"A Relaxing Stay in Portland!"
This was our 2nd stay at this Embassy, it is a wonderful hotel with a great staff. We enjoy the location because we can have a relaxing weekend and never have to get back in to our car until we return home. We just stroll around downtown Portland at our own pace and enjoy the stores and restaurants .Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for the money"
Spacious, comfortable rooms with m/w and fridge. Staff were pleasant and professional. Included breakfast -- Outstanding! Four rating for neighborhood only given for little extra walking distance to city center.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right downtown, great hotel, awesome breakfast"
We were only there for a short stay but room was clean, comfortable and roomy. You have to park in a "shady" parking garage next door and they dont validate, so you will be paying at least $27 every night u are there and the front desk gal wanted to make sure i got everything out of my truck...as they have problems with break ins apparently, but we […] had no issue. You are also right across the street from Voodoo Doughnuts, which is a must go to!!! And other than my key not working, everything was just great..and the Breakfast was AWESOME!!! "Great downtown hotel"
We came to Portland to see colleges and wanted a feel for the downtown. This was an excellent choice for us. Walking distance to just about everything we wanted to check out. The valet parking was a bit expensive and am still not entirely sure where else you would park. Breakfast was excellent and our suite was terrific. I suggest a little more research […] than we did for the surrounding area, but that was entirely my own fault. Very enjoyable hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great time. Love the happy hour and great breakfastGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"good experience centrally located"
We stay here multiple times each year and have always enjoyed it. The fact that breakfast is included as well the evening drinks makes the cost comparable with lesser hotels.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best place to stay in Portland!"
Great place to stay, really spacious rooms! Great customer service; I try to stay here every time I come to Portland :)Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Moda Center Choice"
We had a great time, easy train ride to Moda Center and a great Moroccan restaurant steps away. The bed was a little soft for my back, but otherwise a wonderful stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I usually stay at The Nines hotel when I stay in Portland. It is a great hotel and seems fancy, but the downside is the rooms are small and it does not feel like its all worth the big price. On this stay I was looking for something that had a little more space. I did not only find space but it has some added benefits. The morning breakfast is a nice […] additive combined with the free drinks in the afternoon makes this well than worth it for the money. They top this off with a nice restaurant attached to the hotel, which offers a killer happy hour as well. It was a great stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel, great breakfast, parking okay."
The room was nice. The TV in the room wouldn't power on but when I called, they immediately came and solved the problem. The free breakfast is really good; definitely recommended. I wasn't particularly happy with the parking situation as the garage is a shared with another company and there didn't seem to be enough parking spots. Overall good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We'll choose embassy suites in the future Thank uGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great room, beautiful hotel, will be back."
We were visiting Portland by train so the location was perfect. The hotel is beautiful and suite was great, it's nice to a little room to spread out and put the little ones to bed. The neighborhood isn't the greatest but we never felt unsafe. Breakfast & the evening reception were a nice touch and worth the extra money. If you've ever been out of town […] and found yourself searching for a simple breakfast for small hungry children, you will appreciate it. The only problem that I had was when I woke up in the middle of the night I couldn't fall asleep because of the noise from the street below. To be fair, I live in a quiet area, but I haven't had this problem in other hotels in downtown Portland. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great Hotel. Pull out sofa has definetly a sofa bed mattress but they quickly made up bed to maximize comfort. Convenient location but it is a sketchy part of down town. Fabulous cook to order breakfast and hosted full bar in the afternoon.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Place to Stay"
Fantastisc people. Friendly, on top of their game and very helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel, friendly staff, close to everything downtown. Just too expensive to park. Recommend taking the Max train!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Embassy Suites is a great place to stay in downtown Portland. The Max is 2 1/2 blocks and easy access to the airport. The hotel is centrally located to the downtown area, Pearl district and Saturday Market. The breakfast is excellent with many hot food choices including an omelet station. The afternoon reception is also very good. My only negative […] was my suite overlooked the heating unit and had no view of the area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great for family overnight"
We had a really great stay. Perfect for a family overnight. The kids loved the pool but were a bit disappointed the sauna wasn't working while we were there (no biggie though). Great breakfast too!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Extremely noisy, no view"
First of all, we were put in a room on the first floor right by the elevator, with a view into an inner maintenance area (the air conditioner?). Second, the walls were EXTREMELY thin. We could hear the dinging of the elevator every time it stopped on our floor. it seemed like the walls had no sound proofing at all. Third, the neighborhood is pretty […] sketchy. This hotel was definitely not worth the price we paid at all. We were supposed to stay three nights but ended up leaving after one. The staff was nice about it and gave us a discount when we told them the problem we had. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A wonderful old gem with modern features"
The Old Multolmond Hotel has been restored into a one of a kind Embassy Suites. This is like no other Embassy Suites that I have stayed at. The lobby makes all the difference. What a place.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Embassy Suites Portland-Downtown Thank you so much for the lovely review! We take such pride in being the Multmonah Hotel with over 100 years of great hospitality and it always a gift when our guests feel the same way. Thank you again and we will see you for your next stay!!
Located in the heart of downtown. Within walking distance of great restaurants (Portland City Grill!!!) and attractions. Nice sized room in an old building. Nice art decco accents. Clean but a bit smallish (had the clean towels on a shelf in the shower??). Pricey but goodGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Embassy Suites Portland-Downtown Thank you for the review! It is so nice for guests to be a part of the century old tradition of hospitality and smiles! See you again soon!

"Relaxing and convenient"
Great location, a little different set up than most other Embassy hotels, but still very nice. Room was clean and comfy. Night was quiet. Only downside was we booked a room with what was supposed to be a city view and all we could see was the parking garage right across the street.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Embassy Suites Portland-Downtown I am sorry your view wasn't a city view and I hope you will stay with us again so we may Make It Right for you. The Multnomah Hotel was built in 1912 and has watched the city grow around her. We are glad the rest of your stay was nice and we look forward to seeing you in the near future!!
The best thing about the hotel for us was that it was suite. We had a 1.5 year old with us and they provided a crib for our room. We were able to put our child down for the night in the living room at a relatively early time and still be up in the bedroom.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Embassy Suites Portland-Downtown Thank you for the nice review and please come back often as your baby grows and spend more time exploring and relaxing!!
"Very nice hotel in convenient area"
Excellent rooms. Beds, linens, etc. were all very comfortable and nice. Rooms very clean. Staff exceptional. Service was top notch. Breakfast is wonderful. Reception at night is very nice as well. Location is very convenient. Having said that, surrounding few blocks 'unique' to say the least. A lot of homeless in Portland. Never felt threatened or worried […] but wouldn't send my kids out front alone! Easy walk to Pearl district which was by far our favorite spot. Beautiful area. Would stay here again for sure. "Beautiful Modern Old Hotel in Downtown Portland"
We were happy to have a beautiful spacious room in a convenient downtown location. You can choose self parking or valet parking for an additional $34 a night. The lobby is very impressive and there is even an indoor swimming pool. They offer free drinks and hors d'oeuvres from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. The hors d'oeuvres are not too impressive. In the mornings […] a free breakfast is provided which is very nice. I loved this hotel and may return but I can't believe they do not provide free wifi in the rooms. You can purchase it for a price. You can get free wifi in the lobby. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Center of Downtown"
Not bad. Room was nice and breakfast was good but I was put on a floor with a technology conference and wires, etc were in the hallways and I was traveling with two children. The bellhop said I was put there cause I was only staying one night so I shouldn't mind. Tell that when I repeated tripped over wires coming out of my room.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Too many takeaways."
For the last 10 years we have stayed there at least once a year. it is a classy property but you can't get by on looks alone! First they discontinued the hotel shuttle. Then they reduced the quality of beverages for their happy hour. Then reduced the time window for happy hour. They keep raising the parking fee. Dirty socks left in the room by the prior […] guests sort of topped it off! Hello Housekeeping? Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very nice hotel in downtown Portland"
This was our second stay a this hotel. Very nice hotel in downtown Portland. I think the parking fees are a bit high. And we only had a King Room not a Suite. I must have booked wrong but overall a very nice hotel. We love the manager's reception and Marina your bartender was a sweet girl and can make a great drink. The lady making the Omelets in the […] morning was very good also. We enjoyed our stay and you are so close to Voodoo Donuts. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We loved everything. The hotel was beautiful. Great location to Vodoo doughnuts, pioneer square, waterfront, city train etc..The rooms were gorgeous and comfy. My only concern was parking was hard to find. It is on the opposite street and there is another parking building that is much more prominent but not the correct one. Other then that the stay was fine.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Just one drawback"
The drawback: We got a room directly behind 3 elevators. Room #835. All night long you could hear them running constantly. We only stayed one night and didnt realize what the noise was until we were in for the night so we just decided to deal with it. When my husband mentioned it as we checked out he just got an "oh I'm sorry". I dont know what they […] really could have done, but these rooms on each floor that back up to the elevators really should have some sort of discount or you should be warned. We are not light sleepers, but if you are it could be tough. Everything else was wonderful! They have an evening reception with complimentary drinks and snacks and the breakfast included was top notch. No matter what you like to eat in the morning you will find it. I would recommend this hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel and location"

"Convenient location and very nice!"
I stayed here with a friend in a 2 queen bed room. It was nice that there was an actual door separating the bedroom from the sitting area, and the wet bar was a nice addition as well. The beds were very comfortable and room was very clean. The lobby of this hotel is absolutely beautiful as it is in a historic area. The staff was very polite, courteous […] and helpful. The only negative thing I could say about this hotel was that upon returning to our room around 5, there was visible smoke in the hallway and a distinct smell of it. Concerned along with some other guests, we went back downstairs to inquire at the front desk. We were told that it is a normal occurrence on floors 2-8 (basically the entire building) due to the pizza oven in the restaurant downstairs. A concerned mother had called the fire department and upon checking it out, they were not concerned. The hotel staff opened up the doors at the end of each hallway on all floors to air out the smoke and we were pleased that none of the smoke had entered our room as we both had a headache from what we had already inhaled. Given this situation I still would not hesitate to stay here again, as a whole it was a wonderful experience and there were no safety issues present. The close proximity to the Saturday Night Market, Voodoo Donuts and Stumptown Roasters were also just an added bonus. Upon returning to Portland this will likely be where I stay again. Good overall. Hotel was packed but they run breakfast well. They are organized and well staffed in that regard. Sleeper sofa isn't very comfortable. Parking is expensive but if you're not going to move the car, the other lot across the street is cheaper(less than half the price) and easier to maneuver a car in.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was pleasantly surprised how comfortable I was at the downtown Embassy Suites. My room was very large, electronics were up to date and functioned well. Nice to have a mini fridge, sink, and microwave in the sitting room. Room service menu looked very good, although I brought my own dinner. The only slight faults I found were that I could occasionally […] hear people in the room next to the sitting room, and the bathroom had no fan. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Conveniently located near Portland's attractions"
You have to pay for wifi in the rooms, but it is free in the hotel lobby. Voodoo Donuts is only 2 blocks away! Only a 5-10 minute walk to downtown shopping and food truck lots. There were a fair number of homeless people in that part of town, but we didn't encounter any aggressive panhandling. Street car stops within 2 blocks of the hotel. Very friendly […] and accommodating staff--we arrived early with a mountain of luggage, and they rushed to get us into a room early. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good for families with older children..."
My husband and I spent a week with our 3 children (two 13-yr olds, one 19-yr old) in a 2 bedroom suite. It had 2 separate bedrooms with a foldout couch in the living room. One bedroom had a king bed, TV, and our own bathroom. The other bedroom had 2 Queen beds and their own TV. There was also another bathroom off of the living room. It is always a big […] problem to have 5 of us trying to get into one bathroom when we travel, so this was wonderful. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
