We couldn't have asked for a better stay in Portland. So close to everything in the city, including the Saturday market right around the corner. The breakfast and evening drinks (complimentary!) we're amazing.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel. In good location and very clean."
We were able to access the Saturday market easily, Voodoo Doughnuts, great restaurants close by, and easy access to Pioneer Place via walk or the train. Breakfasts were wonderful and the evening appetizers were a great way to wind down and/or start the evening. Hotel staff was very cordial and nice. Quick response time when we had an issue with the […] refrigerator in our room. I highly recommend and plan to stay there again when we return to Portland. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel stay..."
Embassy Suites offers a great made-to-order b'fast, and the evening "happy hour" is always a great way to unwind from the day (who can say no to free drinks, and snacks). Staff both times of day were very courteous and helpful. We did have to call twice to remind them to clean our room (both times around 3pm)...maybe we were on the list, but wayyyyy […] down the list...maybe. I think they charged too much for parking the car. After all it was Portland, and we weren't downtown in the city center. Still, a nice solid hotel, with a good gym (but small), and an okay pool (one day both hot tub/spas were not operable, and they weren't working on them). Bed, TV, and bathroom were very good, and the dresser and closet were perfect for two people. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"good place for family stay"
Wife and I went for a night with kids, now young adults, after many year hiatus from times we stayed when they were little. Breakfast room and fare needs updating. Sauna closed but pool and spa still nice, as were staff. Price is fair.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Easy walk around town"
Friendly staff ,comfortable retreat , and amenities galoreGenuine Expedia guest review
The room was dark (low ceiling), the view of the ventilation equipment outside was horrible and the quality of furnishings was not high. However, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Also, the complementary breakfast was exceptional. All, in all, it was fine for the price. Just don't expect anything fancy or particularly nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Homeless in Portland"
If you're going to stay at any hotel in downtown Portland, you'll share the location with the city homeless mission. Homeless people are everywhere, but there's very little panhandling and it's unobtrusive...even the cab drivers apologize for it. Embassy Suites is in a beautiful historic building at 3rd & Pine. Weather permitting, a wonderful walk along […] the river to the arena for a Blazers game. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great Hotel! Rooms are large and comfortable. Very clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Within walking distance to shopping, movie theatre, and other downtown attractions.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was easy to find from the freeway. The lobby entrance requires on-street parking but the valet attendants are nearby to help get you into the lobby. The hotel is very clean and looks newly remodeled. The neighborhood has several choices for restaurants, pubs, bars, and VooDoo doughnuts is just a block away. We really enjoyed the cook to order […] breakfast and all the staff seemed friendly and helpful. The next time we are in Portland we will be staying here again. This was a terrific place to stay with our kids! Great pool, comfortable rooms, and quiet hallways.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel, great staff!!"
Great hotel, great staff!! We had a great stay in Portland, at a great hotel with a friendly, and helpful staff. One of the few hotels downtown with a pool, which is essential when traveling with a 6 year old.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Downtown Historic Hotel"
Comfortable, quiet rooms, well appointed and very clean. Lovely historic hotel, well maintained and upgraded. Great breakfast in the old downstairs ballroom - go for the custom omelets! Lots of great places like Hubers and Mothers nearby to eat in the evening. Short walk to the Portland Art Museum. Enjoy!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Central location, close to rail and trolley stops."
Clean room, good service, bountiful breakfast. It was within walking distance to all of downtown, along with being close to both the rail and trolley stops. Will definitely stay at this hotel again, anytime I'm in the Portland area.Genuine Expedia guest review
"STAY IN A GEM OF PORTLAND"
THIS HOTEL IS BEAUTIFUL AND NICELY UPDATED. YOU HAVE QUICK ACCESS TO PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION. THE COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST IS AMAZING.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It's located super central, the lobby is gorgeous and they had even listed out rainy day ideas for us. The pool is super, especially for kids! The big TVs fabulous. Overall A++++Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel itself was fine, very friendly staff. The rooms were larg but the furniture is a little dated. We had 2 42" plasma tvs in our room. The neighborhood however not family friendly as its right at the beginning of alot of strip clubs and bars. Wouldn't recommend taking the kids to late night treat at Voodoo doughnuts just across the street. The odor […] of marijuana was strong! I would however stay again the complimentary breakfast the best I've ever had. Made to order omelet bar, Yum! We tried to order to go at the hotel restaurant which they offered to deliver to the room however, they didn't tell us a 22% charge was included for the service. The food we got was dried out. "Fregrant rose family"
Breakfast room is a little bit chios in the morning. Other than that, everything else is fine. Hotel is still under maintainance. You could see workers working everywhere, even in the swimming pool. Hotel is located in the old downtown area. If you like those old fashion staff, it will be good to stay in this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place for a family!"

"Loved the neighborhood, free breakfast and H.Hour"
Easy and enjoyable. Will come again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Booked 2 rooms for a celebratory 2 days in Portland. Great service. Walked to everything that we wanted to do. 3 special people working for the hotel were Zannah, Concierge, who shared her "giant" book about the history of the hotel, and Aspen and Morina, who worked both nights at the Reception and were great. Aspen was extremely helpful with what was […] going on locally, and Morina was responsible for most of the beautiful flower arrangements at the hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Restful stop after a long plane trip"
We arrived late before New Year's Eve, exhausted. The reception was most helpful and we had a bite to eat at the restaurant about 11:30 pm. Excellent food and value. They gave us 2 glasses of champagne to toast in the New Year. Next day the front desk gave us excellent information about the area. Mostly we just rested before taking the train homw.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Lot's of room in a suite in downtown Portland."
Hotel is in a good location in downtown Portland. The hotel is great for kids, since our suite had lots of room and a sleeper sofa plus two TVs, microwave and fridge. The 5:30PM free drink and snacks was a plus. The beer I had was local and top notch. The breakfast was also great and included. I was able to get a three hour parking space across the […] street, so parking was very reasonable. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Too close to the rescue mission"
unfortunalely in the skid row district of Portland, walked out of the hotel to see bums vomiting on the sidewalk and urinating on the streets, so sad. The breakfast was OK, but ends too early on New Years Day. Would look for hotels further south or on the east side.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Tourist visit to Portland"
My family of four visited Portland for a few days as a way to get our two boys away from screen time for the last bit of winter vacation before school started again. This hotel was great - in easy walking distance of museums, parks and restaurants in downtown Portland. The hotel is quite grand, and the boys really appreciated the hourglass shaped classically […] tiled swimming pool. They offer a complimentary breakfast with made to order eggs, which was quite a hit with all of us. We found the staff to be uniformly friendly and helpful - overall, a great visit! "Close to shopping and the event center."
Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. I liked that the rack (Nordstrom) and other stores were within walking distance. One of the things I didn't like was the surrounding area. The breakfast was awesome! I was impressed with the lady making the omelets.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very good . Location is wonderful but parking was very dirtyGenuine Expedia guest review
"Best Christmas Ever!!!"
We go to this hotel every year for our Family Christmas Trip. The entrance is magical with its gorgeous Christmas trees. The staff is extremely pleasant. Will never stay anywhere else.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent location in the heart of Portland"
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Embassy Suites Portland - Downtown. This hotel is not playing when it comes to amenities and customer service.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A nice stay"
We liked the hotel and stay. Parking is extra (least expensive option is $25) and drop-off/pick-up of luggage is tough, given road outside. Nice stay - solid A-.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice rooms, friendly people."
From valet parking onward, people were friendly and eager to help. Room was well organized with convenient electrical outlets, important for someone who travels with computer and medical equipment.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not what I have experienced in the past..."
We checked in late (10 pm) and we were frustrated to be given a room on a low level. However because we checked in late we didn't complain or request a different room. As we made our way to the room we had to walk through a Christmas Party, which ended being just around the corner from our room. The part continued until midnight and while it wasn't […] a wild and crazy, it was a party and wasn't conducive to sleeping. The room itself was clean, but extremely cold. The bed was uncomfortable and did not have any extra blankets in the room. Overall it was frustrating to pay for an upscale price for an upscale hotel and receive a slightly above average room. "great hotel walking distance to shopping"
We stay here every year for Christmas shopping. Great free cocktail hour, free breakfast, close to Nordstroms and all the great shopping stores. Great restaurants all around, close to Saturday market. Our door wouldn't lock, so we got free parking ($75.00 value). Our door to our room would only lock with the inside double lock system, so it was still […] safe. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"lovely hotel near downtown"
You know you're in for a wonderful stay the minute you walk into the lovely and elegant old lobby. You can picture what it must have been like to stay in the original hotel back in the early 1900's. The hotel is centrally located to many restaurants and within easy walking distance to the shops downtown and Chinatown. The staff at the hotel were very […] friendly and made great suggestions of places to eat and sites to see. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not quite all there"
While the suites are fine for 3-4 people, the sofa bed was not made up when we arrived, one had to call to have this done which is inconvenient, especially if you arrive late. More pervasive, the rooms lighting cannot be made bright, it kind of depressing, low wattage bulbs everywhere. Also the extra blanket we asked for had holes in them.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice hotel and convenient location."
This hotel is beautiful and well kept except for the plumbing. We had a terrible time with the shower and toilet not working. The hotel was very attentive and sent someone up 3 times in the short time we were there to plunge the toilet. They did give us partial compensation for the inconvenience but most people would have been very upset with them and […] demanded more. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"In the heart of the city & plush but meh rooms."
Liked the hotel itself and all the facilities - beautiful lobby & pool area but the room was dated and the Bfast and managers reception was lacking in comparison to other Embassy Suites we stayed at in the past. The staff were very friendly though and the location is central.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hidden Fees give a Negative Impression"
Everything was fine, except the hidden fee that caused me a financial hardship during my weekend visit to Portland! I had planned my trip out to the penny. I don't have a lot of money so the $100 fee that was held, really hurt me, I found out this fee was being held when my charge for a purchase in the hotel was declined!!Genuine Expedia guest review
The old Multnomah Hotel from 1912, kept in all it's glory. Great piece of history, nicely appointed large rooms. A great central location to all of downtown Portland.Genuine Expedia guest review
"The hotel is nice. But the staff is disappointin"
The hotel is beautiful. But the staff at the reception desk didn't smile. They didn't seem to be pleased to see customers coming in the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
Close to everything downtown and very nice staff. Room was clean and very comfortable!Genuine Expedia guest review
Our group of 6 stayed in a 2 bedroom suite, and enjoyed the cocktail hour and the breakfast. We were able to walk everyplace.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great place to stay downtown!"
My boyfriend and I had a great stay at this hotel. We booked through hotels.com and for some reason they had no record of our reservation. They honored the rate we got on hotels.com and upgraded us to a suite! The hotel is very old and well-maintained, with some really cool history. They have a huge pool in the basement which we really loved. And they […] have snacks and free drinks in the evenings which is a nice touch. Excellent customer service, and the hotel was immaculate. I will definitely be back here. And thanks to hotels.com for handling the missing reservation issue so generously! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel staff was very friendly and suggested excellent restaurants in the area which I thoroughly enjoyed.
