"Grand Floral Parade weekend"
Great place to stay. Great wine and cheese in the evening and lots of choices on the breakfast buffet. Like that the pool is opened late with adults only time. Will stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Embassy Suites Portland-Downtown Come back anytime, Jenny!! We love the Rose Festival and have a connection with it for over 100 years so it is always nice to hear guests enjoy it too. We will see you again soon and thank you for the review!

"Beautiful Room and Hotel"
We stayed in the two bedroom king suite and couldn't have been happier. It was more than enough room for six ladies... The staff was great and so was breakfast the next morning!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Embassy Suites Portland-Downtown Sounds like you had a fun weekend, Crystal! I am so glad you stayed with us and we will see you again soon! Thanks for the review!
"Nice rooms, good staff, good benefits"
Embassy Suites Downtown tries very hard to be the best hotel it can be and for the most part succeeds. The free cocktails and snacks are really well done. The hotel lobby is beautiful and the staff is great. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are decently sized for suites (way better than the Hilton Executive Towers!). There are a number of food […] trucks, restaurants, and bars nearby. Unfortunately, there are also a ton of "street kids", ne'er-do-wells that are travelling for cooler Summer climes. If you can get out of the immediate area of the hotel and towards the West, it gets much nicer. Overall, a great hotel in a convenient but not great area of Portland (IMO). Can't beat the location and free breakfast/happy hour. Neither of those were super upscale, but they were FREE. Parade going on outside hotel made it hard to get around one evening, but obv not their fault. Had a great timeGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Embassy Suites Portland-Downtown Thank you for the nice review and I am happy you were here during the Starlight Parade. Hopefully you were able to enjoy it as more of a "happy accident" than an "annoyance". We have been on the parade route for over 100 years and it's a very unique Portland Adventure. We hope to see you again in the future!!!
Good location, nicely remodeled old hotel, good breakfast, good happy hourGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Let’s Do The Time Warp Again"
We are cynical and shallow people. We’ve grown up in an age of conspicuous consumption and instant gratification and perpetual self evaluation. We are all sell outs. Consumer culture won. And it left scorched earth in the wake of its victory march. We should be honest here: Embassy Suites was not where we wanted to stay. We ended up at the Embassy […] Suites: the hotel we remember from AP Government trips to DC, or family vacations to Albuquerque. To us, you are the big box store of hotels. And we loathed you for it. But something happened this weekend. We don’t know how, but somehow you transported us. You attached our jaded preconceptions to a car battery and revved the engine. And, insodoing, you brought us somewhere else. Back in time, forward in time, sideways...we don’t know. But it was special. Embassy Suites Portland, we don’t know what you did to us. We don’t know if we will be ever the same. All we know is that you stripped away the hard veneer of modern life. You brought us back to a place we half remembered. A place we might have loved once, if things turned out differently. A place that, for lack of a more complete word, was home. It was our home. And we can’t thank you enough for that. For the dream world you created, we thank you. Now, when we wake, we cry to dream again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We have stayed here before and enjoyed it, but this time room was not vacuumed and breakfast room floor was very sticky. Their was a high school group of kids next to our room that was very loud until 1 am. Walls so thin we could hear everything they said.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location, very comfortable suite"
Centrally located for us. Very interesting restored old hotel. Staff provided useful recommendations. Comfortable, quiet room.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice, convenient place to stay"
Breakfast was great! Just thought it would be a little "nicer" with a perk or 2 for $250 for one night....Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place to stay in the middle of downtown"
Good place to stay close to many places in Portland. Comfortable beds, fairly quiet.Genuine Expedia guest review
Came for a show at the Roseland Theater. Enjoyed the food carts, the zoo and the Japanese garden.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice place to walk downtown Portland"
Had a lovely experience at this hotel. The room was very well appointed and pleasant to stay in. We enjoyed looking out over the city...walking to the river...Voodoo doughnuts just down the street and being close to Saturday market. Had a nice dinner in the resturant and enjoyed breakfast also.Genuine Expedia guest review
The staff was very good at getting us into our room early on Friday. The room was very spacious and clean. Front desk staff really helped us in getting around Portland. The hotel is in a great location to walk in the city. Loved our stay, would highly recommend.Genuine Expedia guest review
"good location and everything is perfect"
good location and everything is perfect. will come to stay next time!Genuine Expedia guest review
"A little spendy for the size of the room"
Right downtown. Clean. Good service. Expensive however for the suites that are WAY smaller than in the picturesGenuine Expedia guest review
I've stayed here many times and have always been pleased with everything! My favorite downtown Portland hotel by far!!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great room and friendly staff. Across from the farmer's market which was very convenient. They had a couple of parties there but you didn't notice. It was well controlled which I liked. The only thing I didn't like was for some reason housekeeping didn't clean our room during our stay. Had to ask for service and towels.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Be prepared to pay for parking"
Great location, great city, great hotel. Had prom there one night we were there- very noisy. Paid arm and leg for parking. Close to chinatown, mall, riverfront, saturday market, voodoo doughnuts, and food trucks. There are bums on the streets, but we felt safe because of all the people walking about and at all hours. It was noisy at night outside our […] room. The police station is nearby and there were sirens going off frequently all night. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We checked in to the Embassy Suites and were so pleased to be upgraded to a "conference room" It was huge. We went out to dinner, returned, watched a huge group of Prom attendees enter the hotel. After a while, we asked where the prom was: it was adjacent to our room! We had been upgraded to a lesser room. We did get moved, with a lot of pressure….and […] that room was one of their "green" rooms, which was quite nice. The breakfast was incredible the next morning. What we wondered, was why us? Actually, why anybody? Why put a couple in the room that's adjacent to a high school prom with a band? Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Embassy Suites allowed us to check in a little early so we could be ready for a 4:30pm wedding. The room easily fit 6 adults. The breakfast was fantastic as usual. There was a person in the lobby ready to answer any questions about what to go see in the area. I now wished I got her name. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Def will stay again!"
Going in, I had a few people raving about this hotel. The location was great, the amenities are pretty awesome, lived up to the hype. Staff was so nice - got a "good morning" or "hello" at every turn. I was a little annoyed w/ the front desk lady who during check-in, when I asked for room on a higher floor, told me the one we were getting was nicer […] as it looked out - she failed to mention it looked out on to the ventilation unit. I should've gone back and requested another but didn't. The room we had also had some strange humming that woke me up which sounded like water in pipes or the elevator screeching but I have ultrasonic bat hearing so that may just be me. Hotel parking was ridiculous rates, room water was cold unless you took shower at 4am, couldnt use hilton points and stay wasnt cheap.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel, attentive staff, close to light rail"
Clean rooms, great staff, very nice early evening happy hour and great breakfast in the morning. Kid-friendly and great location close to light rail.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great place for families with young children. Cocktail hour is a must!Genuine Expedia guest review
Poor location. On the outskirts of downtown in area where downtrodden gather.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is my favorite hotel in the U.S. I have stayed several places in Portland, but I keep coming back here when I drive down from Washington. Beautiful, great location, great breakfast, huge rooms, friendly staff, always clean... What more could you ask for?Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel But Lack of WIFI in Room is a Joke"
Room was good, breakfast and happy hour were very nice. Only complaint was that they wanted to charge for in room wifi. That is ridiculous.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel...clean and comfortable, with a wonderful breakfast buffet!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Charge for Wifi???"
Including the cost for parking, we spent over $500 for a two night stay. Nice room, newer furniture and fixtures. I just cannot get over a surcharge for WIFI. It simply blows me away. I've never been asked to pay for WIFI at a hotel before. Given that it's a nice place, it kinda ruined it for me.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A good value."
A good value hotel that is conveniently located in downtown Portland.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right in downtown Portland"
Comfortable, beautiful hotel. In the center of downtown. Walking distance to public transportation and sight seeing. Love the free breakfast and evening reception time.Genuine Expedia guest review
We couldn't have asked for a better stay in Portland. So close to everything in the city, including the Saturday market right around the corner. The breakfast and evening drinks (complimentary!) we're amazing.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel. In good location and very clean."
We were able to access the Saturday market easily, Voodoo Doughnuts, great restaurants close by, and easy access to Pioneer Place via walk or the train. Breakfasts were wonderful and the evening appetizers were a great way to wind down and/or start the evening. Hotel staff was very cordial and nice. Quick response time when we had an issue with the […] refrigerator in our room. I highly recommend and plan to stay there again when we return to Portland. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel stay..."
Embassy Suites offers a great made-to-order b'fast, and the evening "happy hour" is always a great way to unwind from the day (who can say no to free drinks, and snacks). Staff both times of day were very courteous and helpful. We did have to call twice to remind them to clean our room (both times around 3pm)...maybe we were on the list, but wayyyyy […] down the list...maybe. I think they charged too much for parking the car. After all it was Portland, and we weren't downtown in the city center. Still, a nice solid hotel, with a good gym (but small), and an okay pool (one day both hot tub/spas were not operable, and they weren't working on them). Bed, TV, and bathroom were very good, and the dresser and closet were perfect for two people. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"good place for family stay"
Wife and I went for a night with kids, now young adults, after many year hiatus from times we stayed when they were little. Breakfast room and fare needs updating. Sauna closed but pool and spa still nice, as were staff. Price is fair.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Easy walk around town"
Friendly staff ,comfortable retreat , and amenities galoreGenuine Expedia guest review
The room was dark (low ceiling), the view of the ventilation equipment outside was horrible and the quality of furnishings was not high. However, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Also, the complementary breakfast was exceptional. All, in all, it was fine for the price. Just don't expect anything fancy or particularly nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Homeless in Portland"
If you're going to stay at any hotel in downtown Portland, you'll share the location with the city homeless mission. Homeless people are everywhere, but there's very little panhandling and it's unobtrusive...even the cab drivers apologize for it. Embassy Suites is in a beautiful historic building at 3rd & Pine. Weather permitting, a wonderful walk along […] the river to the arena for a Blazers game. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great Hotel! Rooms are large and comfortable. Very clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Within walking distance to shopping, movie theatre, and other downtown attractions.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was easy to find from the freeway. The lobby entrance requires on-street parking but the valet attendants are nearby to help get you into the lobby. The hotel is very clean and looks newly remodeled. The neighborhood has several choices for restaurants, pubs, bars, and VooDoo doughnuts is just a block away. We really enjoyed the cook to order […] breakfast and all the staff seemed friendly and helpful. The next time we are in Portland we will be staying here again. "Great hotel, great staff!!"
Great hotel, great staff!! We had a great stay in Portland, at a great hotel with a friendly, and helpful staff. One of the few hotels downtown with a pool, which is essential when traveling with a 6 year old.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Downtown Historic Hotel"
Comfortable, quiet rooms, well appointed and very clean. Lovely historic hotel, well maintained and upgraded. Great breakfast in the old downstairs ballroom - go for the custom omelets! Lots of great places like Hubers and Mothers nearby to eat in the evening. Short walk to the Portland Art Museum. Enjoy!Genuine Expedia guest review
