"Clean Hotel with Friendly Staff"
While the Room and Facility was clean and the Staff very friendly - and the cookies were warm and tasty - there wasn't a refrigerator in the room to store and keep cold water and there wasn't a Hot Tub at the pool.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Substandard for Doubletree"
No part of my experience at this hotel made it above the average mark. The room was cramped, lacking in natural light, and the staff couldn't seem to keep it fully stocked or maintained. First day, the cleaning crew skipped the room altogether. The second day, the low-flow toilet clogged and the cleaning crew overlooked it. They also overlooked replenishing […] the sugar and creamer in the coffee station every day after the first and I had to raid the dining room. The last day the cleaning crew opened the door while I was in the shower...at 8:15am. In what hotel do they clean rooms at 8:15am? The room was also missing some nice-to-have amenities like a mini-fridge and microwave, but that was my oversight when doing research. Just don't expect anything beyond the basics. The annoyances didn't end with the room. The hotel restaurant was aw-freaking-ful. The crab cakes were little dry pancakes served with tartar sauce, the burger was VERY well-done and lukewarm, and at breakfast my final day, I ordered off the menu instead of paying $13 for the buffet, and the waiter invited me to get it myself rather than put in a proper order to the kitchen. The melon was unripe and inedible, and the croissant was thick and doughy. If you HAVE to stay at a Hilton Doubletree, there's a nicer one five minutes north on I-35. Go there instead. "Close to University"
The hotel was very close to the university area, I never had to get on the freeway. Staff was pleasant and room was vey clean. Room was small but comfortable for one person. Restaurant nearby in walking distance.Genuine Expedia guest review
If you don't want to pay the rates of what it would be to stay downtown then this is a great and affordable option! 10-15 minute walk to down town and just off I-35. Hotel was clean, bartendars at hotel bar were very friendly, overall pleasant stay. It was weird to have a cemetary next to the hotel but you can't beat the overall convenience of the […] location! Excellent hotel and great price. Will definitely stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review
Really good hotel, and great proximity to the University. The rooms were very comfortable and the free coffee in the lobby in the morning was nice. Breakfast looked nice but was a little pricey.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"My Stay at The a Double Tree"
Awesome stay. Staff was great. Room was very clean. I will stay at this hotel every time I come to Austin.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very pleasant staff; nice breakfast restaurant; great location; not fabulous but very decent for the price. I would stay there again when on business. Easy access to I-35.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great. Maybe overpriced but cookies make all things rightGenuine Expedia guest review
I would go here again. Paid $129 per night for Sat and sunday. Made reservation that morning, so price seemed fair. Clean place, and close enough to downtown.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not worth the money"
Not worth the money....stayed in a lot nicer for the amount of money...Bathroom smelt like sewage, bed uncomfortable you sunk to the center...location not the greatest it sets next to a graveyard.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel was very convenient in terms of it's proximity to freeways & downtown. However, it is not at all where you can walk anywhere (except to next door Denny's). There is a large graveyard right next door & not the safest neighborhood to walk around. The inside is very clean, new & room was updated. I'd never stay on the second floor as it is close […] to the pool & very noisy. I would ask to be on the side away from the freeway also. Both computers in the business office were down. So, don't rely on that if you need to print something. Free WiFi in the room though. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to Downtown"
This hotel is perfect if you want to stay close to downtown...6th street, State Capitol, Bullock museum and Museum of Art, Texas university are all walking distance. Close to a lot of great restaurants and the airport and shopping. Nice ,safe neighborhood. Ample free parking. All the hotel amenities except no fridge. Great price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to LBJ Library, UT campus."
Very positive experience, glad we stayed there. We were in town for a wedding but also had plenty of time to do other things, including visiting LBJ library, LBJ ranch (50 mi away), and state capital. Hotel is easy to access from downtown, highly recommended if you have a vehicle.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great, close to our destination."
Room was nice and clean. I would come and stay again. Close to our destination. Staff was good.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very good location."
The hotel was very comfortable and in a perfect location for us because we wanted to visit our grandson at the university. It is practically in the middle of Austin. The front desk staff was extremely helpful with recommendations for restaurants and shops.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Lovely hotel, very nice manager."
This hotel had the nicest most sweetest manager. He was a tall thin man (can't remember his name) He let me check in super early, changed my room to a higher floor when I mentioned I don't like low floors and was very sweet. The rooms are clean and very comfortable and the whole place feels safe. There is a 24 hour "Dennys" restaurant right in front, […] literally like a couple of foot steps away. Its in the same parking lot. Aaahhh! love having food that close for three in the morning cravings! This hotel is close to 6th street but the walk is actually quiet long. A cab takes you there for less than 9 dollars including tip. The hotel is very very close to Texas university's main football stadium and Bass hall. Its also very close to the capitol building. Overall I had a lovely stay and am planning to return. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"great with or without kids"
hotel was in a great location and was in great condition. the guys at reception were VERY nice. it was slightly noisy (thin walls), but the room was really nice - prettier than i expected. the only thing that would have been better would have been having a fridge in the room. otherwise, it was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Walking distance to UT's Campus"
Road noise from I-35 is Ok - it is just white noise while sleeping.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Pool area is very nice, but lacking a shuttle service we found to be a big drawback. Had to rent a car because taxis got to be pricey. Rooms were kept very well, however, the coffee in the room was very poor. Better coffee was had in the restaurant, complimentary. Two breakfast- lunch places within walking distance were the Blue Dalhila and the Farmica. […] Both were excellent, busy on weekends. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I do like Doubletrees because they are always well maintained just as this one is. Just off the freeway, but nothing except a Denny's within walking distance.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Comfort and a great breakfast"
An excellent night's sleep and a great breakfast. Very nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was exactly what I expected it to be - which wasn't much, but I never look for much in a hotel. For me, it's simply a place to relax and fall asleep at the end of a long day. The check-in process was quick and easy but the hotel staff could have been a little more courteous - they didn't offer any information about the hotel, it's amenities, […] or the attractions within the vicinity! I was put in a corner room on the second floor with a view of the parking lot but I was happy because at least it was quite - when I walked down the halls I could hear people in their rooms (that's not something that should happen) - and the second floor had easy access to the back of the hotel parking area making it an easy in/easy out without having to stumble through the lobby in the middle of the night. Hotel staff was very courteous, helpful and efficient. Facility is clean and modern. Hotel was on the outskirts of the downtown area, but rate was considerably lower. Location worked great for us. All in all, we had a great stay! Love Austin!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to UT"
The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. I had never been to Austin, so I appreciated how knowledgeable they were about the area. I was given a map and simple directions along with a recommendation for a great restaurant. The only negative is that I was surprised that there wasn't a refrigerator in the room. At this price point, I expected to be […] able to keep drinks cold. Other than that, I think it was a great deal and a perfect place to stay if you have business or fun scheduled at UT. "Good Service and Clean Room"
The hotel was in a very strange place located next to a cemetery. The pool was unkept and full of dirt and leaves though. The hotel is very close to the University of Texas. It is only a ten dollar cab ride to every sight in the city.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
it started off terrible they gave me a room instead of a suite finally I got the room , I was supposed too it was $115 more.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Perfect Location for Visiting Austin"
A very nice hotel. Along with being quiet and clean, the hotel was convenient to visiting all of Austin's varied trouts areas. In addition, the staff was very helpful, courteous, and friendly. Furthermore, the hotel's restaurant is reasonably priced and the food is excellent. For that matter, the waiters were very helpful in suggesting places to visit […] in the city. I would have given the hotel 5-stars…….except for the fact that the rooms are painted in a burnt orange color. Along with the fact that all of the light bulbs were a dull 60-watts, the darkly-painted walls left the room even darker in the evening. Thus, for those tourists who like to read in the evening, be sure to bring your own 100 watt bulb or a flashlight! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Was told it was located 6 miles from the airport."
Not a great area of town. Was ok. Pool area was a mess. They don't expect people to sit out there by the cemetery. It was filthy birds all in the pool.Genuine Expedia guest review
the only issue with this hotel is that it is a 30 min walk from Rainey St and 20 from dirty 6th. but even with that the staff was impeccable. the pool area was awesome. the gym got the job done and the room was comfortableGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great accommodations close to downtown."
I was in town for a 3 day seminar. This hotel was right on I-35 across from downtown Austin. I was able to make anywhere downtown in just a few minutes - during the hour or two that is not Austin rush hour. Even though my room faced I-35 there was no noise to keep me awake. The hotel was extremely clean and quiet, and the staff was accommodating and […] friendly at all times. The restaurant breakfast was delicious. I ordered off the menu, not the buffet. The one, and only, concern was the time it took for the shower to warm. Not a big deal, just figured to let it run a while before I needed to get in. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"It was a pretty decent place."
All was pretty good except that it seemed a little dated in the rooms. Plus, I noticed some things that made me think the cleaning crew didn't do as much as they should have. Little things like hair on the toilet seat cover, bed skirt was dirty, chipped paint, weird substance on picture frame, etc. It was a decent stay but not as good as the Holiday […] Inn Express in Rockport, TX. We stayed there the next two nights for way cheaper and was way cleaner and updated. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Really good experience."
Hotel overall is a very nice place. It is next to a cemetery, which seemed freaky at the beginning, but it is an awesome location if you wanna party in 6th street. You can easily avoid the hway, n its 5 min away. Employees are very kind, and attentive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not great, not bad"
This was my first time in a DoubleTree hotel. It was fine, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back. The room was clean, but I was disappointed by the following: *no shower cap available *heater not working - it blew only colder air into the room. This was when the weather was in the 30s-40s. *rock hard pillows I understand that it's not that expensive, […] but these are basics, not extra amenities. The staff was very nice, though. Very friendly staff. The location is great if you want to be near downtown, the university and restaurants. The lobby and bar area was nice and have a nice casual feel. The only downside was the bartender tried to hard to upset me...it was a little annoying but I know he's only doing his job.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
