A very small place, but comfortable and cute. Staff was extremely helpful. Only a 5-minute walk from Subway. In a nice neighborhood, with lots of interesting activities at night (street vendors, food stalls, etc.). Most tourists will probably never see the poverty-stricken living conditions of people off the alleyways behind the main streets, but it's there if you look for it.

This hotel was very roomy and clean. Close to the Olympic Park. Easy to get to from the Airport. Well located to see many of the tourist spots in Beijing.

The staff at Sha Tan hotel is exceptional. I had no trouble adjusting my reservations and tours by phone in advance and even received a personal note from the day staff when I arrived late. I didn't have any meals so I can't comment on that, it is difficult for Taxis to find but I usually stay in that area so I anticipated that. If you aren't familiar with the area you might want to request that the hotel send you instructions on how to reach their location from the North end of the Forbidden City in Chinese so the taxi driver can read them. The pillow top mattresses were an amazing change from the usual hotel beds in China, my only complaint about the hotel is that they can't do foreign exchange but the nearby ICBC can take care of that. Along the main road that crosses the North gate of the Forbidden City (walk the opposite direction) you'll find a string of art supply stores, a great art museum and a little shop with fantastic wool and other yarns to bring home for your knitting friends. The small street the hotel is on has a lot of local flavor.

The hotel was beautiful nicely decorated, giving a sense of the "hutongs" but with more comfort. It had an elegant courtyard, and the rooms were very comfortable. It was located down a narrow alley way, but that provided authenticity to the experience since the hutongs are all built off of similar roads.

Location.
Located in Beijing (Dongcheng - Wangfujing), Beijing Hotel is close to Dongdan, China Museum of History, and Tiananmen Square. Also nearby are Forbidden City and Great Hall of the People.
Hotel Features.

"Tourists Beware"
Breakfast was not included in our room rate, and the hotel restaurant price was crazy high because they knew the surrounding area was mostly hotels with few places to buy breakfast. "Good location, bad service"
The location is good, but hard to get taxi. The front desk can not reserve taxi for the guests. When I checked in, there is along line waiting for check-in, but a frontdesk lady did not help guest check-in and kept managed some ducuments there.

They do not have any wireless internet. In the lobby the vast expanse of limestone, they have a couch and 2 chairs, it is the only place to get wireless internet and it is not even the hotel's internet!!!! The location is superb, the windows that overlook the Forbidden City were dirty but given the smog maybe that is too much to ask. The area around the hotel is full of fantastic shopping, the Forbidden City and high end cafe's. "Looks good, but not easy to get a taxi"
The hotel looks great! And, the location is nice for travelers. However, most workers in the hotel do not speak English, and taking a taxi at the front gate was really hard for me. The Beijing Hotel is very close to Tianamen Sq. and the Forbidden City. There are very good restaruants in the hotel and very close to the hotel (both Western and Chinese). Also the Beijing Hotel is connected to The Beijing Raffles Hotel and they share a work-out room and a very large swimming pool. It is surprising that a 5 stars hotel has no Wi Fi in the hotel. At least it should cover the lobby area. Its business center has only 3 computer and one in English . I went to Business center many people waiting to use Internet. The hotel is in a great location, but beware, it is not in the location marked on the hotels.com map. The hotel is actually right in front of the Wangfujing subway stop. It is still within a five minute walk to Tiananmen's Square and the Forbidden Palace. Being so close to a subway station makes travel to the rest of the city easy too. "Beijing Hotel in Beijing China"
Great hotel! Very helpful and right on the subway and bus lines. Close to Tienanmen Square and Forbidden City. Public transportation easy to use from this site. Staff always kind and polite. Very helpful finding correct bus lines to take for the day.
Nice comfortable rooms in a great location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bike rentals on site, fun markets and shopping around the corner, only one block walk to the Forbidden city. You have to have a swim cap to swim in the pool.

"Best part is being attached to Raffles Lounge"
Old hotel, smelly, understaffed at front desk. No free wifi even in the lobby...BUT, free in adjoining Raffles Hotel Lobby which has a lovely bar and fantastic service. Stayed one night super glad we didn't choose this as our primary hotel!

i booked beijing hotel for its superb location for tourist. Getting around is easy.The room is big and comfortable although hotel is old. Serivce wise is acceptable. Wanfuching subway stn is just infront of the hotel, however taxi fare is cheap if you have a grouip of 4 paxs. "Diamond five star ???"
This hotel has the potential to be a truly magnificient property if it is tastefully refurbished. The plastic flowers in the revolving front door should be discarded.The mild dew in the bathroom is disgusting. Unfortunately, this is a common problem in many 5 star hotels in China!

Great location. This hotel is like nearly 50 years old, but well preserved. Next to everything is well worth it.

The hotel has a great location. However, they did not change my bed sheet etc for 3 nights I stayed there. Bathroom and amenities are relatively good. Service is sloppy. Breakfast is terrible except for the usual fruits. Not bad for the money paid.

Ficamos 4 dias nesse hotel, mas ele está longe de ser um 5 estrelas. No check in, chegamos tarde e com fome e nos indicaram o restaurante do hotel que fechava as 24:00h. Chegamos as 23:30h no restaurante e eles não nos atenderam devido o horário. O service room, que dizem ser 24 horas, funciona das 03:00h às 24:00h ?!?!?!?!?! Entenderam? As instalações […] do hall de entrada está muito boa, mas os quartos estão precisando de uma reforma muito boa. Os banheiros cheiram a mofo. Não tem conforto. 北京で名門のホテルだと聞いて宿泊しましたが、ロケーション的には王府井の近くで便利ですが、設備は悪いです。部屋も清掃が十分でなく、特にバストイレは最悪です。排水溝は汚れてごみがあり、また水道設備も蛇口をひねると勢いよく水がでて、周りが水びだしです。紫禁城ビューの部屋の宿泊しましたが、前面の出れないテラスがあり、よく見えません。また、フロントのサービスもこちらが挨拶しても、挨拶なし。中国にサービスは期待していませんが、オリンピック、万博と国際行事を行いよくなってきたところもありますが、このホテルではまったく感じられなかった。
"観光に便利"
1部屋に3人で予約していたが、ホテルに伝わっておらず、追加料金を要求され、明細のコピーを見せたら納得した。ベッドメイキングはしてくれるが、部屋のゴミが落ちたままだった。フロントの英語はとても上手だが、レストランでは通じなかった。繁華街や天安門、土産探しなど、とても便利。ホテルの人達は、とても親切。
北京の銀座と言われる王府井大通りに面している。最古のホテルであり、かつわかりやすい場所なので、タクシーで帰るとき、「王府井、北京飯店」といえば、運転手が間違うことがない。 この北京飯店には、五人百姓というおいしい日本食レストランがある。責任者は北京に滞在１３年の、長濱さんという日本人。北京の生き字引！ わからないことがあったら、相談しよう。 日本の居酒屋風であるが、個室もたくさんあるので、昼、夜、皆で行ってみよう。勿論日本語が通じる店である。
"Good Hotel"
出張兼観光で北京飯店を利用させていただきました。 まずはアクセスですが、私は地下鉄を利用しました。 出口（確かC）を出て顔を上げるともう北京飯店でした。地下鉄の利用を予定している方がいらっしゃるなら、この点は非常に便利であり、お勧めです。 北京飯店は五つ星ホテルと言うこともあり、部屋は清潔であり、広かったです。日本と近いということもあり、NHKは放送されています。また、英語はもちろん通じます。ひょとしたら日本語を話せるスタッフもいたかもしれません。 ホテルから天安門、故宮が徒歩で行けます。北京の有名な名所から近いというのも、このホテルの良い点であると思います。
"泊まるだけならいいのでは"
９月１日から１４階スーペリアツインに４泊しました。 まず、サービスは中国品質です。サービスの概念が無いようですね。期待もしていなかったので落胆はありませんでした。ちなみにホテルに入っても誰も従業員は挨拶どころか、会釈も無し、まあいいですけどね。 次に、部屋ですが、古い、トイレの水の流れが悪い、寒い（エアコン効き過ぎ）、毛布、布団の品質が悪い。とりあえず、天井が高く、広さは十分ですので、泊まるだけなら問題ないです。 立地については、申し分ないです。王府井は歩いて１分、タクシーに乗ってもほぼ間違いなくホテルに帰ることができます。どこに行くにも良い立地です。 コンシェルジェは、皆無に等しい、まともに英語も話せない。中国語オンリー、会話が成立しませんでした。ちなみに、観光は、地下鉄とタクシー、また独 […] 自に手配した中国旅行達人のチャーターと通訳で楽しい観光ができました。この中国旅行達人は素晴らしいサービスでした。家族で羽田、関空、九州からBeijingに集合したのですが、すべて空港までの送迎も中国旅行達人に依頼しました。 ホテルは期待してはいけませんね。 Read more

오래된 호텔이라서 그리 기대하고 가지는 않았습니다. 다만 자유여행으로 간 것이라 급하게 예약했습니다. 위치는 좋습니다. 지하철 1호선 왕부징역 C출구에 나오면 바로 오른편에 호텔이 있습니다. 바로 있습니다. 왕부징에 있어서 걸어서 10분이면 티엔안 먼 광장에 갈 수 있습니다. 걷기 귀찮으면 왕부징역에서 1정거장 타고 티엔안 먼 동역에 내리면 정말 바로 옆입니다. 왕부징이라는 번화가 옆이라서 편의시설은 좋습니다. 저녁에 산책 나갈 수 있습니다. 2분 거리니 호텔은 역사가 있다고 합니다.100년 정도 그런데 별 5개짜리 호텔 치고는 건물이 낡았습니다. 변기가 고장났는데 수리를 부탁했는데 그 다음날고 같은 고장이 발생합니다. […] 그리고 세면대 물이 빠지지 않아서 수리를 부탁했는데 결국 3박을 하고 나오는 동안 수리가되지 않더라구요. 그러려니 하고 그냥 있다 왔습니다. 제 체질이 그런 것에 별로 연연하지 않고 호텔은 잠 잘때밖에 머물지 않아서... 금고도 고장나서 고쳐달라고 했는데 결국 고쳐주지않아서 그냥 뒀습니다. 3개의 문제라고 틀림없이 말했는데 다 시정이 되지 않았습니다. 호텔 정문에서 호객행위를 하는 사람들이 있는데 저같은 경우 좀 불편하더라구요. 원래 북경이 그런 것이라면 할 수 없고... 추천하지는 않지만 잠만 잔다면 그런데로 묵을 만은 합니다. The hotel is in very good location. However, the rooms are not maintainied very well, in particular the bathroom. The staffs generally are not very helpful. I will not recommend it at all.

"Beijing Hotel"
Trevligt hotell. Bra service. Inte toppkvalité på alla rum, men det är å andra sidan ganska många. Hotellet har ett bra läge mitt bland alla populära sevärdheter och det är ju bra om man åker på egen hand. Ett tips är att inte gå och dricka öl med någon av de människor som tar kontakt på gatan.
