"Thanksgiving at the Sonora Inn"
a great place to stay and visit the town. Diningroom for our thanksgiving meal was over the top.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Historic Sonora Inn"
The Sonora Inn was a great part of our visit to Columbia State Park and the Sonora Hebrew Cemetery. The hotel is in excellent condition and the area is full of nice stores and restaurants. The only drawback was that the rooms were quite small, but this wasn't really a problem for us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Historic Place to Lay Your Head"
Arrived late. The staff was very helpful. The entire building was very historic. Parking was at a premium. It was very clean. Room was old but nice and clean. It had modern amenities with a splash of the wild west. I wanted to stay longer.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Getaway for us with wine tasting diner and a play. We could not have enjoyed it more. Christophers was awesome.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Sonora Inn charm"
Hotel was clean and comfortable, the only negative was the breakfast in the morning was a little skimpyGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Historical Hotel"
Room was pretty, bed was comfortable, everything was clean, and employees were very friendly. Great old historical hotel on Sonora's main street. Fun.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Love love love it"
Love love loved it. Hotel staff very professional. Top notch ladies. Loved the elevator. I have wanted to stay here for awhile now but, it has always been booked. It was worth the wait. I will stay again and again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"VERY nice for a "historic" hotel"
Only two negatives: 1) Situated at a busy intersection, lots of outside traffic noise in my "along the street" room, especially early morning work days. Try to get an "inside" room. And 2) I could hear the TV (affixed to our shared wall?) from my neighbor's room; I'm glad they turned it off at 10:00pm.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Historic inn in historic town"
This is an historic hotel, so the bathroom is not expansive. However, the decor, with crown molding and historic detail, is well maintained and attractive. The hotel staff was excellent, providing information and assistance as needed. They offered a nice breakfast in an attractive breakfast room. The location is in historic Sonora, amid restaurants […] and shops. the only drawback is that there is a lot of traffic noise because it sits on the corner of a busy intersection. Delivery trucks seem to run early morning hours and may disrupt sleep. We ran the fan on the air unit to cover some of the noise, but may be problematic for light sleepers. "Great location to see everything in a short trip."
Hotel is old but they still need to keep up the maintenance of the rooms. A/C made noise all night. It was warm so we had to run it. Bath room water faucet leaked.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close. To my dying. family member"
Over. All it was okay, the bathroom left much to be desired. No trash can, no Kleenex, 1st night no bath Matt by tub......very bare bones. I needed to jot down a note.....no paper nor pen, nothing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Really nice but the hotel didn't have water to sell.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The manager who checked us in was very courteus, and he also gave us the room key just by trusting us becuse our reservation was not coming out on his computer and isntead of keep us waiting he checked us in and gave us a nice room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Vintage Hôtel, very small rooms, bith room and bathroom were dirty, absolutely overpricedGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice and clean"
Hotel suggested us a few reastaurants to visit, however forgot to mention that all restaurants in town close at 09 PM.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Historic Hotel/Inn in really good shape with modern conveniences and Bed was great, very comfortableGenuine Expedia guest review
Our stay was good. Traffic noise was the downer for the hotel is off HWY 49, but the white noise from the air conditioner took care of the problem. I think we over slept because of the air conditioner.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel location is very good and the specific rates very reasonable. However, rooms are small, paper cups are provided in room and window A/C units have only on and off switches ( no thermostats ).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Turn of the Century Downtown Hotel"
Very nice old restored hotel, loved the location right downtown close to shops. Loved the historic elevator and the second level swimming pool. Very clean!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice, older hotel in quaint small town."
I enjoyed staying at this older hotel because it's right on the main street of Sonora. If you prefer character to non-descript motels, I think you'll like this place. Very old elevator, but I'd say that's part of the charm.Genuine Expedia guest review
Beautiful, well kept up Inn. I love the old elevator. Room was very clean. Very helpful people.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Sonora treasure to check out"
Cozy place, great location, very friendly staff!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Beautifully restored historical hotel in the heart of Sonora. The rooms were a bit small but very charming. The front desk staff was very friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was absolutely beautiful. The pool area was wonderful. The beds were very comfortable. The room was very small and cramped, particularly the bathroom. The showers water pressure wasn't very good and the tempature was either blazing hot or ice cold. So it made my morning routine very difficult.Genuine Expedia guest review

It is quite an old hotel and may need to be renovated to meet the modern time market.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"you go for the charm"
I have always wanted to stay there and am super glad we did. However, rooms are small if you care about that. The shower has the worst water pressure ever!!!! And I don't understand why some hotels buy towels that are worse than sandpaper? But on a happy note the staff was very friendly. The hotel was very charming. Loved the pool on the second story!!!! […] I probably would not stay here again. But I'm certainly glad we did at least once. It was worth the experience. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quaint hotel in center of town"
Historic hotel with quaint lobby and rooms. Centrally located in the town of Sonora. The manager who checked us in was very personable and gave us a tour of some of the suites that stars have stayed in. Be sure to see the room Grace Kelly stayed in! Our room was pretty and comfortable. The bathroom needed an update badly, but are nice considering the […] age of the hotel. Breakfast was very skimpy. Best to eat somewhere else. "Great location! And the staff was very very nice"
The breakfast was a little skimpy but for the price, and accommodations it was worth it.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Pleasantly surprised; hotel nice, great location"
Went for work but enjoyed the old town ambiance and great main street to get exercise and have dinner.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very comfortable bed!"
Overall, a pleasantly decorated and maintained room. It was a little noisy during the night, but it was rodeo week-end! Very accommodating staff, and good restaurant next door.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Historical and accommodating"
The hotel itself has a lot of character. Our room was located near the front of the building, which made for loud traffic noises throughout the night. However, the room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the fact that the hotel has an adjoining boutique and restaurant, so finding a place to have dinner once we settled in was easy and enjoyable!Genuine Expedia guest review
"a wonderful hotel"
i think my stay in sonora inn was aamezing, thank you so much guys you were very helpful and welcoming and nice i have beautiful souvenirs of you thank you again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Historic hotel in great location!"
We had a great stay at the Sonora Inn. The hotel is an historic building that has a lot of character, but is comfortably updated. The rooms have a Euro feel, small but charming. Creaky stairs and a rattly elevator only add to the appeal. A pretty lobby, free parking and internet, and a complimentary continental breakfast are included in the very reasonable […] price. The location in the heart of old town Sonora is perfect, with many restaurants and shops nearby. There is considerable street noise on this busy corner, but it didn't bother us. The staff couldn't have been more pleasant. My only real complaint is that, quite frankly, terrible coffee is served with the otherwise very adequate, complimentary breakfast consisting of a variety of breads and cereals, toppings, waffles, fruit, juice, and hard boiled eggs. Thankfully we found a local coffee shop two doors down with good coffee, albeit a surly barista. We look forward to our next visit! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Loved the hotel and location. Bathroom and hall were slanted but I guess that would be normal for a hotel built in the 1800'sGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Walking distance to restaurants, shopping and historical sights. Old charm. Friendly service. Great price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"No fan in the bathroom"
Friendly staff welcoming lobby great breakfast fast internet but no bathroom fan and parking was a problemGenuine Expedia guest review
"Stay at Sonora Inn"
I stayed at Sonora in for two nights shortly before Christmas. The place has an odd location for parking (across the street behind the place in a lot shared with another motel) but is a very good hotel. The breakfast could have had more choices but the place is comfortable and very well decorated.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Charming in the heart of Sonora"
We parked on the street & went in to ask about parking. It's behind the hotel. We were checked in at 11:00 AM as in the off season rooms were ready. We were upgraded at no extra cost. Ask for a room away from Hwy 49 as it's a bit noisy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Rooms were tiny. The hallways were ice cold. But the tiny rooms heated up quickly. Quaint, old hotel but not too cozy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice older hotel"
While the hotel is old, that is part of it's charm. However I was quite disappointed in two Items: 1. California is in a major drought and it was 15 minutes to get hot water, once there it came and went but was of tolerable temperature. Once reported to the hotel it was just said that it is a historic hotel and they can't change the pipes. This is a […] cop out, the fact is, although not "proven" the hotel uses older "on demand" water heaters and they are not efficient. 2. The wireless internet was horrible in my room, had signal but dropped constantly. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect for parade day"
Stayed two nites for the Christmas parade, perfect location, watched from one of the hallway balconies! Easy walk to all of downtown shops and food. Great staff, nice renovation last year, kept the historical feel. Breakfast was basic but adequate. Will stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quaint place for the holidays!"
Comfort & hospitality of the hotel was great! Very clean rooms, reasonable rates. The Italian restaurant attached was fantastic. So festive with the holiday lights & all merchants were very nice!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"recently remodel hotel"
the hotel was clean, newly remodel but with a stylish charm........staff really friendly....very low price....I was really satisfied with my stayGenuine Expedia guest review
We stayed here for one night mid week. The rooms were perfect for a one night stay, extremely comfortable bed, good selection of tv channels. Cute mix of old vintage style with updated amenities like a coffee pot. The breakfast was extremely average continental. Could improve breakfast with some fresh fruit items.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cool Historical Hotel"
We really loved this place! Loved having the feel of old Sonora history. Be aware that it is vintage plumbing and loud heating AC unit. We even loved the antique elevator. Will stay here again next time we visit gold country. Also, the price was very reasonable.Genuine Expedia guest review
Enjoyed our stay at the Sonora Inn. Staff was very accommodating in this interesting historic hotel. But street facing rooms can be noisy until late in the night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Would stay there again"
With the exception of a slow drain in the bath we loved everything. It is an old building but for me that is a plus since it has been so well maintained. The restaurant is a great place to have breakfast. Every staff member seemed to care about their jobs and the guest's experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I enjoy old historic places and the Sonora Inn fit the bill. The Staff was outstanding and the attention to detail was great. The mix of Old and New is well done. Sonora is an old historic town and to me what better place to stay than an old historic hotel right in the middle of everything. I went for a Golf weekend and it was nice to come back to the […] Hotel after a round. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
