We were shocked when we saw the thread bare sheet. We never been in a hotel that you could see through the sheet. Our rooms surrounded the lobby so we were woke up when they prepared the breakfast.

I liked that there was a coffee maker, microwave oven, and refrigerator in the room so that I could keep food.....Lamar is lacking good restaurants. Check in and out was easy and efficient. The room comfortably provided us with all of the basics and even had a refrigerator. However, I didn't like the lack of an elevator. We are retired and it is much more welcoming not to have a stairway to negotiate on the way in and out. The free breakfast included some hot items and it was tasty and fresh enough. […] Nevertheless, early breakfast patrons could be heard from our room and this woke me from sleep (but not my wife). I suppose that asking for a quieter room away from the lobby would address this. Lamar is a town that is on the edge of cattle and petroleum interests; sometimes the odors in town can be very strong as they were when we arrived. After traveling about 18 hours, we were anxious to get to our hotel. The hotel check in staff was very courteous and we were in our room within minutes of our arrival. ONce in the room we noticed that the carpet was damp by the airconditioning unit, but thought that maybe they had just cleaned it, so we turned on the airconditioner, and after a few […] minutes we noticed that the floor by the airconditioner was extremely wet!! We immediately told the manager and they moved us to a different room right away. Both rooms were very clean. The bed was very comfortable and the room had a small refrigerator and microwave, a very nice bonus! The pool was small, but perfect for us because there were no other people in it when we were. This hotel was clean, but could definitely use an update. It was acceptable for staying one night. The breakfast was also pretty sparse. It really wasn't too bad though. There are not a lot of choices in Lamar and we were just passing through. I would not have wanted to stay much longer than the one night.
