"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.

We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.
""Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.
"Nice hotel in the theatre district"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel in the theatre district. Friendly and helpful staff. Basic room accomodations but very clean. Would recommend.

"Tired hotel until they renovate"
Did not say most rooms were being renovated. Bathrooms were dated.
"Good Stay - Be Warned of resort fee"
Nice staff, good location, reasonable price. Just be warned they charge a daily "fee" that you can't opt out of, so the price you are quoted is less than the actual cost of the room.
"Refurbishing"
The hotel is refurbishing, hence the aircondition (warm and cold) is down. We were freesing our arses off. Only one elevator functioning during daytime. at checkout they w anted extra 25j USD per day for service? What service? Maybe the noice, the cold or...the one elevator???? A no no at the moment
"Nice neighborhood but where is the hot water?"
At first glance, this is a grea hotel. Very small and cozy and tucked in the cute part of Manhattan but there was a lot of noise going on (about to start construction) and the mystery of no heat in the evening and hard to get hot water late in the day and the evening. Hot water was fine in the morning, just disappears later in the day. The room was […] nice and cozy but disappointed with the noise, lack of hot/warm water, and no heat at night. Might stay again, but would not run back. Read more
"NYC Roger Williams"
Made reservations via HOTEL.COM; was not happy when I went to check in and found that I had to pay two hidden FEES.......$20 a for the use of WiFi and $20 a day for the use of the gym. If I know this before hand via HOTEL.COM at least I would have packed my gym gear and lab top. I could have use the $40 for a meal.

"Terrific Find"
The hotel was recommended to me by a friend knowing I prefer small, boutique hotels. Even though I arrived late at night, the staff was helpful and cheerful. The ambience is contemporary with many bright color accents. Add to this an excellent location and it would be hard to find a better place.

"Hotel Roger Williams in NYC"
Very nice european style hotel...read small rooms but excellent breakfast and perfectly located. The down side was a very weak view from the room and the TV was kaput...so no NFL playoff joy.

For the past 2 years we have been searching for a hotel generally near Madison Park so that we might be close to the relative whom we visit. For price and location, Roger Williams is the best so far. Typically the rooms at other hotels are smaller and, at our price point, closer to the street noise. On our visit to the RW, we were upgraded to a king […] size bedroom on a higher floor and it made all the difference. yes, we will come back. Read more
"Hotel close to everything"
The room are clean but a litter small Me and my wife had great time
My stay at The Roger Williams was thoroughly enjoyable. I have already recommended it to my friends.
"nice hotel"
Nice place, very confortable roomm, cozy king bed, good shower, good everything!
"Nice hotel, strange bathroom"
The hotel was very nice, great location, clean rooms and pretty spacious for Manhatan, friendly and helpful staff. The only downside was the bathroom. It was small but very nicely done. However it had a sliding door and both the sliding door and the wall separating the bathroom from the small entryway were made out of glass. There was etched film covering […] the glass so you could not see straight through it, but once the lights inside the bathroom were on... you did not have much privacy from the rest of your roommates. I wish the film they used to cover the door/wall was darker or at least more solid. With this said overal this was an excellent hotel especially for the price. Read more

"Location, location"
I will simply say that location is the key to this hotel's success and attraction. In comparison to other hotels I've stayed at in other cities, this one was average. While the room was comfortable, the bathroom was something less desirable. The hot water in the shower would take about 10 minutes to come up, not to mention that the drain would constantly […] get clogged up. Also, I was surprised when checking out of the hotel with a 'service fee' that was supposedly added when booking through this website. Overall, it's a great location but the quality of the hotel was average. Read more
"Anniversary stay"
For our anniversary, I wanted to bring my wife to a decent boutique hotel at an affordable price in a nice neighborhood. We were very pleased with the room; not huge, but who needs that? Bed, linens, bathroom all great (though it took a while for the hot water to reach our 5th fl shower). Initially, we were sent to a room that was not even put together […] -- the box spring was leaning against the wall! When we laughingly reported this, the hotel found the (computer) error, gave us another room, and comped us on brunch -- which was really superb! Read more

"Hotel Roger Williams in New York"
The bathroom was extremely small, it had residential plumbing. We had to call twice in 3 days, plumbing problems. The cable didn't work on some channels. On check out we were told that there was a $19.00 fee per day plus tx for hotel upkeep. This is a Clip Joint!!!
"Hotel Roger Williams"
Bad review not related to above comments, and it may be related to Hotels.com, is a daily fee of $19/day charged by the hotel over and above fee paid to Hotels.com.

"The Roger Williams Hotel-midtown-East-NYC"
The Roger is a nice hotel, spacious for NYC, the bathroom is tiny, but nice. There's next to no closet space & no drawers to put clothes away. The bed is comfy and the towels are soft. The AC is moderately loud so if you're a light sleeper bring earplugs. It's not bad at all and a must in the summer. The staff is friendly and helpful. Overall it's a […] good choice & a fine location while visiting NYC. Read more
"Watch for extra service fees at checkout"
This is a nice hotel, close to Penn Train Station, Empire State Building and Time Square (all in walking distance). After booking online and paying taxes and fees we were hit with an addirional service fee at checkout.
"No better choice"
We have stayed many times in various hotels in NYC. Hotel Roger Williams is the best. Fine workout facilities (not big but adequate), great breakfast and they allowed me to take a second plate to my room to eat while I worked, very fresh decor, well maintained, and very helpful staff at door, desk, and restaurant (which was open until midnight). Will […] not stay anywhere else on future trips to NYC. Read more
"Nice hotel!"
I had really a nice stay at this hotel, with very good staffs serving us. My only small complain is about the size of the bathroom, but nothing to say which is a matter to avoid the hotel.
"Great Hotel"
I was very satisfied with my stay in this hotel. It was very clean, personal were very helpful and friendly, and their food was delicioous. (I ordered room service oceana salad, definitely recommended.) The room I stayed was smaller than any other hotel I may stay in different city, but hey it is NYC and I assure you you can not find any large size […] room in that price. Read more

"Roger Williams - great boutique hotel in Manhattan"
Really enjoyed our stay at this boutique hotel in the heart of Manhattan. The staff were very helpful and friendly and our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Great location and easy to get to sights, subway, shops and restaurants.

"Well-located boutique but be warned..."
The hotel is well-maintained and the staff are amazingly helpful and friendly. I was traveling for business at NYU and it was one of the less expensive options, closer to a subway and only 4 blocks' walk to the med center! If you're used to luxurious hotel bathrooms, however, keep looking. The one in my room was no bigger than 4'x3' excluding the shower […] - it's hard to believe it met building codes. If you have lots of toiletries, be prepared to use a desk to store them on. The corridors are also very narrow. The decor of the hotel and the rooms was nice, Euro-style efficiency furniture and lively jewel-tones. My room was an inside room (ie, view of another wall with little natural light), but that didn't bother me as they hide it nicely. Ask for a view, though, if you're spending any amount of time in your room. Yes, one of those with multiple windows overlooking the ESB. Expect a good sleep - the beds, linens and temperature were perfect for an atypically cold and rainy April. Morning is a bit tougher - no coffee maker in the room, no paper. You just have to get dressed and walk across the street to the small deli (or to the breakfast buffet on the mezzanine). The service fee was not mentioned when I checked in, nor was there an explanation of what it included, but it was disclosed to me when I booked so it did not catch me by surprise. I believe it's for local phone calls and WiFi. I travel frequently and have found that even full-blown resorts that do offer services for 'service fees' are starting to let them go. I would prefer a $20 higher room rate than pay for services I don't/won't use. This is not a good city-hotel business model and will be infuriating if you're out all day and only use your room to sleep, shower and shave. Really, who uses hotel phones any more? I'd rather pay a reasonable Internet fee for the one day I actually needed it. The rest of it was money out the window. (And is subject to increase without notice, btw!! Mine went up a dollar d Read more
"Roger Williams: Great staff, great rooms"
The hotel staff was friendly and knowledgeable and always ready to help. The rooms were very nice, and i had a great view of the city. Fantastic stay
"Super helpful staff but a "resort" fee?"
1st room was freezing cold and within 10 minutes of a call to the front desk to remedy the MANAGER came to our room with keys for a new room that was much larger (and warmer!). No questions asked. That kind of service will keep me recommending the Roger Williams. Only downside...$19 "resort" fee mandatory..includes Net access and free local calls (really?). […] This fee left a bad taste in my mouth but manager's helpfulness and staff friendliness outweighs in a positive way. Read more

"The "Roger" in NYC..affordable and NO BED BUGS"
Loved the "Roger"..We will definitely go back sometime. Thank you so much to Catherine for the complimentary bottle of Champagne. What a nice surprise. The beds are extremely comfortable and NO BED BUGS!! a real perk. The bath rooms are a bit small..get in an get out. LOL Overall LOVED IT and location is great.
"Disappointed"
The front door and desk staff are very nice and friendly. - The Bathroom is very small - The Heating / Air Conditioning are loud and could not keep the room at a comfortable temperature. - We were charged an additional $19.00 dollars upon arrival; The description on the bill was a service fee. (?)
