This was my second time staying at this hotel. The first stay exceeded my expectations, but this time it was just so-so. My issue was with the check-in desk. I reserved a deluxe room, but when I arrived there were no deluxe rooms available. I was told, "go do something" and they would work on it. I also had to prove that I had actually booked the deluxe room, which was rediculous. The matter was eventually solve two hours later. I do like the hotel, but might look around at comprable hotels the next time....

I'm a travel agent and have stayed at a lot of New York Hotels, all larger than the Roger Williams. I really enjoyed this hotel, the rooms were very comfortable with very nice bathrooms. The hotel is convenient and not too far from major attractions. The Lounge area was great for lunch and dinner with good food, very quiet and relaxing place to eat and have cocktails away from the noise of NY. Service from all staff was 100%.

Overall, this hotel visit was very pleasant. The room itself was fantastic, with modern features and decor. The bathroom was very nice, and room was spacious. Only two negatives: First, I was not given the room I reserved - I booked a deluxe room with king size bed and view of madison ave. I got a smaller room, queen size bed and no view. I called the front desk and luckily the issue was resolved. Second, the elevators are very slow and only work by using your hotel room key every time. Can be a nuisance after a while.

We did not find our room size, including the bathroom size, to qualify as a "Deluxe" accomodation. Also, a small window, with a view of nothing, behind the bed, covered by "sliding doors" and electric shade, making us feel like we were in a cave, didn't match up to "deluxe." Bathroom size is ridiculously small. The furniture and the room size was incongruous. When sitting at the desk, it was not possible for the other person to pass to the other side of the bed, on account of the bench at the foot of the bed. The bed was clean and comfortable. Appreciated the introduction to the book in the room, "City Secrets." Did not sample restaurant or fitness features. In summary, our room was disappointing. Have enjoyed better accomodations for same or less expense. We are frequent NYC visitors.

There was no heat in the room. I woke up freezing. Called the desk to fix and they send me a spaceheater. The spaceheater helped, but it certainly made it difficult to regulate the room temperature. To make matters worse, before I went to checkout I noticed a cockroach on the floor of the room. I sent an email complaining about the stay and have still recevied no response.

The whole town is overpriced, particularly hotels, but that said, the Roger Williams is a nice little hotel with a decent value proposition. Plenty of amenities (bar, restaurant, gym, free hi-speed Internet), and very nice employees. The hotel was recently renovated. All the rooms have big LG flat screens and nice desk chairs. The bed was a little broken down on the telephone side, but otherwise the room was pretty nice and even spacious for Manhattan.

I've stayed here a few times and have had a good experience each time. The interior of the hotel (lobby, rooms, etc) is very nice, especially for the room rate I paid. The rooms are a little on the small side, however, they are nicely appointed with modern furniture, beds and bathrooms. This last visit was for my wedding anniversary. When talking with the front desk staff, they upgraded us to a penthouse room. The rooms was not much larger than the premium room, however it did have a nice patio off of it with some plants and comfortable chairs. The breakfast buffet is a little expensive, but the food was good. The hotel isn't terribly convenient to any one specific area, however, with it's central location it is a quick cab or subway ride to most of Manhattan.

It was definitely worth the extra $20 for a deluxe room as we ended up on the penthouse floor with a small balcony. Room was decent size for the price. Very expensive food/water/minibar in room. Flatscreen TV had a black bar across the screen, but maintenance fixed it within 20 minutes of notification. Very centrally located in mid-town with short cab ride everywhere. Hotel.com came to my rescue, got me out of a very nasty hotel and secured a great room at the Roger Williams at a very good rate and saved my vacation. The service people could not have been nicer. The room was bright and airy. I will definately stay at the Rodger Williams Hotel again.

This hotel is great for the nightly rate. We stayed one night and booked the hotel when it was on a sale. We were very satisfied with our room. It was clean and well kept. The location of the hotel was excellent! A few short blocks to Macy's and the Empire State Building. It was very safe as there was always a doorman at the front door and you needed a room key to access the elevators. Check-in and out were very quick and all of the workers were exceptionally nice. Our only minor complaint was the pillows. They were very uncomfortable and we both woke up in the morning with very puffy, black eyes. Maybe we were both allergic to them? Who knows but that was our only complaint. Also, the room supplies everything you can think of to purchase. You can purchase a robe, umbrella, food, drinks, toothbrush, intimacy set, etc right in your room.
