Nice staff and comfortable hotel.I was there for a business trip and it was a nice stayGenuine Expedia guest review
I am disappointed with the room assignment. On checking the reception stated that they were booked out for the month. I had paid extra for a mountain city view and instead I got a view of the wall of a close by hotel as well as the black roof beneath my window. This is not good enough and needs to be stopped. On checkout the manager stated she would […] give me an upgrade on my next stay which is unlikely. I hope this false ad is solved Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Okay hotel for a family."
The hotel is getting old, ready for an update, but the comfort of the bed was suburb as always. The shower door was worthless, more water on the floor than down the drain. Expedia told use rollaway beds were available, when we booked through them over the phone, but Doubletree staff stated they did not provide any. Staff was VERY helpful in providing […] with linens so we could build a bed on the floor for our 8 year old. Be sure to have $29 handy as they do not provide an airport shuttle. "Friendly hotel staff but bad facilities"
The hotel staff could not be friendlier, including the bellmen, maids, and desk clerks. The problems we had were with the hotel's faclilties. The gym was crowded, too small for a hotel this size. They had one machine capable of exercising shoulders and triceps, and this was missing the hadgrips necessary for these exercises. The only bike was not working […] properly. Out at the pool, there was no attempt to make the area attractive and inviting. Just a small outdoor pool surrounded by concrete, no plants, not something you would expect in a Hilton chain hotel. "Nice family hotel."
Hotel staff was very pleasant. Clean room but a bit small for 2 queen beds and 4 adults. It was a good 15-20 minute walk to the shops and restaurants and beach. The cookies are delicous!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great place to stay!"
The staff were so friendly and quite helpful! From the moment we got there we felt right at home and well taken care of. Thanks to everyone at the Doubletree!Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was nice. The only bad thing is you have to pay $30 a day to park your car there. There is no self parking only Valet. So I was not too happy about that. Other then that no compliants.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Definitely NOT a vacation destination!"
Although the Doubletree was clean and well-maintained, the customer service was not up to par. When we arrived, only one of the two rooms we had booked was reserved. On the second night of our stay when we attempted to order room service, the restuarant was out of everything we wanted to order, so we ordered other items off the menu. We then waited […] over an hour for a bowl of soup and a dessert! The pool was very small with a view of noisy parking lots and the backside of another building. We were staying at the hotel to attend a conference, but they would not validate our parking pass because we were overnight guests and not just parking for the day (we were charged $30 per night for parking). If you are staying in Waikiki for a conference at the Doubletree, and want to also enjoy all that beautifull Oahu has to offer, my advice would be to stay at another hotel and walk to your conference! "It was fine."
Nothing special, but the location was decent. I don't like the idea of having to pay an extra 35.00/night for parking and having to valet EVERY TIME you need to get back to the room. Bathrooms were pretty snug too. I am glad we stayed in Waikiki first, and them went to Maui....I would have been very disappointed if it were the other way around.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not a very good beginnning, but it's still ok"
Overall it's a good experience. Just one thing I have to mention is the night when we checked in. We booked a non-smoking King room with oceaview. But we were into a 2-Qun smoking room without any notification in advance! We called the front desk when we realized it but the receptionist responded that we had to wait till the next day and waited how […] to solve it. It was really quite unprofessional answer! We came back to the front desk and negotiated with him for a non-smoking room at least. He still said he did not know what's goning on because the King room was sold out already and the 2-Qun smoking room was the only choice for us. We insisted the order was pre-paid and we were confirmed our room will be kept till midnight. How can it be sold out and we have to go to a 2-qun room with smoking & non-ocean view? We deserve the room we booked. Finally we get a 2-qun non-smoking sweet room for one night and we moved to the correct room for the following days. But it is really not a pleasant beginning at double tree. Fortunately, it went very well for the next days. Still a good holiday at Waikiki. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Ok Location, Very Small Rooms"
We only stayed one night and I'm glad that was all. First, I was not ready to have to pay $30 to park. Maybe that is my fault but it didn't start things on the right foot. Next, the room was very small for two adults and two teenagers. There were no counters in the bathroom which forced bathroom stuff into the already small room. On the plus side, […] the location was good for us. We weren't concerned about the beach so the access to restaurants and shopping was nice. We had to walk a few blocks but that felt good after th plane flight. I could stay there again but I'd probably wa t to try something else in the same price range. I'm much happier in Kauai. "Hilton Alana Waikiki is nice"
Visiting Hawaii for 2 weeks. Stayed at 3 different hotels. This is the best of 3. Room is small like all the hotel rooms in Honolulu. But it is well organized and have a lot of space for luggages. $30 a night for parking, valet only. Attendants are very friendly. I would stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A reasonable budget alternative"
The hotel is nothing special, but it is a perfectly fine alternative if you don't mind being a couple of blocks away from the beach. I only stayed there because I was at a conference at the Hilton Hawaiian village, and the block of rooms at the Village was sold out. But I really had no complaints.Genuine Expedia guest review
"like the Hilton hotels."
I usually stay at Embasy Suites, but I wanted to try a hote near the Ala Moana shopping center. The hotel is ok, since it is a Hilton chain hotel, and I was pleased with evrything, but I stil prefer the Embassy Suites, in Honolulu.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good for Business Traveler. Great Location."
I've traveled to Hawaii, both on business & on pleasure. This trip was business. Room was setup nice to do work at with a laptop. Breakfast buffet was quality. Location of the hotel was just right, not too far into Waikiki, not too far away. Easy to get in & out with little congestion. Well staffed hotel. They accommodated every need I had, including […] printing documents from my email downstairs. Pretty easy. I would definitely recommend this hotel. And I will be coming back on my next trip. Very comfortable stay, bathroom a little small but nice walk-in shower. Hotel was very accomodating in offering room upgrade to king with late check out free of charge.Genuine Expedia guest review
What a savior!, this wasnt' the hotel we had booked inititally with the Expedia package. The other hotel "Waikiki resort hotel" where we were inititally booked was incredibly rude and made some offensive comments about my kids, we made on the spot decision to check into another hotel that belonged to Hilton's family. Doubletree is a decent property, […] kids loved the daily cookies. Beds were clean, two queen beds accomodated us pretty well. Fridge was helpful, only thing lacking was a microwave (you can rent it for $). Location is pretty good near Hilton Hawaii Village and other nice restaurants. Overall satisfied not terribly jazzed. Word of advise: Just stay away from Waikiki Resort Hotel (they charged me one night for their rude comments!). Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"DoubleTree Alana: geared towards business traveler"
For a hotel in Waikiki, this hotel is overly targeted at business travelers. For instance, they don't have brochures for any of the many activities available in the area. The location is convenient relative to the locations of other hotels in the area. You pay a $30 a night premium to be closer to the beach when in fact, this hotel is just about a […] 7 minute leisurely walk to the Hilton Hawaiian village which has a public beach area that's accessible to all. Housekeeping is a bit slow. For example, they came into our room around 1PM in the afternoon. Not complaining really. Just an observation. The pool is small but the exercise room is nice. Good place all things considered. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Would consider staying again"
The hotel was nice. My husband and I were upgraded to a king suite which was lovely. There are a few drawbacks to the hotel. First, the elevators in the hotel are very small so my entire party (8 in all) and our luggage had to take several different elevators. Second, the hotel allows dogs which is not so bad if Fido weighs 10 pounds but some of the […] guests had dogs that looked more like horses. Imagine getting into a small elevator with a dog like that. Third, the pick-up/ drop-off in the front of the hotel is not that large. When our shuttle dropped us off at the hotel from the airport the driver had to practically let us out in the street because the area was full of other cars. For the most part the hotel staff was very helpful. We requested a late check out since our tour left at 6am. While the hotel was not able to grant us the late check out the valet was able to hold our bags for us which I definitely appreciated. There is a hostel a few doors down from the hotel that could use a little improving. The clientele of the hostel seemed a little questionable. There were several people hanging around outside. They did not come down to the hotel so I don't think hotel guests have had any problems but it is something to be aware of. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Wonderful tripGenuine Expedia guest review
1. We checked into the hotel, and the next day I found numerous bug bites on my ankles. The following day, we found something that looked like fleas, when I called the front desk, they said they would hae to send someone up to check it out. The maintenance guy showed up, and he found the same thing. We were then told "we are going to have to move you!" […] Our "reasonable" accommodation was a smaller room, on a smoking floor, when I have requested non-smoking when checking in. I only realized after we have unpacked everything, it it was too much to pack up and move again in the middle of the night. I was told "we are a pet-friendly hotel," so sometimes bugs would travel room to room!?? 2. After checking in, we found out that there's a $29/day for valet parking only, self-parking is not available. I was happy to pay the fee, but then by the third day, the valet attendant caused a dent on the car when backing into the parking spot. We were told that the hotel would take full responsibility, and all the paperwork. However, the next morning, we were told that the police would be coming over to write a report, and we had to stay put!? I was not at all happy, so my husband called back to get a time frame, since we were on vacation and did not want to wait at the hotel all day! Overall, I would give this hotel a 2 because of the bugs found in my bed. Terminal cleaning should have been done to prevent this problem. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Doubletree really IS pet friendly"
We had a hard time finding a hotel in Waikiki where we could stay with our large dog - Doubletree allows dogs up to 75 pounds! All other hotels close by that allow dogs have a weight limit of 25 pounds or less. Staff was very helpful and courteous and made sure we were taken care of. Made our move back to the mainland much less stressful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Newly remodeled, great location, good staff - $30/day valet parking"
We recently stayed at this hotel on our visit to Waikiki. The hotel ws recently remodeled and the rooms looked almost brand new. If you are looking to stay in Waikiki it is in a wonderful location - a 30 minute walk to the "main section" of the Waikiki shiops, and within easy walking distance of a bunch of shops, restaurants, the Hilton Towers (see […] the fireworks on Friday nights), and the Ala Moana shopping center. The staff is polite and very helpful (they have printed directions to major attractions) and of course, don't forget the free trademark Double Tree Chocolate cookies that you get everyday (they are warm so pick them up right when you are ready to eat them. No free wifi or Internet, but check-in/printing of airline tickets is free. Valet parking only @ $29/day + tips. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The staff of the Double Tree was very helpful! The complimentary cookies at the front desk were awesome too. There was no bathtub in our room just a shower, I don't know if all rooms are that way. The hotel was very modern & nice.. As well as the workout facility. I really wished there would have been a hot tub. An definitely don't think the breakast […] is complimentary.. You can pay for breakfast in the restaurant in the lobby. Overall the hotel was in walking distance to most everything, the beach is a longer walk but we walked it every time. The guys on the lower level that call for cabs were helpful too.. The staff was excellent! It isn't right smack dab in the middle of all the crazy traffic or right on the beach.. I loved the location. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"less than I expected for the $199 per night"
The room was fine but it just didn't meet my expectations for the tariff. The lighting was dim (and only by lamps) - nothing overhead.Genuine Expedia guest review
This was our third trip to Oahu, with our 4 young kids. We checked in a bit early, front desk was quite pleasant and had our room ready. Loved the fresh baked cookies, especially the children after a long flight! We found the room to be clean and inviting during our stay. Housekeeping was fantastic throughout (although whoever cleaned the room before […] we arrived did not do such a thorough job --my son found a nasty pair of man's used underwear behind the t.v. cabinet while searching for a lost toy! We mentioned this to housekeeping and they apologized for the oversight.) The location is about 10 minutes walk to the beach, shopping, great restaurants all around with every type of cuisine you would want to try! Children loved that there was an IHOP so close -- that's where they ate almost everyday! Too bad WIFI was not available directly in the rooms (surcharge) as compared to the other hotels we've stayed in the past where that was complimentary. My husband ordered take out dinner from their hotel restaurant one evening to bring up to the room, and all I can say is that you will find much better fare elsewhere! Best restaurant we ate at: Benihana's near the Hilton Hawaiian Village, Round Table Pizza for the kids, Todai Seafood Buffet, Hy's Steakhouse. The entire family was in agreement that this was our best vacation yet! Take West Jet's direct flights! One last must do if you are in Oahu: Tour the Kualoa Ranch...it is so beautiful and you will absolutely love it! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
