From the valet to the front desk, the service was very good. We did have an issue with a towel being left in the bathroom from a prior guest and the walls are a little thin making for some sleep issues due to some late night revelers, but overall it was an enjoyable stay and we would go back again.

The hotel is a very nice conserved. But the majority of the business' around are closed. We went for a family trip but is not a hotel for children is more for business people or couples. The food in the night and the 24 hour service is very poor because there wasn't hardly anything in the menu. The beds are very comfortable.

The entire staff was extremely helpful, always pleasant and eager to accommodate any request. The gourmet food in the hotel restaurant would please any connoisseur. My wife and I look forward to our next opportunity to visit the Brown and enjoy the first class service.

The Hotel room was wonderful. However, we ate in their restaurant, "The English Grill". We had reservations for 7:30 pm. We had to wait at the hostess area for 10 minutes before anyone even came to seat us. Once seated, we waited another 15 min. until a waiter even approached our table. The Brown is a very nice hotel - older & quaint but comfortable and centrally located in downtown Louisville. The wireless Internet offering was useless - my 3G Mi-Fi worked much better.

Every single person employed by the Brown was incredibly polite, helpful, and polished. Honestly, Four Seasons / Peninsula-level service. We were very impressed with our whole experience from the Bellman/Valet on up. We traveled with our bicycles and they were very accommodating with storage for us. The room was beyond our expectations! The only minor detraction was that the AC just could not get the room as cool as we would have liked but it was record breaking heat of 106 during our […] visit and nothing wants to stay cool in that weather. We ate dinner in the bar and the food was amazing. Our waitress, Lucy P, went above and beyond good service. We were put up in a handicapped accessible room next to the elevator. Not a big deal since we planned to be out late anyway and not spend much time in the room. The hotel is great, as it always has been when I have been there, except for our bathroom. The tiles in the tub were mismatched and looked pretty tacky, but more importantly, there was black […] scum in the grout lines of the tile. That tells me the tubs probably were not very clean, and not exactly the place I would want to be cleaning myself. I certainly keep my own tub much cleaner, and would expect a hotel, which is cleaned everyday, to be much better. The rest of the room was very nice and clean though. Also, unrelated to the room and our stay, the well done and mealy beef filet they served at the wedding reception was gross, for anyone planning a reception at the hotel. I have stated at many nicer hotels and this was definitely in my top 3. I stayed on a club floor which means you can only get to the floor with the appropriate key. The free hors d'oeuvres, beer, and wine in the evening was so nice. The breakfast in the morning was better then any normal hotel breakfast. I was charged $20.00 for parking, when I was told that valet parking would be free by hotels.com. When I arrived we parked our own vehicle. my friends did the valet and was not charged. I went to the front desk and asked about the charge and they told me because I parked my own car I had to pay the $20.00. Should be noted that the included continental breakfast for certain rooms is not the same as the continental breakfast you could order on the card they leave in the room. The speed-dial buttons on the phone (to call front desk, room service, etc.) did not work. When my wife and I attend an event at The Palace, a venue for live events, on Fourth Street in Louisville, we always stay at The Brown since it is only a half-block or so from one to the other. This time, as always, our stay was delightful. Apparently, there were at least two weddings taking place on the Saturday we were there as well as it being the […] threshold of the Kentucky Derby activities with people being wall to wall, and yet the staff were very kind, cordial and concerned about our well being. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Since we wanted only a snack late Saturday afternoon prior to our attending the performance at The Palace, the kitchen staff was kind enough to split a Kentucky Hot Brown (the hotel's signature food) into two portions for us.
