Room and hotel were both great except the microwave at 4 am started beeping for no reason so I had to stumble through the dark and unplug it wasn't to happy since I had only got to sleep at 2 and had to be up at 7Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great night stay for the great price"
The overall stay was very enjoyable. We did enjoy a nice "Happy Hour" dinner and the breakfast was good too. I loved having a fridge in the room. The only thing was that the microwave wasn't really working, but the maintenance person took care of it immediately. The service was great, the pool was clean, and it was the best stay for our money! "The hotel was in a great spot"
It was a nice place to stay. It is close to many things. The people were very friendly, breakfast was great, and the rooms were very clean. The only downside was that the pool had too much chlorine in it. I would not have any problem having my family stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice staff and cute rooms"
Loved the decor! Cute lobby and rooms! Breakfast was good, however...they never refilled the coffee often enough. The decaf was the first gone, but no one refilled that or the other 2 regulars.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Love the Sleep Inn"
This is the second time I have stayed at a Sleep Inn. First time was in Seiverville Tennesse and the second in Grand Rapids. The rooms are very clean, the bed are very comfortable...and the bedding is so great I actually went home and have been shopping for something similiar! Nice and quiet as well. Staff is friendly and helpful too. It is a very pleasant […] place to stay...would stay again for sure! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The furniture was too large for the room, leaving very little space to move around. Felt cramped. However, the evening snack was a very welcomed surprize.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"close to airport"
We had extremely noisy people in the next room when we called to complain at 1:30 a.m. (had to catch a flight at 4:30 a.m. the front desk did handle the problem). The worst part about the stay was our driver who took us to the airport came back to sleep and got up for breakfast and the lady could NOT keep up with the food. Everything was empty after […] many attempts to get breakfast so instead of making sure all the guest waiting got breakfast she up and closes the breakfast. I doubt I will stay there again. Never been to Sleep Inn & Suites, I was pleased with the layout of the room the beds and pillows are awesome for the price. Wish i could have stay more longer.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Cheaper than surrounding hotels"
The cost was great. The top of the shower had mildew on it. Three times I had to ask the front desk for more pool towels. Once, I was told that they were all in the dryer. We booked the room for 4 people, but only had towel sets for 3.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Good stay--quiet overall. My wife and I had stayed there several years ago, and it appeared to be in a little better condition. It looks like it was really nice, then fell into disrepair, then is being slowly rehabilitated again. The pool was nice, nice wood flooring in spots in the hallway.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Near the Airport"
Not really the best airp[ort location - not within walking distance of any restaurants.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It is always nice to find a home away from home and the breakfast was very nice. My children and I had a wonderful time there and would love to return as soon as possible! Thanks for everything. We saved so much money just being able to enjoy breakfast and snacks right in the comfort of the hotel and it was snowing at the time, so that worked out most […] wonderfully. Reasonably priced, room clean and comfortable. Hallways and elevator could have used some cleaning. Enjoyed the hot breakfast with the eggs and sausage.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Weekdays breakfast and supper included!"
Hotel is good location. They were doing reno work in hall so that's always a big minus as no price adjustment is offered. Room was fine but microwave was not plugged in nor when I did use it easy to get it too go. Bed was ok but it needs to have a pillow top mattress (standard today). Exercise room needs an upgrade badly but treadmill was usable. Breakfast […] buffet was standard and adequate. Sunday to Thursday (?) there is a dinner meal available as well (buffet) which is a nice touch. Generally a quiet hotel but when it rained the dripping on air conditioning unit was loud. Also heater did not turn off automatically so I heated room and then turned it off. It was warm enough to sleep. Pool chlorine level produces a lot of smell in hallway (I was in closest room to it) but not in my romm. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Looking for a last minute room on a business trip during the Fall Art Fair in Grand Rapids, the Sleep Inn & Suites was one of the only hotels in the area I wanted to be in with any availability. The hotel was easy to locate with my GPS, and check-in was very quick and efficient. The property appeared to be recently renovated in all of the public areas, which was a plus. Entering my room, the same appeared to be true......until I went into the bathroom. I had a room with a whirlpool, but the bathroom was vintage to whenever the hotel was built, complete with old - and some broken - tiles, and a generally dated and worn feel. Not the end of the world, but a bit of a let-down. Trucks in the area were also quite a bit noisy throughout the night. I wouldn't stay here again if there were other choices available.

We stayed here for three days during our move. I will admit that the hotel looks a little worn, but we were pleasantly surprised with the hotel during our stay. The room was spacious, beds were comfortable, and the staff was very helpful on several occasions. The bathroom was configured such that the toilet and shower were in a separate room with a door, which was somewhat cramped. The hotel is located near a major thoroughfare (28th street), but it is on a side road so you don't get all of the traffic. Definitely a place to consider when staying in the Grand Rapids area on a budget.

We checked in and immediately discovered the bathroom door was off all tracks. The front desk sent a maintenance man up right away. He was very pleasant and it appeared it would take a few minutes, so we left the room to shop. When we returned the door had been placed on all the tracks (top and bottom). The kids in the hotel ste up all the popcorn and no more was being made although there were a few people who indicated they'd like some. The room was clean and quiet and sleeping was no problem on the comfy beds. On our way home (an hour away from the hotel) I realized I left my book on the bed. I called the Sleep Inn and Ashley said she'd go look for it. She found it and called me to say they would mail the book to me Monday. I gave her the info she required and was pleased that the hotel staff was so efficient, pleasant and kind. Ashley is a collage student who works part-time and I want to give this shout out to her manager in residence and to the owners of the Sleep Inn, as well.

I honestly thought this would be just a mediocre stay because of the price but I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is decorated very nicely and so was our room. The bed was comfortable and the shower had great water pressure. The girl behind the desk offered to make me popcorn when I saw the popcorn stand. I thought that was a special touch and she said it can be popped whenever I wanted some. Everyone that works there is very friendly. I love going to Grand Rapids to experience all of the awesome breweries and will definitely stay there again.
"Very unprofessional staff"

My husband and I visited this hotel on June 2, 2014. I slipped and fell in their shower injuring my left hand as I attempted to break my fall. A bar was in the shower, but it was at the end of the shower where it could not be reached. Since there was no blood, I did not call EMS. The next morning I went to the front desk to report the incident, and before I could even finish the incident report I was told "We will not be paying for this." NOT, were you hurt? When we returned home, we contacted the hotel about the incident and were told I refused treatment (this was totally untrue because I was never given the choice) Bottom line....a hotel chain CHOICE HOTELS should have better customer service when we have spent hundreds of dollars staying in their hotels all over the country!
"Not recommended for families"

My family of 4 checked in here for one night. Check in was smooth and the staff was very friendly. After taking my family and our things to our room, a staff member knocks on the door. He tells us that the carpet was just cleaned earlier in the day and that he wanted to spray the carpet with stain remover. He offered to inquire about getting us a different room because the carpet still smelled. Bonus points for this guy for looking out for my kiddos health. We headed back to the front desk, with all of our stuff, got new keys, and moved into our new room on the second floor. The lock on the door required a lot of elbow grease to lock. The air conditioner took quite a while to cool the room down to a comfortable temperature. The satellite television did not work. There were a few stains on the comforter of one of the beds. Finally, the doors surrounding us close with a loud bang. As I write this review, it is 12:35 am and doors are still slamming every 10 minutes, since before my children went to bed several hours ago. Thankfully, we travel with a sound machine and the air conditioner has not shut off yet. Positives: the room is clean, it's a decent size.

Was close to cheer states that coaches were watching. Shower takes up too much room, no tub was a bummer. Breakfast was ok, staff did all right managing & cleaning up after a child's sickness. Could do with more training. Not enough blankets, beds were kinda hard. Room was clean, TV was good. Hot tub was under maintenance & nothing was mentioned upon reserving or check in. Fireplace area nice for relaxing with coffee or the free popcorn. Heating/cooling could use some changes, ice was formed on our unit overnight.
"Not bad but could use an upgrade/maintenance"
04/12/14 Carla B Battle Creek MI
Nice that the Inn provides shuttle service to the airport, on time and direct. Room small, but adequate; needs some upgrading and maintenance. Phone didn't work (no cord to it) and it took staff several tries to get one to me that did, but they worked hard at it. Nice breakfast, friendly staff. Didn't get to try the pool or hot tub; pool was rather small and quite full when we were there.
"Could be better - Used to love - too many issues"

The new general manager is not friendly as the previous one. Will not allow early check-ins will make you wait until 3 p.m. Free breakfast, heated pool, and hot tub are lovely so is the shuttle and most stuff but many little issues. The hotel needs work to be done by professionals or at least real handy man (not just by the maintenance guys). The non-slip tile in the pool area is new and nice (even on the walls) however the new flooring/tile in the lobby is very slippery and we slipped on it several times. Basically told too bad it has a wet floor sign and and usually only one mat in the entrance and one at the desk. The pillows are hard as a rock (due to choice hotels and the new eco pillows- so go to meijer and buy pillows if you stay here). The hotel still refuses to fix the dryer now for approximately 7 years. Electrical was also an issue for our last stay with outlets being striped, microwave beeping all the time (so unpluged). I wish the owner could actually be contacted but the front desk refuses to pass any of that information on. So if the owner sees this he can contact me (six 1 six 8-zero-2-seven four 05). We used to love this hotel but it is not comfortable and if you cant sleep whats the point?

I came to 29th Street Sleep Inn two nights ago and had issues with my situation. Jasmine, Casey, David , Laurie all took care of me more than I could of anticipated . I manage a bar restaurant in Connecticut and service far exceeds all else . I would hire each and every one of them for my team. Friendly, understanding, a joy to deal with. You are lucky to have these people on your team. Take measures to insure they know of your gratitude as I have
