"Great choice!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Price and location were right. Grounds and maintainance inside and out were above average....flowers blooming everywhere! Front desk friendly and efficient. Room spacious and well appointed with 2 Q beds and new, big, flat screen TV (room 301). Towels were not lush, but there were 4 of them, so no issues!

"Good mid-price choice"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
This is a good choice if North Vancouver is your destination. Lots of shopping and eating in the market below the hotel, which is also where the parking is located. The more upscale and higher priced rooms get you further out towards the water, which can be worth it in terms of quiet and view.
"2 nights in Vancouver."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
Hotel was very clean and new. Hotel is in middle of Chinatown so you won't see many chain restaurants or food other than very traditional Asian.

Dockside Brewing Company - In this ocean-view restaurant that's as popular with locals as it is with visitors, alder-grilled salmon and prime Angus steak compete with gourmet thin-crust pizzas cooked in traditional Italian wood-burning brick ovens. Open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, it features a 50-foot aquarium and floor-to-ceiling windows. Weather permitting, guests can enjoy lunch or dinner on the 208-seat patio, which has heat lamps and sweeping views of the city and harbor.
Dockside Pub - Plush, leather-and-mahogany furnishings and a fireplace set the mood in this casual and intimate retreat that's open daily. Offers lunch and dinner from the Dockside kitchen as well as nine types of beer produced by the hotel's own brewery. House favorite? Chili squid.

"The Grandville Island Hotel is the place to stay!"
If you want to walk to the best shops for quality crafts and interesting imports or watch fine craftsmen ply their trades, catch a great meal with a view of the harbor or just explore the most interesting public market on the west coast, this is where you want to stay. The hotel is clean, comfortable, friendly and best of all, it's in the best location! […] If your visit is short, you must stay here! Read more
"Granville Island Hotel - Great Hotel and Location"
Everything in this hotel worked for us - reception, room, bar, restaurant and an ideal location.
"Tight spaces"
The location is great, the breakfast was outstanding, but the room was way to small for the furniture that was there. We could barely turn around.
"Small but clean room"
The only disappointment was with the size of my room and the key cards that kept failing. Some of the staff were a little snooty and some were very nice. The in room coffee was good and the shower was great!
"Granville Island Hotel"
Very upscale hotel, excellent food in the dining room. However, the "water-view" room was awkward and small with too much furniture in it. There were workers on the deck outside the window looking straight in and the outside lounge was closed for a private function - no one was out there by the fire, but we were not allowed to sit out there. Therefore, […] felt restricted and constricted. Read more
"Great location and restaurant"
Lots to see on the Island, the little ferry boats were fun, and there's a wonderful walking trail all around False Creek. It's a quick drive to Stanley Park. It was an easy walk to English Bay to see the wonderful summer fireworks. The attached restaurant, Dockside, is fabulous. We ate there for breakfast, lunch and dinner and enjoyed it all. Be sure […] to make reservations. Read more

"Nice Stay"
Despite the construction noise from the new patio outside our room until 7pm and the surliness of one of the evening front desk personnel, this hotel is a gem! The location is fabulous. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, and we were steps away from the marina. The restaurant was inventive and quite good. I highly recommend this hotel […] . Read more
"Nice location, small room, up-dated fixtures, bad beer"
We stayed on a weekday night when a major concert was in town and had a very good experience. The hotel has a great location, right smack dab on Granville Island and is located just far enough away from the market so that there is virtually zero noise from traffic. The lobby is a bit confusing because the location of the check-in desk and elevator are […] tucked around a corner. We stayed in a King room that had been noticeably updated. The combination of old quasi-functioning bathtub fixtures, a brand new flatscreen television, beautiful pillowtop king bed, and an incredibly quirky 70's era heating and cooling system all tell you that this place has been refurbed a few times. The business center on our floor was well equipped and offered slow but free internet. The room although nicely adorned was a bit cramped and somehow they shoe-horned a desk with chair (which was unusable because of it's closeness to the foot of the bed) into the room. We also noticed that the low-hung windows in the bathroom would need to be shuttered closed if someone needed privacy. The bathtub was large enough for the both of us to sit in together without feeling uncomfortable, yet the showerhead was mounted loosely and produced an awkwardly variable spray making it nearly impossible to shower without holding the showerhead in one hand. The hotel parking was excellent and bettered that if you had to pay the hourly fee per Granville island. There is also an excellent water-taxi that the hotel staff recommended when attending an event or crossing the inlet etc. We ate lunch at the hotel's Dockside Brewery restaurant and left being very satisfied and somewhat impressed with the food. The smoked salmon penne pasta and Bison Burger were both very good-excellent. However their housebrewed beer left me incredibly disappointed, it was insipid and uninspired. I'm an experienced homebrewer and have tasted hundereds of beers and these beers are unfortunately well below-average and their flavor showc Read more

"Fantastic location"
/the location can't be beat - it's the only hotel right smack in Granville Island.
"A little gem"
Though the hotel was not in the heart of downtown Vancouver, it was ideally situated for exploring the city.I loved the fact it was next door to the famous "Public Market" a must see for any foodie (of which I am). We enjoyed dinner and I can't express enough how fantatic the service was.Our waiter's name was Grant and he bent over backwards for us, […] he got us a table overlooking False Creek and was extremely charming. "very good with one important exception"
very satisfied with one very important exception: the room air conditioner cycled on and off in a somewhat noisey manner; the second night I turned it on max/high and that seemed to cure it. Ken S.

Close to a lot of great things to see and do.
"Great Hotel!"
Location, room, staff, cleanliness etc all fabulous! I would not hesitate to recommend this based on our experience. Don't miss the indoor market - Foodies paradise!
"Very un-accomidateing"
A wedding party was staying at this hotel 12 guests total with a total of 4 rooms 2 of which were penthouse suites. The staff at the front desk told us at 7:30 pm they had noise complaints and threatened to charge us if it continued. They then told the groom on his wedding day if they had a repeat of the previous night they would charge us for two rooms […] they had to comp the night before. Very uncalled for. To add insult to injury on the night of the wedding we arrive to our hotel room to find all 3 of our keys don't open the door. When I asked the guy at the front desk if there was any particular reason they keys were shut off he responded with "yes, we had noise complaints last night and wanted to see who was staying in that room" anyways nice hotel and everything but I would never give them another dime. "THE hotel on Granville Island!"
This was the last hotel on our 5 week trip in Canada, before returning to Australia. We had 1.5 days in Vancouver. (We had started our holiday in Vancouver, staying in a hotel Downtown. On that occasion, we did Stanley Park, Gastown, etc.) This hotel was chosen because we particularly wanted to spend a day/night in the Granville Island area. It's ideally […] located for exploring Granville Island and surrounds. (It's probably a bit too far from the attractions listed above) The hotel is old on the outside, but modern and new on the inside.! . (Granville Island itself is not "pretty" - it's a converted industrial area, full of markets & artisan workshops.. But that's the beauty of the place!) Hotel staff were very friendly, helpful. Our room wasn't the biggest in the hotel, but it was comfy, modern -and clean! The restaurant at the hotel is excellent - both meals & the service) ( and not too badly priced, either!) Would gladly stay at this hotel again. Read more
It would be nice to offer complementry juce & coffee in the morning. However the dinning facilities are excellent.
"Granville Island Hotel"
The location of this hotel could not be better - right in the heart of bustling Granville Island. Downtown is a short 10 min bus ride away, a stroll along the sea wall will take you as far as you like, there are ferries up and down False Creek and there's no traffic outside your window. The rates are reasonable and the staff friendly and helpful. The […] gym/jacuzzi/sauna could do with a bit of updating. Some of the rooms have adjoining doors and the noise can travel fairly easily between them, but there's so much to see and do in the area that you're outside of the hotel most of the time anyway. "loved it!"
we stayed at the granville on our last night in vancouver and it was the perfect choice. the hotel staff were wonderful, the room was gorgeous with a huge king bed as well as an ipod docking station which was a nice perk. we were close to amazing restaurants like Sandbar and only a few minutes from downtown by cab or to stadium skytrain and science […] world by seabus. i would definitely stay here again on my next trip to the city. the staff here make this hotel a perfect 10. "Beautiful environment"
The Hotel has a good infrastructure and an excellent Resturant Service. Grenville Island is a beautiful environment for evening relaxation. A hotel on Grenville Island is perfect, because one do not need to drive after a nice dinner and an evening with some drinks.
