Major let down after our 2 prior days stay at beautiful hotel accommodations for much less on Vancouver Island, Victoria and Tofino. We would not stay at this hotel again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Favorite Spot in Vancouver"
I've stayed at the Granville Island Hotel since first coming to Vancouver in 1994. The hotel has undergone numerous upgrades since then, but the most compelling reason to keep returning is Granville Island itself. Great theatre, events, artisan shopping and dining is available on the island with fast access to most of Vancouver by ferry or taxi. Beyond […] that, the service is always friendly and the hotel provides a great gym with a sauna and business center. The parking on Granville Island is very limited, and availability varies with season. So you might want to check with the hotel ahead of time about available space. Small room but meets your needs for overnight hotel stay. Good hotel location to lots of eating establishments and central market area is outstanding! Loved the outside seating & bar area of hotel -- right on the water.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location and extremely cozy"
Was greeted warmly by the staff, the room was well appointed and the hotel is right in the mix of Granville Island. Will definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Superb Hotel-Awesome location"
Everything was outstanding! Except perhaps that the restaurant lost interest in serving the hotel guests on Mothers Day Morning as they were all booked up for brunch and couldnt provide room service or coffee. But hey! Just outside the door (Granville Island Market) is a spectacular array of every kind of delicacy you can imaging. We are going back […] soon! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Our Vacation on Granville Island"
Our vacation was fantastic...wish we could have stayed for a couple more weeks. The location was excellent...close to The Market Place, local sites, stores like Roots, Costco....a fun experienceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Only hotel on granville island...close, comfy.."
2 nights & 3 days at GIH. We cycled the seawall from stanley park to jericho park, grazed the market, great bites and brews at Wiks, sake tasting at osake, street buskers, bc public tv is a model and fun to watch when just chilling in the room. Booking w Expedia did not include parking fee as advertised, a minor & awkward disappointment at check in […] time. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location to downtown Vancouver."
The location was great. The room was a bit small and right next to the hotel's brewery, so a bit noisy. It was clean and comfortable. Would stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Off-season, weekend getaway"
We took advantage of an off-season, weekend special to treat the March blues in the cloudy, cool, rainy northwest. This hotel is a perfect base for exploring Granville Island and greater Vancouver. Our room was small, but very comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Can't Say Enough Good Things!"
We were treated so well by ALL the staff at the Granville Island Hotel. Courteous and effient is all I can say. The hotel is modern and comfortable, the fixtures are all beautiful and we had an amazing view! The bed was just right and the linens are soft and lovely. Granville Islad has so much to offer plus easy access by water taxi to downtown Vancouver […] and Stanley Park. Stay here for sure. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Location! Location! Location!"
This hotel is ideal for a weekend escape. The room is quite small, requiring some squeezing around furniture to access far side of the bed, but Granville Island is so full of exciting arts and crafts shops, the amazing market, superb restaurants and gorgeous walking opportunities that you really won't use your room except to sleep. And the bed was very […] comfy, the bathroom immaculate. The lobby has lots of chairs for sitting and chatting or reading and the lounge is friendly and relaxed for socialization. Looking forward to my next visit. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Excellent boutique hotel with personal service and friendly, helpful staff. Wonderful location, fabulous siting right on the water of False Creek. Good food at its own Dockside restaurant.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Location makes it worth it"
Stayed here for 3 nights. Hotel was in a great location. Room was decent, needed some repairs to the sliding closet door and door to the patio. Room keys expired part way through the trip and had to be reactivated. Otherwise good stay. Hotel concierge was nice and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Boutique hotel overlooking False Creek, Vancouve"
Excellent location on Granville Island overlooking False Creek in Vancouver. Took my family for spring break and enjoyed the stay!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great boutique hotel"
Great hotel in the middle of everything. Nice Granville Ilsand location. Very clean rooms although regular rooms are a bit small. Very comfortable overall. Highly recommend!Genuine Expedia guest review
WE enjoyed our stay but did find our room a bit small for the price we paid. The staff was friendly and very helpful. It was noisy outside our window late in the night. The staff took care of that problem. We loved the restaurant at the hotel. We have been there in the past and would most likely stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place to stay in Vancouver, B.C., Canada"
The Granville Island Hotel is an exceptional hotel in a great location. You can take a taxi there from the airport in only 20 minutes. The hotel has contemporary decor, friendly and efficient staff, a great dining room with an awesome view of False Creek and the cityscape of Vancouver. You can walk through art galleries, stop at the food market, shop […] in the many shops and have your choice from many great restaurants, bars and even a distillery. It was our second stay there and we know we'll go back again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Accommodating staff, beautiful room"
A truly amazing experience. We were looking for a low - key place to stay with local amenities within walking distance. The improv theater and restaurants were a few minutes walking from the hotel, and a tranquil boardwalk lies right outside the hotel. The public market was a wonderful experience and also minutes away. Initially we were given, against […] our request, a double bed room but upon request were moved to a beautiful king room, spacious and recently renovated. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is at the best location do enjoy the Vancouver. Especially, if you are traveling with kids. The room is clean and well equipped but it's a bit small. It's located next to many activities. We will definitely return for next visit to Vancouver.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Beautiful location, great hotel"
Upon arriving in Vancouver, we stayed at the Granville Island Hotel before catching a ferry to the Sunshine Coast the next day. The hotel is the only one on the Island, which is a fun place to visit. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a unique and convenient way to visit this beautiful city.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, very comfortable and clean."
A couple of suggestions: towel racks in the bathrooms, and down pillows. Also, the breakfast menu is not that great. Bland and boring. Otherwise, the room itself was great.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A Fine Stay"

"Charming, friendly hotel in fun location"
We had a fantastic stay over NYE. Staff was super friendly, our dog friendly room had a water view, and every local we met was friendly and welcoming. Great hotel for dog owners as a grassy park is next door and a boardwalk goes around the island for long walks. If you haven't visited Granville Island, it's a Vancouver must-do. Staying there is even […] better as parking/driving can be trying and there's so much to see, eat and do there. Because our dog gets nervous with loud noises, we didn't attend the hotel's big NYE party, opting to get some Oyama sausages/meats, fresh bread and cheeses from the Public Mkt to go with cocktails we made in our room. With a sold-out event, 2 bands and people coming and going, we didn't hear much more than a few doors and firecrackers. The appetizers and cocktails in the lounge and NYD breakfast were delicious. Highly recommend a visit it the Granville Island Hotel. Fabulous value...just compare to other Vancouver hotels. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good location, fair price"
Excellent location close to the must see Public market. A little hard to find in the dark if you are unfamiliar with Vancouver and Granville Island. Very good restaurant in the hotel. Very clean if not smallish room. Would highly recommend.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Granville Island Christmas Wish"
We have been coming to Granville Island for years. The shopping, the food, the location, the market...it's all tremendous. We've peeked into the hotel before, and when Hotels.com offered us a room for a sale price, we BOOKED for our pre-Christmas trip. We drove into Vancouver and made straight for the island--knowing that we had a room waiting for us […] just made the day even more fun. Hit all of our favorites (Granville Island Brewing Co, the Stock Market, Paper-Ya and many, many other places) and then checked into our lovely room. We three (husband, wife and teen) had a room with two double beds and a small balcony with a view and a big bath and were happy. We'd likely upgrade to a suite next time, but had no complaints. Lovely marina view and ease of getting around made this as lovely as we'd thought it would be. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wonderful base of operations!"
We have been to Granville Island before and enjoyed the galleries, shops and theaters. On this visit, however, we stayed on the island - and loved it. We had plenty of time to wander and browse, have coffee in the market and just enjoy the place. When we wanted to see more of the city, we just hopped in the car (parking is very convenient but 12$ a […] night). Even better was the little Aquabus or False Creek ferries which drop you off on the edge of downtown for a day on foot. We loved the quiet, the car-free environment - and this fine hotel with an excellent restaurant. We'll be back! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"quiet and tasteful boutique hotel"
I went to Vancouver for lasik surgery, and the clinic I went to was in Kitsilano, so we stayed within walking distance on Granville Island. The hotel was immaculately clean, and the rooms were luxurious and comfortable. The hotel restaurant has an excellent view, and the food was very good. Within walking distance are art galleries and a great public […] market on Granville Island, and a few blocks away are all sorts of big box stores (West Elm, Williams-Sonoma, Anthropologie, ect) and a fabulous Indian restaurant called Vij's. "itself an attraction"
nice harbor view from the balcony at night and in the morning! walking distance to anywhere in granville island at any time. but not much dinning choices on the island at night after the market closes.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice spot on the island"
Great spot. Heard a lot about Granville Island and the hotel was a can't miss. Walking distance to a couple of very nice restaurants, the public market was fantastic (I'd visit everyday if I could!). And take an Aquaboat to downtown or other points.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to downtown, but felt away"
Great small hotel. Book a superior room for a very nice view. Only negative was the private parties that closed the only bar/sitting area outside the restaurant every evening of my stay. I wouldn't mind going somewhere else, if it wasn't pouring rain every single day.Genuine Expedia guest review
"An Island on an Island!"
Chose to stay here after a cruise and the night before catching a train to Seattle. Walked down to the market and grabbed a bottle of sparkling cider, fruit, cheese and french bread for dinner. That Made a lovely picnic in a beautiful and spacious room. Front desk was helpful. Room was HUGE! Lovely area to stay in. Felt safe and that's important.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is in a great location (Granville Island). It's a short walk to the main attractions on the Island and to public transportation which gets you to any part of Vancouver you may be interested in. Or, you can have them call a cab which will pick you up at the entrance. The hotel is located right on an inlet so there's a water view, if not from […] your room then literally, on the back patio. So there's access to the attractions right on Granville Island and there's access to nature when you get tired and need to commune with nature. It's not downtown but it's an integral part of Vancouver so you get the best of both worlds. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Visiting for 15 years"
We have been staying at the Granville Island Hotel for 15 years. It is our favorite & the only place we stay in Vancouver. Love this small boutique European style hotel. Shopping is fun & […] adore the market which is a short walk or even bike ride. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Dockside restaurant was a hightlight"
We very much enjoyed this hotel. Traffic was so bad in Vancouver that it was nice to park the car and stay on Granville Island. I had my two teenagers with me for the weekend and the highlight of our trip was sitting outside, taking in the beautiful views and having lunch at the Dockside restaurant. The Salmon Burger was fabulous! The room was nice […] but a bit small for the three of us, but it worked. We were at the end of the building so we didn't get much of a view and we looked into the health club, which was a bit weird. Ask not to stay in room 308. Besides that, we will make the Granville Island hotel a tradition. There isn't much I can say negative about it, we really enjoyed it. Can't wait to come back in the Winter when tourist season is over. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The Granville is an outstanding place when visiting Vancouver. Their terrace and dockside restaurant is exceptional for it's views of the harbor. The food is good - not outstanding - and reasonably priced but the views really make it worthwhile, especially for a nice summertime, romantic evening. The surrounding area has many good restaurants, art galleries […] and things to do. The staff always went out of its way to be helpful. I highly recommend this hotel. "Comfortable and Close"
We wanted to enjoy the waterside amenities of Granville Island. The hotel also kept us close to the places we like to visit in Vancouver.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great location and highly recommend"
Location to Granville island market with great views and serviceGenuine Expedia guest review
We wanted to stay downtown but most of the hotels close to Stanley Park charged outrageous prices for parking (e.g. $40 per night). We ended up choosing Granville Island Hotel because of its proximity to downtown as well as the more reasonable $12/night parking fee. I hadn't really explored Granville Island on previous trips to Vancouver and this stay […] provided a opportunity to do so. We liked being close to the water, the water taxis, all the artists' studios on the island as well as the public marketplace. It made for a fun and relaxing morning of walking around. It was also a great location for doing a quick morning jog. We didn't eat at the restaurant, Dockside, but it looked like a fun and happening place. Some of the rooms offered a great view of the water. When we discovered that there wasn't shampoo in the room, a quick call to the front desk quickly solved this problem (and they were very apologetic). Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice hotel, close to the action!"
We were pleasantly pleased with the newly renovated property which was within short walking distance to the activities both indoor and outdoor on Granville Island. It was a short aquabus ride away from downtown Vancouver as well. No complaints, only compliments.Genuine Expedia guest review

He had an excellent stay at the Granville Island Hotel (family of four). The hotel has a prime location, Close to the city, but at the same time quiet.
