"Wonderful base of operations!"
We have been to Granville Island before and enjoyed the galleries, shops and theaters. On this visit, however, we stayed on the island - and loved it. We had plenty of time to wander and browse, have coffee in the market and just enjoy the place. When we wanted to see more of the city, we just hopped in the car (parking is very convenient but 12$ a […] night). Even better was the little Aquabus or False Creek ferries which drop you off on the edge of downtown for a day on foot. We loved the quiet, the car-free environment - and this fine hotel with an excellent restaurant. We'll be back! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"quiet and tasteful boutique hotel"
I went to Vancouver for lasik surgery, and the clinic I went to was in Kitsilano, so we stayed within walking distance on Granville Island. The hotel was immaculately clean, and the rooms were luxurious and comfortable. The hotel restaurant has an excellent view, and the food was very good. Within walking distance are art galleries and a great public […] market on Granville Island, and a few blocks away are all sorts of big box stores (West Elm, Williams-Sonoma, Anthropologie, ect) and a fabulous Indian restaurant called Vij's. "itself an attraction"
nice harbor view from the balcony at night and in the morning! walking distance to anywhere in granville island at any time. but not much dinning choices on the island at night after the market closes.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice spot on the island"
Great spot. Heard a lot about Granville Island and the hotel was a can't miss. Walking distance to a couple of very nice restaurants, the public market was fantastic (I'd visit everyday if I could!). And take an Aquaboat to downtown or other points.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to downtown, but felt away"
Great small hotel. Book a superior room for a very nice view. Only negative was the private parties that closed the only bar/sitting area outside the restaurant every evening of my stay. I wouldn't mind going somewhere else, if it wasn't pouring rain every single day.Genuine Expedia guest review
"An Island on an Island!"
Chose to stay here after a cruise and the night before catching a train to Seattle. Walked down to the market and grabbed a bottle of sparkling cider, fruit, cheese and french bread for dinner. That Made a lovely picnic in a beautiful and spacious room. Front desk was helpful. Room was HUGE! Lovely area to stay in. Felt safe and that's important.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is in a great location (Granville Island). It's a short walk to the main attractions on the Island and to public transportation which gets you to any part of Vancouver you may be interested in. Or, you can have them call a cab which will pick you up at the entrance. The hotel is located right on an inlet so there's a water view, if not from […] your room then literally, on the back patio. So there's access to the attractions right on Granville Island and there's access to nature when you get tired and need to commune with nature. It's not downtown but it's an integral part of Vancouver so you get the best of both worlds. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Visiting for 15 years"
We have been staying at the Granville Island Hotel for 15 years. It is our favorite & the only place we stay in Vancouver. Love this small boutique European style hotel. Restaurant is fabulous & rooms are lovely although some are a bit small. Very metropolitan without being in a crowded downtown hotel. Perfect getaway for adults. Shopping is fun & […] adore the market which is a short walk or even bike ride. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Dockside restaurant was a hightlight"
We very much enjoyed this hotel. Traffic was so bad in Vancouver that it was nice to park the car and stay on Granville Island. I had my two teenagers with me for the weekend and the highlight of our trip was sitting outside, taking in the beautiful views and having lunch at the Dockside restaurant. The Salmon Burger was fabulous! The room was nice […] but a bit small for the three of us, but it worked. We were at the end of the building so we didn't get much of a view and we looked into the health club, which was a bit weird. Ask not to stay in room 308. Besides that, we will make the Granville Island hotel a tradition. There isn't much I can say negative about it, we really enjoyed it. Can't wait to come back in the Winter when tourist season is over. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The Granville is an outstanding place when visiting Vancouver. Their terrace and dockside restaurant is exceptional for it's views of the harbor. The food is good - not outstanding - and reasonably priced but the views really make it worthwhile, especially for a nice summertime, romantic evening. The surrounding area has many good restaurants, art galleries […] and things to do. The staff always went out of its way to be helpful. I highly recommend this hotel. "Comfortable and Close"
We wanted to enjoy the waterside amenities of Granville Island. The hotel also kept us close to the places we like to visit in Vancouver.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great place to stay! You won't be disappointed! If I'd change anything it would be the surrounding commercial area, but it gave you alot to choose from.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location and highly recommend"
Location to Granville island market with great views and serviceGenuine Expedia guest review
We wanted to stay downtown but most of the hotels close to Stanley Park charged outrageous prices for parking (e.g. $40 per night). We ended up choosing Granville Island Hotel because of its proximity to downtown as well as the more reasonable $12/night parking fee. I hadn't really explored Granville Island on previous trips to Vancouver and this stay […] provided a opportunity to do so. We liked being close to the water, the water taxis, all the artists' studios on the island as well as the public marketplace. It made for a fun and relaxing morning of walking around. It was also a great location for doing a quick morning jog. We didn't eat at the restaurant, Dockside, but it looked like a fun and happening place. Some of the rooms offered a great view of the water. When we discovered that there wasn't shampoo in the room, a quick call to the front desk quickly solved this problem (and they were very apologetic). Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice hotel, close to the action!"
We were pleasantly pleased with the newly renovated property which was within short walking distance to the activities both indoor and outdoor on Granville Island. It was a short aquabus ride away from downtown Vancouver as well. No complaints, only compliments.Genuine Expedia guest review

He had an excellent stay at the Granville Island Hotel (family of four). The hotel has a prime location, Close to the city, but at the same time quiet. "Perfect for short stay to explore Granville"
Small and perfectly located for a short exploration of Granville. The hotel was under some renovation which is fine. Beds not as comfortable as I would have liked, but otherwise the stay was pleasant. Would recommend for a short 1-2 day stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, nice ambiance"
Love the location on Granville Island. In the mornings, consider walking to the market on the island for breakfast. Tip: Many of the restaurants open before the official market opening time of 9 a.m. My room was compact in the European style and had a small balcony with a view of the water. Nicely appointed bathroom with marble counters and a good […] shower. Would have given a 5 for room comfort if there was an outlet by the nightstand so I could plug in my phone, which I use as an alarm clock. In my room with two queen beds, the outlet was somewhere inaccessible behind the bed, so I had to plug in my phone on the desk, out of reach. On the plus side, the room was very quiet - no road noise like you often hear at the downtown hotels. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Granville Island Hotel"
Staff was accommodating. Room was clean and well appointed. A little stingy with the drinks in the bar though! Maybe related to BC regs? Anyway...a very pleasant location, several restaurants in area, activities abound, and excellent scenery (on waterfront).Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great little hotel right on Granville Island"
We love Vancouver as a vacation destination and the Granville Island Hotel is ideally situated for us on Granville Island. The Granville Market, great shopping and eating are close, as are the jogging paths along False Creek (ran the 5K to the Science Center and back along with most of Vancouver most days!) Nice rooms, great restaurant. Have stayed […] there before and will again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Lovely hotel in a unique location"
We visited with our 4 year old and found this to be a great location away from the busy downtown hotels. Our room overlooked the harbor and the kids market, public market, and restaurants are a short, pleasant walk away; the art studios and theaters of the Railspur district are next door and fun to browse. We even got to chat with a Haida totem pole […] sculptor working at night near the hotel. The hotel itself was beautiful and the beds were very comfortable. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Terrific pet friendly hotel, convenient and comfy"
Very nice hotel, lovely lobby, small but comfortable room, nice king sized bed, clean but paint was chipping off door to bathroom. Loved that my small dog was welcome, she was given a treat upon arrival. Delicious breakfast in the restaurant. I would definitely stay here again even if I do not bring my dog.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great night and an Earthquake to boot!"
We just got married and due to our busy schedules in nursing and management we didn't have time for a long honeymoon so we did a one night stay at the Grandville Island Hotel. We wanted to stroll the streets and see the shops and public market. What a pleasant surprise! Nice rooms, a bit small but very clean and updated from a recent renovation. We […] were there on the night the 7.7 earthquake hit norther BC. the staff were very helpful and kept their cool. "Great Location! Fun for everyone!"
We spent 4 nights at this hotel and brought our two children. It was a fantastic location to stay. We spent time watching the boats, playing in the park, and checking out the kid market. We took an aqua ferry to the Science Center which was a great adventure for us all. It was easy to get to Stanley Park and Grouse Mountain by car. There are nice restaurants […] on the island. The kids loved the gelato available everywhere. The hotel was clean. The restaurant was accomodating with my husbands dietary restrictions. The only items that were less than ideal, was that there was only a small fridge and it was crammed with mini-bar alcohol and snacks (hard to store snacks for the kids). The staff was a little short when we asked questions at the desk. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel! We loved it!"
This hotel is wonderful. The room was a nice size, quiet and very well appointed. The location is fantastic as it is within walking distance of everything on Granville Island, including the incredible market and the kids' market. We traveled with three children and they loved staying on the island. The hotel is located next to a park with a big, grassy […] hill and lots of geese. The staff was friendly and the parking pass they give to guests makes it easy to park in an area that would otherwise be very difficult to find a space. Loved the toiletries here too. The pillows were a little bit big and hard, but that is my only complaint for this hotel. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel with a View"
Great location on east end of popular False Creek, next to boat dock and across water from scenic skyscrapers of Yaletown. Meals are available, 9am to 7pm, at food courts in the nearby public market. "Highly recommend the Grandville Island Hotel"
The room was spotlessly clean and nicely appointed, with lovely bed linens, comforters, towels and a nice atmosphere/decor. We really appreciated the free high-speed internet access. The bed was very comfortable, and was set up with high-quality bedbug encasements on it. This is extremely important to me, so I was able to relax and enjoy my stay (there […] are no bedbug reports for this hotel in the bb registry, which is one reason I chose it). Luxuirious shower with two types of nozzle, including 'rainshower' head. The staff was friendly, accommodating, lovely to us in every way. The grounds were well-maintained, and it was definitely worth the price. We enjoyed a quiet room, slept well. I'd DEFINITELY recommend, and will probably stay there again. "Great location, OK hotel"
This hotel has a great location. The staff were friendly. At first after checking in our WIFI wasn't working and the TV wasn't either. When we put in the call, a staff member came up right away and found the problem - something covering the digital input for the TV. A few minutes later they called and the WIFI was working. I didn't like the fact that […] we didn't have a tub in our room, just a shower. But the room was nice and clean. The facilities are a little old. We checked out the hot tub and sauna room. Luckily we were the only ones there so it was fine. We would stay there again, but next time request a better room. Ours, on the second floor, faced the fire lane and when people were outside talking at 4:00am, you could hear them, as well as the other sounds at 7:00am or so. Dinner in the restaurant was fine. great view, nice shops and food / coffee kiosks around, and so near to downtowns,a good choice foor holiday and businessGenuine Expedia guest review
as many people say this hotel is all about location. I felt my room was a bit overpriced given it only had a view of the parking lot and many people enjoyed their chats and cigarettes just below my window. The staff were very friendly and the bed very very comfortable but the entrance and lobby do not seem very inviting or warm - uber minimalist and […] need to search for some life at the end of a long hallway to the lounge (which was closed to public during my stay due to private functions) I will stay there again due to the proximity of the granville island shops and restaurants but was disappointed in the reno. We arrived late at night and left early the next morning so didn't really get to experience the hotel.
