"What a dump"

This was just a weekend get-away with my daughter to Nashville. I love Nashville... It's a great city and has a ton of stuff to do. Had a free weekend from Hotels.com and decided to use it. Which has always been the case, when you use the free weekends, you generally get the rooms that are pretty bad. This was no different. I will say this, when I had booked the trip, I had originally not planned on taking my daughter, so I got just a king size bed. When I decided to bring her along, I called and there were no rooms with 2 beds left. The hotel was nice enough to bring me a roll away bed. I greatly appreciated that! I let my daughter have the kind size bed and I took the roll away bed. I'm not the kind of person that rags on a hotel if it's not a 5 star... I mean, as long as I got a bed to sleep in and the staff are nice, I will give it a good rating. The staff at the La Quinta were very nice and accommodating. Would I stay again? Yeah, sure. Do I give it a 5 star rating? No, sure don't. There's always room for improvement. I like the area the hotel is located. Instead, since it was early morning, they used the single night reservation I had made for another group of students on 3/28, put them in that room, and cancelled my two night reservation. I had to scramble and call the hotel and after a heated discussion with the manager, was finally able to get a second room for a higher rate. I will not plan to use LaQuinta again. I choose La Quinta when visiting Nashville typically due to their convenient location with respect to the airport and their pet policy. I visit my daughter there and it is convenient for her to come to the hotel with her dog while I'm there. The room was clean & the bed was comfortable. I stayed in a room 2 rooms down from one that had been recently flooded but did not notice any adverse smells but still felt that wing should have been off limits until that room had been completely dried/disinfected/cleaned. "What's the point??"
I booked a reservation online for a one-night stay at this hotel. I've stayed here before and it's fine - convenient, reasonably priced and clean. We were traveling to Nashville for a state cheerleading competition, so it was my daughter, my mother and me - so I reserved a room with 2 beds. It was confirmed via email. When I got to the hotel, it took […] forever to get checked in because they were training a new person - no biggie. I went to the car, got my family, all of our luggage and proceeded to our room. Walked in the door - one bed. I called the front desk and said they would have to change me to the room I reserved - one with 2 beds - and she said, and I quote: "We can't change your reservation because you booked it online." And I replied, "Well, obviously you CAN change it, because I reserved a room with 2 beds, and you CHANGED it to a room with a single bed." I was then told that there were no more double rooms.
