this hotel has an excellent location, but it needs major renovation and ti be cleaner. Surprisingly the swimming pool was in excellent clean conditions, but rooms were kind of ok.

For small family with 2 children, this hotel is accomodating enough as temporary homestay in Singapore. Distance isn't becaming handycap. Halal food also easily finding and available with many option. Very close to Sultan mosque with keep maintaining Malay tradition. The house keeping service is awful. THe people are very rude. The reception people dont even pick up the phone. There were few people staying opposite our room who were creating lot of noise and abusing each other. The Management was least bothered when notified.

It was easy to check in. Disappointment started when I got to the room. The place was worn out, needs all the basics. The room needs a good cleaning. A close look at the wall lighting fixture bed lamp was terrible, completely cover in thick thick dust, disgusting. My wife hated to see mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. The bedding was cheap. The hotel is a moderately priced hotel that is one block from the Bugis underground train station. The room was large by Singapore standards and was similar to U.S. hotel rooms. It was clean and a good value as hotels go in Singapore. Do not buy stamps or change currency at the front desk as rates are very poor. There is a flea market type shopping […] center two blocks away on Victoria Street (one block beyond the Bugis Station), if you want inexpensive clothes, Singapore souvenirs, etc. The underground station being one block away makes getting around Singapore easy and it also the line that goes to the airport. Buying a pass on the underground increases the value and convenience of the hotel by allowing train or bus transportation to all areas of the city. We were happy with the hotel in general but the food and other services should be purchased elsewhere. There is a 7-11 across the street for soda and sundry needs. The upper rooms of this hotel have good views of the city and the shopping plaza under the hotel is great for casual shopping all in all a very good hotel with good room to relax and unwind , even with luggage we still had good room will be going back soon .

The title pretty much summarizes my experience. Singapore is expensive, and finding an average hotel at convenient rates with a good location was my primary decision concern (traveling with family). This hotel is close to a subway station (important to go from and to the airport), close to city center and attractions, on the path of almost all turist […] buses. Landmark Village is not the best place if you pretend to spend a lot of time in the hotel, but it is convenient if you are visiting the city for a few days and you plan on spending most of your time outside. Except for the lovely hostess in the breakfast buffet hotel staff could have cared less about my enjoyment. The room was shabby but clean. With a new carpet the room would be good. Location is excellent.

The hotel rooms are very tired, mold around the bath & wash basin. Note it is noisy with the Mosque nearby holding a calling for prayer at 5.45am ish and the sound travels without restriction between rooms. However the rooms are of a good size & the hotel is well located to the MRT & shops/restaurants.

Landmark Village is not a cheap budget hotel. But its not expensive either. Its great value for what you pay. The hotel is fairly clean, although my bathroom had a hair or two that belonged to someone else on more than one occasion. The hotel is old, so expect a lot of 70s style mirrors and dark colored granite. The air conditioner was either too cold […] or too warm. The beds were wonderfully hard and comfortable and the pillows were nice and fluffy. The housekeeping staff were a bit nosy even when a "don't disturb" sign was place on the door. The breakfast buffet was adequate. The coffee was terrible, but then coffee at the Fullerton wasn't all that much better either. The restaurants are about adequate. But the really interesting street cuisine starts right outside the hotel's Arab street entrance. Be prepared for less than satisfactory service. Most places are family owned and operated, so the food is great, but the service is... well... fickle. I had to kick a fuss about bad service and an obviously clueless chef at a small Mediterranean hole in the wall... but i was assured that the real chef had called in sick and they were making do with a stand in. But they were nice enough to not charge me for the less than edible meal. That's one of the remarkable aspects of Singapore... if you have a complaint, people generally take you seriously. The location is great if you wanna traipse around the older bazaar type scene. Lots of great little small places to eat and drink and watch life go by. There's a big mall at about a 5 minute walk, if you're the nasty mall-shopping type of tourist. The Suntec city convention centre is a pleasant 15 minute walk. All the touristy hang outs in the marina bay area are a short cab ride away. The cabs are cheap and the cabbies are absolutely charming... they'll give you the lowdown on anything you're interested in! We experienced great difficulty finding the hotel - so did our taxi driver. Problems - enterance is not in the street of its address. No easily visible street number on building. Village sign is 18 floors up; not easy to see when looking out of a taxi window. Also bathroom lighting was the worst we experienced on our trip covering 9 hotels. The rooms are very comfy and the staff are very efficient and friendly. However I was a bit annoyed that while I was having a nap with my fiance on my 2nd day in the hotel, the reception called me to come down to the reception for deposit which puzzled me as to why they only mentioned this upon check in and trouble me to go all the way down to the lobby? […] I hope that such careless incidents won't happen again as overall it was a lovely stay and I would definitely return to Landmark Village again. Lack of communication between Hotel.com as booking allowed to book deluxe smoking room, but during check in, the receptionist told deluxe room all none smoking!

The staff were patient, efficient and friendly even when I was being a little difficult during my check in due to my room being available only at 4 pm when I reached at 2 pm. The duty manager on duty during my check in was reliable enough to pull some strings to get the room ready as soon as possible.

Service at reception was very slow, always not enough staff available, house keeping not very helpful i.e. room service. Everything else was very good, good location, safe area to walk around at night, and staff where excellent when you finally got to speak to them.

The hotel was in an excellent location, within walking distance to bugis junction and Arab st, and the room was clean and modern, however the service was appalling. Staff at reception and bell counter were rude. I travelled with 4 other adults whom between them had 7 children and the staff did nothing to accommodate our requests. For example my cousin […] called the bell counter for someone to pick up the bags before check out and when she advised them she had 8 bags (including hand luggage) the person rudely replied "8 bags?!" as if the request was ludicrous. Also be careful what you leave in your room when putting on the "make up room" sign on as my sister and i had half packed and left a number of plastic bags lying around near our suitcases and were going to double check them when we finished packing however on our return all the plastic bags were gone (which were nowhere near the bins), so we didn't get to double check if we had left any items in there. The lifts were also shocking and functioning properly. They kept going up when you pressed down and vice versa and we heard a lot of other people complaining about it too. Also I wouldn't recommend the travel agent near reception to book tours or universal studios tickets etc...very dodgy! She gave us some very misleading information because we weren't paying cash and made up some excuse about her credit card machine not working. Overall I would probably stay here again if they fixed the lifts and improved their service. Read more

Not a happy stay at this hotel. Was clearly set up for tour groups. The location is fantastic near to the Bugis MRT and shops, pity the hotel is so run down. Breakfast is just terrible which added to costs as we had to go out for it. The newly renovated rooms are a definite improvement over the old. Only drawback was that there was still renovation work being undertaken - slightly noisy even on Sundays.Also the lifts need improving too. Thanks!

We were initially assigned a room in the corner of the building floor plan. Whilst this overlooked the pool area, the window was only one quarter the size of rooms away from the corner, and was not very light. And we were staying 5 nights.
