Hotel was very clean and welcoming. This carried right on up to our room..Very surprised at the number of choices you were given at the continental breakfast. Location was awesome and being pet friendly was a big plus..

We stayed at the Walker hotel with our grandkids a 2 1/2 yr old and an almost 7 yr old. We had a fabulous time. For the first day and half I was alone with the kids. June and the whole staff of the hotel went out of their way to make us comfortable and happy. The pool area was great! We could play in the pool for a long time without getting chilled, […] so often hotel pools are very cold, but not here! After my husband arrived he too felt very welcomed by the staff. The breakfast area was well stocked and kept clean. We were always greeted pleasantly by all staff, front desk to cleaning ladies. I would recommend this hotel to all my friends and family! My (almost) 7 yr old granddaughter said all she wants for her birthday is to come back to June's hotel! If that doesn't say it all nothing I can say will. Read more

Spent the day with family outside Akeley and promised my daughter a pool at the end of the day. Wish we could have stayed another day and explored Walker.Beautiful lakes area! Nice pool and not too coldSuper comfy beds and bedding, clean room and very quiet. We will be back for a weekend soon.

My wife and I enjoyed our recent stay at the Country Inn at Walker. The motel is clean, comfortable and well maintained. The staff was very accomodating. Our room was neat and clean; the bed was very comfortable; the breakfast was good. We look forward to staying at this fine establishment again in the future.

This is our second time staying there and I will continue to go back every time we need to go up that way. Service is great, breakfast is small but good and the room is clean and comfortable. We have not used the pool so don't know about that but there is always someone in there.

the hotel is fine except the pool is closed to early,i fish all day when i visit the area and would like to use the hot tub,by the time i get back in and put everything away its 11:30 or so and you close your pool area at midnight.

I have no complaints of this hotel. We stayed there during a wrestling tournament so the hotel was full of wrestlers and their families and the staff was very accomodating. The beds were really comfortable, I was pleasantly surprised! i would stay there again.

When my travel companion & I arrived to check-in we were told we were 'Upgraded' from a 2 queen bed into a 1 king bed/spa tub suite. due to the large volume of hunters for opening hunting weekend. I tried to explain my travel companion & I work together & would not be at all comfortable sharing a bed, would we be able to have a cot? They did not have […] a cot, or an extra blanket, or even a pillow. Because it was my mistake in choosing this hotel, I slept on the hotel room floor with the one comforter from the king size bed & 2 pillows. My companion slept with one lighter weight blanket & one pillow. We woke up feeling cold, tired, achy, & regreting our decision to volunteer for our company on this trip. Pet friendly, comfortable beds/rooms, free wi-fi, pool and whirlpool, and a decent breakfast. Service was excellent....especially at breakfast. Late check-in was no problem. Had a great lakeside view. Right off main road and convenient to downtown area. Mini- fridge and microwave were very nice bonuses! Highly recommend!

Hotel clean enough but was floored by $30 pet fee at checkin. It was a 17yr old non shedding, non barking 13 lb little dog. When I booked I double checked pet policy via telephone with no mention of fee. We have stayed in many a hotel where usually nothing is charged, $10 the most. Staff were not on the same page, and kept giving us inaccurate information. We arrived at 3 AM... Night auditor said she had closed the books, so we would not be charged for first night (were staying two nights). She then asked if we wanted to upgrade to a suite. Based on the fact that we THOUGHT we were saving money, we said sure... got a suite for […] an extra $15-20. Night auditor also said breakfast went until 11 AM. Got up at 10:40 (just to make it to breakfast), and found that it had closed at 10:30. Frustrating, but Mary (who runs the breakfast) was VERY accomodating, and made us a plate of food to heat up. If not for Mary, who was extremely pleasant and helpful both mornings, we would have rated this stay a 1/5 instead of 2/5. Anyway, we get our bill, and find that we are charged for both nights. Basically, the night auditor gave us a bunch of misinformation, and convinced us to upgrade (thinking we weren't being charged for the first night). Not saying we shouldn't have paid for the first night, but when people give you incorrect information (after driving 500+ miles with a 1-year-old), it's very frustrating!! Read more

Front desk is super friendly and helpful, beds are awesomely comfortably, bedding is great (pillows, too), breakfast is always plentiful and delicious, pool area is nice. On Friday night at 10:30 my wife dislocated her hip while getting up from the chair in our room. The front desk had a ambulance there in a matter of minutes. Three EMTs, the front desk receptionist (unfortunately we did not get her name) and her off duty police husband had to carry my wife down to the ambulance from the second floor. When we returned […] the same receptionist had moved everything in our room to a room on the first floor. She actually put everything in the exact same place we had things in our second floor room. As we were driving away the next morning, she called our mobile phone and gave us the number to call to see if we could be refunded our money for Saturday since we had to check out and return home. We are getting a refund thanks to once again the same receptionist. We are very sorry we did not get the receptionist name but it was a very hectic situation for us. Read more
