HAD A GOOD STAY CLEAN ROOMS GOOD LOCATION THE ONLY THING IS ITS ON A BUSY STREET AND YOU CAN HEAR THE TRAFFIC AT NIGHT.
"Nice Size Room for the Price"
Nice Size Room for the Price in San Francisco. Added bonus Free parking.
Carpet needs to be replaced, badly
Carpet desperately needs to be replaced.
First night not satisfied with room, moved to satisfactory but no cable TV in that room, could have had more offered for breakfast. Overall we were happy to have stayed there.

"Great location, Free Parking!"
La Luna in was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were nicely updated within a budget and the location was wonderful. We had nice partial views of the Golden Gate Bridge. There was a small but sufficent breakfast each morning and the best part is the parking is Free. My only complaint is that the hotel was next to a high traffic area and thus very noisy. […] Also, the pillows were very hard. For the reasonable price we paid, I would highly recomend this hotel! Read more

"It was OK..."
It may be a pretty good hotel for the price, but we weren't still happy with two things. The bed and all appliance were decent. However, the carpet was REALLY old and almost felt moist to walk on. Also, it took forever for the hot water to come out. (I took a cold shower on the first day, not knowing that it takes so long.) I'd give it 3 if these two […] things were improved. Read more
"What's for breakfast... Bread?"
I have traveled to many countries all over the world and have never experienced such a horrible "complimentary breakfast". No real tables but small coffee tables, no milk, green bananas, watered down orange juice and horrible coffee. Oh by the way, one out of the 2 toasters broke down, so we had to wait for 5 people ahead of us to toast our bread. This […] might sound cheap and we could have gone somewhere else for breakfast, but I personally like to book hotels with complimentary breakfast as it is convenient and you don't have to go anywhere else, especially in San Francisco where parking is insane. Although they put us in the back, the traffic noise is really insane. The rooms were clean but outdated. The hotel is in a perfect location and close to all main attractions, but it is true that you have to be back early in order to find parking. If you have a choice, look somewhere else. I now know I should have really followed other reviewer's recommendations. Read more
No cable T.V and the hotel seemed to be under construction.
"La Luna Inn - San Francisco"
Our overnight stay here was pretty mediocre. It wasn't totally disgusting but it could've been a little cleaner. The lighting was sparse. We had one lamp with dim lighting and the bathroom light. That's it! The carpet was worn and had stains on them. Someone had placed towels on the window ledge to soak up what I don't know but the room had a slight […] musty smell. The "beds" consisted of matresses placed on wooded platforms - no bedsprings. Outside on the top floor, the corner of the gaurd rail was crumbling. Again, the outside carpets were worn, in disrepair and stained and the hallways smelled musty, too. They advertised "free parking" but they don't have enough parking spaces to accommodate all of their rooms. People had to park on the street or in front of the door which blocked other guests' access. Read more
"Convenient location"
Beds were very comfortable. The rooms have been updated except the carpets that were old and gross. Otherwise the room was clean. The breakfast was pretty terrible. The milk was spoiled and only oatmeal and toast to choose from. Of our 3 night stay one night no one came to clean our room. The price for the location was good. The hotel wasn't horrible, […] but could have been better. Read more

"It was comfortable"
It was comfortable for the price but the parking was so narrow that I had diffuculty trying to park my van. And they deduct $100 from your checking account and deposit it back like 4days later.
"loved it"
THe room was big and clean and the bed was really comfy. The location is in a good area. We felt safe and we were happy. i dont get why this hotel is 21/2 stars. I would put it at 3 to 31/2 stars easily. Squat and gobble is within walking distance for a great meal too. I will definitely stay here again!
"Construction"
Construction was going on at this hotel during our stay. Asked to be relocated but the sound level wasn't any better in the new room. Even though we were in a renovated room, the carpets were in bad shape and there were holes in the wall. The white comforters had stains and there was an odor in both rooms that was unpleasant. I felt the price was […] too high for such accommodations. Read more

"Horrible"
This hotel has a horrible smell in the room even two air fresheners I bought didn't help. The carpet was so gross I didn't take my socks off ever. When called front desk to have towels brought up they said they don't do that and we need to go to office and get them. One ice machine for whole hotel. Paid for the "deluxe double queen room"..could have […] paid $150 more and stayed at the Hyatt fisherman's wharf. This hotel is a rip off...don't care how many good ratings it got..that's what suckered me into it. Read more
"Some drawbacks"
I knew what to expect at this motel when I picked it, (having stayed there once before) and accepted it. What I didn't expect was no cable TV and insufficient parking. Parking is essential to a hotel in this neighborhood, but there aren't enough spaces. The desk clerk said that it was free parking "as available" but this appears nowhere in the materials. […] There were three spaces that had been leased out to Zip Car, and one reserved for the owner, but the lots were full on a Saturday night. There was no station listing for the TV, but this didn't matter because the cable channels were not working. Read more

"The La Luna Inn"
Although it was close to most of the attractions we were going to visit, the hotel simply falls short elsewhere. Once we got into the room, we were greeted by a few fairly uncomfortable beds with pillows to match. Thankfully, we packed our own pillows and sheets. After settling in, we turned on the (very small) TV in the room and found that there was […] a large amount of static on the TV, making it nearly unwatchable. We went into the bathroom... which smelled like toe-fungus and mildew. We had to spray a bit of air freshener just to make the bathroom bearable during showers. Needless to say, it wasn't a very comfortable experience. On the second night, we noticed that there was absolutely no parking. 2 spaces that weren't even made for parking had to be occupied. After discussing the issue with the staff, we had to squeeze our car into a space between a rather large minivan and a brick wall... in a handicapped parking space. We left the hotel, and when we got home, we noticed that the hotel had charged us for consuming drinks that we had never even touched. We couldn't get a refund for it either. While the quality of the hotel is mediocre, I feel especially irked by the feeling that they were scamming us. I would not stay here again. Read more

"Good hotel!"
It was a good neighborhood, the check in was easy, and the best is that parking is free!!!
Was very happy, small room, but very clean. Could maybe use a little more lighting. But would definitly stay there again.
dirty carpet, poor plumbing that backed up, outdated noisy heater. good bed and shower
"la luna inn, lombard street, san francisco"
we chose this inn because it was close to st. francis yacht club, where we attended the annual rolex yachtsman of the year awards. The positives were comfy bed w/ good linens, good shower, accommodating house- keeping service (extra hangars and coffee). The negs were numerous: old plumbing that plugged up, LOUD bathroom fan and heater that roared on-off […] all night, dirty carpet. The toilet backed up, and front desk had no plunger; we had to go across to Walgreens and buy one if we wanted to use our toilet! The alternative was to go upstairs and use one in a vacant room until maintenance arrived in 1 1/2 hours. and staff was not even apologetic-- we thought the very least they could do was deduct $8 from bill...not! We will not be staying here again. Read more
"Disappointing"
Maybe we were given an older room for booking at a cheaper rate at hotels.com and as our expectations were certainly not met: - lightning consisted of two small lamps and that was not enough, room was very dark - housekeeping did not change the towels and next morning, after realizing that, we had to use wet towels from the previous day - we were on […] the street side and the traffic noise was constant and annoying - at breakfast at 8.00 am there was no longer fruit available Room was clean and location was ok but I would not recommend this hotel. "nice enough"
i had the queen double bed. spacious shower. hard pillows. clean room. clear and easy wi-fi. ample parking. breakfast was toast and coffee. i think cocoa / tea/juice was available as were packets of oatmeal. good enough for a one night stay.
"La Luna Inn- San Francisco"
Lot of traffic noise from Lombard Street. Otherwise, great location and walking distance to a wide variety of restaurants.
"DON'T STAY HERE....BED BUGS!"
Let me make it clear the location of the hotel is great lots to do around there; shopping, food, and etc. But the conditions and the staff horrible! I do not recommend it to anyone it was a nightmare were we debated on leaving. Let just say we found a bed bug in our room! We moved rooms and we had to make sure nothing was there. Lucky for us it was […] our last night there we came home we stripped down out of our clothes and washed everything. I even had to like take the car to get detailed just to make sure we did not bring anything back with us. So save your self from coming here! Read more

"La Luna Inn in San Francisco -close to the Wharf"
Hotel staff was helpful. Free breakfast was adequate with instant oatmeal, toast with butter & jelly, oranges, coffee (no decaf), tea. The hotel is within walking distance, just a few blocks to our tour bus, and places to eat - like the very good Mel's Drive-in. Street in front of our room was very busy, but NOT noisy when the door was closed to our […] room. Bed was fairly comfortable, pillows were not soft, and the hotel needs to invest in new towels. Elevator wasn't working, but staff will carry your bags if you need them to. All in all, it is a convenient hotel to see the sights of the city, staff was helpful, and we would stay there again if in town. Read more
"Not the worst, but I would still look elsewhere"
Like all hotels in San Francisco, this one is overpriced. I expected that. What I didn't expect was a room that stank of mildew and bleach. The room seemed clean enough otherwise, but the smell made me wonder what was in the walls. Overall, my night here wasn't awful, and it was certainly a great location if you need to be near the Marina. However, […] I will probably look elsewhere the next time I need to stay in the area. For the price I paid, the room should at least not smell bad. Read more
"La Luna on Lombard"
Really, for the price, it was a very nice, very convenient hotel. We unfortunately experienced a very noisy group of guests from 1-4am, but the night manager did his best to control the noise. Still didn't get much sleep. We were on the backside of the hotel, so we were not right on Lombard Street, and heard absolutely NO traffic noise. I would recommend […] this hotel. Read more

This hotel was affordable but it did not mention the 100$ deposit online. "nice location and staff"
This location is close to a few bus stops, so I was able to get around without a car. The heater in my first room wasn't working so they moved me to a bigger room. Score! The elevator wasn't working, which was kinda rough with all my luggage. Room was fine. Cable was limited. They have free wifi and a small breakfast buffet. Pastries would be nice. […] Room was clean. I'd stay here again for the price. Read more

"kinda cold"
very cool hotel, in a great neighborhood. the room was pretty cold and the bathroom was freezing. also we were told we d have wireless internet but our room in the corner could not pick it up. lack of internet was pretty inconvenient since all our travel plans were online. cool place, great price, would stay there again.
"Convenient place to sleep"
The room was clean, and the service fast, and friendly, but this is not a high-end hotel by any stretch. I like the location, close to the Marina, but if you are sensitive to noise, this place, being right on Lombard might not be your best bet. Overall, I would recommend this place, if you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel close to the Ma […] rina/Presidio. Read more
"Good Location"
For the location and the price this is a great hotel. So close to a lot of great restaurants in the Marina. The pillows are uncomfortable, but the room was clean. Breakfast was toast and oatmeal and oranges. Nothing special, but at least something! I'd recommend it.
Nice and helpful staff, conveniently located. Safe, free parking. Hotel is older, a little worn in some areas, but comfortable and a good bargain. If you just need a place to sleep at the end of a busy day of sightseeing, it fits the bill. Would stay there again if I went back to the city by the bay.

"Nice location"
Location is very convenient, close to everything. Price was affordable. Parking was a hassle not enough parking for all quest. Elevator was being renovated, was not notified prior to arrival.
