"Nice hotel for SF"
Visit was for 2 days and this hotel was pretty much what we expected.Genuine Expedia guest review
The room and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was recently updated and very clean. The space in the room was very nice, two full sized queen beds and lots of floor space. The only thing I regret is not staying closer to either Fisherman's Wharf or Union Square since we spent most of our time there. The first night we walked 27 blocks to […] Fisherman's Wharf, and then 27 long blocks back. After that we took a cab to the rest of our destinations since it was unseasonably hot in June. I expected warm and humid during the day but it never really cooled off at night. Overall, great room, good location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very helpful and friendly staff. We were there for the 4th of July. Our party came in to late for us to go down to the pier for the fireworks. The owner invited us all to the rooftop and we were able to all enjoy a great fourth of July.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ok is about it"
Price too high for what you get. Room is very mediocur. White bedspread had not been clean for awhile. Was switched from the first room because the AC had broken vents. View was another brick wall. Add $30.00 and stay at a much nicer place.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Just fine for the price"
Rooms were fine, not amazing, but fine. Rooms not huge but adequate. Places to put clothes and suitcases in room. Desk became the breakfast nook. Bathroom fan loud, no tub just shower. Switched rooms after our AC broke - yes, it did get warm in SF!. Mini coffee maker & fridge in room. Breakfast offerings: instant oatmeal, toast & low quality bagels, […] oranges & bananas. Don't stay for the breakfast alone! Breakfast room in small lobby always seemed to be packed. Free computer to check email, and flight schedules in lobby which is nice. Close to good, but somewhat pricey/organic grocery stores so you can buy your own stuff for breakfast & snacks. Good location between the Presidio & GG Park - easy to hop onto city buses for touring. Recommend the city pass deal too. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"close to most"
Despite arriving 4 hours late by plane delay reception was polite and quick! Very helpful advice as tohow to easily get to various piers! Delicious breakfast to start busy excursions.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is in a great location - walking distance to most attractions, and by the bus stops. The room was immaculate, and the staff were very, very nice and helpful. I recommend this hotel to everyone.Genuine Expedia guest review
"cheap and cheerful"
Our go-to hotel when we need to be near the Presidio, Crissy Field, Marina area. We've stayed here frequently and like its simple set up and cleanliness. The only issue this time was that the room initially smelled of cleaner. It was quite strong but we propped open the door and window and that fixed the problem.Staff are ALWAYS pleasant whether on […] the phone or in person. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Would stay again!"
Not the best, nor the worst. Met my every need in a hotel for the purpose needed which was to have a place to sleep, good location to sights, and FREE PARKING!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Pluses were the location and the free parking. Furniture old and scratched, drawer in nightstand wouldn't stay closed. No plug by the table where coffeepot was placed. Had to place coffee pot on floor in pathway to bathroom as that was only available plug in room. Bathroom very small, no place to put your toiletry bags. Light continental breakfast advertised […] and that was exactly what it was, think that is the "lightest" continental breakfast I have had in any travels. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"location location location perfect little motel"
motel in the heart of every thing you want to see in san francisco ample parking near all the sightsGenuine Expedia guest review
The room was too expensive for the small size. Breakfast was less then what they claim on the website but it was clean and the people were nice. All you really need is a clean bed and a shower anyway.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very loud. Small rooms. Not what I expect from a boutique hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great location if going to ride your bike"
pleasantly surprised about the location of the hotel. It was fairly close to the wharf area, we did take a local bus to the wharf though as we planned to do a lot of walking there. If you are planning to ride a bike across the Golden Gate Bridge, this is the place to stay. The neighborhood is reasonably safe and within walking distance to Crissy Field, […] Golden Gate Bridge, Palace of the Arts,.We walked to dinner at nite and didn't experience any trouble. Taxi fares weren't bad- $14.50 for across town. I would like an improvement on the breakfast items offered. At least cold cereal would be nice. The in-room coffee was missing coffee the first day and was not restocked the second day. I didn't notify the front desk, but am sure that they would have brought some up to the room had i asked. Free parking is a plus for this hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Below average hotel"
Hotel similar to a motel 6. Room was fine but hotel could do with new paint and general clean up. Breakfast was terrible.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Loved the location"
This hotel was perfect for a few friends looking for a good, affordable place to stay in the city. The location was convenient to hang out in the cool Marina District - lots of good restaurants and shopping in the area. It's also about at the midpoint between the Golden Gate and the Wharf, walking distance to both along the waterfront. As for hotel […] quality, it wasn't the nicest, but was comfortable and clean, with friendly staff. Would recommend. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice hotel to stay about 3 days"
I' am was first time in San Frrancisco and choose La Luna cause this hotel located in a quiet place not far from beach and Golden gate bridge. Many shops located near hotel. The hotel provides a trolley through Chinatown to Uptown. Walking to Uptown (City center) not spending a lot of time. On the whole La Luna - very good hotel which cost not so much […] but it's location so good. If you wish to see all main landmarks of San francisco at short time - La luna your choice. Rooms were very nice, comfortable and most important CLEAN!!! Rooms have a "retro" feel. Staff was very helpful and pleasant.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
ITS ON A HIGHWAY basically. So if you need a place to sleep for a few hours this is your last option. Expensive for what you get. Its about a $59.99 motel they charge $149 for. REAL NOISY. Far away from BART. Cars honking and Harleys rattling the windows from wee hours in the morning. Much better places to stay where you can get a good nights sleep. There […] are good things about it. Close to the ocean, Cow Hollow, good neighborhood all around. Palace of Arts Garden is right there. Will I stay there again, no. Unfortunately not. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good enough for a weekend stay in SF"
Nice enough hotel, close to Chestnut Street, but a bit further off than what we usually prefer. Lombard Street can be quite noisy, so get a room toward the back side of the house. Staff is friendly and helpful. Certainly a good pick if the other places closer to Chestnut/Steiner are booked.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to the Marina District in San Francisco"
Appreciated having free parking in San Francisco. Close to the Presidio and Marina District. Continental breakfast was nice to get the day started. Room and hotel are pretty basic but did include a refrigerator and coffee pot. Walking distance to restaurants and shops.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great water pressure..."
overall this was a good "one nighter" but not the most inviting hotel experience. the bed wasn't that comfortable at all and you can hear the traffic like you're in the middle of the road. however, you can watch your hgtv while you eat your $25 pizza and two cans of root beer so perspective right...? ps. stellar water pressure, prepare yourself for […] the flood. true story. "Nice hotel close to everything."
Got a pretty good deal, would recommend to anyone who's going to san Francisco. The hotel is clean, the staff is nice. The only thing I would I didn't like is that the WiFi too slow.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great stay for great price"
Hotel is a great place to stay for the price! My husband and I were in San Fran for 1 night only and were on a tight budget-this place worked perfectly for us. Breakfast was included which was nice and the location was great-we were able to walk to plenty of restaurants/bars and explore the city a bit. Parking was also plentiful which was nice.Genuine Expedia guest review
I was not expecting a lot from this hotel. We were just needing a place close to the Golden Gate Bridge to crash for the night. I was pleasantly surprised. The woman greeting us was very helpful. We were doing a big bike ride the next morning and were concerned about where to park our bikes. She generously offered to keep them with her at the front […] desk. As it turned out, our room was large enough that we could keep all 4 bikes in the room without any problem. The room was nicely redone, clean and comfortable. The only downside of this hotel is that it is on a busy street. We stayed in a room on the backside facing a hill and this helped with the street noise. I would stay here again. Good motel for value if you are staying near the Presidio/Golden Gate Bridge. Room was clean. Furnishings seemed a bit outdated, but that is of no real consequence. While the T.V. was not high definition, the picture was still good and offered an amazing amount of channels, way more than you find at most hotels/motels. Front desk staff was very friendly […] and the office was very nice with a computer for guest use. Simple continental breakfast was offered in the mornings. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"better than I expected"
Clean rooms, good location near Presidio Park, 1 hour walking distance to other attractions. However Lombard street is rather noisy at nights.Genuine Expedia guest review
"good for 1 night"
I picked this hotel because it was close to the Palace of the Fine Arts, and it is. The rooms are tiny. The bathroom is tinier. Water pressure is horrible in the shower. It served its purpose but I don't think I will go again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Noisy but inexpensive"
We stayed at La Luna Inn for one night. I knew from the reviews that the rooms weren't very soundproof and that there would be a lot of street noise, but this was like the windows were open loud! You could hear everything going on outside and in the rooms around you. The floor was very squeaky. Other than that, it was ok. One problem I had with the […] Inn was that we ordered a pizza to be delivered to our room and our delivery guy got into an argument with the hotel manager and they told him to leave...before we got our pizza. Luckily the pizza guy called and told us what happened, and my husband had to go meet him at the gas station across the street, however, had he not called us, the manager running him off would have left us with no dinner. Location was good, wasn't a shady area. Not sure I would stay again, but in a pinch it wouldn't be the worst place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very expensive "Flop House""
Poorly remodeled room that was in the corner of the building that should have never been used as a room. Very expensive, considering what we got.Genuine Expedia guest review
"not very good location but its ok for the price"
the hotel has a good price according to the location. But it still far from the pier 39. We spent around 1 hour walk to the pier 39. The wifi in the hotel is poor, I disconnected several in the night. besides these the rest are ok.Genuine Expedia guest review
"nice and clean"
I absolutely loved this hotel and the next time I go back to SF I will be staying there again. It has a great location. Within walking distance to the pier and good food and cute shops.Genuine Expedia guest review
"La Luna Inn San Francisco"
Arman the front desk clerk provided excellent customer service. He was very helpfull in asking your questions to the surrounding area and restaurants. The beds are very comfortable. Very close to palace of fine arts and golden gate park. I would recommend staying here if you are in San Francisco.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best Experience EVER"
I loved this hotel. I love the small quaint feel. The breakfast has a little to be desired...I got much better breakfast at a chain hotel on this trip. But the staff was wonderful and the location was THE BEST. Its a great value and I will be staying here when I bring the family back to San Fran! "Great Price and Location"
Great Price and Location. My boyfriend and I wanted to visit SF for a few days and La Luna Inn was perfect. The surrounding neighborhood felt safe-lots of other hotels and motels and a variety of places to eat. About an hour walk to the piers (including Pier 33 for Alcatraz) and an hour walk to the Golden Gate Bridge, buses are available but the walk […] was a nice way to see the city. Breakfast included bread/toast and hot cereal along with coffee/juice and some fruit. SF is pricey but this place was good price, amenities and central location. Definitely would stay here again! "Great location and hotel service"
I needed a place to stay for one night close to UCSF. While it a bit farther than I anticipated, it was a great hotel in an excellent location. I would definitely consider staying here for a fun day in the city. Hotel service and continental breakfast was excellent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good motel, friendly staff"
Parking was tight but the rooms were clean and fresh. The hotel staff was very helpful. I forgot and left my suitcase there in the parking lot. They found it, saved if for me and mailed it back to me. Very helpful. I would recommend this motel to others and return there myself.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Accomodating Desk Staff"
The rooms were comfortable and clean. The heater didn't work too well, but leaving it on high constantly we were able to maintain a good temp. When we had a problem with the plumbing the first night, they moved us to another room, accommodating a specific request for a bathtub, and didn't charge us for that first night. We appreciated the eagerness […] of the front desk to work with us and to ensure we were happy. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"everything new and sparkly"
Everything was new and clean. It reminded me of an old Route 66 motel. The staff were very nice. There were glitches but they are trying to work them out: You couldn't close the curtains because the desk was pushed up against the window. The crisp sheets were nice. A great find for San Francisco.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Decent, but nothing special"
This was not nearly as nice as the pictures portrayed. It was a lot smaller. The price wasn't bad and loation was decent. The breakfast was pretty good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"It's a Hotel..."
If you need a reasonably priced crash pad for a night in the Marina / Cow Hollow, this is an OK choice. If you are a business traveller that needs a good internet connection, look elsewhere. This was my second stay at La Luna, and likely my last. I actually like the place - friendly staff, great location, etc., but I really do need good internet when […] I'm in town on business. I had a work colleague book a room at the same time so we could go out and enjoy the neighborhood, but he ended up moving after the first night because his room smelled strogly of Lysol and "something else" - as did mine... "Get a room off the street!"
The first night was poor -- our room was in the front of the hotel facing the street. Street noise was unbearable. They graciously moved us to a room in the back for our second night, and this was quite nice. Breakfast is VERY modest (fruit, oatmeal, toast, juice, coffee). Covered parking was good, staff gracious. They charged $100 security deposit […] to be refunded after departure (a first -- is this even legal?). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient Retro Motel"
Location, price, and convenience are the hallmarks of La Luna. If you're driving, La Luna is ideal for San Francisco located at the corner of Divisadero and Lombard. There is free parking and it's near Fisherman's Wharf and the Golden Gate Bridge. The staff is helpful, but the rooms are dark, so reading at night is a challenge. This sixties-look motel […] is a good value for the $$. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was adequate for sleeping in. Bed was hard, pillows were harder. Bathroom was small and cold. No place to put your essentials easily. Towels and wash cloths were paper thin and rough. Fortunately, I was only there to sleep! and with hard pillows that was difficult.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Bring your earplugs"
This motel is at the crossroads of a major intersection and is extremely noisy due to the traffic. Because it is a motel, and the doors open to the street and parking lot, there is absolutely no buffer to decrease the noise level. We did not get any sleep. As well, the mattress is on a wooden frame, not a box spring. The towel rack in the bathroom […] was falling out of the wall, and the shower floor needed a good bleaching. Not a good experience at all. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
