"La Luna Inn San Francisco"
Arman the front desk clerk provided excellent customer service. He was very helpfull in asking your questions to the surrounding area and restaurants. The beds are very comfortable. Very close to palace of fine arts and golden gate park. I would recommend staying here if you are in San Francisco.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best Experience EVER"
I loved this hotel. I love the small quaint feel. The breakfast has a little to be desired...I got much better breakfast at a chain hotel on this trip. But the staff was wonderful and the location was THE BEST. Its a great value and I will be staying here when I bring the family back to San Fran! Also...if you want a better room...get two beds, there […] is much more space. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Price and Location"
Great Price and Location. My boyfriend and I wanted to visit SF for a few days and La Luna Inn was perfect. The surrounding neighborhood felt safe-lots of other hotels and motels and a variety of places to eat. About an hour walk to the piers (including Pier 33 for Alcatraz) and an hour walk to the Golden Gate Bridge, buses are available but the walk […] was a nice way to see the city. Breakfast included bread/toast and hot cereal along with coffee/juice and some fruit. SF is pricey but this place was good price, amenities and central location. Definitely would stay here again! "Great location and hotel service"
I needed a place to stay for one night close to UCSF. While it a bit farther than I anticipated, it was a great hotel in an excellent location. I would definitely consider staying here for a fun day in the city. Hotel service and continental breakfast was excellent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good motel, friendly staff"
Parking was tight but the rooms were clean and fresh. The hotel staff was very helpful. I forgot and left my suitcase there in the parking lot. They found it, saved if for me and mailed it back to me. Very helpful. I would recommend this motel to others and return there myself.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Accomodating Desk Staff"
The rooms were comfortable and clean. The heater didn't work too well, but leaving it on high constantly we were able to maintain a good temp. When we had a problem with the plumbing the first night, they moved us to another room, accommodating a specific request for a bathtub, and didn't charge us for that first night. We appreciated the eagerness […] of the front desk to work with us and to ensure we were happy. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"everything new and sparkly"
Everything was new and clean. It reminded me of an old Route 66 motel. The staff were very nice. There were glitches but they are trying to work them out: You couldn't close the curtains because the desk was pushed up against the window. The crisp sheets were nice. A great find for San Francisco.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Decent, but nothing special"
This was not nearly as nice as the pictures portrayed. It was a lot smaller. The price wasn't bad and loation was decent. The breakfast was pretty good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"It's a Hotel..."
If you need a reasonably priced crash pad for a night in the Marina / Cow Hollow, this is an OK choice. If you are a business traveller that needs a good internet connection, look elsewhere. This was my second stay at La Luna, and likely my last. I actually like the place - friendly staff, great location, etc., but I really do need good internet when […] I'm in town on business. I had a work colleague book a room at the same time so we could go out and enjoy the neighborhood, but he ended up moving after the first night because his room smelled strogly of Lysol and "something else" - as did mine... Guess I'm a bit more tolerant. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Get a room off the street!"
The first night was poor -- our room was in the front of the hotel facing the street. Street noise was unbearable. They graciously moved us to a room in the back for our second night, and this was quite nice. Breakfast is VERY modest (fruit, oatmeal, toast, juice, coffee). Covered parking was good, staff gracious. They charged $100 security deposit […] to be refunded after departure (a first -- is this even legal?). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient Retro Motel"
Location, price, and convenience are the hallmarks of La Luna. If you're driving, La Luna is ideal for San Francisco located at the corner of Divisadero and Lombard. There is free parking and it's near Fisherman's Wharf and the Golden Gate Bridge. The staff is helpful, but the rooms are dark, so reading at night is a challenge. This sixties-look motel […] is a good value for the $$. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was adequate for sleeping in. Bed was hard, pillows were harder. Bathroom was small and cold. No place to put your essentials easily. Towels and wash cloths were paper thin and rough. Fortunately, I was only there to sleep! and with hard pillows that was difficult.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Bring your earplugs"
This motel is at the crossroads of a major intersection and is extremely noisy due to the traffic. Because it is a motel, and the doors open to the street and parking lot, there is absolutely no buffer to decrease the noise level. We did not get any sleep. As well, the mattress is on a wooden frame, not a box spring. The towel rack in the bathroom […] was falling out of the wall, and the shower floor needed a good bleaching. Not a good experience at all. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great rooms, friendly helpful staff"
Great location near lots of great places to eat. The staff was helpful and the continental breakfast was small but good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Rooms facing Lombard St have the noise problem. Rooms are large and the beds large and comfortable. Pity the coffee machine was broken and staff could not replace. Location is perfect for Presidio and GG Bridge.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Parking is a challenge"
Women of a certain age do not feel comfortable traveling alone and staying in a first floor room when there are no hallways. This is a motor lodge. When staying in San Francisco, free parking is an important amenity. Unfortunately, some parking slots are used for other businesses and there was not a parking spot for me at midnight when I returned from […] a downtown theatre. I would not return to this motel and will only book with hotels.com when I am very familiar with the posted hotel. A big disappointment. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Confortable, friendly and conveniently located"
For the price I was really happy to see that the hotel was very comfortable. The staff was friendly specially Alma. The only minor thing was the ice machine being broken for a couple of days. Other than that we will totally stay there again. No doubt.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good location for marina district."
Parking was for toy cars so our minivan could barely fit. No information in the room about checkout or breakfast times. Had to ask for more towels everyday and could not call front desk from room.Genuine Expedia guest review
Room is nice and clean. We requested to stay in the back due to the noise on the street the the front desk lady were willing to work out with me. Thanks!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Decent Hotel In Good Area"
Good location for business traveler doing biz in SFGenuine Expedia guest review
Speaking as a broke college student, I was very pleased. La Luna’s location within the city is perfect (Marina/Cow Hollow). The hotel is situated on the western part of Lombard Street (which is a six-lane stretch of the 101 right before the Golden Gate Bridge); with that said, cheap hotels, markets, Walgreens, Mel's Diner, and convenient MUNI stops […] crowd this end of the street. However, La Luna is close enough to Chestnut & Union streets (Starbucks', dive bars, clothing retail, & swanky places to eat), and Fillmore (young party scene on weekend nights with plenty of bars & small clubs) is right there as well. The Golden Gate Bridge & Crissy Field are nearby to the north. In other words, you are surrounded by safe neighborhoods. The hotel was what I expected for the money I had spent, which wasn’t much. My room was reasonably spacious with two queen-size beds (comfortable, although my sheets had a couple marks/stains). The furniture was nothing fancy but had a clean feel. My room came with a refrigerator, lousy coffee maker (only serving decaf coffee), and a non-functioning television. So the AM/FM clock radio served me best during my trip. The bathroom had a modern finish but also reflected the low-cost expenditures of its’ design and complementary toiletries. The staff was friendly and pleasant. I went out drinking every night so I never woke up in time for the ‘free continental breakfast.’ Overall, La Luna is not a bad place to stay without breaking the bank. We loved La Luna for the free parking, location near to Fisherman's Wharf, and comfortable room. The staff was very helpful. The only thing that weighted me down on this review just a bit was the continental breakfast because it was very sparse. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was spacious. The water was warm. The fan ran great as background […] noise offsetting the street traffic. Great spot. We picked this one because of their parking scenario, knowing that we'd be driving in pretty late and not wanting to have to worry about parking that late at night, but we got a great room and stay plus good parking. The hotel seems to be newly refurbished. New decor is very nice! Staff was extremely helpful to foreigners. The hotel is very central (about 5miles) from Golden gate, and also very close to all major bus routes. Very comfortable stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"easy find in SF"
It is a nice place to land and go see some of the local area. Close to shopping and restaurants. Not a far drive to see the Marina and other attractions. We have stayed here quite a few times, most of them very nice rooms and clean. There have been a few times that the room we stayed in was more worn and tattered looking...but really overall it is a […] fair value for the money. We have not really had their complimentary breakfast, but rather chose to go to a near by restaurant called The Grove. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"cheap with free parking"
I needed a place to stay for on night on a budget. This place had parking on a first come first served basis which could run out if the place was full. I didn't have trouble getting a spot in the late afternoon in December. Breakfast was limited. Coffee was nice to have. Not the best place for kids I would expect. 1 mile walk uphill to pac heights bars […] restaurants, close to the marina. If you're on a budget and just passing through it does the job. It was what I expected. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location and one of the few that offer free breakfast and free parking. Close to many restaurants and bus stops. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The only down was that the room was small. I would not recommend for a family of 4, but ok for 1 or 2 people max.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel by Golden Gate Bridge!"
Great hotel and location. Unfortunately, something was wrong with the heat and it was dreadfully cold at night and in the morning. But I would go again!Genuine Expedia guest review

"I would look elsewhere first before going back."
The hotel staff was really nice but the set-up of our room was far from what we expected. The TV set was situated on the side of the bed that after watching a lengthy documentary I had a stiff neck, sort of. There was a coffee maker on the table but we had to put it on the floor by the wall each time we brewed coffee to access the only electrical outlet […] which was obviously intended for the vaccuum cleaner. The exhaust fan in the bathroom also squeaked noisily each time the light was turned on. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Last minute plans (day before) which turned out very nice for fiance & I. Outside of hotel doesn't do justice for inside. Very clean inside with nice contemporary interior decor. "We were very pleased."
The price was very reasonable. Plenty of parking spaces, several of them covered. The bed was extremely comfortable. The desk clerk was very helpful. We even had a balcony off our very large room. Due to fog, we were treated to the faint sound of foghorns until late in the evening.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

check in to the room with no bedside clock, a wall plug that does not work and had to be replaced, clothes hangers that were broken, both towels that were old, worn and thin a room that looked like it was decorated by a 15 year old with really poor taste, shower water pressure was weak and water warm not hot. very disappointing and I would not stay […] again. "Great value for San Francisco"
Great value, clean modern, updated, only negative was they advertise free wi-fi and we couldn't ever get on their network, called and the clerk said she'd check on it and never heard a word. Minor. Free Parking, toast and coffee in the morning and a clean comfortable room for a good price.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not too bad at all"
From the outside it looks a little sketchy, but the inside of the room was very nice. The beds were super comfy and they definitely took pride in keeping it clean. The only complaint I have is that the walls are really thin. We heard every time one of the toilets flushed in the rooms next to us, or above us. And we could clearly hear anyone talking […] they the walls as well. Luckily it was a Wednesday and there wasn't too many people there so we didn't hear it that often. Overall, pretty good place for the price and location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good hotel, especially for Fisherman's Wharf"
We stayed here the first 3 nights of our honeymoon. We were looking for a place to sleep, since our agenda in SF would keep us busy. La Luna was great - it's located on or within 2 blocks of major bus lines, so it was easy for us to get to various places across the city. The room was nice and clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. If I had one complaint, […] it would be the complimentary breakfast was a little scant - just toast, english muffins, and oatmeal. But otherwise, it was great. We'd more than likely stay there again if we head back to SF. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Room was the most basic and super small. Hot water takes over 8 minutes to get hot. That is no joke. Breakfast room was always dirty with overflowing garbage for 4 days. Would spend a few more bucks to go somewhere else.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Everything you need to know!"
The staff were very accomodating & friendly! The room was super small (we laughed when we walked in! 13x15) but we were hardly in it, so it didn't bother us much. Everything was there that we needed even though it was compact: a roomy shower, air conditioner/heater, refrigerator, desk, ironing board, tv w/cable. Bed was very comfortable-they use white […] linens & bedspreads so you could see things were very clean! I even checked for bedbugs & saw no evidence. I had to ask for a flatter pillow which was readily provided, otherwise, there were 4 big pillows. I had to ask for an extra towel-no problem. Their wasn't any hair conditioner in the room so bring that if you need it. They did provide lotion, Tone soap & shampoo. As for noise, we could hear the person upstairs walk around but it wasn't bad, we could hear the traffic outside, especially in the morning but at night the air conditioner covered the sounds so we were able to sleep well. Plenty of free parking was available, but some slots were ridiculously painted so small, but there was still room in other spots. Street parking was nearby. We loved the location, close to everything: Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, Golden Gate Bridge, Golden Gate State Park, Cable Cars, Chinatown & Lombard St! I have bad knees, so we still drove to these places but they were close. We ate breakfast at nearby Mel's Diner & IHOP, but there's free continental breakfast. There's also free wi-fi. For the price, we would definitely stay here again! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
For the location and price it was perfect. It was a busy neighborhood and noisy at night. But didnt really bother us too much. The light breakfast was just that...English muffins, bananas and coffee. No toaster or toppings for english muffins. But we just walked a couple blocks to a cafe.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Considering local prices, this place offers good value. I had a rear room upstairs and didn't notice road noise too much. However, there was a loud buzzing sound coming from electricity boards (I guess) from onsite - this did keep me awake, Friendly helpful staff. WOuld stay again and recommend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
