We stayed at the hotel before, at this time I booked on line and they offered 2 bedrooms. I thought it was great. When I got there, besides having to wait extra 2 hours for the room tomb ready (Sunday), another couple cancelled and left, we were surprised to see that our room was not inside the hotel, but in a building across the street. When we hot […] there we saw so many strange people, asking for cigarettes and in and out whispering etc. The apartment was very simple, no free internet, etc as soon as i entered the bathroom there was visible hair in tub and on top of toilet seat cover.. i cleaned the tub, since my son is young and wanted to use the tub. that early evening we saw some young man and a girl leaving as we entered the complex and soon enough we hadn't even got inside the apartment, these kids got another guy on the street and started fighting and the guy went down and they started kicking him and soon enough the police closed the corner street. paramedics came in. we were so scared and thank God my son was not able to understand the lights blinking outside. we locked ourselves inside every night and put a chair to hold he door, so scared we were. I was informed they are discontinuing that part of the hotel, and I am sad i was not informed they had long term renters. i would never stay at that hotel again. you need to fix this issue. My boyfriend and I came to Hawaii for both a vacation, and for a Spartan mud run. We weren't looking to spend a fortune there, which is why we chose the Pagoda Hotel. Their rates could not be beat, especially being as close as they were to everything (excellent restaurants, Ala Moana shopping center and the beach all are within minutes of the hotel). […] We also wanted the option to be able to cook breakfasts for ourselves throughout the week, as we needed to be well fed rather early for our run, and the room that we got with the kitchenette was perfect for what we needed. Except for lack of internet it was the perfect place for us to stay. We found out two days after we got there that there was both a Starbucks and a McDonalds less than two blocks away. Both have wi-fi. Yes, the hotel is older but it was clean and had good amenities. Elevator card system was a disaster! Need to get rid of it totally! "Reasonably priced hotel"
Our stay was a mixed experience. Although the neighborhood wasn't the best, we actually liked the location as it allowed us to walk both to Waikiki Beach and to downtown (the capitol and palace). Shopping (at Ala Moana, Walmart, or even for groceries at Don Quijote) was very convenient. And parking, at only $10/day, was much less expensive than at Waikiki […] hotels. The room itself was also a mixed bag. We had a double-double in the tower. During our stay, they upgraded much of the furniture in the room. The fridge (and freezer!) worked well. However, the microwave was missing, and the room safe was locked so it was unusable. The bath tub had been painted at some point, and the paint was chipping (unsightly but fully functional). Our room was supposed to come with free breakfast. When we checked in, they informed us that we would get two vouchers (we had four people in the room) each day, but we had to request them at the front desk each morning at 7:00 am. Your choice between two breakfast options was served in the restaurant, a beautiful facility surrounded by a classic garden with fish ponds. The hotel advertised that it had both wired Internet and wi-fi. However, when we asked about the wi-fi (which didn't work), we were told that they were still working on it. Finally, as we were checking out, there was a posted notice that they would soon start charging a $10/day resort fee. So, although we didn't have to pay the fee, you will. My stay was ok except no wifi and they charge you for amenities and the room cleaning crew are very slow. Other than that it was ok.....have lots of eating places around and the variety is goodGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Fantastic Koi ponds & streams. Buffet dinner was very expensive in the restaurant & not very good. The breakfast was great & reasonably priced. The pool is very small and old. The rooms were clean & comfortable but old & worn out, there is a sink in the bathroom plus one in the sleeping area???? Parking was $10. "Below average hotel, good if you don't care much"
Hotel was so so. personnel was okay, price was okay too. But the beds were terrible, the worst mattress I ever slept on, lumpy and springy. Sheets sometimes smelled bad and had to be replaced. Otherwise the room was clean. water in shower was not hot enough although usable. kitchen had ants. Lots of noise at all hours of the night, other dwellers did […] not care about the rest of us and were very noisy even at 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 in the morning. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I especially loved the ponds with the fish! Made it a point, whenever I could, to use the walkway around the ponds even if it made the walk a little bit longer!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Love the Hotel and the location."
The Hotel was great the staff was so friendly. The Pagoda restaurant was excellent. All the prices of the hotel, parking, and food was very reasonable. My family and I enjoyed this hotel so much we will be returning for our next vacation. My son loved the fishes at the floating restaurant. We enjoyed our stay!Genuine Expedia guest review
"A place to Sleep!!"
my experience staying at this hotel was just a place to sleep, a little to expensive, no microwave, no WiFi had to pay for it for the cost that I paid to stay here. Staff was friendly and courteous, that's about it. The only thing that I liked best was it was in the downtown Honolulu area close to everything.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Its fine if you plan to be just sleeping here."
The hotel its self was fine for the price. They had only one of the 2 elevators running almost all day due to some remodel going on. The staff was nice but I waited over 20 minutes multiple time to get on the elevator. The restaurant at the hotel closed early almost every night and would not honor the 10% discount the hotel told us about. Happy hour […] made up for this. Beer was pretty cheap. Overall the stay was fine but if you are headed to Hawaii for vacation I would find something closer to downtown Waikiki. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Huh? Across the street?"
I chose Pagoda because it was cheap and I was moving into a new house in just a few days and my company sponsored temp housing had run out. Little did I know I would NOT be staying at the Pagoda, but the Terrace Annex across the street. Needless to say, dragging the luggage cart half a block was not my idea of a good time. The room was old (but clean) […] and had a full size refrigerator and stove. It was a bargain considering rooms just a few blocks away in Waikiki. Just be sure you specify main building if you make reservations. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"An okay place to hang your hat"
It appears to be a rather old facility, however while we were there they were in the process of renovating the floor above us (this renovation did not affect our stay). The staff are there 24/7 and are more than willing to help and assist with your needs.Genuine Expedia guest review
This is the third time that we have stayed in the tower side of the Pagoda Hotel. Although it is an older hotel, it is very conveniently located with a short walking distance of the Ala Moana Mall and a Walmart, were everything can be found. Also there are many good quality small restaurants nearby. The staff have always been very helpful, friendly […] with great quality of service. The hotel also has a very nice, but small pool that is fun for the children. Within a short drive is downtown Honolulu and Wikiki Beach. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I'll miss the terrace once they are all sold off. Might not be the most luxurious hotel in Honolulu, but it's easy to get to easy-to-use parking the kitchenette kept food costs to a minimum the apartment size fridge easily holds all your leftover dinners. "Overall, Great Stay"
One of the best hotels I've had for the price. They do hold back things like internet, but... I mean... You're in hawaii... and I just tethered to my phone when I needed to get online. I will definitely stay here again when I come back to the island.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

We arrived at the Pagoda, check in was quick and staff were very friendly. We stayed in the terrace side of the hotel. As soon as we opened the door and turned on the lights 1 very large roach ran across the floor in front of us. We killed it. Turned on the lights in the bedroom and there was another one.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Once run-down, now much better!"
We had taken the Pagoda off our list for Honolulu accommodations because it had become a dive, with unsavory characters on the grounds, etc. The new ownership/management has done well to improve the property and keep the riff-raff away. We are now comfortable staying there. The rooms are clean and the staff is responsive.Genuine Expedia guest review
Being that we only needed a place to sleep, we booked the Pagoda. There is nothing fancy about it. The area the hotel is located in was close to the Baisdel and the mall-where we needed to be.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Economical price, close to restaurants, +amenities"
inexpensive hotel, nice staff, restaurant, convenience store, laundry facilities and swimming pool best place to stay for the price.Genuine Expedia guest review
Building and rooms are dated and could use some upgrading. Window air was good enough to keep the room comfortable. But everything is kept clean. Only thing we didn't care for during out stay was that there were no curtains on the windows to block out the sunlight if one wanted to sleep in a little.Genuine Expedia guest review
"kinda like camping"
this is the right hotel for certain kinds of stays - ie if you are going to be out and about enjoying a vacation in hawaii and are on a budget. Think of it as a part time job - staying somewhere less than ideal to save money. It is a very convenient location. If you are here on a romantic getaway and will be staying in the hotel a lot, the terrace section […] across the street from the main hotel was not great. Don't know how the tower would have been. Check in was a VERY slow process, so allow plenty of time before your first scheduled commitment. The personnel at the front desk were kind and helpful, but for some reason the process was very slow. "Good enough two-night stay"
Be aware parking is an additional $10/day - but cheapest of those that charge extra for it. Very few spots available on the grounds so we always ended up in the multi-story public parking structure across the street, some spots are really tight, but it is secure. The room was old, beds not comfortable at all - I advised the staff to at least turn the […] mattresses, curtains hardly close and are NOT black-out. Was surprised how quiet the neighborhood was and noises within the hotel didn't come inside the room - but we sleep with a sound conditioner - good advice for all travelers. Nice to be so close to the Ala Moana shopping Center and the other shopping at Don Quixote's and food court. Would stay again. Heard the buffet is great, but it wasn't available the nights we stayed. "Below expectations, not your money's worth..!"
Upon arrival at the hotel lobby at around 1:00 pm, I was told to wait until 3:00pm for official check out time. At 3:00pm, I was told again to wait another 1 hour, as my room is not ready yet for occupancy. Upon check-in at around 3:45pm, I was never given an instruction nor information that I was booked at a different building at the nearby area. Instead […] of Pagoda Hotel, it was Pagoda Terrace. I waste sometime in going up and down from Pagoda Hotel without knowing that I was booked to the other building. I am frustrated with the front desk attendant, named Jesamyn (or Jassmyn). The lady was very irresponsible, unfriendly, and unaccommodating. I suggest that she should be removed from her post and reassign to housekeeping probably. Upon entering my room, I smell stinks or foul odor. This is further escalated by wet and sticky floor matting and old type foul smell of the area. On my 2nd day of stay, I noticed that full housekeeping was not done in my room. Minor cleaning was done on the toilet and bath, while light fixing on the bed. All used glass, spoon and fork were left behind untouched on top of the sink. The entire kitchenette was never been cleaned. I asked the front desk---(which happened to be Jesamyn again) about the uncleaned kitchenette, she said that thorough room cleaning is being done every 3 days. On my 3rd day, I asked to be transferred for a better room. I got what I want but the room replacement has no WIFI connection. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Pagoda Hotel is a favorite among locals for its convenient location away from the crush of tourists in Waikiki. When ever I go to Oahu, I always check Pagoda first before anywhere else. It is conveniently located and lots of parking are available.
