The room I stayed in was obviously a smoking room before. It smelled horrible! Apart from that and the rooms needing a little renovation, the service was great.

Hotel is clean and safe the only problem I had was the Wifi. Very slow or lost connection unless your standing out side your room. Now just maybe it was just my room that had bad wifi. But if wifi internet doesn't matter to you I'd say stay here cause rooms are beautiful and comfortable. .

The surrounding neighborhood is terrible. The bathroom door was broken and wouldn't close. Most of the outlets were broken. All of the appliances were from 1980. We got a room on the second floor so the ceilings were vaulted which made the room feel bigger. For the price, the room and furniture were excellent. They have direct tv with some movie channels too!

I'm pretty mellow when it comes to a cheap hotel room, but this place was over the top for bad service. After arriving very late due to being bumped from my flight, the clerk said they were sold out in spite of my room being prepaid. At 1am with my job interview just a few hours away, I wasn't about to walk away. The clerk, seeing I wasn't just going […] to leave, ended up giving me someone else's room who hadn't shown. To add insult, he made me pay all over again for my already-paid-for stay at a higher rate. My interview ran a little past check out time and the final blow came when the desk insisted I pay a $30 late checkout fee, holding my luggage for ransom. This nasty place cost me 3 1/2 nights to stay a few hours. It was filthy, the TV was broken and looked like it was dragged out of a dumpster. The carpet was sticky it was so dirty, and I didn't even want to touch any of the swiches or leaky faucets. This place should not be an option no matter what your budget. Read more

I am cheap and I smoke. My expectations are pretty low as a result of that. I've stayed at some great Days Inn's. In fact the one in Artesia for the same price is practically a palace comparatively. This one (or at least the room I was in) in pretty much a dump. The floor was so dirty that walking around in my socks for just a few minutes turned my […] socks black. Later when I dared to walk in bare feet for a few minutes, same thing! Black feet! YUCK! The room needs a serious remodel with some fresh paint and new carpets. The comforter had a huge hole in it. They only provided one pillow for each side of the bed and took a ton of time to bring an additional one (but at least they did provide that). When my brother asked for a 2nd ashtray (because we both smoke), they gave a big hassle for some reason. Seriously, I pay $65 a night for 2 nights and you're going to give us a hard time for us each wanting an ashtray to ourselves? They also woke me up from a nap to move my car so that a trailer could take my parking space only to figure out that it wasn't my car. Not sure why I filled out the vehicle information when I registered if you can't pinpoint whose car needs to be moved...but hey thanks for waking me up. I won't complain about the neighborhood because it didn't really impact my stay. Not the best neighborhood but that's not the fault of the hotel management. Stayed 1 night. Kept driving wrong direction but manager was so patient w me in helping me find the location. Seems to be nicest motel in area. Great price. Only complaint is 1 light didnt work .... big deal. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

Staying at this hotel was a total nightmare. In staff were friendly and the room was ok. By ok, I mean old, smelly, poorly maintained and for some reason the carpet was soaking wet...however, we opted to go for a bargain so we decided that we would suffer through what we paid for. After all, it was a good price. The neighborhood was sketchy but we ovlooked […] some of the unsavory characters hanging around thinking "what's the worst that could happen?". Later that evening, someone was gunned down about five feet away from our door and we had to hide in the bathtub for 20 minutes waiting for the cops to arrive. Luckily we werent hurt but my car ended up with a bullet hole in the bumper. We were up until 4am waiting for the CSI's to pull the bullet out of my car and question everyone staying in the hotel. The police said it was a very unsafe neighborhood and this type of thing happened all the time. I wish one of the reviews would have shared that before we booked a room here. The hotel is decent. The clerk was friendly. Area is not great, but has a police station a block away. The towels are very scratchy. Breakfast was lame. Toast, cereal and coffee. Distance is about 2 miles from long beach. Not hard to get to the interstate a few miles away.

The hotel needs better insulation. You could hear everything on the outside and upsairs, this makes it very hard to rest. I heard thumps as if someone was dropping something on the floor upstairs as well as loud voice's on the outside.

But when we were running late getting back to the area and called to ask to extend our stay another night to avoid having to be out by 11am the following morning, the guy who answered was kinda rude and just said " book online" That was a big hassle since online kept […] trying to switch us to a random room as a new arrival.
