Travel Inn - South Lake Tahoe

Though the hot tub was in disrepair and frozen over when we got there, the location of this hotel can't be beat...especially for how inexpensive it is. The owners were friendly and we don't need much, so we were very comfortable in our room.

This hotel is operated by an east indian couple. They are very nice and helpful. The hotel key is also a 20% off coupon for a local restaurant. The hotel is close to everything. The showers are hot, the bed is fine, free internet in each room and the heater works well. You can't beat the price!

Good affordable little place to stay for the money, great service they had the room all warmed up and ready when I got there which was great coming in from the snow. Right down the street from food and casinos. Only advice is bring your own pillows because they are like rocks.

This place is the worst place I have ever stayed at. The showers NEVER got hot and when asked to fix it, the managers said that the maintenance people would be there the next morning so deal with it for the night. When I told her how unreasonable that was she sent her husband who checked it out and responded with a "what do you want me to do about it?" […] He was the manager of the place and he said there was nothing he could do, even about compensating me for the money I had paid for the room. I was extremely disappointed because the basic services of a hotel room were not provided. Not only that but the way they dealt with the situation was completely unacceptable. I even found a note left by a previous customer that read "Manager please clean your toilets, and provide more towels." God knows if they even cleaned the room because if they did they would've found that note. I left my number for the manager to give to their boss so I could talk to him/her about a refund but they never got back to me. This place isn't worth the money and effort you'll have to go through to get basic amenities and decent customer service. It'll ruin your vacation. I hope this place closes down. Read more

The room was clean and ready for use. The heater was on when we first entered the room. A nice touch as daytime temp was below freezing. It is a pretty cheap stay, so don't expect anything fancy. The rooms are old and you could tell that the non-smoking room I stayed in used to be a smoking room. Our friends and I arrived, exhausted, at 7 AM for our two rooms and were given a lot of hassle about checking in "early", even though nothing on the booking paperwork stated a check in time. It finally came out that they had no working heaters-in the whole building-and someone would be by to fix them about 1 PM. I assume that it was totally booked at the Thanksgiving day that we checked in. Due to this, the room that we got had door 2 meters from side walk facing the street. The next morning we checked out 10 am and could cover the Gondola and the Emerald bay after breakfast at Dennys (just coffee is available at this hotel) and before sun went down early at 4:40pm. The service was nice, the motel's parking lot was under construction so it was hard to get in and out. I went and bought my own bedding as the sheets were stiff, faded and smelled musty. The bathroom light had a mind of its own and you had to jiggle light switch. The motel needs major updating.

Our stay at this hotel wasn't the greatest. The pool was closed. The driveway into the hotel was under construction. Regarding the room, the carpet was dirty, the beds were hard and there were spider webs on the ceiling. The bathroom was ok and even had a working hair dryer. I was glad I took my own pillows and sheets. I won't stay there again.

Last time I stayed there they charged my card a dollar, when I arrived this time I asked them about it and they said that your company must have done it, which I know is a lie, because on my on line bank said it was charged from the hotel. Came home this time and there was no charge this time.

This motel is filthy! The carpet is nasty, dirty linen, and has no central air! The air conditioning was a floor fan sitting on a table. The phone didn't work and the shower had very low water pressure. I would not recommend this room to my worst enemy! Pay the extra $5 for a better room. You'll be glad you avoided this one!

No air conditioning. Only a box fan which needed to be placed on floor in front of open front door. Color on top half of picture on TV was gone. When I had hotel manager look at it, he said all the TVs where like that! Rooms very aged and small.

Very uncomfortale and HOT. Weather was in the 100s and they had no AC in any of their rooms and on top of that, it was not disclosed by reservations that this particular hotel/motel had no A/C AT ALL. that is why we only stayed one night and stayed in the Casinos 'cause we couldn't stand the room specially because myself and my husband are Sr. Citizens […] with HBP and I did't want to have a stroke because it was so hot in the room. In addition, the furnitures like the vanity was as old as Moses and their towels were sooooo old that I would use it as a rug at home. I used our own paper towels to dry ouselves up because I wouldn't even touch their towels due to their condition. SUGGESTION: RESERVATIONS SHOULD INFORM CLIENTS MAKING ROOM RESERVATIONS OF THE AMENITIES OF THE HOTEL/MOTEL. I'VE BEEN LITERALLY ALL OVER THE WORLD- EUROPE, ALL OF MEXICO, ASIA (even in a third world country BUT HAD NEVER EXPERIENCED STAYING IN A HOTEL/MOTEL ROOM W/ NO A/C. It is unheard of. Read more
