the stay was fine,,,nice bed, clean room, air conditioning was great....wasted alot of time checking in,,,the former tenants were not checked out in time and the room had to be cleaned afterwards...did not like the wait time.

In the summer we stayed two nights and really enjoyed it. Somehow we managed to get a room on the outside of the building so we had a view of the water somewhat. The hotel doesn't look like it is very well maintained from the outside, but the room was clean and comfortable with working everything--water, AC, fridge, microwave, etc. The parking lot looks […] kind of dreary at night, but we did only spend $79 a night, so we couldn't be too disappointed. We never had any trouble with hearing people outside or next door, even though the parking lot looked like they had almost every room full. We were mostly pleased with the price and location because it is within walking distance to a little bar and really close to our favorite restaurant. We are going back to Rockport this summer and will definitely consider staying here again. Read more

I thought the hotel was decent but the parking situation was strange. The closest parking to many of the rooms actually belonged to the neighboring hotel. And there was a sign saying that one would get their car towed if they parked there and weren't registered at the "other" hotel.

Carpet in room was filthy and felt wet. Had a strange smell, walls had yellow streaks on them. We stayed two nights and floors were not vacummed the second day at all. Ran out of toilet paper as maid did not leave extra roll. . Will not stay here or at this chain ever again.

THE GOOD: The location of this hotel was very convenient. THE BAD: Parking was absolutely nonexistant, very inconvenient. Staff was preoccupied watching TV and not very friendly. Reasonable rates and close to the bay and local stores and restraunts.Would have been nice to have a map in the room to show streets and location of stores,restraunts and local attractions. My favoriteplace to eat was the Big Fisherman but had to drive around or ask for directions.I was familiar with area but had not been there in years.

We found the location terrific. It was close to everything we had planned on seeing and doing. This was a nice hotel. We had stayed here for a beach wedding and it was soo close to the beach and pavillion. The beds were very comfortable. They had waffles and muffins for breakfast.

The location itself is pretty nice, but the AC is noisy, the mattresses come with a plastic cover and the breakfast room is simply to small. Cleaning of the bathroom was debatable as well.

.The things that we did not liked was the air conditioner sparked smoke, and we had to change rooms from king size bed to a 2 full size bed and the continental breakfast didn`t have a lot of choices like others hotel that I stayed had. Checking out did not get a receipt because printer was broken.

Nice clean place to stay right in the middle of town..BUT no outdoor area to sit and visit, no plants or nice shade to hang out..and no shade at the freezing swimming pool..I found it sterile. This is great for fishermen who are gone all day and need a clean place to stay...would not rec for girlfriends or families..

Our experience was a very good one. The room was very clean and had everything you may need while vacationing: clean towels, dining area, iron and board, hair dryer, even a micro and fridge. We enjoyed the breakfast, large variety of menu items to choose from...love the waffles! Room was very clean, and good value for the price. Fairly quiet, as rooms surround courtyard, set back from the main road. Not many restaurants close by, but within a mile or two north there are many choices.

Hotel stay was "wonderful", room King-Deluxe was perfect, bed was "so" comfortable, * Big window facing the Rockport/Fulton Bay, (all the rooms at this site face toward the Bay. * walking distant to the beach, * tons of restaurants around, * Valero next door, * great breakfast buffet, make your own waffles + juices, coffees, pigs in the blanket, muffins, […] plus. * Very clean & superb service. * Small antique stores to shop up the street on Austin St. * Only 10 min. from Port A * Close to the large Cobano Pier, (this pier is what used to be the bridge once) runs all the way across the same size of the tall bridge above it, it's huge (My husband caught a large black drum fish). "Highly Recommended" Stayed there because all of Port A- was sold out (Spring Break), but will definetely stay here again. I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel since it's inexpensive for the area. It's in good repair, clean, comfortable, and quiet enough. The wall-insert air conditioner made noise as that style always does, but it didn't keep me awake. The shower head is a bit strange and the mechanism even requires instructions to operate it, but it gets the job done […] fine, and it's high enough that tall people won't bump their heads on the nozzle. The towels are not fancy but slightly better than minimalist. There's a hair dryer. Free breakfast is standard fare served over a long period starting quite early, which is good. The desk people were friendly although not especially quick. The pool looked OK and is hidden somewhat from the road. The history of this place is confusing. This used to be a Holiday Inn Express, but they just finished building a new Holiday Inn Express next door with what seems to be the same street address, and this changed to America's Best Value Inn. Both are run by the same management. The current HIE is newer but also a little more expensive. This Inn was fine for me. The location was good for us as we were going out to see Whooping Cranes on a boat from Fulton, which I recommend over Rockport because the boat trip is shorter and you can avoid most of the sometimes-dense Rockport traffic. Several good restaurants, and a large grocery store, are less than a mile away. Read more
