I have stayed in hotels priced about the same, and were a lot nicer. It is an old hotel and i don't think the weather makes the property look a little weathered. Also, the pictures on the internet make the room look huge, which are not; they dinky

Very reasonably priced hotel with very basic room set up. However, the 2 most important criteria - a comfortable bed and shower - were not acceptable. Mattress was hard - and the bed spread was worn looking and torn. Really old television with poor picture quality. Internet connection was not available.

We often stay at Shilo Inns when traveling. Your desk personnel are always warm and friendly which we enjoy. This property in Tigard, Oregon is not looking very well inside with stains on carpet and old dark colors in main areas. The heating pipes creaked pretty much all night on the third floor, so maybe we got two hours of sleep! Not very restful The advertised continental breakfast is usually stocked with a do it yourself waffle making station and variety of fresh fruit. This property didn't have much to call a breakfast starter. We liked the yogurt in the fridge. Suggestion at check in, you could ask how many of guest party would like to try the Continental Breakfast? You can be better prepared for them to try it! Thanks!

Man at the front desk was rude and actually left the desk to go outside and smoke knowing we were waiting to check in. He was of no help at all regarding our confirmed reservation. Said he couldn't find it on his computer and was not willing to help us figure out why. He said we would have to figure it out. Not willing to call, check the fax, or look up the confirmation number. BAD SERVICE!! "Free" breakfast was awful! We ended up finding someplace else to eat. Room run down.

Nothing really wrong with this Shilo Inn. Honestly thought it would be better, after nearly 20 years of boycotting Mr. Hemstreet. If I have business in the area again, I may consider it because it is a known factor now.

The staff was super friendly, the room was pretty clean except the hairs on the comforter and the big stain on the seat of the chair. The pillow was so hard and the bed very lumpy, which left me very tired from the terrible nights sleep. The part that really grossed me out was the comforter had long black hairs on the it, so I knew they were not ours as I have short blonde hair and my husband has super short black.

a/c unit was loud and obnoxious, ran all night long. Pillows were flat and must have been run through a grape press. Property is old and tired but cheap night sleep is why I picked it and served the purpose. No real surprises.

The hotel is old and in need of updating. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was helpful. Breakfast was adequate, but bring your own fruit. It is very close to Washington Square Mall (which is what I wanted) and the highway. I would definitely stay there again, especially for the price.

Staff when I checked wasn't the nicest, wasn't rude though. Room was good, not to fancy but not to dull. I may have ended up with a king suite instead of a queen, I'm not complaining though. Overall a good place to lay your head for the night.

The bed was very uncomfortable. The furniture in the room was hard and very difficult to sit in for very long. The room was clean and so were the facilities. It was quiet, which was nice For the price it was not bad, but an upgrade to the mattresses would make a huge difference.

The first impression when you drive in is of plastic chairs right in the front with smokers sitting around, a shirtless tattoed man, sort of distasteful, watching everyone arrive. Not a good first impression. Front desk workers very nice.

Although, I thought the complimentary breakfast was fair...everything else was better than expected for the price. I really feel that it was quite a bargain, especially when there were only 4 hotels with rooms in the entire Portland area. Next time, there is a very good chance that we will stay here again (without the rest of the team) and save the extra cash! Oh, BTW, the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. We arrived at 10pm and there was a crowd-super efficient! Thanks Shilo.

It served it's purpose. Elevator was broken, on and off throughout stay. Staff was ambivalent at best. Good freeway location, good if you want to be close to the mall. Sketchy neighborhood. Saw three drunk guys leave a pole standing in the middle of the intersection at 1 am, told the clerk about it, not a lot of urgency behind it.

To start off, we arrived with firetrucks in the parking lot. Person at the counter (very rude) said it was nothing. Come to find out it was an issue with the elevators (burning smell lasted 2 days) and "they would be fixed shortly". No elevators for 2 whole days we stayed out of 3. Our team coach got stuck on one of them for over 15 mins. Oh, did I say that out room was on the 2nd floor and lugging a cooler back and forth twice a day (up & down those stairs) got a old. Not to mention the ice machine was out all 3 days (that was another BIGGIE BS issue from the front counter person. THEN the smoke alarm in one of our teams room when off, 20 mins for the counter staff to arrive and climb on the bed in her shoes to pull if off the wall to "fix it. Building is very old, smells OLD and the counter help was rude, non-caring and not very professional. I don't know how HOTEL>COM keeps listing them. My wife has stayed 2 times over this last yr. It will not happen EVER AGAIN... spend the extra $10 and be more comfortable somewhere else. SHILO needs a re-vamp in their mgmt. and priorities of building maintenance.

The ice machine didn't work, the free wifi never connected on my phone, and there were very thin walls. We could hear bits of conversations while walking down the hallway, and people snoring in the room directly above ours. The bed was comfortable enough, and I loved the pillows. So, if you're not a light sleeper it's not a bad little hotel.

Carpet had stains everywhere. Linens not clean. Holes in the comforter. Not pinholes mind you - but five holes about the size of a quarter. Throw it out already. The staff was friendly and nice. Lastly there is no pool. Hotels.com says there is a pool. Repeat: There is NO pool. There is a hot tub/spa.

The location proximity for the Washington square and other stores are appealing. The room was quiet considering the closeness with the freeway. The room was small but had microwave oven, refrigerator, coffee maker and TV. The Cable TV was old tube type and needthe receptione was not good. It need to be upgraded to the digital flat screen TV. The free continental breakfast was good enough. But the room have to have more table and chaires.

This is the typical mid 70's road side motel tucked in to a shopping district. The rooms are small with low ceilings, and the lack of a recent remodel or serious cleaning makes it very close to disgusting. The staff is nice and friendly, but overall this is only some place you will want to stay if all of the other local chains are booked (Marriott, Hilton, etc.). I am not a business traveler that chases the cheapest prices as much as attempting to balance price and quality to be able to sleep!
