Worst Shilo inn ever!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Pleasant staff - had all the conveniences for a quick overnight stop.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff was super friendly, the room was pretty clean except the hairs on the comforter and the big stain on the seat of the chair. The pillow was so hard and the bed very lumpy, which left me very tired from the terrible nights sleep. The part that really grossed me out was the comforter had long black hairs on the it, so I knew they were not ours […] as I have short blonde hair and my husband has super short black. "convenient to Wash Sq. and Beaverton"
a/c unit was loud and obnoxious, ran all night long. Pillows were flat and must have been run through a grape press. Property is old and tired but cheap night sleep is why I picked it and served the purpose. No real surprises.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"facility needs better upkeep"
front desk not too frendly, reception area very small to accomodate more than 4 personsGenuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient location, met expectations"
I was surprised how functional the room was, compared to spending the next night at a much fancier, more expensive hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Old, but comfortable"
The hotel is old and in need of updating. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was helpful. Breakfast was adequate, but bring your own fruit. It is very close to Washington Square Mall (which is what I wanted) and the highway. I would definitely stay there again, especially for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for what it is."
Staff when I checked wasn't the nicest, wasn't rude though. Room was good, not to fancy but not to dull. I may have ended up with a king suite instead of a queen, I'm not complaining though. Overall a good place to lay your head for the night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The bed was very uncomfortable. The furniture in the room was hard and very difficult to sit in for very long. The room was clean and so were the facilities. It was quiet, which was nice For the price it was not bad, but an upgrade to the mattresses would make a huge difference.Genuine Expedia guest review
"it is starting to show it's age, could use TLC"
The hotel is ok, it just needs to be updated. The elevator makes a LOT of noise, kinda worrisome. Not a bad place for the age of the hotelGenuine Expedia guest review
"Stayed in better hotel for less cost"
Room smelled like old tobacco bathroom was clean but it was crampedGenuine Expedia guest review
The first impression when you drive in is of plastic chairs right in the front with smokers sitting around, a shirtless tattoed man, sort of distasteful, watching everyone arrive. Not a good first impression. Front desk workers very nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff was very nice. However, the air conditioner barely kept the room cool even though it was on all night. The bed was horribly uncomfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Shilo Inn Washington Square needs updating"
Room smelled and bed sagged badly - checked out early to move to another hotel because we couldn't sleep with the refrigerator running so loudlyGenuine Expedia guest review
the place was a dump. rooms are too small, outdated, bad linensGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Conveniet to Washington Square"
filthy stained carpets in room, old food on furntiture. They do not have any idea on how to clean a room.Genuine Expedia guest review
"nothing too impressive for the price"
Cons: Room was small. TV was very old and also small. Bed only had two pillows. Hotel rather noisy. Not woth the $95 price tag. Pros: Decent continental breakfast. Rooms were clean. Was close to shopping, restaurants, and I-217. Walking distance to 7-11 and gas stations.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Short stay in Portland for a wedding."
The hotel staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The hotel and rooms is dated and a little worn, but the rooms were clean and quiet. Was well worth what we paid to spend the night.Genuine Expedia guest review
"what a deal!"
Although, I thought the complimentary breakfast was fair...everything else was better than expected for the price. I really feel that it was quite a bargain, especially when there were only 4 hotels with rooms in the entire Portland area. Next time, there is a very good chance that we will stay here again (without the rest of the team) and save the […] extra cash! Oh, BTW, the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. We arrived at 10pm and there was a crowd-super efficient! Thanks Shilo. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
It served it's purpose. Elevator was broken, on and off throughout stay. Staff was ambivalent at best. Good freeway location, good if you want to be close to the mall. Sketchy neighborhood. Saw three drunk guys leave a pole standing in the middle of the intersection at 1 am, told the clerk about it, not a lot of urgency behind it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Past reviews were right: DONT STAY HERE!!!"
To start off, we arrived with firetrucks in the parking lot. Person at the counter (very rude) said it was nothing. Come to find out it was an issue with the elevators (burning smell lasted 2 days) and "they would be fixed shortly". No elevators for 2 whole days we stayed out of 3. Our team coach got stuck on one of them for over 15 mins. Oh, did I […] say that out room was on the 2nd floor and lugging a cooler back and forth twice a day (up & down those stairs) got a old. Not to mention the ice machine was out all 3 days (that was another BIGGIE BS issue from the front counter person. THEN the smoke alarm in one of our teams room when off, 20 mins for the counter staff to arrive and climb on the bed in her shoes to pull if off the wall to "fix it. Building is very old, smells OLD and the counter help was rude, non-caring and not very professional. I don't know how HOTEL>COM keeps listing them. My wife has stayed 2 times over this last yr. It will not happen EVER AGAIN... spend the extra $10 and be more comfortable somewhere else. SHILO needs a re-vamp in their mgmt. and priorities of building maintenance. "close to most softball fields"
Was not impressed the elevator didn't work, the ice machine stopped working. My daughter's room the smoke detector was beeping so the front desk person just disconnected it, they didn't replace the battery. The front desk staff was rude.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel was on the older side. The bed was very comfortable. It is very conveniently located.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Light sleeper? Don't do it.."
The ice machine didn't work, the free wifi never connected on my phone, and there were very thin walls. We could hear bits of conversations while walking down the hallway, and people snoring in the room directly above ours. The bed was comfortable enough, and I loved the pillows. So, if you're not a light sleeper it's not a bad little hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Staff Fine. Place is a dump"
Carpet had stains everywhere. Linens not clean. Holes in the comforter. Not pinholes mind you - but five holes about the size of a quarter. Throw it out already. The staff was friendly and nice. Lastly there is no pool. Hotels.com says there is a pool. Repeat: There is NO pool. There is a hot tub/spa.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The location proximity for the Washington square and other stores are appealing. The room was quiet considering the closeness with the freeway. The room was small but had microwave oven, refrigerator, coffee maker and TV. The Cable TV was old tube type and needthe receptione was not good. It need to be upgraded to the digital flat screen TV. The free […] continental breakfast was good enough. But the room have to have more table and chaires. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
It's more like a motel. Awful smell outside and inside the room. Holes in the comforter. The TV is so old.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Less than sufficient"
Hotel smells of stale smoke even though it is a non-smoking facility. Bed is rock hard with virtually non-existent pillows. The entire place seems dingy and dull. Breakfast is mediocre at best.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the rooms are small. The TV was not plugged in. There is a hole in the carpet under the sink. The carpet was not vacuumed well especially around the edges. Noted many areas of the hotel that need repair and upkeep.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Rates are the best. The hotel is dated (early 80's), but very clean and in a great location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Enjoyed my stay, although beds could be not as hard.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the quality of the room was what i was expecting for the price range. it was easy to find and access to and from the freeway was convenient and it was close to some of the specialty food stores and mall.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice but needs updating"
Good. Hotel needs updating to come out of the 80's with the decor.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"tigard shilo inn"

"Not a hidden gem at the price......"
This is the typical mid 70's road side motel tucked in to a shopping district. The rooms are small with low ceilings, and the lack of a recent remodel or serious cleaning makes it very close to disgusting. The staff is nice and friendly, but overall this is only some place you will want to stay if all of the other local chains are booked (Marriott, […] Hilton, etc.). I am not a business traveler that chases the cheapest prices as much as attempting to balance price and quality to be able to sleep! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

""Convenient location, that's about it.""
Besides the convenience of the location, and the friendly staff, the hotel was not the best place we could have stayed, which we knew, for the price. However, sheets were still dirty when we arrived, the table in the room barely stood up straight, the ceiling had major water damage, and the bed was probably from the 90's.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to family locations."
We had stayed at this location a year ago. Very pleaant stay. The owner suggested we call the hotel directly next time we make reservations. I had decided to book through Hotels.com to eventually get a free room. I hope to attain that goal...but I'm not convinced it's a bargain!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I stayed at this hotel just 3 days prior and the room was fabulous. This stay the room was not as clean and it was very hard to sleep as the small fridge kept clicking off and on and the room this time was so tiny the fridge was right there next to me! This room was on the 3rd floor my last room was on the 2nd. Overall for price hotel is good value. […] But decor and cleanliness was different from one stay to the next one room to the next. Carpet edges dusty, back of TV dusty, holes in blanket, etc. Will stay again but want the first room I stayed in. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"very convenient to every thing"
The Shilo is the located in an excellent location. It is convenient to shopping, eating, freeway, etc. The Hotel could use a little remodel, but it was clean and that is the most important.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Clean room. Friendly front desk. Easy check in and out. TV was older but worked fine. Well lit parking. Plenty of towels. Small fridge in room with coffee pot. Good value. Will stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"need to get away"
aside from the broken ice machine, this is a nice place to stay!Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was cheap all the way around. The price was low yes! The breakfast was so-so. The TV came in very fuzzy and was very old. I think it was on its last legs. It still had the old Nintendo 64. If you just need a cheap place to stay and you are not expecting to much this is your place to stay. This Shiloh is not up to the same standard as all the […] other Shiloh's that I have stayed at. I will not be staying here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

My soon-to-be-husband and i went to Portland to spend his birthday and for the price it wasn't too bad. Located right off the highway and easy access to the Washington Square mall. Had a great time!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
