The location was excellent. The room needed updating and the queen bed was sunken in the middle. The mirror mirror in the bathroom was not clean and the fixtures in the bathroom needed replacing. It did have a nice granite counter top and shower surround, but they should have finished that off with new shower head and sink faucet. "Small but comfortable and close to the beach"
Overall the experience was great. Despite the small room, it was comfy and clean. The lady at the check in desk was super friendly and even offered us a ride to the amtrak station after our stay. We were extremely please & happy with our stay at Shilo Inn in Seaside. The location was excellent to both the beach and the shops downtown. The Shilo Inn perfectly fit our needs. It's right on the beach, and we had a room with a little loft that faced the ocean. We tried to spend the least amount of time in the room as possible. During check in the manager or owner was quite rude. He yelled at his workers in front of everyone and had little interest in answering my questions. The room had no air conditioning so at night the temperature was very hot. This was the first time I stayed at Shilo Inn in Seaside and I would definitely stay there again. The location is perfect! Right on the beach at the turnaround and a few steps away from the aquarium. The staff were friendly, the bed was comfy, but there was NO air conditioning and no fan so the only way to cool the room was by opening the ONE window […] in it. We did not sleep all that well bacuse it was so warm in there and we went in June. I can only imagine what it aould be like in August. The balcony has a lovely view, and the facilities are clean. Offers a steam room and sauna with a lovely 24 hour pool. It was fantastic! We had a small room away from the ocean the first night. It was very nice, but small. We moved to an ocean view room the second night and it was amazing! We stayed here and it's a nice hotel very nice location right on the beach and close to all the shops and restaurants. Only complaint is we had real loud people check in at 11:30 at night kept waking us up all night and then were up at 7 making noise wish that hadn't happened. "You Get What You Pay For"
I will never stay at this hotel again. You get what you pay for. The element of the hotel was questionable and the staff seemed either all new or very uninformed. When I asked about where the ice machine was located, I was told, "If it doesn't work on your floor you will need to go to floor three. If that one doesn't work you will need to go to floor […] four." Really? The rooms are very small and not so clean. I was up all night with my neighbor slamming the door continuously! The queen size bed is downstairs on the city side of the hotel. You then go upstairs to a loft area that has two chairs with a big window that looks out over the roof. "Less than expected"
When we checked in we were given a room #. We went to the room with our belongings and and neither key card worked. I called to the desk and they sent someone up. They asked for my last name and evidently were told another name. WE got that straightened out and then the person unsuccessfully tried to unlock the ddor with our keys. He, then, opened the […] door with a master key and walked away. I opened the door and to my surprise found 2 women occupying the unit. I then had to track him down and he determined that the desk clerk had written down the wrong room # on the envelope. WE had the room next door. Well, it was a VERY small room which was supposed to have an ocean view (as advertised). To get that view one had to go upstair to a loft. With my bad knees that was painful, but when I got up there I sat in their chair. The chair was so low to the ground that what I got was a great view of the ..............roof. "We got what we paid for"
I have been to seaside Oregon numerous times, but this was our first stay with our 19month old. I was excited to find the deal on Expedia. The website said the pool was going to be closed from may1st-7th when we checked in on the 30th the pool had already been drained. We were hoping to be able to use it at least for a day, the lady working at the desk […] said we could use their sister locations pool if we wanted to across town. I was kind of disappointed in that. The mattress was incredibly beat up, it looked like an adjustable bed that the foot and head rose, kind of like a recliner, but not comfortable. And there was no continental breakfast. "Not deserving of your moner"
First night- We arrived in the late afternoon. In the adjoining room was a family from h***, very noisy and the kids kept banging on the closed adjoing door. Went to the front desk and asked to be moved and were accommodated with a room next to the one we were already in and it was OK. Second night- another family from h*** moved into the adjoining […] room, only these good folks had a yippie little dog. 40 minutes after they arrived they left I assume to go eat. As soon as they were gone the dog started in. We gave it five or ten minutes to see if it would calm down but it didn't so again, I went to the front desk. I told them that we either needed to be moved or given a refund so we could go somewhere else. She said they couldn't do that but they would call the people and have them come take care of the dog. About 45 minutes later the people did come back. They finally went to bed about 11PM. We were woken at 5AM to the sound of howling dog. In spite of what the General Manager says in a previous response they won't especially move you to a different room or even resolve the issue. Why should your customers have to ask for a quiet room?
