Employees were rude and the first room we had was filthy, enough that they had to move us. "Ocean view was the best part"
Checked in, packed the luggage to our room, I like to do a visual bed inspection and cleanliness inspection. For 1 our pillow cases had stains the sheets had stains, nothing against pets but for those like ourselves without pets should not have to rent a room with Dog hair on the comforters. 2nd the coffee pot was in the bathroom? Toilet would not flush. […] And I had paid for a upgrade go figure! We got a new room they have me a upgrade refund, plus put us in a suite separate living room, but the suite was out dated carpet was ripply cabinets were very out dated beds were not comfortable, the suite smelt stale. Cleaning faculty could use a training course walks had stains and very dusty and good crumbs along the walls. "Disappointment in the room . . ."
The room was a total dump.Smelled horrible, and despite opening the window for the ocean front breeze, the smell never really went away, pop corn ceilings, horrendous decor, furniture with chunks ripped out of it. Exterior was rusting and looked like it had needed paint and new trim since 1980 and the TV was also from that decade. The staff was friendly, […] but more concerned about themselves and having fun at work then they were about their guests. Manager was hanging out around the check in desk, but didn't make eye contact never-mind welcome us and was more concerned about getting his registers/receipts so he could leave for the day vs. taking care of his guests. Then again, how could you proudly welcome someone to your establishment when you know it's a dump. "View was great but room was not"
The hotel staff was great but the room was not. We paid $130 for just one night. The carpet was pulling up, the room was really small and the bathroom door stop had mold on it. The location of the hotel is awesome. Right off the beach, which is ideal if wanting to play in the sand. The pool was clean and decent. The rooms were outdated and semi-clean. Rooms needed a little more maintaining. When we checked in I found hair on the toilet, the plate between the bathroom and door hadn't been cleaned. Some minor discoloration in the bathroom (rust) I think. Furniture was pretty banged up like it hadn't been replaced or upgraded in years. Our stay didn't really start out on the right foot..the lady at the front desk was gruff and had apparently had a stressful day. "Dated and dirty."
I booked this room for one night, and was very dissatisfied with the overall experience. My wife, our two children and I stayed in the room. When we first walked in it smelled like burnt plastic, the mirrors were dirty, and there was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. If I was to guess I would say that the room has not been updated since the place […] was built (80's or 90's). We were on the third floor and I was very nervous about my kids getting too close to the windows when they were open because there were no screens on them. "I guess you're close to the beach...."
Took the family here to stay the night at the coast and I figured Shilo inn would be a good place to go since we had booked with them in Bend and have had great experiences with that property. I was under the impression there would be free breakfast since the website advertises it but was merely handed a couple dollar off coupons for the restaurant. […] But trust me, not getting a free breakfast isn't enough to write a bad review. This hotel advertises "oceanfront" rooms when in reality the front door of your hotel room is facing the coast. Sure, there's a window facing that way as well but if you enjoy privacy you won't really have a view of the coast. We couldn't get our room to cool down in the middle of March so I thought I could open the window in the bathroom but was only greeted with a screen less window. Along with how outdated the room was, the ice machine room had a big pile of paint chipping all over the carpet. Our room didn't have a flat screen, a very old outdated TV with no guide present. The room did appear clean. However, when it was time to check out, I was not asked how my stay was. I knew right then that we would not be returning at that particular Shilo Inn especially for the price of $140. Do yourself a favor, skip this hotel. My husband and I have six kids and went there on valentines day to get away, and we brought our DVD player to enjoy some relaxing movie time, and the clerk told us that at that hotel they specifically have Tvs to keep you from hooking up a DVD player! Elizabeth inn next door not only has bigger rooms with jacuzzis in the rooms […] as well as a fireplace, sliding glass door with a balcony, and come with DVD players in them, and they serve lobster chowder and cookies, plus a continental breakfast for the same rate!
