"Excellent place to stay in snow or sun"
Comfy beds, friendly and accommodating staff, breakfast that included protein as well as carbs. One night only for us, but if we are ever this way again, this is where we will stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"An o.k. hotel for a short stay"
The Shilo Inn is located at the entrance to Mammoth, on the main street at the junction of the Old Mammoth Road. For $100-$169.00 a night you get friendly service, parking, free internet, complimentary breakfast and comfy bed. It is not a Motel 6, it is for the price, also not a night at the Marriot. The furnishings are outdated, the elevator is incredibly […] slow, and that free breakfast does leave a little to be desired. That said, it's a fine place for a short stay especially if you get a rate at or below $100.00. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Stop over in Mammoth Lakes"
Traveling from San Dimas,CA to Reno, NV, Mammoth Lakes is a good half way point to stop for the night and Shilo Inn was a nice place to spend the night.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great place for family stay"
Great place to stay with family in a friendly environment. Hotel amenities were great for the price we paid.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Over the years I've stayed in several different hotels in Mammoth Lakes, before and after pack trips into the high Sierra. In my opinion the Shilo Inn is far superior to comparably priced hotels in the area. It has spacious, clean rooms with comfortable beds and air conditioning; provides covered parking, and offers a decent complimentary breakfast. […] The location is convenient, and there is no late night outside party noise, like you experience in other parts of Mammoth Lakes during summer season. The staff is friendly and competent. My only concern is that Shilo still uses actual room keys rather than key cards. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place to stay at a good value"
My two daughters and I shared a standard room with two queen beds. The room was clean and cozy. My complaints are that the bathroom had only two bath towels available and the hotel is physically starting to show its years. A cool perk that my daughters loved was that there is a 24 hour pool/jacuzzi/sauna/steam room/exercise room available for guest […] s. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Jewel of Mammoth"
Pleasantly surprised to find this hotel. Super nice staff, comfortable spacious room with refrigerator and microwave . Could easily stay here a week. Great location on main route with pharmacy, food, and gas station next door.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The front desk clerk who was on duty when we checked in was as unhelpful as she could be. To make up for it, she gave us the impression that she really didn't care. When you are on a getaway, you always have questions about the area and an expectation in a resort type place that the staff will at least have some minimal knowledge.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was clean, the front desk personnel were friendly and helpful. We were very close to the shuttle stops. We just didn't get our room cleaned one day at all. We left the room around 10:30 am and removed the do not disturb sign from our door and the maid just didn't clean it. Other than that we didn't have any complaints.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice stay while in Mammoth Lakes"
Hotel was conveniently located and nice enough. It is older style and near ski resort. Close for summer hiking and site seeing activities we had planned on our road trip.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed for 4 nights. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was better than I expected. The rooms were quite large with plenty of room to move about. The toilet was older and sometimes you weren't sure if they would flush all the way! Air worked well. They need to make the curtains black out shades, that sun would shine thru at 7am, and that […] was with them closed. I would stay here again! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good value in Mammoth Lakes"
Nice hotel. Good location. Clean and spacious rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast area a little lacking... you eat in the workout room!Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel staff was very friendly. From the front desk to house keeping and the kitchen. Very clean and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. I stayed in mammoth for business I would have appreciated a updated television. Design of hotel seemed stuck back in time. Otherwise nice location not to far from the lakes and restaurants.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Good spot for jumping off on a backpacking trip.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Tv didnt work even though it was a 17" tv from the 80's. Convenient having a fridge and microwave although the fridge would not stay cold. Weird smell throughout the whole hotel. Steam room was nice but didnt actually pump out steam just a weird hot air. Overall the breakfast was the best part of the whole stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Not a fancy 5 star hotel, but it has all we need for family travel. Hotel room is big, clean and bed is very comfortable. WIFI is very fast. We were pleasantly surprised that they have a nice indoor pool as well as fitness center. They also provide hot breakfast which is very convenient for family try with little kids.Genuine Expedia guest review
Stay in this hotel is very nice, everything is good except internet speed.Genuine Expedia guest review

Enjoyed hotel. Rooms were fine. I just wish they had a shuttle to ski resort.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great for a basic stay."
This hotel is near a delicious breakfast diner ,rental shop and local transit line. Getting to the hotel from the airport was really easy thanks to the hotel pick-up van. The staff was very friendly and informative. Only downside to this stay was the bed; it was incredibly firm and uncomfortable to sleep on.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Run Down and Old. Just a place to sleep."
This place needs a major refurb. Old carpet, old paint, old style. Smelly. The pool is gross and they supply you with a washcloth sized towel for the pool. Rooms have old SD tube TVs if that gives you an idea of the decor and last time this place was updated. The only good part, is it's location, since you can go walk to other things. Its a place to […] sleep after you go to the slopes... nothing more. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"organic coffee across the street"
I appreciate the help from the staff loaning me a charger for my phone and the rooms were clean and comfy. Our bed could of been a bit softer for my husband and the elevator faster since I hurt myself and couldn't take the stairs very easily. I think the price was overly priced for a week day but over all it was worth it. The area is beautiful and people […] that live there seem to take good care of it. The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and it is a great place to stay on the cheap if you are only going to Mammoth to hit the slopes. The only thing I disliked about the room is that there was no bottom sheet on the beds. Also, the parking was a bit lacking and the full breakfast is not actually a full breakfast but rather just some pastries […] and juices. Otherwise, it was clean and served its purpose for the weekend. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Shilo Inn Suites - Mammoth Lakes We do appreciate your kind words regarding your stay at the Mammoth Lakes Shilo. Thank you for letting us know about the mishap with your bedding. We certainly didn’t mean to make up your bed without a bottom sheet! I hope you were able to contact housekeeping and get that resolved. Please come back and see us again and we certainly will watch how we are making your beds! Sincerely, Sydney Brayton General Manager
"Hotel staff Terrible!"
The staff of the hotel is terrible. We arrived earlier and they told us that the check in was at 4:00 pm. When I asked them to hold my luggage they told me that they would not hold it and that if I were to leave it at the hotel, they would not be responsible. When trying to go to a higher level in the staff for help, the hotel general manager did not […] help either. I would NOT recommend this hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Shilo Inn Suites - Mammoth Lakes We are sorry to hear that you had troubles checking in early at the hotel. At the time, we were not able to secure your luggage as the lock to our Ski Locker room was damaged. We certainly did not want to make you feel like we were ‘terrible’. We also are sorry that conveying that to you was not clear and we just did not want anything of yours to go missing. Again, our apologies. Sydney Brayton General Manager
"Great welcome, friendly staff"
2nd submitted review previous was judged too severe by hosting site. The concierge service assisted in the best possible welcome and to reconciliated on line invoicing issues. Would be a great place for familly sky vacations!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good Basic Place to Stay"
While this hotel is a bit aged and is nothing spectacular, if you are looking for a decent, no frills place to stay in Mammoth consider the Shilo Inn. The rooms are good sized and clean (if a little old.) There are no views but this is convenient to shops and restaurants in town.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Very Basic No Frills Hotel"
Good basic hotel which is my preferred hotel in the Mammoth Area. Not the most comfortable bed and pillows but the rooms are clean and everything works. Rooms have a sink and refrigerator and I think a microwave. Across the parking lot is a McDonalds - great if you have kids. Covered parking is great if it rains or snows or simply to keep your car cool […] on a hot day. Located at the entrance of Mammoth Lakes so you can get in and out of town quickly. If you're looking for a place to stay, don't hesitate to checkout the Shilo Inn. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Staff not very friendly, breakfast disappointing, always out of coffee. It seems they cater to the Euro travelers because many of the guests were from Germany etc. I would not stay here again. When we checked out they gave us one receipt to sign then another receipt that was for the same amount as the first. Kind of strange accounting to get two bills […] charged to your credit card. Response by Shilo Inn Suites - Mammoth Lakes Thank you for choosing Shilo Inn, Mammoth Lakes. Your review and thoughts regarding your stay at the Shilo Inn Mammoth Lakes are appreciated. We will address the issues you mentioned with the appropriate departments. Our complimentary Breakfast does have it’s challenges. We all would like more room to offer a bigger selection. We are sorry that our accounting system seemed confusing, as the two receipts were identical, one for your records and one for ours. "Great Place to Stay"
The hotel clerks were very friendly and helpful. The lobby area and room were both clean and nice. We were located close to downtown shops and restaurants, and just a short drive from some of the world's most beautiful mountain scenery. We were very happy with your stay!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Price to charm ratio is poor. Yes, Mammoth Lakes is expensive, but I'll keep hunting around when I come again. Maybe an older building on a side street where you can open the windows and enjoy the Sierra air instead of the noise in the adjacent parking lots.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"If you just need a no-frills room, this is fine."
The hotel was dated and seemed like it had not been modernized or upgraded in many years. It was OK for me and my family for the 2 days we were there, but we didn't stay in the room too much and didn't think the property was attractive enough to make us want to be there more.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel near Yosemite NP and Bodie State Park"
Hotel was conveniently located for visiting Yosemite National Park, as well as Bodie State Park, an abandoned gold-mining ghost town that was been preserved. The staff was pleasing to work with; in fact, we had originally planned to stay only one night at this location in Mammoth Lake. Our plan was to tour Bodie the next day before traveling south toward […] Barstow to visit another ghost town, Calico, and then to Big Bear. When we stayed longer than planned at Bodie, I called to check for availabililty early that afternoon from Bodie. The staff actually looked up my information from the morning's check out (saving me trying to repeat it with bad cell phone reception) and gave us the same rooms we had vacated that morning! It worked out perfectly for my family! Thanks, Shiloh! The facility is not the newest or fanciest I've ever stayed in, but it was clean and seemed to be well taken care of. I would stay again the next time I'm in that area visiting. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good location, nice hotel"
Older hotel, but very clean and nice, long continental breakfast (6-10). The rooms are a bit dated, but very clean, with good amenities. We loved the location, had a room in the back away from main traffic, very quiet. Really enjoyed our stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great for the price"
We lost our key ( the old brass kind) and the staff re-keyed the lock at no charge. Great service! Breakfast seating lacking, facility somewhat shabby, but beds and sheets were great. Overall satisfaction on our part.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
room floor was dirty, not enough towels for bath, staff not that friendly on the afternoon evening shift, cleaning of rooms slow, morning staff was great, maint man was great,Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good but not great"
Great location and decent price. Hotel staff was kind. I had 2 issues with my room. First was the furniture, chairs, and especially the TV was 80's. They need to modernize it. It was white with gold trimming. TV was also from 80's and small. I'd say it was a 15" TV for a 2 queen room. The bathroom even had a telephone in it. Definately 80's style. Second, […] my wife found some hair in our bed. We found it in the morning so really was too late to change anything. The hair didn't belong to us. I don't know how to intrepret that. It really grossed me out. This is why i'm giving a 2 rating on Hotel and an avg of 4 for location/staff. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect accommodation for family on the run."
Accommodation perfect for matching our needs, couple and 13 year old. Continental breakfast was outstanding and small refrigerator and bar top sink perfect for us. Hotel staff very accommodating and excellent rapport. Will return for another Shilo experience.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel! Just behind the industry curve"
After spending the previous night at the Best Western in Mammoth Lakes, we stayed at the Shilo Inn the second night as it was about $30 less than Best Western. Overall the staff was friendly, helpful, and the rooms were clean and acceptable. As previously mentioned the decor is a little dated, and in todays market, larger flat screen TV's are a requirement. […] The small 20" or less Tube TV was a disappointment. Location is right on the main drag, lots of restaurants near by, and the continental breakfast was as expected for this style of hotel. Breads, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, waffle maker, Juice, and coffee. During the busy weekend we stayed everone's internet was super slow. Overall i would stay there again if the price was right. I left a message with the hotel staff about some maintenance issues (see below). Otherwise it was fine. We did not use the breakfast as it was not presented very well and was limited.Genuine Expedia guest review
Close to everything and the breakfast was wonderful.Genuine Expedia guest review
Looks like it was last decorated in the 80's. Room was decent but way, way overpriced. Continental breakfast was about the lamest I've come across. Cream cheese acted my like feta.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is our 3rd year staying here. The hotel is clean & comfortable and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. The free breakfast everyday is also a plus.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
