"Nice but staff let me down."
Reserved 2 rooms and specified they be connected. Hotels.com said "Sure, no problem". Arrived early at the hotel and rooms weren't ready. That's OK but are the rooms what I asked for. "Sure, they will be." Tried to check in again at 4PM, the standard check-in time. Rooms not ready, given my "special" request but they will be later, "No problem". Fine. […] We leave to go shopping and an early dinner. Returned to the hotel and our rooms are ready but not connecting. And none are available. In spite of the reservation and two assurances they didn't come through. Rooms were clean. Restaurant was being remodeled. (Should be finished 3/1/13.) Temporarily using the sports bar. "Close to Casino, could drink, and get back safely"
As you know I paid for room, acouple of days in advance, and it cleared the bank next day. When I checked in I was asked for card, which I understand, just in case people were to take things. When I checked my account this evening I see where Marriott charged me $50 dollars, and I do not know why? And I am not happy about that fact. I run my checking […] account close, just in case someone stole my ID, they wouldn't get much. And this could have cost me an overrun, which would have cost more. "Close to several restaurants and shopping centers"
I had booked 2 queen/double beds and when I checked in they only had a King. That wasn't going to work for 2 adults & 2 children. After some time the hotel manager was able to check us into the room we booked. Besides the check in hiccup everything else was great!!! Beautiful, comfortable hotel! It smelled and looked so clean. Absolutely loved the heated, indoor pool with hot tub and sauna. The kids had a great time considering it was the dead of winter. Overall, I guess this hotel is just fine; comfortable bed, decent sized room, quiet, cheap... But there are a couple things that make me think I'd stay somewhere else next time. First of all, the hallways REEK of mildew, and when I say REEK, I mean horribly! The lobby was fine but as soon as I stepped off the elevator into the hallway outside my room, […] I was hit by the smell. It literally stopped me in my tracks and I debated going right back down to the lobby to demand a room on another floor. It's BAD, and it didn't get any better during my stay. The smell inside my room was better, but the mildew odor was still noticable. It is masked by a heavy, perfumey smell, but you can still smell the mildew under the deodorizer. It's just gross. My best guess is that because the windows on this property do not open and because Tulsa is so humid, this is just a problem they can't solve. They can't ever dry the building out enough to get rid of the mildew. Other issues? You can't turn the a/c off! You can adjust the temp up or down, but you can't simply turn it of, so it goes on and off all day and night, whether you need it or not. I also found that the bedding was bizarre. The sheets weren't long enough to tuck in at the foot, so I simply found the sheets and blanket draped over the top of the bed each day. This would be OK if it was a down comforter in a duvet cover, but they dress the beds in just two sheets, with a blanket sandwiched in between them, so it's not comfortable, not cozy and not warm enough. I was cold, and there was no other blanket in the room. Other than that, I'd mention that the bathroom was dated and tiny and that the carpeting was stained. Oh, and that something was up with my tv, so the picture was pixelated at times. On the upside, the bed was comfortable (other than the bedding) and the room is nicely appointed with plenty of outlets and ports for all sorts of things I don't understand. Video imputs on the desk?
