We've stayed in several La Quinta's. The bed was SUPER comfortable, had plenty of pillows, good hot water and all the conveniences for the night before an early flight. Breakfast worked for me, but not my picky husband lol. The typical continental breakfast so I was good. The free shuttle was great....however it does NOT run 24 hours. I believe it was […] 6am-10pm or something. On the way back, we landed at 7pm. I called the hotel and they said the shuttle driver was about to take a break and they offered us to take a cab, and they would reimburse us with a receipt. Talk about service...BEST La Quinta yet. The room was clean, check in a bit rough as it took awhile to be noticed due to a tongue lashing a hotel employee was giving another guest about pillows in Spanish. We stood there at the front desk for 5 minutes or more before someone else, who was on the other side of the "discussion" called to us. Also, it was frustrating that we had to struggle to […] find a taxi because the shuttle quits at 11 PM. Although we tried calling the hotel a few times to find out about the shuttle with no answer, we finally found the information on a sign by baggage. If they would have answered the phone, we might have gotten a shuttle ride instead, apparently the staff was to busy. breakfast: toaster burnt bread and otherwise was typical breakfast... including a waffle. Overall it was a clean place to crash before our next flight in the morning, but sadly not worth the money especially due to a lack of customer service. Old faded and stained carpets, and dirty wall and trim paint combined with a room rate that should be 1st class made this disappointing. They could never get away with these rates and the condition of the hotel if it wasn't near the airport. The bed was comfortable and the staff was nice but I paid about hundred dollars more than I should have.

Very basic hotel filled with people tranfering to cruise lines. There must be a lot of smokers in the hotel because it smelled like smoke.It is located in the middle of an industrial park near the airport. The main thing it ihas going for it is it is cheap and close to the airport.

All I can say is I would have never booked this place if the BCS Championship Game was not in town and all my regular hotels were booked up. The rooms could do with a refurb, looking a little tired, and the bathroom has signs of mildew and peeling wall paper. Also no coffee maker, but there was a fridge? However, the sheets and covers were clean with white comforters - which I prefer over the patterned covers which disguise dirt and stains. Best of all, and the reason I chose this place […] over somewhere with better reviews and star ratings was the convenience of being able to park the car in their own large, fenced lot while we were away (basically they add $8 onto the nightly fee). I get the impression Miami is hard on hotels. The room itself was spotless. The lobby was great. The hallway to my room however had some obvious stains on the carpets. I had some issues with the phones - first i couldn't get in touch with room service. I tried back a half hour later and got through fine. Later I couldn't get the wakeup call to work. […] But I had my cell phone for a wakeup anyway, so no big deal. My friends joined me for one night and there was no extra fee even though it was a last minute addition. I arrived after getting off a cruise ship. I was there hours before check in so sat in the lobby and by the pool reading. I also spent that time taking advantage of the free internet access in the lobby. It would have been an extra $50 to check in early, but the lobby was more than comfortable. I spent that whole first day sleeping & recovering from the cruise. TV had more channels available than the average hotel - when I wasn't asleep I watched Star Trek movies on SyFy. Read more

I was told upon making reservations that the hotel provides complimentary 24 hour shuttle to & from the airport, Miami cruise terminal, and Sun Life Stadium (Miami Dolphins). However, the airport shuttle only runs 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. The shuttle to the cruise […] terminal was free, but they charge $10 per person to come back to the hotel. There was no shuttle to or from Sun Life Stadium. There is a shuttle transport service in the lobby of the hotel (same service that charges to bring you back from the cruise terminal). This shuttle service wanted to charge our group (7 total) $200.00 to take us to the Dolphins game and bring us back. We were able to secure a van taxi for $50.00 each way. After a tiring drive to Miami, and confusion as we tried to find the hotel, we were greeted with friendliness and warmth. The hotel is extremely clean. The mattresses were wonderful!!!! And I enjoyed a refreshing swim in the pool. (For somone from up north, the water was nicely cool.) We will definitely stay at a La Quinta again!!
