"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.
"Affordable Quickie in NY"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.
""Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.
"Nice hotel in the theatre district"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel in the theatre district. Friendly and helpful staff. Basic room accomodations but very clean. Would recommend.

"Could do with some TLC"
There was only a thin blanket and no spare blankets. I couldn't close the blinds properly so light came in. The heater didn't work. When I checked in there was only one person at the desk and a long line of patient people waiting to check in. There are better hotels at similar or slightly higher prices in the area.

Hotel was below expectations on every level. The bed was the size of a child's crib. At 6 feet tall I could not sleep physically on this mattress. Shared bathrooms were filthy dirty. Air conditioner produced hot air. Televsion was the size of my i pad,..Do not recommend to anyone above 5 feet tall.
"Good location -- economical, nothing fancy."

"Great value for the money"
We thought the value of hotel for the money was excellent. Fanta;stic location near lots of eateries and within walking distance to many things 5th Ave. Rockerfeller Center; Central Park; FAO Swartz etc. Would have given it 5 stars but heater did not work and was loud and advertised rooftop was not open. Also did not have a business center where one […] could print a boarding pass but staff was very friendly and hospitable. Read more
"EMERGENCY CRASH PAD"
I'd stay here again without hesitation
"small rooms but cozy"
i felt like i was in a dorm room. i think the room was as big as the bathroom that was in the hallway and our room included a bathroom inside. Its a great location though. i pretty much took a map and just walked everywhere.

"Great value"
Good place to sleep, though some other guests were noisy in the hallway around 4am... not the hotel's fault.
The walls seems like they were paper thin. I could hear everything going on in all the rooms at my end of the hall. The window A/C let in the street noise. Not a great place if sleep is your part of what you seek.

"Be wary before you book"
My first trip to NYC and what do I want to see more than anything? The view from a rooftop and a nice meal. I booked this hotel because of all the race reviews and the fact it was my first time to this city and it was my partners birthday. Ready for a romantic week, we check in get settled walk the neighborhood then come back, order some fresh sangria […] to take to the rooftop. We get our cocktails then ask how to get there and they informed us it was closed for construction. Yay worst sunset ever. I wish the hotel would have updated their website. Now I will have to wait till next time to see that view. Read more
Haven't bunked since I was a kid, but this is definitely posh compared to camps. Really chic and the bunks were comfy. Shared baths smelled like hair dye - weird - but literally that was the only remotely bad thing.
"This is a no-brainer for an inexpensive NYC visit"
Great room, very clean, common bathrooms were clean. We would have liked additional pillows and puffier pillows, but otherwise an excellent inexpensive place to stay in NYC. Lots of restaurants in the 'hood.
"European chic for St. Patrick's Day."
I loved my room. It didn't have a bathtub, but it did have a very cool shower. The room was a good size for me and my boyfriend. I loved the shades as opposed to dusty curtains and the windows actually opened.
"Perfect NYC Hotel"
For the first time in a long while I cannot find anything bad to say about a hotel stay !! Will def be back
"Exactly what they claim"
The hotel was exactly what it claims to be. Inexpensive, with small rooms, but comfortable, clean, and 'hip.' Great service and the downstairs lounge and coffee/wine/food bar round it out nicely. Easy access to subways and in a great part of town. Fun mix of guests - international and domestic, young and older - interesting people.

"Great Stay at the Pod Hotel"
We just recently stayed in the pod hotel in NYC. The rate could not be beat, and the room was clean and comfortable. There was 2 of us and we had the bunk bed room, and the mattress was comfortable and it was nice to have the TV right there. We never had a problem getting to a bathroom or shower. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, it […] was fantastic for the rate. Read more

"Pod Hotel - tiny but satisfactory"
My daughter and I stayed at the Pod Hotel in New York last weekend. We had a bunk bed room with a shared bath. The room was even smaller than I expected but we pretty much knew what we were getting into so no complaints there. There was only one chair so one of us had to sit on the bed if we were both sitting down. The room was very clean and we never […] had any hold up on getting into one of the shared bathrooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a beautiful waterfall/garden oasis across the street where we had lunch one day and that was really nice. The hotel is a few blocks from the 6 and the E subway lines so that was also convenient. Even though we have decided we wouldn't stay there again we would recommend it to anyone on a budget who has a sense of adventure! Read more
"The Pod NYC: Good location & modern accommodations"
Thanks to hotels.com, I was able to get a last minute reservation at The Pod. It is in a pretty good location. It's about half a block to subway lines and walking distance to famous landmarks (Rockefeller Center, Grand Central). There are also a variety of restaurants/eateries close by. There's a police station right up the street so you'll feel extra […] safe. The front desk employees can work on better customer service. They weren't very welcoming. He seemed to be in a rush helping me. Although, the maid service was extremely friendly and helpful. Pretty good price for exactly what I needed: a place to crash and freshen up. I didn't mind using the shared bathroom which was amazing; rainfall shower and shower heads installed on the sides. I stayed in a single pod. It's small; reminds me of hotel rooms in Japan. But if you really just need a place to sleep, the single pod will do the job for you. It was fairly clean. There was dust around the television. The walls need to be touched up or cleaned or something. There were a few stains on the wall. The sheets were wrinkly. These aren't extreme complaints but overall I enjoyed my stay and I would stay there again. Read more
Was good for what I needed. Check in and check out was painless. Bathroom was the size of the front seat on a Toyota . Doors were too thin I could hear everything from the flushing of neighboring toilets to voices from other rooms. Room service came knocking at 8 am after a night of bar hopping I wasn't happy. I might stay someplace downtown next t […] ime. Read more

"Great Location but Small Rooms"
Great location for exploring the city and nice Lobby with free wifi. Rooms were too small and lacked overall comfort. The sink area was in the middle of the room less than 2 feet from the bed and the bathroom did not have a full door. I stayed in the basic room so perhaps an upgraded room would have more space.
"Enjoyed the stay"
The room with a private bath was fine for a couple. A pleasing modern decor offest the smallest of the room. Bathroom was very compact but functional. The room was warm but the heater appeared to be on a timer and didn't come on immediately when adjusting the temperature. The lobby and mini cafe had a friendly feel. We would definitely stay here a […] gain. Read more
"Cozy & Comfortable"
A friend and I stayed in a twin bunk pod. It was clean and bright, and the hall bathrooms were very nice as well. The showers were clean and I enjoyed the ambience created by the music that was piped in. I'd stay there again. Nothing luxurious, but we don't need that sort of thing for a quick trip to the city.
"the pod, decent"
the hotel in general was clean. the idea of sharing bathroom facilities is a little odd, and not cleaned as often as i would like it to be. for a small place to stay for just the purpose of to put your head down at night the pod is decent. i had dorm rooms bigger than the single that i stayed in. location was easy access to the subway and within walking […] distance to midtown attractions. if traveling as a single a decent place to be, but not a romantic place to stay if traveling as a couple. "A PERFECT LITTLE ROOM int he HEART of NYC"
The Pod hotel was once the Pick Wick Hotel. It is still owned and run by the same family with the same care and professionalism. I was very pleased and have nothing negative to complain about. GREAT VALUE for the PRICE in an excellent, safe location. I will be back!
"Pod Hotel"
I really enjoyed my stay here. Although the rooms were small as others have noted, I was not at all inconvenienced by their size. It was just enough space for what I needed and the rooms were very comfortable, clean, and trendy. I'd definitely stay here again.

"Unique Find"
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and it was exactly what I was looking for. The price was excellent for the amount of space in the room. I had a room with a private bathroom and even though it was extremely small, I thought it was the perfect "pod" for me. I stayed in a room with a twin bed and the mattress was not as comfortable as I had hoped but given […] the price of the room, it was great. The layout of the room and concept that this hotel has is extremely unique and was all I needed for this trip to New York. I loved how small and compact the room was. For the right price, I would stay there again. If I were staying for a week, I might not want such a small room and would probably look elsewhere. I did find the walls to be a bit paper thin but it was quiet when I needed it to be. The location is great, the hotel atmosphere is great. It is not the upscale style hotel that I often look for but for this trip to NY, it was perfect. The hotel is exactly what it is advertised to be. Read more
"Nice Place"
This is a really nice place. Others have complained that the rooms are small, but this was not an issue for me at all. I thought it was small, but not ridiculously small. It was cozy and just the right amount of space for me. The bed was comfortable. I had no problems accessing the wireless internet. It was a little noisy at night, but not over-the-top, […] and it was a weekend. The location is great. It's super close to the subway and you can walk a lot of places, too. I had great service when I was there. Sharing a bathroom was not an inconvenience at all. The showers were great! The bathrooms were spotless and I never had to wait. The lights above the door is a really nice addition. All in all, I think this is a really nice place. It's convenient, reasonably priced, and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.
