The room was adequate for a brief visit. Unfortunately the walls between the rooms are very thin so it tended to be a bit noisy. Conversations were easily overheard. The "free breakfast" is sparse, consisting of mostly carbs,( an assortment of standard breads for toasting), small muffins and oatmeal packets. Coffee and juice is also available.

First, I was greeted at the front desk by a young lady who did nothing but complain about the management. After that, the only person I saw at the front desk was a guy in a t-shirt and baseball cap (for three days-different shirts though!). The room was painted kind of a light avocado with dark green carpet. Only one picture in the room and it happened to be over the bed, so when sitting in bed watching TV all you see is bare walls. The window opened, but there was no screen, so while the outside air temperature was pleasant enough to open the window I couldn't leave it open as some birds seemed to want to come in. In the bathroom the burgundy colored countertop didn't mix well with the avocado walls. In all the hotel is functional, just not much to look at. The location worked fine for me, it wasn't down in the heart of Newport, but I didn't want to pay those rates. One very good service they have is a third party shuttle service where for $8/day they'll take you downtown and back as many times as you wish. They were very prompt. I have mixed feelings as to whether I'd stay there again. Comfort wise it was fine, location/price good, just a bit worn.

Pretty gross decor, worn down facility. Only time housekeeping came to the room during a weeklong stay was early morning when the do not disturb sign was up. They store chairs and cleaning carts in the hallway which is a real eyesore. That's probably why they were the cheapest hotel with a vacancy.

If you are looking for a inexpensive place to stay by Newport this is a good spot. Great location just a few miles from the beaches, right by the vineyard and close to a grocery store, BJs and good restaurants. As for the room it's nothing special but has a fridge and comfortable beds which is all I needed after spending all day at the beach.

The hotel itself, although obviously older, seemed fairly well maintained. Room was clean and fairly spacious. King bed was very comfortable and allowed for a very good nights sleep. Hotel is 2.2 miles from Easton Beach, an easy drive or a walk for the more adventuresome. Fast food options within a block and all sorts of food within a mile. This was fortunate because my one complaint was the sparse breakfast provided at the hotel. Yes there are no elevators, but for light travelers, this was not an issue.

Hotel staffs were very pleasant. If they can provide what you ask for they will do it without a fuss . TV was ridiculously small. Had to ask for the refrigerator and microwave. Hotel is very noisy.If you light sleeper this is not the place for you.

The hotel was very dated but the room was really clean. Whenever we go to a hotel we always check the mattress to make sure there is no sign of bed bugs and there were none. The hotel was very clean for its age. The hotel staff were great. We were trying to find activities to do on a Sunday evening and the young man at the front desk was so helpful in telling us about the area and things going on. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. The only problem we had were that the room keys didn't work. We had to get them reprogrammed several times and they still wouldn't work. Other than that- it was very pleasing!

Great location, right near the beach and Not far from Fort Adams State Park or the cliff walk. The hotel itself was good. The staff was kind and welcoming. Only complaints were the free breakfast was limited (although it was free, at least) and our room had bed bugs... So be sure to check your hotel room ahead of time!

This hotel was way overpriced for the quality of the hotel. The decor hadn't been updated in probably 20 years, everything was really run down and dingy. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful, but the price was not worth it.

This hotel was in a descent location at good price, however, it is very old looking and in desperate need of updating. Not updated since the 80s! The room was clean, but no fridge or micro and mostly box TVs. I guess when the TV dies, they replace with a flat screen. There is no elevator, only stairs.

When we arrived to check in the hotel clerk as not very friendly. He never stood up to greet us. He checked us in sitting. Not very helpful. The room was just okay....nothing special about it. I did not go down for the breakfast the next morning but my son stated that all they had was bread items and a few kinds of cereal. He did bring me back some milk and it was warm. Not impressed with this hotel.

My friend and I wanted to visit downtown Newport, but found the price of hotels there to be very expensive. The price and amenities at the Ramada was a terrific option for us. The grocery store and liquor store right next door was also very convenient. We were delighted to discover Ramada offers a shuttle to downtown Newport, saving us the effort and price of parking downtown. The price for the shuttle was only $8 roundtrip! The breakfast was also well-stocked, with many options. I definitely recommend Ramada Middletown if you're looking to visit Newport sights.

The hotel staff was polite as soon as we entered the door. One thing that was a little odd is that they do not have an elevator, so if you are one who needs an elevator and choose this hotel I would recommend you ask for a first floor room. The rooms were nice and the beds were comfortable. Although, that night my family and I had a horrible sleep. The walls are very thin and you can hear everything going on in the rooms on both sides of you. On one side of me I had a baby crying all night and the other side was people chatting loudly. As you could've guessed, I didn't sleep very well. The breakfast was alright the next morning, there was toast, cereal, muffins, orange juice, and a few other things. If you're not looking for a fast breakfast, I would recommend going down the street to IHOP. Other than that, this hotel wasn't bad. If you're only looking to stay a night or two, this hotel should be just fine.

It is very disappointing to stay in this hotel, no elevator, had to move room due to no exhaust vent in the bathroom and the room we moved into was also the same and no more rooms available. The AC is loud, the pillow are old and get flattened as you lay your head unto it. Carpets in the hall way smells bad too.

There was a musty smell when we walked into the hotel. The musty smell was even stronger in our room. There was no elevator. The rug in our room was lifted up in many spots all over the room. The couch in our room looked like it had never been cleaned or dusted. We were really surprise about the conditions of the hotel for the rate we paid.

Clean and comfortabe room. Friendly staff with quick service. We loved the $8.00 shuttle the ran everyhour to the waterfront, it was very convenient. My only complaint would be that the fridge in our roim did not keep things cold. All in all a nice trip:)

We arrived at about 10:00 on a Friday evening and it was raining. We were tired and a little hungry. There was a very strong smell of fish when we first walked in - it was off putting. We were given a room on ground level about five doors down from the main lobby, The room was absolutely freezing and a little musty smelling. I think since they knew we were coming they could have put the heat on to make it more welcoming, The desk people certainly were not busy, they appeared to be playing a computer game when we arrived. There was no other sign of life. Think the staff could have put out some candles to mask the terrible odor - I will say when I said something they said they did not notice which makes me think it smells like that all the time. I was staying there becasue we have having a wedding in Newport next summer and I am trying out various affordable hotels to be able to suggest to young people coming. I am not sure how I feel about doing that, I will have someone else stay and see what they say before deciding.

No internet in the room. Staff claimed to work on the issue with no results. Very disappointed when I have to leave my room to the lobby using my lap top in an area close to the center of the building using the hotel hot spot. That was not very pleasant. The staff did not care.

I travel 2- 3 times per month for business. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels around the world over the past few years. This hotel was THE WORST I've ever stayed in. Horribly dated rooms, dirty carpets, moldy bathrooms, and unbelievably thin walls and ceilings. I was kept up all night by people walking around on the floor above my room. I also heard people talking in the room next to me throughout the night. Lastly, the entire hotel stunk of smoke from the restaurant grill located on the first floor. The entire experience was so bad, I ended up checking out after just one night. I will never stay here again, and would never recommend that anyone else stay here.

We couldn't sleep because our neighbors were up late and the walls are paper thin. Luckily, we were able to switch rooms and the second room was comfortable and perfect. The double beds are terrible but the king beds are fantastic. The service was great and they were understandable about us switching due to loud neighbors and a child trying to sleep.

The Ramada is conveniently located near the 60 Bus stop which goes all the way into Newport. It's also a 15 minute walk to Anthony's Seafood which was highly rated on Yelp - and turned out to have excellent clam chowder! The staff was quite friendly but very busy at the time we were there. The rooms are pretty spacious and clean, but nothing fancy. Just right for a couple of nights on a budget. The downsides: no elevator, so check in around noon so you catch the lower level rooms. The Portofino restaurant supposedly has really good food, but they seemed to be short staffed and could not deliver room service. Would love to try it the next time I stay there.

This is a no-frills hotel, but the price was good, and the proximity to our final destination was perfect. We did have to change rooms as the first one assigned to us had clearly been used by smokers and smelled like an old ashtray. the staff and hotel were great with the exception of one of the managers (blond female 40's) who was rude.
