The hotel Suizo was very clean and well maintained. The desk staff was friendly and helpful. But as others have noted, IT IS UNBELIEVABLY NOISY! At 3:00 one morning, we were awakened by noise that sounded like "they are pushing a refrigerator down the street end over end," as my husband said. The noise every night was absolutely incredible other than […] maybe between 4- 5 a.m and it was everything from people yelling to falling appliances. Also, there is no reason that paying guests should not get free wi-fi. There's a gelato shop half a block away that has free wi-fi. When you pay for a room, you should at least get as much. Also, the rooms are incredibly small as most european hotel rooms are, but there is a huge lounge on the second floor filled with couches and chairs that was locked and empty pretty much all day every day. It would be nice to be able to get out of our closet-size room and have somewhere else to sit down. Read more

THe location is excellent and I have stayed in a few different areas of the city. 2 stops away on the metro from the train to the airport, and the front door is right behind the steps to the metro station. The shower is strong, and the staff was helpful. The room was clean, but it did reek of deoderizer of some sort; chemicalish. This hotel is all about the location. The metro is right in front of the entrance and there are plenty of places to eat and sights to see within a few blocks. The downside is the noise at night due to the high foot traffic all throughout the night as well as the lack of amenities.

The reason why I would never stay here again is because the hotel staff are not friendly, in fact, some of them are downright rude. The manager of the hotel, Pepe, actually got into a verbal argument with my friend and started yelling at her when she asked about calling a cab. Granted, neither one of us spoke Catalon and her Spanish was limited, but […] she was trying to speak in Spanish and he did not understand her. After 5 minutes of her struggling to inquire about a cab, he started to yell at her and told her that he spoke English. Why he did not tell her he spoke English to begin with is unbeknownst to me. When she went to speak to the bellboy, who was next to him, he yelled at her and said "I am the manager, he is just the bell boy. Don't look at him. Look at me!" The majority of the staff members were unfriendly. I felt as if I was bothering them when I asked for directions or recommendations. In fact, every where we went in Spain, people were friendly and welcoming except for in our own hotel. The one positive thing about the hotel is the location. You are within walking distance to many great bars, restaurants, etc. The outside noise at the hotel is incredibly loud and kept us up at night. I was able to download a sleep machine app on my, which helped. All in all, I would not stay here. This is a well-maintained, older hotel in a fantastic location a few short blocks from the waterfront the Born area, the Gotic quarter and La Rambla. Hotel Suizo location is more than convenient, but the hotel doesn't seem too concerned about customer service. We stayed there for 4 nights, and the entire time the elevator was out of service leaving guests to either take the steps or the cramped service elevator. The wifi was also out the entire time, and the hotel didn't seem to be in a rush to fix […] it (it was not fixed during our stay). The rooms are small and without any adornment, but are relatively clean. Housekeeping does a good job. The quality of whoever is manning reception/check-in can be the difference between night and day...literally. The night-time receptionist is super cranky and has a terrible attitude. Amazing location if you are touring Barcelona without a car. The rooms are more than adequate, however if you demand silence to sleep look elsewhere, this is off a popular plaza with a lot of foot traffic. I would stay here again in a second. However, we received a bottle of Cava (Spanish champagne) and a fruit basket with no note so we called the […] front desk to find out why when we got in around midnight since it had no note. They said they had no idea check with the manager the next AM, so we did. The manager said it was because Spain won the Euro futbol championship (with confidence)....which we thought was really nice. This hotel was perfect for us. Great location, easy to get to all of the sights and restaurants we wanted to visit in our short stay (3 days), whether by foot or the metro, which was right in front of the hotel. As far as the noise factor goes, as others have stated, it is a little loud all thru out the day and night. However, it didn't bother us and […] we expected it. It was a part of the whole vibrant city experience. We weren't planning to lounge and be pampered in a quiet spa like atmosphere. We wanted to experience the city and not spend much time in a hotel. We choose this hotel as we greatly prefer vintage and historic hotels over glass and chrome ones. The hotel's location is a great! The Good: The hotel was in a very good location. Room was small but clean. Bed was comfortable. Some staff was nice others aloof. The Bad: Rooms in front are extremely noisy. Great choice for the sightseer. With the metro stop right outside the lobby, this hotel was minutes from everything. In the heart of the Gothic Quarter, two blocks from the Cathedral, a five minute walk to Las Ramblas, a ten minute walk to the waterfront. On Placa De L'Angel, with outdoor cafe seating...perfect for breakfast or a light snack. Service […] was efficient, if not overly gracious. The staff was helpful with directions. The room was spotless, if a little small by American standards, but had all amenities. Best of all was the balcony overlooking the pedestrianized street below. Noise not a major issue from adjoining rooms, but remember...you are in the heart of the city and a highly touristed area. Great little bakery on the ground floor for grab and go snacks, an organic grocer across the street. Don't miss the gelato at the cafe around the corner on Via Leitana. The Taverna Brisbe, on the Placa de Seu (Cathedral) was a reasonable, delicious choice for tapas or full dinner. Suizo is in the perfect location to explore Barcelona. Right in the beautiful gothic quarter, close to great restaurants and La Rambla. The transport links are excellent and the tour buses run from very close by and are well worth using. The hotel was clean and I had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the narrow streets below. Greit lite hotell med bra beliggenhet. Gangavstand til både Ramblas og strand. Rommet var helt greit, med et bad som godt kunne vært litt større. Det er en del støy fra gatene rundt, men det må man nesten forvente midt i Barcelona. Tror ikke Air Conditionen har kapasitet når det er 40 grader ute.

Perfekt läge med närhet till allt, men otäta fönster/altandörrar (1cm mellan dörr/vägg!!) bidrog till ett oväsen av helt orimliga proportioner. Ingen minbar, inga hygienartiklar trots att det framgick av hotellbeskrivningen. Hotellet borde inte vara klassat som 3-stjärnigt.

Fine og forholdsvist rene værelser. Servicen var ok. Hotellet ligger i det gotiske kvarter, bagved katedralen og lige overfor Born området, som nok er det suverænt bedste område i Barcelona, når man snakker shopping og restauranter.
