"Under construction - steer clear"
The lobby was a zoo, the controlled elevators a nightmare. Might be a fine hotel after construction is complete, but I wouldn't stay there again until them. Upside: rooms were clean and comfortable and nice views of the Hudson from upper floor rooms. I also hated staying anywhere near Times Square. Understand that might appeal to others, but not to […] me. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location horrible service and setting"
The lack of preparation for the checking and check out rush on a weekend was very disgraceful. They had two service counters with 4 computers each. They had two reps at each checking people in/out and one had a rep intermittently doing her job. They did not explain the elevator process and the guy watching the elevators did nothing but stand there watching […] everyone trying to figure it out for themselves, the proceeded to yell at people when they were getting mad that the stupid elevators doors wouldn't close and the system wouldn't reassign a different elevator. The ac didn't work so when I called to complain I was on hold and then disconnected every time. I understand a hotel having some flaws while under renovation, but this was ridiculous and the fact that they didn't mention it on their outsourced ads was extremely upsetting as I would t have booked this place had I known that in advance. Maybe in a year or so this place may be up to par. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Yes, the hotel is still under renovation, and the lobby at times seemed like a crowded bazaar in Marrakesh. Nevertheless, I had a clean, comfortable room where everything worked as it should. Always plenty of friendly staff on hand to show you the way. Would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"perfect location and clean room"
The best thing of this hotel is a good location, just near time square and it's convenient to go up and down streets. If you like waling, there are a lot of things to enjoy within walking distance. Even though it was crowded and we had to wait for a while to check in, I was satisfied with a clean room too!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Waiting five plus minutes for the elevators was disappointing. The lobby was aways overcrowded. The showers had no place to put soap or shampoo. Overall the staff gave you no direction to your room. Would not recommend your Hotel, or stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Milford Plaza- a work in progress"
The hotel is conveniently located and that made the stay in NYC more manageable. Check in was hectic with many vistors checking in at the same time with the lower lobby filled with luggage from the floor to a high height. The satff was always courteous and helpful. The efficiency of the new elevator system was frustrating at times and a number of the […] times the service elevator was the only viable alternative. The room was cozy, tastefully appointed and gave a glimpse of how the hotel would look shortly. The price was affordable and the inconveniences due to remodeling were minimal. "Uncomfortable renovation"
Very unpleasant experience. Badly designed and managed elevators. Long lines to get to an elevator. Spent over 15 minutes in an elevator line trying to get to my room the first night. Dirty door of the room inside. Construction works and no sound friendly advice or help to get to check-in area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Milford Plaza Hotel Our hotel is still under renovation. While our guest floors have been completed (and all rooms contain safes), our Lobby renovation was delayed due to a total re-design of the space so, while we had originally hoped to be finished by now, the renovation of our public space began September 1st for an expected completion in late 2013; however, Phase 1 of our lobby should be completed by mid-June. While all major construction has already been completed there can be intermittent drilling (during daytime hours only) and occasional tests of new mechanical systems, such as fire alarms, elevator systems, steam systems in accordance with NYC Department of Buildings requirements. If these will result in any guest disturbance, letters are given out at the Front Desk or placed in the guest rooms to advise all guests. We apologize for any inconvenience.
"Don't do it!!!!"
The hotel was a disaster.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I found it very tricky, The employee Hotel was not easy to receveid us communication and also not in the room had a fridge and no water to drink. For the price they could at least put water in the rooms.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Milford under construction"
The hotel is under construction and it looks more like a construction site than a hotel. The bathrooms door knob was broken, the shower curtain was not long enough and after every shower the floor was flooded, and the vanity was also broken. The problem was reported, but no one from maintance ever came to fix it!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel is under TOTAL reconstruction"
The hotel is under a total reconstruction, which Hotels.com and the confirmation from the hotel itself failed to mention. Placed a request for a wake up call and never received one - missed an important business breakfast meeting. The Manager credited me for the wake-up call error, but that is not what I depend upon a hotel staff for.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very disppointed. Bad hotel. Bad service. Made worse with significant ongoing construction. If this hotel was located anyone other than Times Square it would be out of business.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Broadway Theaters"
The hotel is under renovation but that didn't create a problem, as the staff was responsive and did a very good job of making one's stay as comfortable as possible. Our room was recently renovated and was clean and comfortable. We stayed overnight for a Broadway show and the hotel was only a block away from the theater. I would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Terrible; room was no larger than a shoe box. Elevators were stopped at midnight and stairs had to be utilized. Had to wait on maintenance to finish repairs to room before I could utilize room. Air conditioner did not work. Would not recommend to anyone. And to think I paid around 300.00 for this.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Location Location Location"
The hotel still requires some updating but is in progress. The check-in logistics are insufficient but the beds are very comfortable. Like most older New York hotels, there is a lack of shelf space in the bathrooms. The hotel is ideally located for both business and pleasure.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, still under construction"
Hotel is in a great loation in NYC, near Penn Station as well as major theatres and Times Square. The hotel has been under construction for the past several years and as a result, the lobby area and elevator services are not great. Also, this time around as I entered the room, it stank of urine. Their cleaning services definitely needs improvement. […] Overall, based on the location and rates that I got thru hotels.com, I'd stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
It is unfair to rate this hotel at this time. The entire hotel is being renovated and the only thing available is the actual rooms. Not sure when all the construction will be completed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"It is not really a full renovation"
The staff was awesome... The room was small as expected, but to have to sit sideways on the toilet was a bit ridiculous.New furniture and flooring, but the same chipped and peeling paint on the woodwork and radiator covers...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Milford"
The room had been remodeled and was very nice. Definitely stay there again. They are remodeling the whole hotel and apparently have for 2-3 years now. The lobby area was a war zone but the room was beyond expectations. Very pleased. Small but clean and functional. HD TV and lots of electric outlets. Modern looking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

long waits for elevator, confusing elevators and floor access. Lacking in amenities. OK cleanlinessGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect Theater & Times Square Location"
The location to Times Square is perfect. Buses, subways, tour buses, etc. are all right there. Basically, the connection to anything you want to see and do is close. Most importantly the Broadway Theaters are next door! The room was clean and small (I wasn't there to stay in my room). Internet service is not free (should be). Price is best for the location!! […] Be aware they are in the middle of renovations meaning you'll need to be very patient with check-in and elevator use (the staff was very helpful and accommodating - having us move to the service elevator to reduce congestion when needed). This is a HOTEL for the tourist who isn't planning on staying in the room much. I'd stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"DO NOT BOOK HERE. TRUST ME."
This hotel is under total renovation. Construction happening at this moment. The lobby is a zoo that looks like the office of a construction site. As in a trailer. They are grossly understaffed at the desk, and my impression is that it's on purpose to rake as much cash in as possible while under renovation. There is no room service, no rooftop bar (as […] advertised, since it's under construction), horrible elevators (and not enough for the thousands of people they have staying there each day, no kidding)...sound leaks from the hallways under the door, so you get woken by people having 4am chats on the phone in the hallway. It's a nightmare. Parking costs $53/night. Ridiculous. Can't emphasize enough, that this was the worst hospitality experience of my life. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small Room with Nice View"
Hotel was in a great location. It's under construction so the elevator takes a long time on the street level since you have to enter through the temporary lobby. The room was bright, very small but with a nice view. Bedding request for hypo-allergenic pillows and blanket were not an issue. Took a couple of hours for maintenance to show up for the air-conditioner. […] Staff was nice and they even allowed me to check-in early for my meeting. Would stay here again. "much better if the construction is finished"
not to bad of location, our room had smell like #1...not sure if they were a leak but really think the shower curtain because when it wet it had more bad smell....mentioned to front desk to change shower curtain but they didn't so the smell still there.....Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not perfect, but it won't let you down."
Simply put: The Milford is not perfect by any means. However, having stayed at numerous hotels in the same price range in Manhattan, I'd say the Milford is probably one of the best in it's class. Simple little things, like the mattress is more comfortable than others, it's super clean, the staff is friendly, and the location is great. In comparison […] to all the other hotels in this price range, I think the Milford has just enough to edge them out - and again, it's the little things. The shower is larger, the mattress softer, the room a little larger, the location is right in times square, etc. I'll be staying here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Response by Milford Plaza Hotel It's clear by your rating that you were disappointed with your recent stay at The Milford and regret that we do not have the specific issues so that we may reply to you. We realize that, until our ongoing $160 million renovation is completed, effecting these changes is sometimes unavoidably at the expense of guest comfort and satisfaction as we work to bring The Milford back to the iconic status it once enjoyed and apologize for any dissatisfaction you were caused as a result.

"Destination NY"
This was a pretty well located hotel. I was on a business trip for a few days in New York, and the location was perfect. It is close to impossible to find a room with 2 beds in a room that is affordable in the Midtown, Times Square area, so I leaped for joy when I found this one because I had been up the night before searching online. The rooms are […] pretty small, but it is to be expected. Although in the middle of busy the busy Broadway area, it is amazing how quite inside the hotel is(pass the lobby area). The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. I have already recommended this hotel to friends, and will be staying here again when I visit the BIG APPLE. "Poor management during construction"
No parking or check in instructions. Long check in wait. No fridge on room. Small. Nice beds though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Milford Plaza Hotel Our valet parking information is clearly listed on our website and we have posted ample directional signage in both the Upper and Lower lobbies while we enter the final stages of our Lobby renovation. In addition, bell, door, security and guest relations staff are assisting in directing our guests and answering any questions they may have and regret if you were somehow not aware of this. While refrigerators are not standard in our rooms due to room size considerations, we do have a supply on hand that are available upon request.
"great location, very small rooms,"
The location is fantastic. No one mentioned that the entire lobby area was under construction. There was no where to meet anyone within the hotel. The rooms are extremely clean, however, extremely small. The bathroom is tiny and very little room to move between the beds in the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Milford Plaza Hotel We’re sorry you were not aware of our $160 million renovation which began in 2011. Our website does contain a link on the home page for information about the renovation. While our guest rooms were completed a year ago, our public space was postponed due to a re-design and began on September 1st for an expected completion in mid-2013.
"Access problems and incoviences"
I will never stay there again after the treatment I revieved as a guest and visitor. I stood in the lobby and witnessed the annoying security protocol as each guest was asked to produce there hotel key and proof of identity. One guest even verbally announced how violated he felt having to be interogated time and time again each time he arrived back […] at the hotel. I asked the night manager Anthony why this security measure was in place and he could only say that it was to combat unwanted activity in the hotel. I wonder what kind of activity he is refering to ? I was willing to produce id so that I could go up but they said that someone would have to come down from the room with a key card in order for me to gain access again. The only attractive feature of this hotel is the price .... The Hotel front desk is not even up front you have to go thru security first to get that also. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Milford Plaza Hotel Due to our location in the heart of Times Square with its huge crowds, a key check is required after 11:00 PM to ensure that only registered guests of the hotel gain access to the guest room floors. This is a safety and security measure common to many large hotels in densely populated areas and we apologize if this was not explained to you to your satisfaction.
It's all about the view and the upkeep of the hotel for me. This hotel is undergoing renovation so the main entrance looks awful. The service especially the check in was far too slow. The view was of a building across the street. The price wasn't bad but there wasn't much in the surrounding neighborhood. Probably should've stayed outside of manahattan […] for a better price and just taken the train into manhattan. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Milford Plaza Hotel This is the first time I have ever heard that there is "nothing much in the surrounding neighborhood" considering we are literally next door to Broadway theaters and steps away from Restaurant Row and the excitement that is Times Square. We do apologize that our temporary lobby which is one third of the size of our regular lobby resulted in a long check-in time. our new space will have additional elevators and agent desks to help streamline the process.
"Not bad, great location"
A block from Times Square, older building seems to be newly remodeled. Great service from the staff. Rooms are small but clean. The only really bad thing was the elevator system. Very small and you often had to wait a while to get room on one.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
