This hotel is one of the best. The standards are so high- we felt bad that we didn't lift a finger for the entire time we were there! Lying on the beach they follow you over with everything you could need, deliver complimentary ice-cream and sorbet to you and regular fresh water. The quality of the food is outstanding- and breakfast is delicious! I am certain all the breads etc are baked on site. The wildlife is fascinating: this was our first time to the rainforest and we loved seeing the different monkeys on our balcony and on the beach. We saw butterflies and had to work our way around a monitor lizard on the way to the beach! Overall, our stay was outstanding. We visited in December which everyone warned was the rainy season but, apart from some rain on our arrival, it was beautiful sunshine and 30 degrees. WOW what a place, everyone should experience it at least once, this rain forrest on the beach is absolutely beautiful and the staff were AMAZING.The Datai is a little out of town. We Hired a car for the week from the airport, there is very little traffic and this allowed us to see the island as we have never been there before. We stopped by The Datai on the way back from a few weeks in Europe. This was the perfect change of pace. Lovely resort, great facilities (bars, pools, food, etc), incredible location. The staff are extremely attentive and nothing is too much trouble. We didn't explore too much beyond the resort but then again we didn't really feel the need to. The Datai is located around 30-40 minutes drive from Langkawi airport and is quite remote compared to many other resorts (so some may feel isolated). We thought the remote location was beautiful - tucked away in the jungle but where the jungle and sea/beach meet. The villas are gorgeous and incredibly well-planned, complete with details such as candles, fruit basket, insect spray and power adaptors). Breakfast is also a highlight, as are the staff who are solely focused on making your stay a pleasant experience (like bringing cold peppermint towels and iced water to guests who are lounging by the pool). Stayed in rainforest villa - beautiful location. You felt like an honoured guest amongst the trees & wildlife. Great room, fabulous bathroom. Staff were very good but as it was low season, they bordered on over-attentive - you felt like they were watching every mouthful you took & every sip of your drink!! Negatives - the rooms were very dark, this needs attention as most of the lights were on dimmers, but not bright enough or not enough of them. Hard to see for make-up or shaving. Very expensive - you are a captive audience as The Datai is at least 20 mins away from anything else, so you pay for that!! Internet is complimentary-they advertise it as wireless but they could only offer me wired & TERRIBLY slow. Overall - highly recommended if you want a quiet, secluded & very luxurious holiday. 『ザ・ダタイ』に泊まりました。閑静なリゾートという雰囲気でした。街からは遠く何もない所なので、食事も全てホテルのレストランで取ることになります。ビーチもいい雰囲気でした。ホテルの周辺には、たくさんの猿がいて、ジャングルのような感じです。ゴルフ場が整備中の為に、1年以上休業されていてゴルフが出来なかったのが残念でした。ランカウイ島一番のゴルフ場とのことだったのですが、プレイしてみたかったです。夕食はタイ料理を頂きましたが、とても美味しかったです。辛さもちょうどいい感じでした。同じころに宿泊されていた日本人のご夫婦ともお話ししましたが、辛さを辛くしないで・・とリクエストしたところ、物足りなかったそうです。日本人スタッフの方もおられて、ホテルの中は快適に過ごせました。ただ、わたしたち夫婦は街中のホ […] テルや、街中のレストランに食べに出掛けたり、マッサージやスパに出掛けるのも大好きなので、ここだけの滞在だと少し退屈するかな？という印象もありました。街中半分、リゾート半分なら、大正解です。大人のカップルにお薦めしたいホテルです。 Read more

夜に着いた事もあり、辺りが暗い為、ロビーに着いた時も部屋に入った時も、ヨーロッパの綺麗なホテルのように、わーキレ～と思うような感動はなかったのですが、翌朝、改めて眺めると、周囲の環境、ロビーに色鮮やかに咲く水連の花、翼を大きく広げて飛ぶ鳥など、感動が一気に押し寄せてきました。 フォーシーズンホテルにも、お茶しに行きましたが、ダタイの作りは独創的で本当に独特だと思います。自然派リゾートならなら絶対こちらです。 9月初めに行きましたが、明け方は毎朝雨が降ってましたが、起きる頃には止んでいて、活動に支障はなかったです。 ちなみにヴィラに泊まりました。 　サル、リス、カニ、大きなトカゲ、ヤモリ、など、生物好きな私にとって、そんな動物達を間近に観察しながらお茶をのんだりくつろいだりする時間もとても楽 […] しかったです。 プライベートビーチも遠浅で、ビーチでのんびりも快適でした。レストランも美味しかった。今、ビーチのレストランやヴィラを新設していますし、ぜひまたいつか行きたいと思いました。 スタッフの方々のサービスも抜群です。 ただ、森の中にある環境の中なのに、部屋の中は虫一匹もいなくて綺麗なのですが、深夜にトイレにいった時に、バスルーム等がある部屋に大きなゴキブリが出たのはショックでした・・・・・あとは大満足です。 お勧めはビーチのレストランのﾅｼｺﾞﾚﾝ、スムージー、プールが見渡せるラウンジのアフタヌーンティーセットです。 Read more
