"Great hotel close to the downtown"
This hotel is near downtown. If you have a car, you can park own this hotel's parkinglot then you will be able to walk to downtown. It took time only 15minutes.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Walls are paper thin!!"
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights for our anniversary. We did some research online and figured this hotel would be a reasonable place to stay, given that we didn't know the area of Victoria very well. 1. The lobby smelled like fried food. 2. The front desk associate was eating food while watching TV on the computer. 3. The […] beds are hard (but pillows are soft) 3. Our "neighbors" were up all night laughing and leaving/returning to their room until 4am! Door would bang shut each time. And because the walls are paper thin, you could hear everything in their room. 4. When we complained to the front desk, they said they received several complaints and did not extend their stay. But they never addressed it immediately with our "neighbors" when we called during the night nor offered us anything. 5. Good thing? This hotel is fairly close to downtown Victoria. Good thing we were out exploring the city and didn't spend much time at the hotel anyway. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Low price yet high value"
I was looking for a hotel that is no more than $100, decent and in a good location and when I saw this listing I thought it's a great match for I was looking for. The picture of the room with a king size bed looked nice and turned out it was exactly the same as the nice picture so with my expectation. The location is great, too. It's not by the harbour […] and in an ok neighbourhood but DT & harbour are in the walking distance so it was very convenient. The room seemed to be recently renovated, spacious and despite of being close to the busy road, it was quiet. I'd recommend this hotel for anyone who's looking for a budget & convenient stay. "Great value, nice experience"
Booked the hotel for a recent weekend in Victoria. Very friendly staff, and a great room. It's about 10 blocks away from the core tourist areas in the city, but that's an easy bus ride away. It's a walkable 3 blocks from an up and coming area down by the waterfront that is seeing a lot of new restaurants and bars pop up. The hotel itself is in a more […] residential/office part of town with a lot of locals going about their lives nearby. Other recommendations: Get a daily bus pass at any convenience store and use that to get around town. The bus system is fantastic, and no rental car is needed. Also, visit Point Ellice house for high tea (a gem off the beaten trail), and take a kayak trip with Kelp Reef. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Within walking distance to downtown"
This is our second time staying at this locatiion, we actually stayed in the same room both times. The rooms are small, but comfortable. They are in middle of renovations; so it was noisy in the morning. The room we were in was mostly renovated ( they left the old 60s mustard colored tub in), but other than that, for small rooms they are nice and appropriate […] for what you pay for. We did have a power surge in our room, which front desk took care of it immediately. The pool is small, but functional. Only thing I would complain was that the nearest convenience store was a few blocks away. We would stay at this location again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"comfy bed, quiet stay"
When we got there, the central air was not working well in our room. The desk clerk changed us immediately to a room with an air conditioner. The kingsize bed & pillows were very comfortable. The hotel is being painted, so there were scraped areas, which did not bother me. It was clean, quiet &comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Old must be renovated"
The worst hotel during my 18 days vacation. Even is not new hotel, could be clean. For the price we paid we expect more.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was very convenient to stay and staffs were also nice and kind. If I visit Victoria again, I will stay in this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"noisy but nice"
The room was nice, the bed was comfy but the room was just outside where the bar patrons came out for smokes during the night and they were loud.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Don't stay at this hotel if you plan on having drinks with your friends(4 people). Even mild mannered talking amongst adults with their door closed gets you escorted back to your room by the dorm monitor. Oh yeah, don't be late on check-out (even 17 minutes) or you'll be scolded.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Came for John Fogerty! Stayed two nights! Room service was Excellent, Fast and Delicious! Convenient to Save on Foods Memorial Centre 3min. walk!Price for two rooms was the price of a room down the street for one night! Clean and quiet! Sorry about the noise after concert! It was friends from the North!:-)Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location, great room"
I recently stayed at the Capital City Centre Hotel and was very pleased with my room. I had a kitchenette unit which was perfect for keeping a few snacks on hand. The beds were comfortable, the location to downtown was ideal. I will stay at this hotel again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The coffee machine had not been cleaned. You are responsible for doing your own dishes, the cleaners will not do them. Parking is across the street in a large vacant lot. Elevator is very very small. room did the trick for what we needed. No treats for the dog.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Dont look too closely"
The hotel itself looks very old and outdated. The bathroom had an ancient dirt coloured tub in it, and the walls were straight out of the 60's. The furniture looked nice at first glance, but on closer inspection the chair had a huge rip in it and the table was covered in permanent stains. The bed looked amazing, but the mattress was solid as a rock. […] On top of that, the water pipes for the hotel ran straight through the walls behind our heads so we woke up everytime someone had a shower or turned on a tap to screeching pipes. The room had a sliding glass door that opened on to a deck- that EVERYONE else had access too! I had people walking by and looking in all afternoon and had to shut the curtains and sit in darkness with the light on in the middle of the day just for some privacy. The parking lot looked very outdated as well with pot holes and cracked pavement and an ancient fence. I would return if only for locational convenience. And I may sleep on the floor instead, it might be comfier. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"ShelterBox at Rotary Zone Institute Meeting"
The Hotel is located conveniently as the name suggests in the centre of Victoria. The room was well appointed and comfortable. The service in the cafe was friendly. Each room has it own wifi password, has the latest coffee machine, a good size flat screen TV and iron and ironing board. This was good value for money.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean, updated, budget friendly hotel"
Very reasonable and renovated hotel in Victoria. Clean with modern furnishings. Would recommend for people looking for a decent spot close to the city centre who are on a budget and don't mind fewer frills. Only had a couple of annoyances 1) The fridge made an unbearable high-pitched buzzing noise and we had to unplug it 2) A hotel staff member entered […] our room without notice or prompt quite abruptly about an hour after checking in. He asked us if we had checked in (it was very, very strange). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
It was alright. room was quite clean and all staff was so kind. there was $200 for the damage deposit.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Our room was lovely and quiet on Friday evening, but noisy people in the hallways Saturday. Bed was very firm with no cushioning so not that comfy. Phone not working in our room. Mentioned it to management, but no change. Wouldn't book there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Room was well appointed. The air conditioning did not work and the room was to hot leaving a window open to loud traffic. Someone was smoking below and had the smoke wafting into my room. Great having a fridge micro wave and nice coffee maker. Bathtub was pink, should be updated.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Excellent location, good service plus decent breakfast restaurant and lounge.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is very dated and in need of an upgrade, but considering the price, it was good value for the money. The staff could have been more professional and helpful; I had to request a new blow dryer twice because mine was broken in the room, but never did receive a new one. The surrounding area is a little sketchy but very close to the center of […] town. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Short walk to the Inner Harbour"
Was very impressed with this hotel. Yes the outside has you questioning your decision - the building does look outdated. However, inside is another story. The front desk area was tidy. The room itself was updated; well worth the value. Location is great as well - about a 15 minute walk to the Visitor Center; 10 minute walk to downtown and a variety […] of restaurants. "Comfortable and good location"
The room is renovated, really comfortable and pleasant. It's located in the main street, just some blocks far from the touristic attractions and near the rental car. Staff was genteel and accessible to any doubts. The only problem was no breakfast included.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was pleasantly surprised how nice the hotel was for the cheap rate I got. The hotel was clean, staff friendly, my room was updated, I had a very comfortable bed, it was quiet, so I got a good night sleep. Overall a great place to stay, walking distance to Mayfair mall and the bay downtown.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"new coffee makers"
We were there the day they brought in the new coffee makers. So much better than the old drip ones. Much better quality of coffee. This was my second stay and I will probably stay again if I'm in Victoria.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Capital City Center Hotel"
Everything was fine in this hotel during my vacation trip to VictoriaGenuine Expedia guest review
Given the price that we paid for this hotel, we were not expecting much to be honest. However, we were pleasantly surprised. Okay, so it is a bit old fashioned in parts, but it was bright and clean and they have obviously done some renovations recently. The bar area was perfect for a quick bit to eat and a drink, and the terrace is also great in the […] warm weather. The pool area is also a great addition to the hotel, and they have definitely made the most of the area given its location (on a main road). We had breakfast in Kitty's café and it was great; nothing fancy but very reasonable and the server was very friendly. The reception staff were also very helpful. The beds in the rooms were very comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. It is a short walk from the inner harbour. It is not in the best location- everything around it seems to be run/closed down- but we didn't feel unsafe at all. They had free parking and they even let us keep our car in the car park after we had checked out as we wanted to spend the day exploring before going home. A great little place if you're on a budget! "Was convenient for my needs for one night"
The advertisement on the internet said that an Airport shuttle could be arranged. I specifically booked this hotel because I needed a ride to the airport the following morning. When I phoned the shuttle service they said they did not pick up at that Hotel. Luckily for me they made an exception. If there truly is not a shuttle service then the Hotel […] needs to update their advertising and also be sure their front desk personnel know of the change. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Ten minute walk to harbour."
Parking was okay but unsecured. The staff were friendly. The bed was comfortable but the bathtub had hairs in it and on the walls which makes everything suspect. Also the bathroom had no window and the fan did not work. All things that should have been addressed for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice Hotel in Good Location"
Staying for one evening in the Victoria area to enjoy and evening out. Rooms have been nicely updated, free parking across the road and the location made this a good choice. It does not appear to have a/c but for our stay this was not an issue.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Beautiful rooms close to everything!!!!"
The hotel staff were very kind and considerate. Hotel room was tastefully decorated and very clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Too be honest, I wasn't expecting much. We were staying at another hotel close to the harbor and decided to stay another day. However, the hotel was full so we had to make a reservation elsewhere. We went online and found Capitol City Center for a very reasonable rate. It is about a 15 minute walk from the harbor on a busy street and, from the outside, […] doesn't look like much. However, the rooms have been remodeled and are very nice. In fact, our room was very comparable to the more expensive hotel that we had been staying at. They also have a very nice swimming pool and outdoor dining area. In addition, the staff was very friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Victoria. "good central location however a bit noisy"
We were pleased with the level of cleanliness and friendly and helpful staff. We stayed for 4 nights which was problematic because there was no closet in the room. With the extra chair and the table and chairs and fridge I can see they have little space for a closet. If one were installed it should have an open bottom area to roll in your suitcases. […] Staying for four nights, it would have been nice to be able to hang our clothes. I mentioned the lack of closet to a cleaning staff on our last afternoon and a rolling clothes rack appeared in our room on the last evening however at that point we were packing up and it was just in the way, taking up precious floor space. The aircon is central air which means you have no control. They told me if I wanted it higher they could vacumn the vents for me! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Decent hotel for the price"
They have tried updating the older building and for the price/location and time of year it was a fair price, just at the edge of downtown you can walk everywhere if you enjoy walking. Free parkingGenuine Expedia guest review
Upon first pulling up, I was a bit concerned with the look of the place. It is an older building. The old motel-style lobby also made me concerned. However, once inside the room, I was relieved. It was as nicely appointed as hotels twice the cost, and completely clean and comfortable. At night, it was completely quiet. Parking is free, and location […] is a short walk from downtown.
