we chose this hotel as we were told by the hotel it would only cost £15 each way to get a taxi organised by them to the airport, it actually cost £22. so not impressed. room a bit tired looking - the tiles grubby etc in the bathroom. breaksast was nice.

The room was very comfy, nice and clean, over looking the lawns. But on the inside it was opposite the cleaning cupboard (s)!!. The staff dont tell you where any thing is. so its hunt round and try to find your way round, they dont tell you when the dinning room is open. The resturant food was "very" limeted, with jsut one menu! not to all the diners taste. (mine) included.. And very over priced. room sever was a better menu. and much better on the pocket, but it was to late for that as it was hidden the a draw. out of 10 I'd give 7

I was very disapointed with my stay at the redwood hotel. Stayed there a lot last year on business and the hotel has dramatically gone down hill since then. It took nearly three quarters of on hour to book in and then we had to go through the same to check out. The lack of fluent english speaking staff in the restaurant made dining a very stressfull experience. i will not be returning to the redwood.

Good place to stay, large grounds. No breakfast included & expensive to buy at £15! Room very nice, bathroom poor but understand they are to be redecorated.

Our first room had a very bad smell - just 2 minutes inside and I had a headache. It was quite small too. I went to reception and they found another room for us. This was larger and on the second floor overlooking pond and was quieter and much nicer than the original one (ex taking account of smell). Service was funtional but not particularly professional. The doors in the passage are not on slow release and bang a lot. Plenty of tea and coffee and couple of biscuits which was nice. Average hotel rather than exclusive country club - but in nice location.

Decor was a bit outdated but overall comfortable and rooms have nice clean bathrooms. Although...do not consider staying at this hotel unless you have a car or are prepared to pay for taxis everyday...it's in the middle of nowhere! Really scary drive back at night as there's no streetlamps as soon as you hit the countrylanes!

This place was a total farce. I specifically need hotels with internet connections for remote working, and when I arrived I found out the WiFi was not working. The technical guy didn't really know anything, so he suggested I get my room moved where they have a cable connection. So that's what happened. And the cable connection didn't work either. So I tried to phone our company's IT team - and the phone wasn't working. And There was no mobile phone signal either. Laughing yet? Well, it gets worse. The Manager moved me a second time, this time to a room "where the telephone will work". It did, but the internet didn't. A lad from reception said he'd call the engineers, and it took 2 hours to get a response. They provided him with loads of numbers (yippee), but I was then told that it must be my company's fault for putting administrative blocks on the connection (this has never happened before all across the UK and Ireland where I have been able to connect every time). In the end I had enough and got moved to the FANTASTIC Cadbury House Hotel a few miles away, which absolutely knocks the spots of Redwood, which is tired and soulless (I recommend Cadbury House it to anyone - wonderful hotel and facilities - in fact, I'm staying there again in May).

The hotel was fine although the price of wine must have been plucked from the air as it was grossly overpriced. Our problem was the time of year for our visit ie Christmas, there was a company christmas party many of which were staying in the hotel, it started about 10 ish and people screaming, shouting, running down the corridors of the residential area obviously slightly the worse for alcohol, however a phone call to reception about 11 ish seemed to remedy the situation and other than a little noise in the early hours of people returning to there rooms things settled down. It may sound a little petty but after a long drive to get there and a long drive in the morning a quiet evening would have been appreciated. The meal ordered via room service left a little to be desired but this was sorted at reception in the morning. After saying all this the staff were excellent and have nothing but praise for them.

I have stayed at this hotel before, but this was a late arrival/early departure so no time to experience more than the room - which was ok. Its a good location for visiting the city without the parking/noise issues of actually being there.
