"Great Customer Service, Great Room, Great Location"
We were on our honeymoon and traveled California from San Diego up north and ended up in Reno. We stayed here during our San Francisco stay. This place was amazing! Rooms clean, had nice urban feel to it, but most importantly, the concierge and front desk were top notch. They were very accommodating and made sure our stay was everything and anything […] we expected. If we go to San Francisco again, we will stay here. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We absolutely loved being in the heart of it all. Just a block away from the historic San Francisco trolly system, a block from great shopping and parks and walking distance to Chinatown, Lombard Street and even Fisherman's Wharf! We walked to Ghiradelli Square and weren't bothered by it, but it was a bit of a walk, so if you're not conditioned for […] steep hills that the City is famous for, you'll want to use the trolly, but like I said, it stops one block from this hotel. Ambiance in the hotel reminded us so much of Europe and we fell in love with it instantly. This nostalgic hotel was probably the neatest hotel we've stayed in in the US and featured a great bar by night and brunch spot by morning. I would recommend the Mystic hotel to anyone hoping for a unique experience and would definitely stay there again on my next trip to the City! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Vera at the front desk rocks!"
A lovely little boutique hotel made all the better by Vera at the Front Desk. While surrounded by obnoxious people who were doing their best to distract her, she remained focused on checking me in and was the picture of professionalism. Each of my interactions with her exemplified the same warmth and she made my stay there worth considering going back! […] The hotel is lovely, vintage cute! The bar had great music and cocktails, though the bar menu was not very good, all fried. They need a much nicer bar menu to match the bar & hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Loved the property, staff, restaurant and setting - highly recommend. Included breakfast was great and we returned and had drinks and dinner at the very popular and chic restaurant. Room was small but comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
hotel staff are incredibly helpfulGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We checked in on a Friday & the blind in our room - over the main window overlooking the street - was broken. No way to open it which kept the room dark & with a closed in feeling. Maintenance was "off for the weekend" - so it was our reality all weekend. Also, constant bass beat from band made it hard to sleep till after midnight.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel and room have the San Fransisco esqe feel, however very expensive for what you get.. Bathroom was very small..Great service and great bar on second floor! Bartenders very knowledgable!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent place to stay for a conference"
The Mystic Hotel was a perfect place to stay while I was in San Francisco to attend a conference. The hotel was about 10 minutes walk from the Hilton Union Square (the conference venue) and the room was far more affordable than a room in the Hilton. The staff were helpful, efficient, and friendly - at my request, they assigned me to a QUIET room at […] the back of the hotel - and the room was clean and comfortable. I loved the complimentary breakfast, as well. I look forward to staying at the Mystic Hotel when I next visit San Francisco! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great boutique hotel"
Not on the radar as a typical touristy hotel si is what we wanted. Has a great vintage vibe, the room was small but perfect for two people, very comfortable bed, best complimentary breakfast we've ever had at a hotel (fresh fruit, lots of warm pastries, hard boiled eggs, bagels, Starbucks coffee, very European free breakfast- much better than cold cereal […] and pre-packaged muffins like some places). The hotel staff was very friendly with directions and recommendations. Close walking distance to Chinatown, all the public transit stops, and some great restaurants. Well worth it! We would certainly stay at Mystic Hotel again...room was very comfortable and clean. It has an old charm with modern amenities. Don't bring too much luggage; otherwise, you will have to squeeze into the single elevator on your own!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great SF find!"
Loved the hotel. Great location, easy parking across street, beautiful room. Bar area funky eclectic . We teallly enjoyed the breakfast' A nice mix of modern updates in an old building and lots of thoughtful amenities in the room. The elevator is tiny and slow: think European and enjoy its coziness! Would definitely recommend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great stay at the Mystic"
Great location, friendly & helpful staff, well kept hotel. Room was warm and ceiling fans didn't do a whole lot to circulate the air. Other than that, it was fantastic.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Charming, Friendly Hotel in a Great Location"
The Mystic Hotel is a great alternative to the large, corporate hotels in the area. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. When I informed them that my friend was coming instead of my husband, they upgraded me to a larger room. The front desk helped me catch the right bus/train to Sacramento and find a place for breakfast that was open early. […] They are a short walk from Union Square but not right in the middle of the tourist bustle. I appreciated that breakfast was included. The room was beautiful, and I loved that there were interior stairs to walk to it. I couldn't take advantage of the restaurant coupon, but it was a nice touch as well. I chose this hotel because of the good price and location, but I will come back for the great service! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Hostess was amazing. Saved our weekend. Great knowledge of local entertainment. Got us last minute reservations for dinner and a show. Highly recommend this hotel. Great location off Union Square. Close to everything, felt save on the street late at night. Hotel restaurant was very good and the breakfast good. Parking around the corner.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Overall we were very happy with our stay. The staff was very accommodating and the breakfast in the hotel was wonderful. The noise from the street level was awful though (we had a 4th floor room) and the elevator was super slow.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location, great room--so what the elevator is slow it is a historic property! The rom was super cute, breakfast was nice and the location was perfection!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Weekend in San Francisco"
The Mystic Hotel was a lovely little hotel across the street from the bus stop, and only one block from Union Square. The hotel gave my daughter and me such a warm welcome, and upgraded us to a top floor room (without us asking). I was extremely pleased with the hotel room, accommodations, staff. The restaurant/bar was very good, but not much of a night […] life after happy hour. I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to SF. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice hotel in the heart of the city shopping center, within 1 mile of all major attractions. Walked to the giants game and all the surrounding establishments. Took a cab to fishermans warf for 10 dollars. Well worth the price compared to the rest of the location hotels.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Our first encounter with the girls at the desk turned into a fiasco somehow. We felt very uncomfortable and wished we were not staying there. That negative experience overshadowed the rest of the experience we may have enjoyed there. We were out enjoying the city and only slept there and did not partake of anything else. Its not our kind of place. We […] felt uncomfortable that they pre-charged $150 on our credit card for "Artisan" drinks and snacks that we did not want. We hope that they will refund it back as they said they would. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Easy access for baseball game"
We booked the Mystic so we could stay overnight after going to the Giant's game for my husband's birthday. Overall I would give the hotel a solid 3. Except for the old and painstakingly slow elevator this hotel is fine for what we wanted - reasonably priced, clean, and easy access. Yes, the rooms are tiny and noise from the street is loud but that's […] what you get at a boutique hotel in Union Square! The parking garage across the street was a + and we had no issues finding a Taxi or Uber with no more than a 3 minute wait. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place. Great Staff."
Front desk staff are the BEST!! They are friendly, fun, and very helpful - especially Stacy. Love this hotel for fun or business. Great location too.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fashionable and Friendly Hotel"
Designer decor but small rooms. Very little place for toiletries in the bathrooms. Comfortable beds.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"a nice option"
the hotel was pleasant. I did like the breakfast service very much. Did not have a chance to eat dinner there but the bar looked fun and if the breakfast was that good, I imagine the other food offerings would be better than many hotel fare. The location was really convenient. If you are really from out of town (out of the US), the American shopping […] brands are all there within walking distance. "front desk girls were AWESOME"
the staff was amazing ...the free breakfast everyday was awesome ...I love the sounds of the city so the noise didn't bother me....like most boutique hotels in the city, the rooms look bigger on the web site than they are...other than that, I loved my stayGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hip Boutique Hotel in Heart of San Fran"
The Mystic Hotel stems from a time when hotels were each unique in their own way, before cookie cutter rooms and average service became the norm. My wife and I spent a weekend in San Fran and wanted something reasonably priced, close to city destinations and mass transit, and with its own flare. The Mystic fulfilled all three and then some! If you're […] someone who likes Holiday Inns and Motel 6's, then this place is not for you. It's an older building with a lot of character, filled with a staff that has equal character. I'd also say that this is a place probably meant for younger couples and friends. It has a wonderful bar/restaurant on the premises with an incredible mixed drink selection, and on Friday nights, they have a DJ spinning until 11 or so (like I mentioned above, this may not be the most family friendly place.) Overall, we were very pleased and would definitely stay again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel does not seem like it is that nice from the outside but once you go in it is actully very nice. The lobby smelled like lavender and the room was even nicer. I it had everything that i needed and it had a very nice ambiance. great for a getaway of the romantic sort or just for travels.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel. Needs better service"
We first arrived at our hotel and there was nowhere to park, nowhere to leave our bags. The girl at the front desk said it was illegal to park in front and sent us to a garage. We felt that they really needed a valet or concierge to help you when you arrived as we had never been there before and did not know where to go or what to do. The room was very […] nice but very small with no air conditioning. It was hard for my claustrophobic husband to sleep. We ended up leaving early after only one night. After a small amount of negotiating they finally agreed to give us our money back for the night we were not staying. We also were not satisfied with the location if you are going to walk around. Breakfast was very good and the hotel desk clerk was very nice and helpful. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Fun Hotel"
Everything in the hotel is great. Only problem is the old slow elevator. Otherwise it is a great cool place to stay. It is an old hotel that has been renovated to a great Gem. Great restaurant and lounge. Great breakfast each morning. Very european chic but friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great SF Experience"
Stacy at the Front Desk was very welcoming and helpful. The Burritt Tavern was great for supper and for the morning breakfast (included). Our room was stylish and comfortable. The location is terrific...just off the bustle of Union Square so not so noisy, but just a couple blocks to everything. Would definitely stay here again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The hotel was old and decent considering the city . However there was No A/C and the staff was less than helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very pretty, though small, room. Recently updated. Good free continental breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Although it's very near the seedy Stockton tunnel, it's also very near the upscale retail stores and hotels. The bar and restaraunt are top notch.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice hotel, but loud!"
Overall, the hotel was nice and had a great location for union square. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There is a parking garage across the street which is very convenient. There is a lounge downstairs that can be pretty loud. Our room was located on the 3rd floor, and the music was so loud we had to call and get moved to another room. They upgraded […] our room and moved us immediately without any hassle. Our upgraded room was much quieter. We had a nice stay, and would stay here again, on a high floor. "Never stay in this hotel"
Never stay in this hotel. They will charge You for a bar usage U never touched. Poor people. I dont need your junk stuff. Find another housekeepers which will not take any of your cheap alcogol and chips!!!! And change your manager. She!! Promised to fix that charge but never EVER called back. Its a shame. Stay away of this shame hotel!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I loved the hotel, and walking all over San FransicoGenuine Hotels.com guest review
They have a club inside the hotel that plays techno music until 2:00AM. Completely inconsiderate of the guests. Also, on top of that the loading trucks will come around 7:00AM and bang their stuff around and wake you up. Expect no sleep at this hotel. I'll never stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was a great hotel for the price. It had a chic modern style, comfortable although snug rooms, and delicious complimentary breakfast bar. The only drawback is the elevator which is slow and confused - I took the stairs up eight floors rather than wait for it as it passed my floor numerous times. The live jazz bar from 6 to 10pm on the second floor […] helps you set your night up with the right mood before heading out on the town for the evening or let's you keep the party close by your room. While many have criticized the breakfast bar for not offering enough- it's actually a great deal if you're hoping for a healthy rather than heavy bite before heading out. No- there isnt an omelette bar or waffle iron, but there is oatmeal, cereal, yogurt and granola, pastries, local breads, bagels, hard boiled eggs, Nutella and some more- with Starbucks coffee and OJ. You'd pay at least $20 for all that elsewhere. I would definitely return on my next stay in San Francisco! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is clean and nicely decorated. Their is only one elevator I walked the stairs with luggage and all multiple times. The bartender was rude a accused me of not paying my tab when in reality we tipped 25%! The room was never visited by a maid durning our stay. Simply not worth the price!Genuine Expedia guest review
Stayed here for one night last minute and was quite surprised by the rooms. I was skeptical about about the quality and how nice the rooms would be, but luckily to my surprise they turned out to be a very nice little hotel room. Lovely Brick wall aroubd the window, and cute little tile shower. I would definitely come back and stay hereGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quaint and Crafty"
Very much enjoyed the quaintness of this hotel. You just don't this type of experience in the big box/brand hotels that every room looks like the next. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the cocktails in the hotel bar. Our bartender was truely a master craftsman and to order a drink where the ingredients is the name of the drink (i.e Rum and Coke) would […] be a complete waste of an experience. Can't say enough of this little place and will stay there the next time me and the misses need to get away for a day or two of adult fun. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

hotel was great the food was super and the staff was awesome. .A short 1 mile walk to AT&T Park for the ballgameGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Rooms were extremely small with no air conditioning and a window that open a full two inches. There were no refrigerators, no ice machines and no vending machines. The elevator was clearly supposed to make to feel as though you were staying at a hotel circa 1950's only no bell hop and you had to open and close the door manually if you ever got to your […] chosen floor. Enjoyed our stay at this unique hotel! Would stay there again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
To pay this much for a very small room on a not-so-great street with an old, slow elevator was bad enough, but to learn on the 90-degree day that I arrived that there was no air conditioning was extremely disappointing, The hotel also lacks amenities that I consider standard—like an ice machine! "Nice hotel, great breakfast."
Arranged for this room at the last minute. Wasn't expecting much after reading lots of reviews of San Francisco hotels. Was pleasantly surprised. Even though the room is the typically small San Fran hotel room, it was very comfortable, modern and had a fantastic walk-in shower. The continental breakfast in the morning was much better than I expected […] as well. The hotel is close to shopping and is easy to get to from the city bus. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
