"Good hotel, great value"
The only issue with this hotel, in my opinion, is the single old elevator that services all the floors. I was staying on the 8th floor and sometimes it took a while to get in and outGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place excellent bar"
To hotel was. A great fit for our visit to sanfrancisco . It is close to shopping in union square and a couple blocks away from china town . The bar is great and we could have just stay in one night just talking to the friendly bartenders. The drinks are great! The service at the front desk was good for the most part except one of the morning staff […] a lady was kind of snippy when asking for services around the area. All in all I would definitely stay there again. Next time I will check somewhere besides hotels.com as I saw there was a cheaper price for the hotel after we had checked in, it would have been nice to save a couple bucks when San Fran is an expensive city. Nice little boutique hotel near Chinatown and the convention center. The front desk staff was fantastic, and welcoming and the bar / restaurant had good food and drinks. Most notable was the breakfast, which was delicious! Rooms were a bit small, but still well appointed. Only two major issue I had was the level of street noise as well as controlling […] the temperature of the room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Food made the hotel"
Restaurant closed during lunch. Don't think room had AC so left window ajar. Room only had a short couch; would've rather had a chair. TV didn't have many kids' programs. Breakfast was good. Dinner nice. Bar didn't know how to make a strawberry margarita. Elevator, an old one, was slow. Hotel conveniently located.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
great location! the hotel is nice and the bar area in the second floor is really cool! also amazing breakfast!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Mystic Hotel was really great. The location is extremely convenient. The staff is also very helpful. The breakfast served is also excellent. My only complaint would be the noise that a truck makes at about 6am. I'm not sure if it's a laundry truck or service truck but it did make a lot of noise. "Nice Place, Stay off the 3rd Floor"
Lovely Boutique Hotel with nice accommodations. Standard Room includes a Classic Bay Window. Comfortable Bed and Large Shower, which is not always a regular feature of a renovated Hotel in SF. The hotel is lovely boutique style in the heart of San Fran. Not stopping in front of the hotel to drop off luggage, but there is a garage across the street and parking around the corner, which the hotel gives you a voucher for (less expensive than most places) The rooms were clean and comfortable, however the restaurant and bar that night we very busy […] and the service slow and waiters less than polite. For a hotel with a chef as popular as Charlie Palmer, I was less than impressed with the food. However breakfast was included and it was a fairly nice spread. I would recommend this hotel and stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel does NOT have air conditioning in the rooms. Only a ceiling fan. They opened our windows which was nice for fresh air but noisy from the street noise. The room gets quite stuffy. The elevator broke and we had to walk up 8 flights. There is only one elevator. The complimentary breakfast was sufficent but et there early. We admired the boutique […] feel and recognize its an old building and thats what gives it charm. It's in the heart of the Union square district which was convenient. "Fun times near China Town"
We enjoyed our stay at the Mystic! The room was clean & comfortable, and even though the hotel is in a busy neighborhood, it was actually very quiet at night. The staff was friendly & helpful, and the free breakfast was very good. The hotel is in a very busy neighborhood between Union Square & China Town, which can make finding parking difficult, but […] they have a huge public parking lot across the street & another 24hrs lot around the corner. It's great & much cheaper than valet parking at other hotels. The bed was very comfortable, & clean. It's very fun mix of clean & modem, with historic & timeless charm. My only complaints are that due to it being an older building, the plumbing was old. The shower didn't have very strong water pressure, but we DID have plenty of hot water. S.F. was having a heat wave while we were there, so it was unusually warm, the only way to cool the room was the ceiling fan above the bed & 2 of the 3 windows that you could lock open. The room cooled down after were turned the radiator completely off, and let the fan run for an hour or so. The other weird thing was that the bedside table lamps did not have any on/off switches & were NOT connected to any light switches. The only way to turn them off was to unplug them from the wall! Nice weekend getaway. Rooms were comfortable and clean and the hotel staff was very accommodating. The breakfast was very good. The only downside was that the restaurant was closed on Saturday evening for a private party. We had planned on cozy dinner and listening to some jazz music.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lovely boutique hotel"
When we arrived our room was not ready (even though we were checking in around 4). We had someplace to be at 5, so we just left all our bags up front and came back after dinner. Once we came back, we were told that they upgraded our room to a King, which we were thankful for. While it's an old building, the room was lovely. Our room was small, but I […] think this is pretty much "status quo" for most San Francisco hotels. They do not have air conditioning, which wasn't a problem in March, but might be a problem in summer. They have a great bar (actually one of the top 10 bars in San Francisco), and the staff was very friendly. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cozy Hotel in Union Square. Worth a look."
Great location. Cozy but comfortable room. Good service. Strong WiFi signal. Hopping bar and restaurant with broad whiskey selection. Current art program is thought-provoking and virtually interactive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"fun stay, fun hotel. Don't leave your charger"
We were hotel hoping for our 4 day stay in SF, trying to enjoy some of the lower/same-day rates and also experience some of the boutique hotels that SF has to offer. We loved this charming hotel, with the Modern decor, great location (for bars, Union Square, and lots to see/do within a hop of the hotel). Our room was T.I.N.Y, but we kind of knew that […] going in with the titl of a "jr. room". No matter. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and cute. The view out the window was non-existent (view of industrial material and brick walls), but the free WIFI and complimentary AWESOME breakfast made up for that in a heart beat. Do yourself a favor sand stay in this boutique hotel over the hoity-toity businessy hotels in the area. You''l appreciate the charm and friendly staff. One negative. We had to move some furniture to find an outlet to charge my phone. Unfortunately, as a result, I left my phone charger int he room upon check out. We called from the airport and were told it was there and they would mail it to us. Gave them all necessary info and the charger never came. We called and were told they see a note in the "book" but can't explain why the charger never arrived. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice except for garbage collection noise"
Great hotel; the only drawback was LOUD garbage trucks in the back alley at 5:30 AM, and because the hotel HVAC was warm, the windows were open (they were when I checked in). Other than that, the place was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice but noisy"
Really cute hotel with a great bar, nice breakfast and good location. Rooms were pretty small but very clean. Major issue: extremely noisy! Had two nights of terrible sleep due to all the noise.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Good breakfast, it was a nice amenity for the location. Hotel has a lot of charm and the room was comfortable and clean. It was really close to Chinatown and union square, neighborhood was kind of sketchy after dark and I don't know if I would venture out by myself. Our only complaint was our room was facing an alley so we were rudely woken up by truck […] deliveries both mornings at 6 am and 7 am. Nice hotel in Financial District. Staff at front desk was great, food in restaurant was excellent and the 25% discount at the restaurant made it even better. Although the staff didn't come off as very warm (no issues at all however), everything else was great. I love this hotel and the bar - great bartender. Breakfast was good too - and it was complimentary. Good location too - close to restaurants and bars. Good job!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

I like this hotel. But in this day and age it needs a gym to work out in, even if it just a couple of treadmills. Telling me to walk around the corner to 24 hour fitness doesn't cut it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Great stay. Loved that it was near Union Square and close to Market Street. The adjoining bar, The Burritt Room is great. Reece the bartender was great. "No room at the inn"
After flying in from the East Coast I arrived a little early, at 12:20, and was told my room wasn't ready, and because the room cleaning was all at lunch it would be 2 hours before my room would be ready. I came back at 2:15, and was told my room was still not ready. The front desk staff tried very hard to get to wait out of site in the back lobby, […] but I pulled a chair over to a plug and began working on my i-pad, just around a column from the front desk. One hour later I noticed that 3 parties entered the hotel and were given rooms in quick succession. By this point there was a manager at the desk, and when I approached rhe desk and said I'd been waiting 3 hours (one of which was in their lobby), she apologized and said that she did not see me sitting behind the column. One of the two original desk staff was still on duty and would not look at me. The manager kept apologizing and said she would upgrade my room from a queen to a king bed. Nice try, but all I got was a bigger bed for just me, and I lost most of the only free time I has in the city. The hotel does offer breakfast beginning at 7, but i had to check out by 6, so I can't evaluate that part of the service. I hope to be back in San Francisco on another business trip in the fall, but I won't be staying at this hotel. Neither will any if the several dozen staff from my company that were scattered at hotels all around the neighborhood. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Tiny room but very modern"
Check in was fast and great. The hotel lobby is modern looking but the elevator is ancient it is only large enough for 2 people with suitcases but it worked! The room we stayed in was very tiny but we really didnt need anything more. If u are traveling with more than 2 people ask if they have larger rooms as there is literally no room on the floor for […] anything but a small bag. The bed is only 2 feet from all walls. Maybe a 10x10 room. the door hits the bed. The bathroon is a little larger though. The shower is large. The breakfast was decent and free. Our stay was enjoyable but a little claustrophobic. Would stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Overnight stay at the Mystic Hotel"
We stayed overnight to celebrate my birthday. The only thing about the Mystic hotel that was great was the convenient walking distance near Union square, but the hotel is not what we expected. As you walk into the hotel it smells like citrus scents. The front desk was not as friendly and welcoming, did not greet us and they didn't have a smile on their […] faces. The room is small, no view and the sheets did not seem clean and the hotel is older with a mildew scent. This hotel was rated a 4 star hotel which should be only 2 stars. "Night of Terror in Mistic Hotel"
The room was tiny, hardly any room to walk for a few days it is too cramped. The front desk was courteous but they rented a room to me without a working phone. Some lunatic came by trying to bust in my room in the middle of the night and I could not call for help. As a woman traveling alone this was terrifying and when I finally got through on my cell […] phone no help came until the guy had left. Security left without finding out who had been their and the lunatic came back. The hotel staff was not able to help me and in the morning when it was time to check out I asked if I could leave my belonging since I had no sleep so that I would not have to rush and pack after such a terrible night and they would not do it. I understand that every drunk and loon that checks in is not their fault but when the staff told me that the phone had a work order in and they rented the room to me anyone I was pretty furious. If the guy was able to break into my room and harm me it would have been their fault for renting a room that had faulty equipment. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
