"old in the tooth"
carpeting run down. rooms that open to the atrium need to be double paned...way too noisy!!! they charge for wireless internet...whats with that!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Fantastic check in by staff. Great pillows. The breakfast was NOT to the standard usually presented by Embassy Suites. Enjoyed the option of purchasing Peete's coffee....which I did.Genuine Expedia guest review
We enjoyed the reception with cocktailsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean and ready"
As promised my room was ready, clean and extra pillows as requested. The staff " Holly " recommended a great restaurant. and gave great directions ! I will stay again when in townGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Made a quick stay fun"
This place knew how to be generous. Every evenning open bar for 2 hours created a warm and festive atmosphere. Guests actually mingled together. Also the morning buffet was also another nice place to gather and eat a quality breakfast.Genuine Expedia guest review
Couldn't find the hotel on Madonna road. Checked Google maps which locates the hotel on a side street of unknown address, not on Madonna road. I suppose we might have phoned the hotel and asked that they send up some flares, but it was very early in the day, as it happened, so we drove on to visit friends.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"tries hard to satisfy customers but poor a/c"
We have stayed there several times in the past with no real problems. This time (05-14-2014) we had a room with a poor a/c unit. Maintenance came and tried to fix it, which made it marginally better, but eventually the facility mechanic just brought us a fan that helped some more. Overall the hotel was a delightful place to stay, but the a/c needs to […] be improved in our room. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Super clean and comfortable. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Definitely will stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review
Didn't know what to expect. But when we entered the room , we we're surprised. The rooms were very nice. We had forgot some stuff, but when we called for extra items, they were brought up to us immediately. Definitely will stay here again on our next trip to that area.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not worth the money"
This hotel is in real need of renovation. For the money is definitely not worth it. The buffet was mediocre. The rooms just seemed a little tired, carpet and furniture in need of replacement. The location is fine, surrounded by stores and struggles.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was fine, but no wi-fi unless you're a premier member? Are you kidding me?Probably won't come back because of that.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Little Scrubing Could do Wonders"
The lobby and the dining areas were fine for this hotel but the rooms are dated and overcrowded with too much furniture. It appears as if they were having a tag sale and left all of the remainders in our hotel room. We stayed for just one night and booked 2 rooms, each with 2 beds. We're a family of 6 and needed the space. The bathroom showers could […] have also benefited with some extra scrubing. Finally the layout was odd with one bathroom sink and a 2nd sink in a hallway between the living room and the bedroom. This place needs lots of updating for the price. BUT keep in mind there are not many good choices in San Luis Obispo for ~$250 a night. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Clean but dated hotel"
We stayed here for just one night. We were in town for a race and needed every last second of the noon checkout. Staff was nice, room was clean but dated. I would consider a less expensive hotel next time for what we got here, though.Genuine Expedia guest review
Avoid pull out matress with your life. We had 2 adults and 4 kids in one room. Put kids in queen beds in one room so parents could enjoy some quiet time, but the pull out was unusable and sleeping was an impossibility. Otherwise stay was decent. Good location with lots of shopping and entertainment close by. Rooms were clean, staff was pleasant.Genuine Expedia guest review
Right next to highway, noisy. Hallways run down with dirty carpets.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice place, close to freeway. Hotel was nice enough; liked the courtyard. Negatives: lousy breakfast, having to pay for internet.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Embassy Suites San Luis Obispo"
Good location in SLO...close shopping and restaurants. Room was very good and comfortable. Plenty of towels.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Love Embassy Suites overall"
Stayed here many times and keep coming back. This was the first time we had one of the rooms they have where French doors open from the bedroom into the atrium area. Bad design. In the morning, with the doors closed and lying in bed, we could hear everything going on from breakfast being set up to clinging and clanging of silverware on plates. Luckily […] we are early risers or else we would have been really bothered. Still love this hotel but will make sure we don't get one of these rooms again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"nice hotel i will state there again"

"Great Hotel, great location"
Embassy Suites are always a cut above other hotels in their price point. I will definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel showing it's age"
Hotel is comfortable and in a safe area but it's in need of a serious update. The carpets and rooms are worn out. They're comfortable but not great. The services at the hotel are very nice though. The free breakfast is really good -no need to go anywhere else. The afternoon happy hour is good too but not a substitute for dinner.Genuine Expedia guest review
Had fun and nice area...only 2 miles drive from cal poly university and shirt drive to Morro bay and Pismo beach!Genuine Expedia guest review
Love the two-room suites and the free breakfast & evening complimentary drinks. Room is clean & quiet.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Family Hotel"

"We will definely go back."
the rooms were very spacious and the breakfast they provided was very good!!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great but hard to find"
This room is exactly what you would expect from Embassy Suites. There is a separate bedroom area with a clean, comfortable bed. Everything looks up to date and well maintained. It is perfect for traveling as a family. Our only complaint is that it is not marked well and was difficult to find at the back of the shopping plaza.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great hotel close to downtown"
Maid went in as soon as she knocked didnt give us a chance to go to the door when she unlocked the door and this is not the first time it happened to us at embassy hotels lolGenuine Expedia guest review
"Would stay again."
Large hotel decorated by somebody from the 70's, but clean. Help is friendly and efficient. Parking is free.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Comfortable hotel in convenient location"
Hotel is conveniently located near stores and several restaurants. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are comfortable and large. The free breakfast is excellent. I would definitely stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Average, noisy, hard to find Hotel from Road"
This Embassy Suites is just OK. It was difficult to find from Madonna Rd. I put the address in my GPS and when I arrived at the location on Madonna Rd. I could not find a huge hotel. Well, it sits back behind a shopping center and I missed the 2 foot tall sign out on the lawn. My room backed up to Hwy 101 and I could hear the cars roaring down the freeway. […] Eventually, I got so tired I fell asleep, but too noisy for a light sleeper. The pull out sofa was torn on the side. For the amount of money I spent I expected a little bit more. "Very old hotel and the room looks quite dirty"
The hotel rooms are quite old. The carpets are dirty and the bathroom is quite small. The rate charged for the amenities provided is very high. I have stayed in far better hotels for much lesser price. I will never go to Embassy suites again.Genuine Expedia guest review
The only reason why I didn't give them 4 stars is because the elevators where down when we went there and we were on the 4th floor. Also it's very noisy we had our room on the inside of the dome so you could here people pretty much til 11:30-12:00 midnight and as early as 6:00am when they were preparing breakfast. Breafast was good though. We were coming […] in from going to the beach in Avila and I walked up to the front desk asking if they could send up 5 sets of towels for my family of 5. He said here I can give them to you right now. So I'm riding up the elevator holding a huge pile of towels along with the other stuff I was carrying in. =\ really? Ok. Other than that it was roomy enough for all of us and suited our stay. I would stay again but have a room on the outsides of the hotel, not towards the inside of the building. "Very nice atmosphere"
Arrive early and take advantage of the free drinks (alcohol included) and snacks. Breakfast was a delight with a huge selection and even a free made to order omelet with the fixings. Will definetly stay again :)Genuine Expedia guest review
We have been dropping into this hotel now and again for the last 20 years. It has always been a fairly nice place, but this trip we were given a room which seemed to have been renovated recently. It was much nicer than our previous trips, but I don't know if the entire hotel was redone, or just this section. We were on the 4th floor this time, and the […] difference in noise from the courtyard area was noticeable. In the past, on lower floors, I was always woken up early in the morning by workers setting up the breakfast buffet area (light sleeper) but this 4th floor room was quiet, clean and comfy. Had a very nice stay. Even with our very late check in and a full hotel we had a walkable distance parking space. Immediately adjacent to a shopping mall in case you need to run out and buy something. Recommended. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Two nights with the grandkids"
Nice atmosphere and really friendly staff. Great breakfast buffet! The TV in our living room area wasn't working which was a little disappointing in the evenings and there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom, but other than that everything was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Do not stay at this hotel"
I paid for a master bedroom and when I arrived at the hotel with my girlfriend they tried to stick us in a noisy handicap room across from all of the vending machines. They blamed Expedia and said that they booked the ADA room and that they the hotel staff deal with this 10 time a day? so I questioned why they haven't dealt with this up to now?? no […] intelligent answer..Nowhere on the booking was anything about ADA requirements mentioned. keeping in mind I actually paid quite a bit for the room over other hotel offerings at the same time. I am absolutely disgusted with the response. Someone that traveled a lot.. Do not use this hotel.. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice staff and great breakfast!"
Great. Nice place to stay. Breakfast was good and the rooms are clean and comfortableGenuine Expedia guest review
Arrived very late after a long trip and found the staff to be very helpful! The room was quiet and the beds very comfortable. Plenty of space the room and the buffet breakfast was amazing! We will stay here again!Genuine Expedia guest review
Rooms are big enough for a family of 4. Breakfast and happy hour are great. Staff was courteous. Walking distance to restaurants and grocery store makes it conventient.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was nosy because the rooms face an indoor courtyard- and we heard nosy ALL night long then at 6am they start breakfast serving and all the noise came into our room... old hotel popcorn ceiling old and smelly --Genuine Expedia guest review
"Central location to get to know SLO"
Service I expect for the price. The breakfast itself is worth it as their selection was wonderful. Room is a room. Clean and comfortable. Downfall is that their pool is not really overseen by staff. We tried going twice and found ourselves needing to hear a group of youth with their music and smoking around the jaguzzi. My son felt scared and as much […] as I tried to make them understand, they took over the pool (splashing and just goofing around). One person called and I never saw anyone come. The reception staff were young too so don't know how they could have enforced anything either. Too bad as it was a nice pool. I know this a isolated but it is nice to know that if they have a pool open until midnight, staff would walk around more often and just check it out. The hotel room had thin walls too. I couldn't sleep because the people in the next room were up until 2 a.m. laughing and making things fall. As if they were jumping from their beds. The second night was quite as they had checked out. "Very nice stay"
We had a very nice stay. Having two rooms gave us more privacy. The breakfast had every possible breakfast food you can eat, even made-to-order omelets. It was great! Liked the complimentary drinks, too.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"could use some improvements..."
im not sure what it is, but the last three embassy suites that I've stayed in, the doors were opened. the door was not shut completely and I didn't even need to use my room key to get in. It was disturbing because I don't know if the room was used by other guests/employees prior to checking in or what. i like to check into a room where i don't have […] to worry about checking the cleanliness prior to using it. after checking in, i walked around the property to check out the pool and the gym. i noticed the same thing with the opened doors. with previous experience in customer service and hospitality, opened and unlatched doors were unacceptable. aside from that, the property was in a great location... i was in walking distance to dinner, a grocery store, and shopping centers and so much more. the staff was great: nice, efficient and knowledgeable of the area. "Kids loved the pool"
Enjoyed the breakfast. Complimentary "welcome" event was a little sparse, but I totally understand as it was free. Overall, exactly what we expected from Embassy. Happy and content.Genuine Expedia guest review
