Location.
The InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort is located on Koh Samui's unspoilt, secluded, and tranquil western coast. The resort's tropical landscape flows gently down to the private white-sand beach below. Stunning sunset views can be experienced. Samui lies on the gulf of Thailand, and the resort may be reached by air from Bangkok, or from the resort island of Phuket. There are also regular ferry services from Surat Thani, the closest mainland city. An airport shuttle is available on request; advance notice is required.
Hotel Features.
Located directly in front of the hotel, a coral reef suitable for swimming stretches past the water sports center. Guests can relax on the hotel's private beach with cabanas, lounge chairs, and beach umbrellas. Two restaurants, a coffee shop, and a bar are on-site, providing between them ocean-view dining, children's menus, and varied eating and drinking options. The resort has a cliff-top infinity pool, a beachside infinity pool, and a steam room and full service spa. Guests can enjoy a Swedish, sports, or Thai massage, perhaps on the beach, and other services including waxing are provided in the privacy of treatment rooms and couples treatment rooms. The spa also features a steam room and a spa boutique, and the hotel has a convenient hair salon. The onsite fitness center has the latest equipment. Two floodlit tennis courts, a driving range, and a ‘pitch and putt' are on site. Sea kayaks, windsurfing boards, and sailboats are all available to guests throughout the day, alongside the option of a boat tour, and land sailing is available, as well as complimentary bicycles. The hotel offers a ballroom and conference room for hosting events, and wireless Internet access is available throughout the resort (complimentary). There is also a computer station for guests to use. Guests can also take advantage of onsite babysitting/childcare (surcharge) and a free children's club. Wireless Internet access is available free of charge, and all rooms are air conditioned and feature televisions, CD players, clock radios, DVD players, and minibars. Bathrobes and slippers are available in all guestrooms, and rooms have rainfall showerheads, as well as deep soaking bathtubs. A nightly turndown service is provided and housekeeping is offered daily. Guests are greeted on arrival with welcome drinks, and can select their choice of pillows from a menu.
