Very affordable hotel, super friendly staff. I got in 2 hours before check in time and they were able to get me into a room so I didn't have to wait. Free airport shuttle. Would definitely recommend!

Nice selection of food items on the continental breakfast (cereal, juice, fresh fruit). Close to the airport so took only about 15 minutes to get to the airport. The hotel contracts with a shuttle service so call ahead so you know which shuttle service to use. Also the hotel will need to coordinate for service from the hotel to the airport/cruise ship. […] Shuttle service arrived 10 minutes early on departure morning so had plenty of time to get to the airport. Front desk staff was exceptional and friendly. Gave me great recommendations for eating locations within walking distance. This hotel met all my expectatioins. Although I never rank anything as superior- I believe there is always room for improvment some where. Nothing is perfect. The location was great for the Hop on-Hop off Shuttle only a block or so away. The airport and rental car return was very close--only a five minute drive. The Hotel staff was very helpful in all […] areas. My only issue might be the limited seating space for the traditional pastry, cereal, coffee and fruit contentinal breakfast. (I would like some protein for breakfast but seldom see it in this price range of hotels.) Hotel is located in a nice area one block from the marina and there are fast food and high end resturants nearby. My friend and I spent three weeks on the CA coast and this (4 nites) hotel was as nice or better than the others I stayed in during my trip. Clean rooms, clean grounds. Had to stay there one night to catch an early flight the next morning. Very convenient location in relation to SAN. Room was on the third floor. Had a rustic feel with stained vaulted ceilings. if you are coming in or going out. We were meeting friends and staying in the Gaslamp the next 3 nights and just needed 1 night. The Staff was helpful, even gave us a gift! The "breakfast" was toast, cereal, fruit and juice. One good thing was the proximity to "Little Italy". It is 2 blocks away and easily walkable on a bust street. The room was adequate except for the very old toilet that was hard to flush. Also window air conditioning is not the best as it comes on all night every few minutes. If you need a place to stay that is covenient to the Airport, Convention Center and walking distance to major shopping and eating locations....wihout all the bells and whistles, just a place to rest your head... than you get your money's worth. Room is okay, overall in good condition. Air-conditioning is noisy. Hotel staffs are not friendly and not willing to help. Included breakfast is only standard one, no hot dishes like scrambled egg and ham, only cereals and bread.

train tracks DIRECTLT in rear of hotel- trains going by shook the room, whistle blowing until 11pm then restarted at 6 am. 3 streets away from the airport runway with same schedule of planes. Would never stay there again.

Contrary to previous posts I thought the room and service was very good. The room had a clean smell, the bathroom was clean and in good working order. I have stayed at similar hotels in San Diego, and this one was just as good as the other ones - Comfort Inn, etc. However, the breakfast is very disappointing. No waffles, no fruit, no boiled egg. Great location close to all attractions. We especially enjoyed being just a few blocks from Little Italy. Pool is small and not heated, but felt fine in August. Location was great, although lots of construction going on around it and the transit/trainstation is 1 block away. Room cleanliness is pathetic, walls filthy, very dated, needs overhaul of elevators (all rusty on the doors (brushed up against it and ruined a shirt).

the room looked clean but the non-smoking room reaked of smoke. They did have a sign saying if you smoke they charge you $300.00 to clean well if they charged the last guest they sure didn't use it to get rid of the smell. We left two plastic hotel disposable cups on the night stand and housekeeping didn't throw them out and didn't replace them where […] the coffee maker was. The doors sure could use some paint on the outside or clean them up a bit. Over all it was ok since we spent limited time in the room. I travel for buisness but wouldn't feel comfortable staying at this hotel by myself. This trip was for pleasure not business so I felt safe since i was with my husband. The heat from the weather leaves a funny smell in the room when you first enter. For the rest, it is a very good alternative to enjoy your stay with your family at a good price. Near Trolley, Amtrack and airport so noisy ... use the air conditionning and keep the windows closed not to hear the noisy surrounding!

My only complaint was the undependable van service to and from the airport. I ended up having to take a taxi both ways. The airport service is contracted out and runs on a very infrequent schedule. It took close to 2 yrs. to be picked up and I finally took a taxi.
