Make sure you request a room above the 3rd floor. We were on the second floor and it was very noisy! The service elavator was next to our room. The floor above was the service floor. They were wheeling carts all night long and making more noise from three to six am every day!

Just back from 10 days at the Westin with my wife and 21yo son. Our 2nd trip to Cabo, his 1st. We stayed at the Hilton last time. I am a technology exec who travels regularly outside the US. Overall we had a great trip and recommend the Westin. We did learn a few things that Cabo newcomers should know. Westin property and rooms were clean and well […] maintained. The place was well staffed, we had little to no waiting despite the hotel begin pretty full for Christmas. We get up late and always miss the recliners, but the beach/pool staff easily tracked some down several days with 5 minutes delay max. My wife is very picky about her pools - lots of them, good temp, bar service in/out of the pool, etc. She mostly spends the trip there. We picked the Westin based on the number of pools plus beach size. Hilton pools were a tad fancier but we were quite happy at Westin. My son and I did a lot of activities - we found out we really needed to rent a car. From the Westin location, if you take 1 car trip/day you easily break even in a midsize. But do rent at the airport - the onsite guy is helpful but you don't get the same deal. Only drawbacks to Westin are: (1) lots and lots of stairs due to layout of property (there are elevators and ramps). (2) location is great for adults but our son was bored. hotel is 20 mins from San Lucas, Westin night life very limited: (3) wireless coverage is spotty on ipad - voice/video do not work. Data only. The Westin is a wonderful resort with an even more amazing staff always ready to satisfy your requests in any moment especially the breakfast and pool/beach staff. Waves here are very high and most days they have a black flag up and you can't go in the water. They don't have any organized activities. No yoga, no dancing, no music, no water sports, nothing! This is truly a wonderful place to stay, it's unfortunate that upon check-out I had a big surprise with the bill. I was told an upgrade would be "$100 extra", and so agreed. Upon check-out after 3 nights, I found a bill three times the size I expected. The staff would not admit that I wasn't told the whole truth, that the upgrade actually cost "$100 […] extra per night." We were also not told that the upgrade included free breakfast and appetizers through the Royal Beach Club Lounge until we asked, as many have reported. Later, we asked where it was located a couple of times and were directed to a small pub (which happened to have horrible service each time). Very strange. Never felt that we experienced it the way others did ("wonderful view" etc). I can't rate this hotel with the highest marks because of the above irritations and snafus. Every employee you encounter, from the front desk, to the restaurant head waiters, to the waiters and waitresses, to the people who bring you drinks at the pool, to the cooks, the maids, and the bellboys seems dedicated solely to making your stay a wonderfully memorable experience. They really try harder! If you can afford the extra $100 per day, join the Royal Beach Club. Free breakfast, free drinks in the evening with snacks great enough so that supper isn't necessary, and a room with a full beach and pool view. The value will be much greater than the $100 and will greatly enhance your stay. Finally, the restaurants on the property are simply outstanding. It is located on the tourista corridor and allows for easy access to San Jose (quaint, artsy and great restaurants) or Cabo San Lucas (more of a party place, equally good restaurants). Westin Spa and Resort Los Cabos at first glance is visually striking as an architectural structure. The place is massive. Beyond that, the room was okay, the service was average (quite slow) and the prices were absolutely absurd. Five US dollars for a COCA-COLA. Spent 5 days at this very nice hotel, built between two mountains. Great Mexican contemporary architecture with every room facing the ocean. Great beach and pools. Large sized rooms with couch and balcony. Very friendly service (but don't expect Four Seasons). We are Starwood Preferred and opted for the Royal Beach Club - buffet breakfast and cocktails/snacks […] from 5-7. Food was good, but focus on buffets for breakfast and dinner. Two high end restaurants have great views - Italian restaurant fairly good but Arricifes is very high priced with limited menu. Relatively quiet as hotelonly about 50% occupied. We liked location closer airport and to San Jose (quieter historical town) compared to Cabo which had 3 cruise ships in harbor the day we visited. You can literally lay on the sand till dawn watching the thousands of stars and hearing the crashing waves. This resort is not intended for people on a budget (expensive food and drinks) and for people planning to enjoy Cabo San Lucas and the beach waters. Resort has a private beach but the ocean is too dangerous to enter and there is a lifegurad posted making sure you do not enter. The hotel itself is placed right on the coast so you get plenty of coastal views and sounds of ocean waves crashing.. it's quite beautiful. The hotel is kept very clean and service is nearly impeccable, concierge is very happy to help and valet guys are awesome with directions.
