Quiet, comfortable room in an ideal location for NOLA.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great stay except you could hear all the noises outside. For example:a garbage truck collecting trash at 2am & people being loud on the streets at 3am. Other than that the hotel stay was great!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel...But The Staff Needs To Tighten Up"
The evening crew present at check in was very accommodating, even offering my wife and I a complimentary bottle of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. The morning staff present at checkout left nothing to be desired, however. The guy at the desk rolled his eyes and copped an attitude at my wife whenever she checked us out and asked for change so […] that we could tip the bellman and the valet. People like him are poison to an otherwise great hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel St. Marie"
The walls of the room were dirty with fingerprints and dirt, but the housekeeping people stated that the painter was there to paint the rooms. I personally wouldnt have put anyone in that room, but maybe it was the only one available.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Elegant and clean. Comfy beds. Close to Bourbon S"
Hotel half block from Bourbon St. Walking distance from everything in the French Quarter. We had a balcony looking down on lovely courtyard. 2 queen size beds. Clean and comfy beds and pillows. Everything adequate. Staff friendly and helpful. Nice restaurant attached also a take out area.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel St. Marie- Issue with Cleanliness"
We had a suite. The bedroom was clean. The living room was VERY dirty. Several large and black stains in the carpet. Wrinkled carpet as it was badly water damaged. The sofa was disgusting. It was ripped and had several large stains on it. I have taken some pictures. When we arrived there was the toilet bowl was dirty. We called the front desk. They […] cleaned it right away. Entry door and the door into the bathroom were broken as if there was forced entry. We wanted to leave the hotel, bit we could not find any room in town. The hotel staff was very apologetic and accommodating. They did what they could to keep us happy. We stayed. Hotel staff was very king and helpful. Food at the hotel restaurant was very good. Service was great. Overall- Mixed feelings; I would blame management for poor condition of the room not the employees. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The Hotel St Marie is a great hotel. The service was wonderful. The staff is friendly and helpful. The mattresses are amazing. I wanted to take the bed home. The location is perfect. One half block from Bourbon St. Quiet enough to be comfortable. Close enough to be right in the middle of Bourbon St activities. The price was very reasonable. Plus they […] have a charming courtyard restaurant with equally wonderful staff. I will definitely return to this hotel when I'm in New Orleans. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Overcharged for Down-sized services."
I reserved and paid top price for King room with balcony. At check-in I was told "no king rooms available". I accepted queen room. When I inquired about balcony, I was told it is $20 per night up-charge. Since I was "downgraded" to queen, I did not feel upcharge was fair. Unfortunately I had to pay it. Housekeeping was barely adequate. One day I was […] totally skipped for cleaning. I only received 2 bars of soap for the week. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Excellent location. Only drawback was an awkward slatted bathroom door that did not offer much privacy. The hotel restaurant had a delicious breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"One Bad Apple"
Had a great trip to the Big easy! We stayed at the St Marie and it was a wonderful stay except for 1 employee. He worked the night shift and we was RUDE and offensive OUT OF NO WHERE! We informed the desk manager the next morning and he apologized. The rest of the staff was wonderful and we will stay there again next time we are in town. We didn't let […] the one bad apple spoil our trip. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Pleasant and comfortable hotel with easy access to Bourbon Street.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is 1/2 block from Bourbon St., so great location. The hotel is very lived in, but very well maintained. The service was excellent. My only con is the room was not very quiet. We were in a room with balcony overlooking the street and there was a lot of street noise. Since it was on weekdays, it quieted down at a reasonable hour. If you were […] here during the weekend or during an event it would be very noisy. Would still stay here again, and recommend it with the above noted caution. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel, Close to the French Quarter"
This is an excellent French Quarter, New Orleans hotel. The rooms and beds are very comfortable and the staff is friendly and does whatever they can do to help. I find this place affordable and comparable to a significantly higher priced Marriott or something like that. The rooms are generally a little smaller but the bathrooms are very nice. Our bed […] was very comfortable and the place was clean. They have a restaurant and a little bar room which is kind of cool but being only 500 feet from Bourbon Street we didn't dine there often. "Close to Jackson Square"
I locked my suitcase while I left to walk Jackson Square. Came back and found the lock in lock mode but had been opened. The zipper clasp has a very definite way to line up and lock and it had been opened!!! I was very disappointed. Then to notice the restroom floor was still dirty, tub was dirty and carpet was dirty, not vacuumed. I made different […] arrangements on the last night. We stayed elsewhere. "French Quarter Disappointment"
"Deluxe" King Room was barely large enough to accomadate the bed. The "Courtyard View" was actually a brick wall. Bathroom needs updating and at the least drain repair in the shower. Future stays in the Quarter will not include this dump.Genuine Expedia guest review
The room was very worn, dirty and small. The staff was nice however and the location to Bourbon St. made it tolerable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The room we stayed was too small for two queen beds. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The bathroom was a closet sized room. The place could use an upgrade in the near future. Again, the location in town is good and the employees are friendly and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Possibly over priced"
Location was perfect for Bourbon St & French Quarter axtivities. Staff very friendly & accomodating. Our room did not have a balcony (really no need for one). Hotel seemed old and cheaply upgraded. Partioned door to restroom, only 1 elevator (glad it wasnt real busy), only ice machine on ground floor.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel with character and a friendly staff"
We had only one issue with our stay and it was at the time of check in. We went to New Orleans for our anniversary to see a concert and stay in a nearby hotel. We arrived at Hotel St Marie 1 hr before the concert started (we were less than a 5 minute cab ride away). There was a couple in front of us in line at the front desk having all sorts of issues […] with their reservation. We waited for 20 minutes before finally deciding to check our luggage and go ahead and go to the concert early. It just seems to me the hotel manager that was assisting them could have allowed us to quickly check in while they dealt with their lengthy issue. We planned on walking to the concert venue and enjoying the scenery of the French Quarter and got there in enough time to do it. The one thing we didnt plan for was the unorganized guests in front of us, nor the fact the hotel has only one front desk agent at 6:00pm. And surprise surpise, when we checked out at 9:00am the next morning, there was no line, but 2 people working behind the desk. All employees were very friendly and our valet/bellman ran down the street to get us a cab when we told him we were in a rush. These friendly employees made our experience very pleasant. The balcony in our room was also great Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not a pleasant experience"
This French Quarter hotel needs to mention to clients if they are being put in a windowless room. Our room was very dungeon-like. It was freezing with no additional blankets in the room. I had to lay my clothes on top of the bed for additional warmth. The TV was very old with a terrible picture, which is forgivable since we're really not there to watch […] TV. However, based on what they charge for rooms and valet parking, there is no reason that they cannot do the updating needed in this hotel. Carpet was dirty with the previous guests hair scrunchy on the floor. Room was VERY dark. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Hotel full of character in French Quarter"
We booked a Jr. Suite - we highly recommend the suites because of the charm/character of the room. The standard rooms just don't have the character of the suites. The best part of the hotel was the location - not even a block from Bourbon Street, within walking distance of Jackson Square, one street over from Royal Street where there is great shopping, […] and within walking distance of hundreds of great restaurants (Deanie's Seafood, ACME Oyster House, Court of Two Sisters, Crescent City Brewery, Chartres House, etc.) There were some staffing issues which effected maid service and getting re-stocked on things (soap, towels)...but with a call to the front desk, we received everything we needed within minutes. The exterior of the hotel was everything you would expect in the French Quarter - beautiful balconies with wrought iron that looks like lace. The hotel had a beautiful courtyard with a pool hidden in the heart of the hotel. We didn't eat at Vacherie, the restaurant inside the hotel, except to get morning coffee and a croissant. We would definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
If looking for a reasonable priced hotel located in the French Quarter and close to Bourbon Street, this is your hotel. The room was nothing fancy, but we were not planning on being in the room much except to sleep. The hotel is literally right by Bourbon Street and in the heart of the French Quarter. The hotel is also near the street cars which gives […] options for seeing New Orleans. This was our first time in New Orleans, and we felt that the location of the hotel was what made the hotel great. It is so close to the action, but was very quiet. The hotel has a pool, but it is very small, but we were not concerned with swimming. The staff at the hotel was great!!! The valet and desk clerks were so helpful. We arrived early, so they stored our bags, and arranged a tour for us. We would stay here again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
