"Right by Belmont EL"
Reviewed by P of Milwaukee, WI on Jan 17, 2010
I found the location to be fantastic! It's a few steps from the Belmont connecting EL train. Parking is underground structure however an additional $22. Like many others said the room is tiny and the elevator is even smaller (fits 4 back to back). The room was very toasty if you are naturally cold. I on the other hand am naturally warm, so I left the bathroom window open when I left for the day (seemed to do the trick). The remote for the tv had close to dead batteries which was very annoying having to rotate the batteries almost every 4 channels. Comfortable bed and pillows and helpful staff. Overall I'd stay again.

I needed a room in the city at the last minute, and although I was working downtown I stayed here anyway. This is a very nice hotel. The room was small but well appointed. The bathroom clean with good shower head and water pressure. This hotel is in a nice neighborhood, and close to Wrigley Field and The Briar St. Theatre (Blue Man Group). There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The only problem is that the hotel sits right next to the EL Purple Line Station. While this does make for easy train access it also makes the rooms on that side of the building a little noisey. Being used to city life, it really didn't bother me that much, but light sleepers should request a room on the far side of the building. Also be ready for the smallest elevator in the city.

The shower pressure was terrible. But I fixed that with a screwdriver. I will definitely stay here again. Perfect for people visiting Boystown neighborhood.

Felt safe even through we weren't in "Kansas" any more. Took in a concert at the Vic Theatre and dinner after. Great location!

The hotel was located just feet from the blue line which made getting around town very easy. For the traveler on a somewhat tight budget I would definately recommend this hotel. The rooms are cozy, yet comfortable. The neighborhood felt safe and has plenty of restaurants around to find a good bite to eat. Didn't really spend much time in the room, but if you just need an affordable, comfortable place to sleep, give it a shot.

I was surprised at the spaciousness of this room despite its unassuming appearance from the street. Everything was great about this hotel from the comfort of the beds to the continental breakfast, except for the parking situation. We ended up double paying because the sensor they gave us at the front desk didn't work and the front desk lady wouldn't believe us that it didn't work. That was the only frustrating part of our stay. I would definitely stay here again and hopefully the garage is fixed.

The hotel is a "green" hotel, and was veery clean and efficient. The staff was friendly and always available to answer any questions we had. The location was half a block away from an El station, and had a considerable amount of local shops and restaurants well within walking distance. The room was a bit small, but being a tourist in Chicago not much time was spent there, and the ammenities more than made up for it's size.

Overall the hotel was nice, but seemed a little overpriced. The room was very small, but clean. The room is cooled by a window air unit that turned off the television every time it came on. While using the hotel-provided hairdryer for about 30 seconds I blew a fuse that lost all the power to the room and had to be reset by the front desk. The elevator is so small you can barely fit the luggage cart, two people, and still have room to reach the buttons, but it does the job. It was quite an experience! Even though it was close to Wrigley Field I think I'd book elsewhere and take the train.

My room backed to the 'El', you could hear the conductor announcing stops as the train pulled in. As people open and close their hotel doors or walk in the room above you, you can hear everything even their conversations. The only way to cool the room is a small window air conditioner, again very noisy and not very effective. The rooms are incredibly small. A couple of good things...The staff was very nice and the hotel is clean. If you don't plan on sleeping then I guess it's not that bad of a place.

The location is perfect, being right next to the EL (be sure to request a room on the quiet side). Interesting shops and restaurants in the neighborhood. The hotel had an 'old world' feel about it. Beds very comfortable with quality linens. Staff very pleasant and helpful. We stayed 2 nights. Our rooms was not cleaned while we were there. I truly think it was a mix-up and not intentional. And they did bring clean towels when I called . . . the 2nd time. When we complained the manager compensated us for the inconvenience of paying for a parking - which was acceptable to us. I would stay there again because the location is perfect for why I go to Chicago.
