Milan’s central station is monumental; full of marbled halls, terraces and mosaic floors. It is Northern Italy’s largest and busiest station and, arguably, Europe’s most splendid. Most international and high-speed trains arrive here and there is easy access to the city centre by metro. Nearby soars the Pirelli skyscraper (Grattacielo Pirelli), Milan’s highest building and symbol of its prosperity.

My husband and I spent one evening here after flying into Malpensa and then taking the airport bus direct to Stazione Centrale which is right across the plaza from the hotel. We left early the next day taking the train to Lake Garda which worked out very well. The proximity of the hotel to Stazione Centrale is the main reason we chose to stay here. I would not base myself here to visit tourist sites in Milan--I would choose a hotel in an area closer to the center of Milan.

We booked here because of the hotel's location. We arrived in Milan by train, had one day to visit the Duomo and the Galleria, and took the shuttle to the airport the next morning. The location was indeed great and the surrounding neighborhood was fine. What really surprised us was the quality of the hotel itself--the room was very nicely appointed (wonderful bed and linens, deluxe bathroom)and the breakfast was excellent. We've already recommended the hotel to relatives.

Right by the train station. Staff was helpful - above and beyond. Had been traveling for 10 days on research and had to mail stuff back home - they were helpful in telling me what to do, getting a box for my things and then even one of the staff carried it the block or so to the Mailbox Etc. The map of the city they supplied was excellent and the information regarding the public transportation system to see the sights was excellent. I had a most enjoyable time.

I recently stayed at the Starhotels Anderson and was impressed. I accidently took a wrong train and ended up having to stay in Milan an for the night. I utilized the reviews and location of the hotel to narrow my search down to this hotel. By the looks of the outside, especially at 10pm, i was concerned. I entered the hotel and was wildly impressed. The cleanliness was superior, the staff was incredibly helpful, and the room was surprisingly large (for european standards). If you need a hotel in close proximity to Milan Centrale then look no further. And as a special shout out, thanks to the hotel staff for the restaurant recommendation! The food was excellent at La Cadrega!

Hotel is right across from the central train station and only a block from the city metro (subway station). Hotel was very accommodating and gave excellent service. Breakfast was included and very good. Also, we were surprised at the amount of space in our room given the low price (compared to the average European and Italian standard room). Not in the best area of Milan and not a great place to walk around at night--plan to take the train or a cab to restaurants and shopping. We would definitely stay here again and will check out other Starhotel properties

Standing opposite the restored Central station the Anderson hotel is well placed for the traveller. Excellent service, good breakfast. Down side is the location. Other than the "Sympathy Bar" there is not many places to visit. The small restaurants know they have a captive market and change ridiculous prices for food and drinks. There is a supermarket at the opposite side of the Central Station. Don't let my observations put you off stopping at the hotel because you can use the subway to access some great places.

Very good hotel, high standard. Good breakfast, the waitress even came and asked us what kind of coffee we wanted. Minus for few tv-channels and that you have to pay 20 euro to use the internet. And only public parking. As for the internet, we come from a country where internet is very common, so 20 euro for 24 hours feels almost as if they were to make us pay 20 euro for watching tv or even using the toilet. Where did they get that figure from?
