"Hidden fees and not the best customer service"
If you want a floating hotel thats over 80 years old with bad customer service, you found it. Buyer beware: $14.95 per day "resort" fee (gives you half off the entry for all the attractions which are extremely over priced and terrible WiFi service.) $17 per day parking which is not posted anywhere nor mentioned at check in. My parking card didn't work […] for 2 days. Hotel has paper thin walls allowing you to hear the TV several rooms away. Overall the hotel is out of the way, over priced and not that special. "better than anticipated"
Very toddler friendly - very few breakables and fun for my toddler to run around on so many different levels, including the sun deck. The outer rooms with portholes have less space, but we stayed in an inner room that was very spacious (although no natural light) and had ample room for 2 full beds, a crib, and then some. Would happily recommend this […] place. A real treat. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed for 1 night in celebration of our anniversary and had a lovely time aboard. It was fun to roam about the ship at our leisure, and we appreciated the original décor from the ship's heyday. Had drinks in the observation lounge, which is beautiful! Will say that the walls are a little thin, but that's to be expected, so bring ear plugs. The front […] desk staff were exceptional when we had to change rooms, so sweet and very accommodating. Dinner at Sir Winston's is a must! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overall, a very nice stay"
The hotel is fascinating, with old pictures and furniture everywhere. It was fun walking around and checking out the old room, promenade and outside deck. They don't tell you up front but parking is an additional $17 and wireless is an additional $15, so those charges add up, and you don't get a choice - you have to pay the cost of wireless. The movie […] I wanted to watch kept cutting out and I finally just had to give up, so they refunded me that cost. Other than those things, it was a fun place to stay, and the hotel was well-kept and clean.. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Do not go if it is for business"
The bed, not so bad. The pillows (hard like a rock). For a person who has to get up early and go, not having available coffee access is unacceptable. The food was good and so was the service. Thank goodness I had a room with a window because the air did not work.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
A really individual place to stay. The rooms are small but are exactly as they would have been, and it's fun being able to walk around the ship.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Fun and different"
The "hotel" rooms consist of much of the first class portion of the Queen Mary, pretty much as it existed when it was retired from service. It is very interesting if you like history or fun, different accomodations. The tour was well worth the time, and the Art Deco bar was fun and had very good appetizers. It appears that they have trouble keeping […] everything "up" as the carpet is pretty old in some places, wood needs refinished, etc. There are some "hidden charges" that I think were well worth it and not unusual for hotels in larger cities - the facilities fee and a parking fee. The facilities fee includes the self guided tour of the ship and was well worth it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Just a little trip"
It was really nice to get up in the mornings and sit on deck looking out to the ocean with my morning tea. Walls are a little thin but the overall atmosphere is fantastic!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great blast from the past"
Although checking in was one of the worst experiences I've ever had, this hotel and attraction is so amazing. So much history, you literally feel the time era of the Queen Mary. The cleaning staff is also very helpful and up to expectations. The front desk needs some work, I was told by Mario that I was able to do early check in around 1 and that if […] I waited an hour he would personally give me a call to let me know the room was ready. Well, 3 o clock rolled around and I received no phone call. I understand if he wasn't able to check me in early but it would have been a courtesy to at least call and say that unfortunately a room wasn't available. Then when I approached him he was very rude and said I had to wait until 4 basically rushed me away. Then when I came back to the front desk at 4:30 nothing was logged about my room! I understand it is a very occupied hotel, however to not communicate and leaving me frustrated was not a great way to start my trip. However, all was well when another front desk staff upgraded my room for free due to the inconvenience. He was very nice and attentive and courteous ( can't remember his name, he was African American) however, Mario needs some retraining. I overall loved my experience :) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed on the queen mary for two nights. Waited in line for an hour because there computer system was down. The woman (monica) was rude and didnt explain that she could make a key for our driver that couldnt access the room and kept repeating herself. Bottled water that had to be paid for. Food and beverage on the ship was very expensive. They got […] confused and tried to charge us for an extra night which meant they had to refund us. "Hidden Fees from A to Z"
It was a fine enough stay, but they nickel and dime you for everything, and nothing is cheap. If cell phone providers or cable companies were a hotel, this would be the result. I was charged for things I never even used, and when I called to argue about it, they just said it was standard. I ended up spending an extra 45 dollars in unanticipated fees. "Sleeping in a beautiful antique shop"
Loved every moment, from check-in to check-out. Staff was very nice and accommodating. We traveled by fully loaded bicycle with panniers, which did not fit in their small elevators within the ship, so we had to push our bikes up and down the stairs to get to our deck. However, the external elevators had more than enough room to get into the ship for […] check-in. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience! Looking forward to a return stay. Very interesting stay with average accommodation. Definitely on the expensive side if you're only looking for a hotel room with added resort fee and parking that comes to about $40. Confusing walk to the hotel from the parking lot. Added to the problem they put up these barricades because of an upcoming event that is confusing to navigate policed by […] a bunch of very rude, I mean absolutely R-U-D-E workers who insist that you not step out of bounds which is not at all clearly marked. It was lovely to stay on this ship/hotel. It was beautiful and very well preserved. The beds were super comfy and the port windows opened up to some breezy ocean air. I wish we could have stayed another night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A great experience!"
The ship is so preserved and maintained that it feels timeless; you can imagine yourself on board in the 30's during her prime. "Great for 1 Night!"
The history of the ship and walking around and seeing all of the memorabilia was great. You are staying on a hundred year old ship and the amenities feel like they are from the same era. The beds are not that comfortable and the in room bathrooms are functional but meager and would be hard to use for people that do not get around easily. "Be prepared for the noise"
This was our third time staying on the QM and was most notable for the cacophony of noise that went on until about 11pm. We were on the dock side of the ship, having been offered an 'ocean view' upgrade for $20 but declined it. Had I known that it was going to be so noisy on the dock side of the ship, i'd have taken up the offer. Right outside our porthole […] there was some sort of loading dock where supplies were loaded into the ship until about 11pm. It was incredibly noisy. Add to this there were several parties going on onboard, AND the fact that ipod docks have been provided in the rooms which our neighbours were taking advantage of until almost 11pm, and it made for a heck of a lot of noise. Why would you provide ipod docks in rooms where the walls are essentially just thin wood? AT LEAST put a note on the device asking patrons not to use it past 10pm. Aside from these issues, we enjoyed our stay onboard due to the access you have to wander about pretty much anywhere you like with a few exceptions. I wasn't able to log onto the wifi because it hasn't been optimized for mobile users and the necessary buttons were off my phone's screen and no matter what I did, I could not click the 'agree' button. The ship is looking a bit tired and in need of a lick of paint, especially on the outside where there are areas of peeling paint. Parking is $17 but you do get in out privileges when you stay onboard. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent stay awesome fun"
We lived many years in Long Beach, so when returning to Long Beach after a 10 day China trip we thought what the heck lets stay here.My Grandson (10) Loved it, as did myself and my son. "Make sure to put everyone's name on the room..."
The stay was ok. I paid for an upgrade (adding two tiny port-holes to the room) and it seemed like it was a waste of money. Later that night my husband and brother went out to walk the deck, while I slept, and were told by security "We are cleaning the garbage off the deck" and escorted them both off the ship completely. This is an absolutely disrespectful […] practice for a historical landmark to follow. Not to mention they were attempting to provoke negative responses from them both by using words that were both inappropriate and again disrespectful. All this occurred because I didn't put my husband's name on the room, not to mention I wasn't asked if anyone else was staying with me by the hotel concierge at the origination of check-in. Security, along with management, refused to come to my door and simply knock after being asked by both my husband and brother after I failed to answer my phone, again because I was sleeping. We didn't even stay the night and ended up leaving the hotel due to the behavior of the hotel's personnel. We, along with everyone else, can receive better quality of service from hotel personnel at the neighboring hotels. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Have stayed at the Queen Mary a few times before and have been quite pleased in the past…but not this time. The key card for the first room I was given didn't work -- had to go back to reception TWICE and then they were going to send an "engineer" to check the lock. I insisted instead on being given a different room and they provided me an "upgrade". […] In the new room, the a/c wasn't working and there was no remote for the TV. Fortunately, there were portholes, so had to keep those open all night in order to get some air circulating (no screens, so insects were free to come and go as they pleased!) The room was relatively large but needed updating and some decent decor -- very depressing. The folks at reception could use some attitude adjustment training. On the upside, Sir Winston's is a very nice restaurant with good food (but very expensive). All in all, not a great experience. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Great experience staying on the Queen Mary, however, it's not for everyone. If you are very tall or large, you may not be comfortable staying there. Wow , talk about a Hotel with History. We thoroughly enjoyed touring the ship and seeing how many interesting people had traveled across the Atlantic while she was in service.
