My husband and I stayed in a preferred room at the Now Sapphire for 10 nights in Feb. and wished we had booked a longer trip. The resort was beautiful, the food was good, and the people were friendly. We had dinner in all the restaurants except the Cibu although breakfast there was god. Our favorite was the Lemongrass both the regular menu and Hibatchi. If you buy a bottle of wine, you can sit at an outside table at the Lemongrass or Paramour. The water landscaping around these restaurants as well as the main resort area is beautiful. . Puerto Morelos is a little remote but with plenty of entertainment if that's what you like. We had an oceanfront room on the first floor with two double beds. We had asked for a king room but none were available for a couple days so the two double beds were put together and that worked out well. We elected to stay where we were since we loved the room location. We enjoyed the bali beds at the adults only pool. Much more comfortable than ones we've tried in the past. We usually like to spend more time at the beach but we had a few windy days and it was a little chilly so we moved to the pool which was more protected from the wind. I would only suggest a couple improvements. Air conditioning in the gym; It was very hot although I was content with the equipment. The other thing that would have been nice is the availability of food at the beach and pool areas so you don't have to go into a restaurant.

This is a very nice airport hotel. Convenient, friendly helpful staff, comfortable rooms, lovely grounds and pool. With 2 small kids, it made our travel day so much easier to have spent the night before at the airport. We usually try not to support Marriott ... but this is the only hotel we'd consider within a few minutes of the Cancun airport.

The hotel is on its own little island with a wood plank bridge as its access. It gives the facility a solitude but is extremely accessible to Hidalgo Street, the heart of town. the beds are a bit hard but would definiely stay again.

The hotel overall was great. I had adjoining rooms and the one with the king bed was fine. I can see how some one may complain about the one with the double beds since there is no room in between the two. It wasn't an issue for me. I didnt spend that much time in the room. Food was good. A little bland but nothing a little salt can't fix. I had to ask for towels but when I did they were prompt about it and no questions asked. The stay was enjoyable and relaxing. Be open minded and flexible and you won't be disappointed.
"Cancun is what you make it"
I thought this was a great hotel for the money. It is a very large hotel so it did not seem as busy for all that space. The live shows at 830 pm were very good. The hotel staff was very friendly. There are several restaurants onsite so there was something for everyone. It's all inclusive but the wait staff work hard for a tip so you almost feel obligated. […] The only concern I had was that I could not contact the hotel before arriving to arrange transportation from the airport. I found out the hard way that you can just walk out in front of the airport and catch a tax for about $30 per cab verses paying the transportation service that you see getting off of the plane which charges double. My advice to travelers is to get a taxi out front and don't use the servide inside the airport. You can also catch the bus back to the airport for cheap if you want to ride your luggage around town. The hotel is nice if you like to sit and read a book. Nice and quiet. If you are going to have fun like to mingle or something, you have made the wrong choice. If you are planning to stay less than five days than is not that bad. If you are planning to go more than five days then I can become a problem because the food is repetative, there is no entartainment. […] It can get boring fast. The hotel is separated from the city so if you are looking for fun look somewhere else not here, this place is to relax, relax, and more relax. The worst thing that the oasis has is that everything closes early the pool bar, the beach bar, the lobby bar, etc... "Couple of bad experiences"
Had a leak in the bathroom ceiling for 2 days, right above the toilet, reported, but never got repaired. Would have been better, if we didn't have people approacing us every minute wanting us to view time shares. This was very very annoying. I didn't know this vacation was about time shares. "Nice place to stay with excellent service"
This was a last minute vacation and we got a great deal so we were not looking for a five star resort. The staff was extremely friendly. Our room was clean but smelled almost moldy. The hotel had been closed for a year. The smell was annoying but I got over it. We had a fridge stocked with beer and sodas. Nice for some but i requested 3 times for it […] to be replaced with water. The interent is horribly slow, close enough to be considered dial-up. We paid for the entire week and it was truly a pain in the BLEEP every evening getting online. We only dined at the international buffet due to our dietery needs. All the fruit and salad you could ask for and quite delicious. Fresh grilled chicken and fish cooked to your liking was also a plus. We do not regret out stay and would definitely return or refer someone. The pool area if gorgeous but the swim up bar is a hassle to get to if you are not in that exact area swimming. It was very clean and everyone was helpful and kind. We spoke spanish with them, which may have improved the quality of communication and service. Check-in was at 3, but we arrived around 11 or 11:30am and our room was available with full-use of all amenities. The Happy Chicken served us wings that were not hot and not very crispy. The sushi place […] was great. The burger and hot dog place (Mr. Wimpy) was what you would expect from a burger and dog joint. Muerdame- the Mexican buffet was pretty good, although not spectacular in any way. The gourmet restaurant, Benazuza, was absolutely incredible. We only stayed one night, and we were told that there were no reservations left, but that we could "try and go to the restaurant around 7:30 or 8 to see if they had any cancellations". We put on our formal-ish wear, told the host about our predicament (in friendly and polite spanish), and he seated us immediately. The meal was around 15-20 courses, and full of different textures, flavours, and cultures. Stellar. The pools were beautiful and and full of many couples enjoying the great weather and typical drink options. Not much of a spring break vibe, which we appreciated. The bar upstairs was modern-looking and there was a jazz band which was great, with some talented singers as well. Went on our long due honeymoon and was one of the best experiences. Great hotel for the price. They have many choices for food. I didn't like you only get 1 towel per person and then have to keep changing them out and the towel place is only open certain hours. When booking our trip to Cancun we came across Oasis Sens online. After looking at the photos and the video we decided that this would be a perfect, no-stress, get away for us. And it was! Our overall experience was good. The hotel was constantly being cleaned and manicured. The food was good. The only issue I had, was that one day I needed a wake up call for a 7:00AM excursion. I personally went to the front desk to schedule the wake up call. But I never received it. Luckily I woke up in time to make the excursion. Also, the front desk […] is a bit confused. When you ask them a question about times.... they all have a different answer. For instance, I was told that the spa opened at 8, when it actually opened at 9. There is no card inside the room with the extension numbers for front desk..... Also, they are all reluctant if willing at all to give you change. The hotel was very clean. The staff was cleaning all of the time. The hotel rooms were clean, but they did not get cleaned until very late in the day. Our room wasn't cleaned until 4 or 5 pm. To get there from the airport and back was easy using the taxi service they had right there. The down side it was just under $100 round trip, tip excluded. It was so much fun! Little out there and tapas style but delicious! Food overall was good... if you are a gourmet eater this place isn't for you. But it's all still good and tasty. We went to the italian place 3 nights... is not real italian, but it's mexico so I didn't expect that. But it's tasty. All the bars are great! Swim up bar was never crowded for very long. The shows they have are about 1/2hr long but they're fun and interesting. They don't have much else there at the hotel so if you're looking for big parties and entertainment it's not there. But pure relaxation is.The beach has wave runners, paddle boards, and kayaks for extra. Also Free volleyball and vendors but just ignore them and they don't come near. Hi Ill try to be brief . First thing U.S. Airways lost our luggage....it arrived at 10pm...with missing clothing. We met another couple there, that mentioned it happened to several people they have talked to....so...lock your luggage...and dont use U.S. Airways. Now the Hotel. Clean rooms...no issue there. Water becomes more valuable than alcohol...we […] were always looking for water and actually had to buy from the store downstairs...tip the mini bar guy...and leave a note. Way too many sales people in the lobby...seemed everywhere you looked you saw a table set up for tours...or the hotel staff wanting to talk to you. The pool area and beach Everything outside closes down at 6pm....even though people are still enjoying the pool. They actually kicked us out of the ocean?...blew their whistles and told us to come out. All the outside bars close outside also at 6pm. So...nothing after six...bummer. The Food Mexican restaurant....no menu....eat what they bring...its called a tasting menu...I would have wanted a choice....we ate there once. Italian restaurant......had a menu...we didnt like the options...had pizza one night. Buffet.....breakfast is great......dinner and lunch we didnt like at all. Gourmet restaurant....we didnt want to chance it.....again...no menu. The winner was the Happy Chicken outside for lunch...great chicken. We had an amazing time at the Oasis Sens, the service was fantastic from the front desk to the restaurant and bars. Friendly, accomodating and genuine without being in your face. The hotel in itself is ok, well kept and very clean inside out. The room was ok (great view)and quite basic (we were in the VIP area) and the bed was not that confortable, […] also the restaurants were just ok (apart from the Italian which was terrible), remember you are in an all inclusive which is very affordable so don't expect 5* food (apart at Benazuza which was amazing, serving a 10 courses set menu - for free apart for the wine). Saying that the buffet for breakfsat and diner was fine. The pool area was great, never full and with loungers available throughout the day. The beach area was great too. Please note that this is not a party hotel (no music by the pool, party all night etc...) if you are looking for an affordable get away to relax and unwind this could be the place. the hotel is one of the first one on the strip "close" to the airport so you are further away from the bars, clubs and Starbucks, perfect if you are in need on disconnecting with the world. When we checked in....We Were NOT on their schedule. I showed them my paperwork/receipt from Expedia, and they quietly found us a room. That was frustrating. Most of the hotel staff was very nice. The hotel is very nice overall. However, they had a few issues with water leaks in the building, and they asked us to move rooms on Wednesday. We complied […] with no complaints. One other small issue is we felt like we got slighted on the "VIP" package. They were supposed to provide chocolates, a welcome gift, and a stocked mini bar. The SUPER SURPRISE was the BENAZUZA Restaurant, wich probably will be in the top 3 of the most wonderful food experiences that you can have.
