Bass Lake is a US Forest Service-designated Recreation Area in the Sierra Nevada, about 14 miles from the southern entrance to Yosemite National Park. We enjoyed so much. It was nice & cozy. The location is not far from Yosemite & city area, very convenient. We rented a chalet and we are lucky there was no guest at next door. I think we chose the right time (it's Spring, not Summer). Because of not much crowded, we had peaceful time. Not clean... horrible coustomer service... 10PM-8AM is not inforced on guest. My husband and I wanted a peacful cabin experience at night so we can wake up early and go to Yosemite! We had to call 3 times each nigt because the chalets next to us decided to have a party and had about 20+ people. They took our parking spot and the chalets next to us. Just recently stayed at The Pines Resort. Since it was off-season, the pool was closed. The hot tub, however, was open year round. The children were sad about the pool but happy that they at least were able to enjoy the tub. The jets were not working; the pool/hot tub bathroom facilities were locked (no room to change the wet clothing). There were two […] towels set aside on the table. We were very surprised to see The Pines Resort. It was like an "all inclusive" resort. When the gal at the check in desk told us we'd be in a queen chalet, we still didn't realize what our "room" was like. We parked in the back, and my husband went to the front door to get into our chalet. When he came downstairs into the bedroom to open the lower door […] for me, he said, "you're going to like this". Bedroom with two queens and full bath downstairs, and living room with vaulted ceiling and kitchenette upstairs. It was nice to watch TV sitting up on a comfortable couch rather than lying in bed and continually adjusting positions to watch TV. We went to Ducey's for my birthday on 12/22/12. This time we decided to try the suites, and we were not disappointed. They were larger than we thought. There was a huge jetted bathtub, a fireplace, step down living room with a hide-a-bed, sink, microwave & fridge and the suite had a private patio. We stayed in suite #14, very nice view of the lake. […] The suites were built in 1992, so the decor could be updated; brass lamps and pale pink bathroom sink and tub, but that really did not take away from the cabin feel you get when you step in the room. For the price, I expected more. The internet service did not work. Each night I tried to access it to plan the next day, and only once did it work, and then very slowly. The microwave was tiny. The water pressure was very bad. The shower felt like someone holding a watering can over your head.

It was a good experience Staying at Pies Resort..But we were not happy with the Wi-Fii Facility..There was no interent connection at all..either wireless or wired in our rooms.Even the technical help could not provide us with the service.

Nice location but overpriced. The cabin is spacious but needs refurnishings. The pool is very nice in front of the lake but wasn't heated. And forget about the free high speed wifi, it wasn't working.

Although the hotel was obviously older - the service was great - always polite and extremely courteous. They had 2 restaurants on site - both were alot of fun and the food was good. All in all a nice place to stay for families

More like a camp than a resort.Chalets are old and not kept up.Ants all over kitchen , bathrooms and sinks.Ratttling fan and ac. No ac in basement bedroom. Large rooms . Lake front is nice with conveniences on site such as boating, swimming, restaurants, grocery store and shops. Close to Yosemite National Park.

It snowed in April! Watch out, the Pines and Duceys are located just over 3,000 ft elevation, making them prone to snow anytime between October to April. But the lake hasn't filled yet. So close to Yosemite without the craziness of tourists. Very quiet at resort and Bass Lake was so beautiful. Went to Hotel.com and read the reviews for Chalets and recent reviews about the Chalet's were not very good.. We stayed in a chalet - which had a full kitchen, loft and large bedroom. We thought we had scored when we arrived and were very happy with the room. And...then we went to sleep. The beds were so incredibly uncomfortable that we barely got any sleep. Bummer.

the cabin was nice and very spacious but i did not like that the bedrooms and bathroom were on a separate level than the kitchen/living space. Also, the write up makes it sound like its very close to yosemite, and while it is only a half hour drive to the gate of yosemite, it is an hour and a half to the yosemite village. Made for very long days.
