"Really LOUD techno music deep into the night!"
Hotel looks pretty nice in the common areas. The beach, pool, sunsets, etc are wonderful. The room, however, was dreadful. The bed was lumpy, hard, and old. Sheets and linens look like something scavenged from a thrift store dumpster. There was no where comfortable to sit or lay in the room. In addition, the room was dark and smelled like sewage when […] the toliet flushed. Finally on three of the nights we stayed (we stayed 7 nights total) there were *REALLY* LOUD and obnoxious wedding parties that carried on late into the night. The worst one played ear splitting doof doof music at full blast for hours. It was like trying to sleep inside a stereo speaker. We couldn't watch TV because we couldn't hear. We could barely talk to each other. We almost checked out and cancelled our stay because it was so bad. We complained to front desk because we were litterally being doof doofed out of our room. They pretty much told us there was nothing they could do. We asked to speak with the manager but she wasn't available. We checked back the next day and she wasn't there again. Anyways it wasn't a totally bad stay but I probably wouldn't go back. We booked because it was supposed to be a quiet private beach just out of La Paz. Next time I would just stay right downtown. It would probably be more peaceful. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great place to stay for the price"
Despite the low reviews, we gave this hotel and shot and loved it. We stayed two nights, the room was fair, flat screen TV, AC, small balcony, ocean view... The grounds were fabulous. Well maintained, lots of fun statues. The service was great, very friendly and helpful. The location is just outside of town. If you are into running, you can run the […] Malecon all the way into town. the beach is nice, there are kayaks free to use if you are into that sort of thing. The Cortez Club Dive Center is right next door, with dive and snorkeling trips. The hot tub was empty which is disappointing. We don't smoke, but ended up in a smoking room. It did not smell or smoke at all. Overall I would stay there again and recommend it to others. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Relaxation, Beautiful Views and Comfort"
We love La Concha! Found it by mistake last year on our honeymoon and came back this year for our first anniversary. It is charming, quiet and right on the beach. Every room has an ocean view and you can wake up to the sound of the Sea of Cortez. La Concha isn't hoity toity or pretentious; there's no golf carts zooming around. The staff is friendly […] and always ready to help out or suggest a new beach to check out. It's relaxed, old school and holds a super special place in my heart. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Best overall hotel in La Paz, hands down."
I love Mexico! I live in San Diego and go to Tijuana, Ensenada, San Felipe and Cancun often. This was our first trip to La Paz and can honestly say my girlfriend and I had the best vacation ever. La Concha is the best hotel in La Paz. There aren't a lot of kids there to ruin your relaxing time, it is the only hotel in La Paz with a beach, and it is […] quiet, friendly, perfectly located, and clean. The food is outstanding and reasonably priced. If you like to snorkel, the reef right off the beach of La Concha is beautiful. Downtown is less than a 10 minute drive, the beaches of Balandra and Tecolote are 20 minutes, the airport is about 25 minutes. I definitely recommend this beautiful place. If you like sunsets, you'll love it here. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
My family and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel! It was secluded but close enough to town. The resturnat was amazing! The prices for drinks and such were a little pricey though. All in all the view was the most amazing sight ever!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Let's go kayaking at the La Concha!"
There are many reviews already written about this hotel but I just finished a five night stay there and would like to add my review. The La Concha Hotel is located about five miles out of La Paz, Baja California Sur. It is a 100 peso cab ride to and from the center of town from the hotel. The hotel provides two free shuttle buses leaving the hotel in […] the morning and returning from a pickup point a few hours later. Someone in another review suggested that the hotel needs to run at least one shuttle to town in the afternoon. This would be an excellent idea. The rooms are small, so don't expect a lot. The hotel is located on the Gulf of California/Sea of Cortez amid beautiful surroundings with some magnificient sunsets. The hotel includes free internet access and provides free use of the kayaks, paddles, and life preservers. The kayaks are a lot of fun and it's great to have them included. My plan included an American breakfast each morning served outdoors with a lovely view of the sea, the swimming pool, and the grounds, with excellent service. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great food, friendly service, so-so hotel"
This hotel is hard to find, the signage is only on one side of the road. Our room smelled of sewage, they were nice enough to move us. The second room was fine, very basic, but did the job. The bed was comfy, not too springy. The restaurant food and waitstaff was excellent. They are quick to serve you, but very slow to bring the check, you may have […] to ask for it. The beach has nice palapas and loungers and the ocean perfectly laps at the shore. We enjoyed our stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff, location, room was excellent. It is an older hotel but overall it was great. A private beach that was groomed every morning. The Cortez Club was right there where excursions into the bay and sea of cortez could be booked. We went in mid-Nov and the weather was excellent and we virtually had the hotel, beach, bar, restaurant to ourselves. […] Couldn't have been better. Taxi to downtown Center was only 5 min away and cost was more than reasonable. Taxi was always there at hotel and no problem finding one on way back. Great shopping in La Paz City center. "Comfortable for a conference."
La Concha's rooms aren't great. They're adequate but not luxurious. The owners seems to be investing in building the adjacent condos, which are nicer. The public spaces are nice and the food is above average and well-priced; I especially liked the filet mignon, the breakfast burrito, the breakfast buffet, and the coffee. I was attending a medical Spanish […] course and the service (coffee, fresh juices, rolls/muffins, ice water) really helped in the mornings. The staff were all very nice and helpful. One downside is the $8 cost to get a cab into town if you don't rent a car. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
La Concha resort was a little ways from town, about 5-6 kilometers, should have a rental car if you stay here and plan on traveling around. The driveway in/out was very rough on the vehicle, they have had extra rain and it may have been due to the weather. The first night was quite noisy until about midnight due to a wedding party. Our room was on the […] first floor next to the lobby and late nights and early mornings were a little on the noisy side. The staff was extremely professional and helpful in everyway. The room was clean when we arrived and cleaned everyday and everything worked as expected. I find that in Mexico they like very firm beds, have had one every year for the last 5 years down there. A beautiful beach out back, the nicest one of all the hotels I've stayed at, along with a nice pool. They have sit on kayaks available at no extra cost for your use. This is my fifth year going to La Paz and I have had good experiences with the hotels every year. La Concha was no exception, I would use them again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel for family or adults wonderful beach"
We had a very pleasant stay, very quite and the staff went out of their way to accomadate our every need. We stayed 8 days and plan a return trip next year. It was off season but it was great I highly recommend this place well kept and maintainedGenuine Expedia guest review

Rooms are a bit old and small but the hotel is nice overall - right on the beach with a nice pool area.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, super staff, needs sprucing up"
I was overwhelmed by the hospitality and warmth of the staff as well as the breathtaking location. The building, however, needs some TLC. Slow drains and peeling paint made my otherwise clean and comfortable room seem shabby.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Not satisfied at all!!!, room really small, the blankets old and not that nice, the room where we stayed was in front of the laundry room of the hotel and outside didn't smell that nice, the shower really bad looking and not clean at all. Not going back!!!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Would not go back"
Most of the hotel staff (Housekeeping and the food service) were pleasant and hardworking, definitely interested in making your stay enjoyable. Overall our stay was pleasant, although it didn't meet expectations. The hotel is aging and tended to by staff. Restaurant - the Chef's Special Fish (w/potato crust) and Fish soup were quite good, Maragaritas […] even better. The Hotel has a free shuttle to town, but you have to "discover" it on your own. Otherwise moving about requires Taxi service and rental cars. Single/double rooms are very small and the beds were rock hard. The Hotel also books parties and weddings on the weekends so don't expect it to be quiet until midnight or later on Friday and Saturday nights. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hidden Gem. Beach, Activities and Restaurant!"
How many hotels are there in La Paz on the beach for this price? None I'm sure. How many have restaurants with great tasting food and low prices. La Concha is the best. The restaurant has Lobster, New York, Filet Mignon Steak, Pastas, everything and excellent quality and flavor at extremely low prices. The beach is the best, perfect sandy beach with […] kayaking and snorkeling. There are lounge chairs, huts, covers, umbrellas, restaurant service to the beach for food or drinks and a nice huge pool. The rooms are a little on the small side, are very clean, have a fridge, huge king size bed (could use a newer thicker comforter). Remote would be nice for the air conditioner and more options for controls. Some rooms have a balcony overlooking the beautiful ocean for the same price. We enjoyed the art them of the hotel, mainly in the restaurant and out by the pool. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cheap and right on the beach"
Restaurant good, but it's tough to find a Mexican hotel where the restaurant is bad. On the sand and right next to a sportfishing dock, a couple miles out of town. The lobby, pool, and outside bar areas are really nice. Our room was small, old, and a bit dingy. But at least the air conditioning was working very well. The location on the beach is awesome. But the far distance to town and the Malecon was a bit too far. The free shuttle the hotel provides only goes to town twice in the morning (9am & 11 am). "La Concha value"
This is the best value for your dollar that we could see for La Paz. the Location is terrific in that it is not too far from town but enough that is is peaceful and quiet. The combination of beach (with good snorkling), pool, restarant, spa, and pier(Cortez club) is hard to beat. The food is good. The staff is friendly and the view is perfect.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Quaint. But loud."
The Hotel is older but the rooms are decent enough, The bed was firm which I liked. The food at the Hotel was good. The biggest problem that I had with this Hotel was that 4 out of the 7 nights we stayed, their was a large group of people who gathered accross the street from the hotel starting at 11:00 p.m. and staying until 4:00 to 5:00 am. all the […] while playing music so loud that the base literally viberated the front door. The first night it happened, I called the front desk and was told that they had allready called the police several times but they had not shown yet. "La Paz area Hotel with sunset views"
This is a solid 3 star hotel with a great view of the sunset. And every room has a view. It is just a few miles out of La Paz, on a small and not very remarkable beach. My husband and 12 year old daughter used the sit aboard kayaks and had fun paddling around and swimming. We had a few good meals at the hotel as well as the complimentary breakfast -- […] which we thought was well worth it. The Hotel is near a main road, so it is not completely trainquil at night, but on the 2nd night we kept the windows closed (and I turned off the in room refridgerator!) and it was fine. I think this is a good, quieter alternative to staying in La Paz -- you could walk it (3 miles?) or bikes would have been fun. We met nice people in the dining room. -- also we stayed in a hotel room, but the condos looked quite nice. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The location is away from the main part of the city. The view from the room and restaurant are good. But the mattresses are very poor. I looked at 3 different rooms and spent one night in the 3rd room. The others were not good. Even though the price is good, I would not stay there because of the mattresses. I was offered an upgrade, but declined since […] there is no reason why you needed an upgrade to get a good mattress. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beachfront hotel. It's just far enough out of town to escape the noise and traffic, and close enough for quick trips to the city waterfront. "La Concha Hotel in La Paz"
The property was dated (70's?) but well maintained. Quiet private area just outside the main city. Were initially put in a room which had not been updated & hence no screens. "Book At A Different Hotel"
I would not stay at this hotel again. It looks like it was built in the 60's of 70's, and nothing has changed since then. The beds, curtains, pillows, and towels were very, very old. We noticed that they were renevating a few of the rooms with new beds and maybe even some flat screen televisions, but for some reason they did not put us into those rooms. […] Even if they had it still would not have been a good experience. The shower also did not have any hot water. Lastly, there is not elevator so we carried our heavy bags up three flights of stairs. We originally stayed at the hotel because we were going to Scuba Dive with their operation. The first day of diving was good, but after that things went down hill. The surprising thing is that no one ever asked for our dive certification cards, or had us sign any paperwork. We just showed up, got on the boat and went diving. I liked the dive loactions and the crew was really cool, but I wouldn't have wanted my two boys to dive with this operation because frankly it is not very safe. The most frustrating part of the diving experience was the lack of any organization. They would tell me to arrive at a certain time, and I would, but they would not have a boat ready. Two of the days I didn't get to dive because of their lack of planning and organization, which was odd because their was less than 5 people diving every day. They charge about $150 per day to dive, and they lost about $600 from their lack of organization. We were told by a local that James (the owner) used to run a really tight ship and things were good in the past. He told us that James had been focusing on building condos, and let the operation go the crap. Truer words were never spoken. The positives: The staff was friendly, and the actual divemasters and captains were very cool people. Snorkeling with Whalesharks was amazing and the captain of the trip was great! The hotel and grounds are nice. We just stayed overnight. I think it would be a pretty good place for a longer stay which could include kayaks and fishing and snorkeling. Had to try three rooms before we found one that didn't smell. Rooms on first floor have strange balconies that almost let you go straight to the pool but really don't, forcing you to take long walks to go anywhere. Beach is okay, not special. Grounds need some maintenance. There's nothing to do around the hotel neighborhood so driving into town becomes […] necessary. "About 45 minute walk from anything."
The good aspects of this hotel: staff are great, hotel is on the only decent beach near downtown La Paz, the seminar room where I took the spanish course was fine. However everything else I have to say is negative. The wifi hardly ever worked. Only dependable internet connection was the wired connection at the computer at the end of the hall. Hotel […] was noisy!! A lot of student groups/teams staying for several days. They would run around, jump down the stairs, make a lot of noise and the hotel staff pretty much did nothing about it that I could identify. Also the hotel is far from everything. You need to spend 100 pesos for a cab ride into town or walk about 45 minutes to get to the downtown area. Best to rent a bike from one of the two bike stores on the malecon. The room itself was small and ugly but at least sported a fridge and a functioning air conditioner. Walls are thin. I was awoken by a guy snoring in the next room!
