"close to sights/shopping"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
We loved it - great location, staff and breakfast. Lovely, large second floor room.
"Good Value"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The Ardmore is a clean, modern hotel that has power showers and staff that are friendly. The food served is well prepared and affordable. For the money it can't be beat, but if you want nice pillows, soft towels& cozy bedding then you should spend the extra money to get them. Those of us who prefer value over the little "extras" would love this hotel. The 15 minute bus ride into downtown wasn't bad unless you JUST missed the bus and have to wait another twenty minutes to get on. It is a great location for a first night into Dublin or your last because it is only 15 minutes to the airport!
"Wonderful hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
The westbury is a great hotel, very clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. I absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to travel to Dublin soon!

"Close enough to everything, far enough for quiet"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 3, 2012
Very pleasant. We stayed directly in temple bar 3 nights before and wanted one night of quiet before we left. Receptionist was extremely helpful and even mailed a postcard for me so I wouldn't have to walk. Would stay again.

Dublin Airport is 10 kilometres north of the city centre. It is a relatively small but busy and expanding gateway, and is undergoing major redevelopment, with a new terminal to be added in 2010. An Airlink bus service provides a direct connection with Dublin city centre in around 30 minutes.

The Regency is close to the airport and a 10 minute bus ride to O'Connell St. Hotel is comfortable, but not luxurious. I've stayed there multiple times and have not been disappointed. Staff is helpful and friendly.
"Great hotel"
A very relaxing evening spent in the hotel before an early flight the next morning. Easily accessible to the airport and city centre. Excellent leisure centre and helpful staff and very good rates too.
"Regency Hotel in Dublin - very accomodating"
When we arrived and mentioned being on our honeymoon they upgraded us to the Bridal Suite and we were even able to check in early. Room was very spacious and beautiful. Not all parts of the shower and tub worked but it was still more than we had originally paid for. Friendly staff and very willing to help. Set on city street so I'm sure not all views […] from rooms are beautiful. We could see some of the hill in the distance. Free Wireless a plus, just make sure it works in your room. Overall good experience Read more
"Regency Hotel Dublin"
Great place. Convenient to the city center and the airport. Situated in a very pleasant neighborhood in Drumcondra. Bus stop is less than 100 yds from the door.
"There for 3 nights"
Great location, great staff, close enough to the city center to simply hop a bus, and party, far enough away that you're not dealing with the inherent problems
"Regency Hotel Dublin - convenient, safe, clean"
The hotel was really lovely and very familiar; more American-style than European. Coffee in room, windows that open, safe and quiet neighborhood, friendly and helpful staff, comfy bed, grocery next door, bus stop around the corner, taxis in and out all day. Definitely a great place for budget travelers, families--and everyone else, too!
"poor service"
the hotel was pretty nice and the rooms were ok, but the staff was pretty rude
"Short but good stay."
I only stayed for one night,as I was getting a flight the next morning, close to local bus stop to airport/city also think they have a shuttle bus to the airport, but I was familar with the area so I got local bus.Girl on reception was polite friendly and helpful at check in. Room was very clean and warm.
"Regency good deal for a couple of nights"
Staff was helpful; building was being renovated and I stayed in a newer room. It wasn't totally complete(no clock, needs new bedding to go with new room) but comfortable bed and bathroom with great heat (it was wInter), new furniture / tv. Excellent cost and location for quick bus ride to city center. Skip hotel food and eat at JJ's next door. Price […] / service won't be beat in that area. Spa/liesure center was beautiful and shouldn't be missed. Read more
"Very good for a wknd stay in dublin"
rooms are basic and clean, location is good for easy travelling to city centre, bus stop just a minute away. good value hotel. beware of parking charge though, €10 a nite.
"Needs Improvement"
They played loud music on the ground floor behind the bar saturday and sunday nights and it was so loud we couldn't sleep. It went on till 12:30 am despite our protest. Also there is no A/C or heat in the rooms and some of the windows can't open so it gets hot.
"had to pay for parking this year 10euros a day"
nice atmosphere and easy to get to
"i won't be going back"
rooom very small overlooking air conditioning plant. smell in bathroom. Queue of about one hundred people for breakfast. carpark €10.
"Please don't remind me that I stayed here"
If you decide to stay here, please ask to see your room first and don't commit to an unrefundable rate. If we had not arrived so late, got an unrefundable room, and had to leave so early, there is no way I would have stayed. The lobby and front of the hotel are absolutely beautiful; however, our room was tiny, stuffy, and uncomfortable. What made the […] room completely disgusting was the bed cover, which appeared to have smeared blood as well as many other stains that I could only guess as to what they might be. The bedspread was so gross it made me question everything else. I read in the lobby that you can upgrade your room for 15 euro, and maybe those rooms are much better. However, based on the price we paid, the additional 15 euro could have put us in a much nicer hotel. Also, they even charge 5 euro per person for the airport shuttle. Based on the price we paid for the room we received, it was dramatically overpriced! Read more
"No problem with going back there"
If you want a pretty reasonable Hotel outside of the City this is pretty good. It is a fair walk into the City but if you want to be lazy there are good Bus links to the Centre plus the Hotel seem to lay on cheap Transport for special occasions (i.e. event at Croke Park). Middle of the Road cost and would quite happily return.
"Poor service"
Dublin is difficult to navigate due to lack of actual street signs. We called the hotel to get directions and the young lady at the desk only gave us general directions. She put us on hold for about 10 minutes trying to find someone who could help us. We finally arrived at the hotel and the desk clerk was talking to a co-worker for about 5 minutes to […] what appeared to be a personal conversation. She turned to us and apologized and proceeded to pick up the phone. The other clerk came out and answered the phone and when she was done went back into the office. A gentleman walked behind the clerk and faced the wall looking at papers, while we are still waiting and other guests arrived. After 15 minutes the clerk finally assisted us. When we arrived to the room the door was open and the light above the desk was hanging over the mirror, no longer attached to the wall. They asked for my credit card for any future purchases and I've just checked my bank account and there is a pending charge for the room, which was already pre-paid. Room walls are paper thin so you can hear the guests on either side of your room and the beds are small and hard. Read more
"NO GOING BACK"
The reception area of the hotel is beautiful however not the rooms or staff. The entrance to our room on the 4th floor was dark with a pokey corridor, the room smelt of smoke, underneath the bed was dusty and dirty with used knickers beneath. Fire Alarm went off late that night and nobody answered reception phone which I tried few times. My 5yr old […] son was asleep so I did not know what to do. There was no eye contact from receptionist either on arrival or departure. I waited 40 minutes for a toasted sandwich which I was told 5 minutes. I then waited 20 minutes to get served for a drink in the bar again no eye contact from barman and no please or thank you from any member of staff. Read more
"good hotel"
Stayed at the Regency hotel while in Dublin to see Bruce Springsteen. A shuttle bus ran to and from the RDS to take guests to the venue. The Hotel staff were friedlyand helpful, the rooms were basic but very clean and a good size. I would def come and stay here again.
"Cant wait to go back"
Food excelent, service efficient and friendly. My stay was too short will look forward to more deals so I can enjoy the leisure centre.Only negative thing was guests having to pay for parking, 10euros a night is a bit over the top.
"Within easy reach of city centre"
Unfortunately my wife became sick as soon as we arrived at the Hotel The staff were very accommodating and were checking on her all the time Apart from being prompt in calling a doctor they all went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable In our worried state we were very impressed with all the attention they gave us If we do return to […] Dublin we will definitely return to this hotel Read more
We spent weekend there, Hotel was lovely very helpful staff. food was excellent. Just a 10 minute bus run to city centre made this convenient travelling from North.Leisure centre facilities were brilliant thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would highly reccommend this hotel.

Nice hotel but needs renovation. Starting to show it's age.
"good budget hotel for dublin"
We were at the Regency over the St Patricks weekend so the hotel was full to bursting and after reading several poor reviews of this hotel i was expecting the worst But was pleasantly suprised clean rooms, good friendly service and all within a 13 euro taxi ride of Dublin city centre We didnt eat at hotel but had breakfast next door at a really nice […] cafe next to a supermarket the Full Irish was superb The staff were kept very busy but were never less than superb I would reccomend this hotel to anyone staying in Dublin on a tight budget Read more
"Regency Hotel in Dublin"
Nice bathroom, bedroom a bit dated and quite basic. Disappointed that swimming pool cost extra

"Regency Leisure Club Dublin"
Convenient by bus to the centre city and airport. Friendly staff. Only negative point was that the room was quite chilly - of course, it was probably the worst day weather wise I've ever spent in Dublin. Other than that, I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.

"the hotel was excellent value and great location"
I found the regency hotel brilliant value, the breakfast for 10 euro was the best i have seen in any hotel. The location 10 mins from Dublin Airport and 10 mins from City Centre made it a great central spot for a short break. The staff were friendly and helpfull, and the hotel was very clean and comfortable.
"Great Hotel"
Stayed here for 2 nights with my disabled cousin, Hotel was great, the brekfast was fantastic with a great range on offer, the htel staff were fantastic. Would recommend to anyone wanting a Hotel in Dublin. The location of the hotel is not very good for a disabled person travelling solo though.
"Well placed on Swords Road"
The hotel was well placed on Swords Road almost equally distant between the Airport and Dublin's Town Centre .Driving is a nightmare in Dublin, however the Hotel is well serviced by local buses to and from the Dublin Town centre and the Airport. The management , especially the reception manager could not have been more helpful and we really appreciated […] his kindness in getting us to where we wanted to go . Top marks! Read more
"very dated inside and food was very average"
The outside looked nice and the staff are very helpful and pleasant but there were a few things that were certainly dated. the windows are old and not well painted, maintained or shut well. the furniture is dark also like many of the older hotels but you get what you pay for i suppose. Limited chose of food and was average not spectacular, comfort […] food. Read more
"Dont Believe the pictures!"
Disappointed to say the least, arrived here and was given my room key, on entering the room (4101) which was freezing with no heating working and no thermostat to turn it up, I thought Oh!. Then I went to turn on the old style 20 " television, I found that there was a big hole in the front where one of the program buttons should be and could have electrocuted […] myself if I had stuck my finger in. Then I saw the carpet and was disgusted to see it was held together by Gaffa (duck) tape, beside the bathroom wall because the bath had leaked into the room. This was the last straw and I went downstairs to complain. This was the first time ever for me to complain about a room. I was given another room (4134) which was slightly better but not by a lot. The carpet was new! The room was still cold and the television, another old type was this time shrunk to 14". Surely in this day and age it is not that expensive to have a decent TV in the room. I didn't say anything this time but obviously, I shall not be visiting this hotel again.... Shame on The Regency. I would give it 1.5 stars only. Read more
"regency hotel,Dublin"
excellent value for money hotel, staff very friendly and helpful.Particuarly enjoyed the free sauna, steam room and swimming pool. Also handy for airport as public bus drops you off just across the road, and croke park is just a ten to fifteen minute walk away.
"the regency dublin - comfortable enjoyable stay"
we were very happy with this hotel. clean and comfortable, it has nice furnishings and fittings athough some rooms are better than others. the bathroom was very nice and everything was clean. i would have liked a mini fridge but that was the only criticism about the room. the spa was amazing, this is why i chose the hotel and i wasnt disappointed, it […] looks as good if not better than the pictures. however one area where the hotel really lets itself down is the food. i was shocked at how poor it was, i sent some of it back. however, this really isnt a problem as there is a nice cafe on the corner which becomes a restaurant at night and the food in there is very nice. "Regency, Dublin"
Nothing fancy, good location, 5 minutes on bus to Downtown, helpful staff. Nice pub. Very noisy on Saturday night, did not sleep a wink with all the hallway noise.
"Regency Hotel, Dublin"
We stayed for one night and found the hotel to be in great condition. Room and en suite were so clean and tidy. Taxi journey into city centre was reasonable and took about 10 minutes, but buses travel regularly from right outside the hotel as well. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Would definitely recommend.
"THE REGENCY DUBLIN"
BOOKED THIS LAST WEEK THEN LOOKED AT THE REVIEWS FOR THE HOTEL WHICH WERE NOT VERY GOOD ,BUT WHEN I WENT AND STAYED AT THE HOTEL IT WAS GREAT STAFF ,ROOM , AREA ,FOOD ,ETC I HAD A FANTASTIC TIME IT WILL BE MY 1ST CHOICE NEXT TIME I GO CHEERS REGENCY MANY TKS
"The Regency Hotel & Leisure Club Swords Road White"
On arrival the reception the two male receptionists had no records of my booking, as it had not been printed off. The booking was made the morning previous and I arrived at 8pm. This should have been sufficient time I felt to have a booking confirmed and a room ready. However I had to wait 20mins for staff to find my booking, print it off and find a […] room for me for my two night stay. The room I was then allocated on the first night was in my opinion something I would not put my dog in. The decor was old and dingy, nothing like the pictures of the decor in the rooms shown on their website. These are all executive rooms and NOTHING like the standard room. The windows were filthy, old and let in a draft. The bed covers were old-fashioned and not clean!! The sheets were the only clean items. The room was poorly lit, the tv was like something from the 70s, and the bathroom smelled of stale water. The bed was old and uncomfortable with a large dip in it and needless to say I did not sleep a wink. The fact I could hear the goings on in every other room; including other guests late night use of the toilet, did not help either. Needless to say I was NOT IMPRESSED! The following morning I made it my business to complain to the front desk, something I have never done before. The girls at the desk were extremely kind, understanding and helpful. They made a record of my complaint and introduced me to the female manager on duty at the time. She was very apologetic and an excellent representative for the hotel. She had me moved to another room around the corner from the first one. This room was far superior and exactly what you would expect of modern hotel rooms. It was immaculate, beautifully decorated and comfortable. It was spacious, quiet, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. A stark contrast to the first room. It baffles me that one hotel could have such contrasting rooms in style, decor, cleanliness and comfort on the one floor, within yards of each other. Read more
"Regency hotel Dublin :not impressed"
Location of the hotel is good. I would not recommend it for families, the loud music ( which I was told is a given every Friday and Saturday night) is terrible when your trying to get young kids to bed. There is no room service for breakfast .unless check out is before 7am The Rooms were average, the bed linen was shabby, the windows were very poor […] covered in black (damp?) I really was disappointed with it overall. No I would not recommend this hotel. Poor standard. Read more
Hote lstaff friendly and helpful. However though the room was clean and comfortable, the windows in the room could do with painting as the paint was peeling off or they need replacing.
"Convenient for Public Transport"
Hotel was very convenient on North side, Bus Stop 100 yards approx. Supermarket beside hotel entrance , very convenient for bits and pieces. Disabled parking spaces - only 3 , at main entrance, other spaces beside them that could have been used were chained off , why not used for disabled drivers .
Room was very small.decor very old
"Satisfactory"
This hotel is what i'd call satisfactory. It was clean and quiet but the rooms were basic and we had a great view from the window of a brick wall. The staff were very helpful but the food was a bit disappointing
"Great location, shame about the hotel"
The hotel is in a fabulous location close to the airport, Croke Park and on major bus route into Dublin city centre. The reception & bar area downstairs are modern and confortable, however, the rooms themselves are dark and dated and not at all welcoming. There was no hairdryer in the room, some of the lights didn't work and even the picture quality […] on the television was questionable. I would recommend the hotel for convenience but would warn people not to expect much from the rooms. It was somewhere to sleep but not ro relax and chill out. Read more
"TAKE THAT CONCERT"
Hotel bar and reception lovely rooms a bit dated though clean, good convenient location for Croke Park, friendly helpful staff. Would recomend for what we needed the hotel for but not the place you would want to go for a plush romantic break. Great buffet breakfast overall had a great time.

"The Regency Hotel, Dublin"
Very expensive old hotel with shabby rooms. It was worse than some good hostels I stayed in! We booked two double rooms - first one was very small and dirty but the second one was twice as big and much nicer. Although the price was the same for both... It's a big hotel with many groups staying there, you spend always a lot of time waiting for the receptionist […] to be free. It should be improved! Two receptionist in the shift would make a big difference. Read more
